I've driven by this place a zillion times, but never have stopped by. It's in Midway, across from Banfield Pet Hospital and Big Tent Liquor off the Green Line. I had dropped my Iphone and part of the corner popped out of the case, so knew I needed to get my smartphone fixed. I checked out some Yelp reviews and decided it was worth stopping by. First, Snelling Avenue was undergoing major construction when I drove there, but it was easy to get to and has its own parking lot, which is super convenient. It was empty when I went in, and I was promptly attended to. The store manager, Demetrius W, helped me. He went over the minimum labor fee of $26, and they literally fixed it within 5 minutes. I barely had to wait - had great customer service, and found the price to be reasonable from other estimates that I got online. Overall, very happy with my relatively easy Iphone fix! read more

Friend had bought an iPhone from them in the past and they seemed friendly and trustworthy. Brought my own iPhone in to have the cracked screen replaced. When I dropped off my phone it was functioning and charging completely fine. Picked it up the next day and it wouldn't charge and was stuck in a restart cycle. Demanded to know what happened to it and after running some tests they finally admitted they had fucked the motherboard. Okay price for fixing screen but be prepared to have to buy an entirely new iPhone and if they destroy your cracked one they only refund cost of screen not $25 labor cost, which is ridiculous because all they did was destroy my phone. read more

DONT GO HERE!!!! Wow is all I can say. First, way over priced for a new screen, $215.20. The Apple Store is less money , accurate with time and their store isn't nasty.. The freak shows at WOW told me it would take two hours to replace my screen. I returned two hours after I first dropped it off for repair. Told I needed to wait 30 more minutes. Set my watch and retuned 30 min later, told the screen was defective and they needed 20 more min. Came back 22 min later and told they needed 1 more min. After 6 min I was handed my phone. The staff really knows their stuff and they are fun to deal with. But much more important than fun is that they stand by their products and service. Where else can you get a lifetime warranty on accessories? Certainly not Apple Store. And their lightning cords come in around half the price. *sigh* I hate giving out 1 stars so I really hope things get resolved so I can gladly update and make this a great review! :) My husband brought in an old cell phone with a broken screen on a Wednesday, they said for $50 they will fix it, have it done on Friday and will call him when it's ready. Saturday we have not heard from them and my husband calls asking about the status of the phone. They transfer us twice and then we get put on hold for 20 minutes and hang up. Then I call and ask about the phone, the man who answers claims they are extremely busy and asks if he can call back in 5 minutes, then hangs up. Of course no call. read more

Let's be honest, World of Wireless (WOW) isn't in the greatest location and looks pretty shady from the outside. However, this location is close to me, priced fairly and they were able to fix the camera on my iPhone 5 S on the same day, within a little over an hour. Here's The Skinny (Repair Service Review); Service: The staff was friendly and prompt. WOW was able to fix the camera on my phone within about an hour or so and they were very prompt and straight to taking care of business. The customer service I experienced didn't' exceed my expectations but I wouldn't call the service unprofessional. The customer service representatives seemed to be little more relaxed in terms of professionalism. Location: Off of Snelling & University near the eye sore of a green building known as the Spruce Tree. The Midway Area isn't exactly my favorite place on earth, however I've learned to appreciate everything that comes along with the area, especially since it's not too far from where I live and work. Price: Fairly priced compared to nearby competitors and on-line services where one has to send their phone out and wait for the phone to be shipped back to them. Parking: Small customer private lot in the back of the building & street parking in front of the store. Accessible by bus, Green Line Light Rail and off of the 94 & Snelling Ave exit. If you're looking for an Apple Store experience, skip WOW. If you're looking for fair prices and speedy service, I highly suggest checking out this WOW location. G-H-E-T-T-O I usually do not mind the ghetto, but this place is TERRIBLE! I do not understand how they are even still in business. They care about money more than they do customers and won't do what is right to correct a mistake their employee made. Their stuff is NOT cheap, you can find it elsewhere cheaper or for the same price but with better service. The owner is the source of the problem too and that is how I know that the whole chain is a scam. if you want phone accessories go to eBay or Amazon, I promise they will be a whole lot cheaper! I cracked my screen on my iPhone and in my research found figures that were outrageously high to get it fixed (might as well buy a new iphone). I decided to get it priced at World of Wireless. The price I was quoted and charged was half the price of what I thought it was going to be. I went in the morning and had to wait for a little while as other customers were in line and Demetrius the manager wouldn't have back up until noon. He wasn't sweating it though; trying his best to help each customer. I was told what time it would be finished with repair and it was waiting for me when I returned an hour later. The screen was fixed very well to my amazement and it has been functioning just as it has been before. We have used World if Wireless for all of our phone issues since 2012. They're the friendliest, cost friendly and quality is all that comes out of their work. Last time was the icing on the cake. My phone broke and my backup phone didn't work with my SIM. This wasn't just a bummer because I was out a phone-this meant I couldn't talk to my daughters. Love this place, and have been here twice over the years, with great service each time. Doug Light was the guy who manages my iPhone battery replacement this time, and his team did it while I waited (in less than 20 minutes, for less than the cost of going to the iPhone store). I love that the iPhone 6 will let a tech work on it pretty easily when replacing the battery, and while it's not something I would want to try myself, I love that World of Wireless would do it (and so fast!). Locate some on the Snelling/University corner (a block south, actually), it was even near my house. I'd trust these guys with any phone electronics stuff. It's funny, I saw that not all the reviews were 5 stars, and I think that's unfair. People don't always realize how hard a small store like this works, and if you trust reviews, you should trust mine--a real person, going to a real store, with realistic expectations that were not just met, but were exceeded. I don't write a lot of reviews, but I did this time because of the exceptional service (and I like supporting a neighborhood business). They're not like a chain (although there is more than one), they act like a great neighborhood business. A++ read more

I Drop off my cell phone on 11-09-2014 to find out if there was any chance they could fix the phone. Called in to find out on 11-11-2014 that the phone was beyond repair & was told to go pick it up. Today I went into the store to pick up my cell to find out i had to pay a labor fee of $26.92 to get my cell. Said that it was labor fee for looking at the phone. I was never told they were going to charge me any labor fee (nor did i get a receipt stating that there is a labor fee) just for looking at the cell. I was told if they can fix the cell than they will charge me but if they can't fix it than there was no charge. i was MAD but i didn't want to cause a commotion and I know if I didn't pay they were just going to take the cell. if it was my cell I would have left it, but it was my wife, so I pay for it. Brought iPhone in to have screen replaced, spent time up front filling out information, 'technician' said it would be done in an hour, and took my phone number to cal if there was any issues. I went in and had my screen replaced and the next day my phone is turning on and off and it seems that the power button is flush and has no resistance. When you skim over it with your finger like a feather, it turns on and off really fast. Also as I was taking the case off and it cracked. I do maintenance for a living so I know if I'm being too rough or not and with the slightest pressure it cracked. I love when company's up sell to customers knowing their protection is bogus. P.S. can you guys actually answer your phone or what. I think its a perfect time for another cellphone repair company to come through and put world of wireless out of business. I recently got a letter from T-mobile from when i turned my phone in, Which i payed over $160 to get the phone taken care of at world of wireless then resulting in being fixed screen wise but, what I told above happened then again having to pay t-mobile 150+ dollars for replacement. In The Letter told in the beginning said that there was water damage indicated inside the phone?!?!? So, I needed a temporary fix while I wait for the delivery, and these guys did the job fast, right, and at a good price. WoW replaced a cracked iphone 5 screen for me, as well as a cracked ipad air screen. Service was very quick, price was much more reasonable than Apple store, and when the ipad started experiencing touch sensitivity issues, they replaced it with no hassle. read more

Sold me a STOLEN PHONE!! I purchased what I was told was a "factory unlocked iPhone" from World of Wireless. after using it for a couple weeks, I needed to upgrade the software in order for it to sync all the apps from my iPod Touch. When I attempted to upgrade the sofware by plugging it into iTunes on my computer, an error message appeared that said I had to restore it to the factory settings - I pressed ok, then another error message popped up. When I unplugged the phone, all that would come up on the screen was a usb icon and the itunes logo. I brought it to the Apple Store where they were able to tell me in about 2 seconds that the phone was reported stolen in Spain and still attached to a carrier in Spain. They were unable to fix it as it was now "bricked". World of Wireless refused to give me my money back, they said they could exchange it for another iPhone- for a restocking fee!! I will never do business here again. They said they could restore it - and when I said that Apple said it was bricked and there was othing to be done with it- the answer was "Apple says alot of things..." and "since the phone was not reported stolen in the US, its really not their problem." They repaired the screen on my iPhone 6s for $220 plus tax. That price was similar to other estimates I was getting around town, so no complaints there. The service was mediocre. The person who helped me was efficient, but never smiled and seemed annoyed to be there. When I asked why the form I signed at drop off said "liquid damage noted," he said "that's copied and pasted from the last customer." I was uncomfortable signing something that said my phone had existing damage which it did not have. He again seemed annoyed that I was asking questions. I left a phone number to call when the phone was done. I asked how long it would take, and I was told "usually about a hour." It was a few hours before closing, so when didn't get a call at the end of the day, I assumed they had gotten busy and it was taking longer than normal-- no big deal. I went in the next morning, and my phone had been finished, but no one had called me to let me know as they had promised. My screen is repaired and seems to be working fine, but I've received better customer service at other screen repair places. Average experience. read more

I gave them an earful alright!!!!!!!! It had been 2 weeks by now... And now 3 damn weeks!!!!!!!!!!! finally got a phone call yesterday my phone was fixed as I have asked and paid in FULL for. Went to pick up my phone, and making sure to turn on my phone and check the issues for why i brought my phone in to fix before leaving their store, I had noticed the silent switch button on the side of my phone doesn't click & stay switched on/off anymore! this was NEVER a problem to begin with!!!!! i notified the worker rightaway of this issue and she simply asked me am I sure it wasn't a problem i already had with my damn phone! how the hell are you going to fix my phone and screw up something else that was just fine?!??!?!
