I believe this is the cheapest gas prices in the area! I never have a problem when coming here unless it's closed! I will say that has happened to me a couple times, they are usually doing some sort of construction on the site so they close it to the public or the big trucks are getting gas & no one else can pull in lol But when I do come here it's quick & affordable! They recently updated & installed new equipment & pumps at all of the numbers so no problems there everything's nice & new! Will continue coming to them cause it's the same gas it always is, usually a full tank lasts me about a full week these days then back we go again lol read more

The gas here is cheap and its for a reason. I always fill up at Chevron or Shell for my cars but i decided to fill here since it's around 30 cents cheaper per gallon than those place. Once i filled up and started driving. My car felt sluggish and less responsive than before and my MPG was less than when i fill up at my usual spot (i reset the meter every time i fill up and this time i put 3/4 gas from World gas) I drive a manual so i can feel the difference when driving. Never did I think I would be writing a review for a gas station but this World Oil has had the most competitive pricing in the neighborhood ever since I got my license over a decade ago (and this is my family's go-to gas station). The prices here are on par with costco and are consistently more affordable than nearby gas stations. They've updated their tech a few times and it's just cleaner and nicer each time. Place is always crowded due to their great competitive gas prices. There is a gas station straight across the street from them but this one is always a little more convenient due to the prices. The only reason I did not 5 was because their space is hard to navigate around, very small spaces in between pumps so you literally feel like you are going to hit a curb or a car. This place has one thing keeping it in business. One thing ... and that's cheap gas. Everything else is a complete failure. The screens on the pumps are hard to read, especially in daylight. I almost always use my hands to cover the glare. For a while, there were no trash cans anywhere near the pumps. And when they finally installed windshield cleaning stations, there were no squeegees nor water. What prompted me to update my review and drop it to 1 star is the same reason as several other fellow Yelpers: the attitude of the old Indian man. And for the same reason, a simple receipt. After filling up my tank, the screen said to go inside for a receipt. As I entered the little store area, the old man is arguing with another customer, yelling at him. The customer tried to explain to him the screen told him to come in for the receipt, and the old man yelled back saying he was too slow in selecting 'yes' for a receipt. That made no sense. He left pissed, understandably so. It was my turn and I said nicely, 'I'm here for the same reason, a receipt' in which immediately he yelled back "This is a self service station! I cannot print receipts for any of you!" Even after many customers went in asking for a receipt, it didn't dawn on him that perhaps ... just perhaps it's out of paper, or need servicing. During one of my visits to LA, I kept passing by this gas station when I drove between Arcadia and San Gabriel. I noticed they had the cheapest gas prices if paying with cash ($4.20). To be honest, these prices were cheaper than back at home in Hawaii, so this is where I filled up before heading to the airport to return my vehicle. Don't expect paper towels or a squeegee to clean the windows because that's not available. They do have trash cans so yes, you can clean out your vehicle. read more

The worse offender of all is the owner Raj, very mean, rude and exactly what you think of when you think of penny pinching old businessmen. When traffic is particularly busy at the usual rush-hour times, for when activities at nearby Arcadia high school require drivers to carefully consider any turns through traffic, World Oil presents a reasonable queue for purchasing gasoline at competitive prices. They except credit and debit cards, and of course will be happy to take your cash inside of the small register. The convenience store inside is little more than a couple of cold cases with drinks, I candy bar rack, and the usual tobacco choice is behind the counter if you're into that sort of thing. In and of itself, purchasing jostling hair is more of a three or four star experience. While the lot is small, you can get in and out pretty easily with exit and entry options on both Duarte Road and Santa Anita Ave. I once got suckered in to get him an oil change year with their advertised $29 service. At the time I was driving a 5.7 L full-size Ram truck, And without really consulting me, they put in more than 5 quarts of synthetic oil. When I got the bill, it was more than $90! I generally don't mind babying my vehicles but common courtesy dictates they should have at least had a conversation with me about the additional cost. Pump would not give me a receipt after my purchase and prompted me to go inside to get one when I pressed 'yes'. Went inside and was greeted by a grumpy miserable old man who refused to give me one and blamed the error on me. He proceeded to yell at me to get out. When I refused to leave without a receipt he lost it and came around and approached me and stuck his finger in my face. What kind of business owner does this? I asked him if we should get police involved and then he finally gave me my receipt but threw it on the floor. Why all this drama for a receipt? Come here for cheap gas (not always the cheapest), but stay away if you ever have to deal with the attendant. My entire family comes here for gas for all three of our cars ever since it replaced another gas station over 5 years ago. A few weeks ago, I stopped here for gas and had an issue with accepting payment on one of their machines. Switched cards and even pumps, to no avail. I wanted to pay with cash, but guess what... no one was around, and doors were locked (as mentioned by another reviewer as well). Maybe this is why their gas is so cheap, but this was on a Saturday at 6PM. Fast forward to today (Sunday), I was with my father and he wanted a receipt. He pressed 'Yes' when the machine asked him for one. He waited patiently for quite some time. He then went into the station and asked the attendant for a receipt. The attendant (Indian guy) rudely said, "You didn't press 'Yes,' so no I can't give you a receipt now." My father then replied, "I did press 'Yes' and there's still no receipt." This went back and forth for a bit, until my father suggested that the machine MIGHT be out of paper. The guy scoffed, rolled his eyes, got up from his seat and dragged his feet over to the machine and opened it up. Then all this crumpled up receipt paper started spitting out from the machine. Clearly the machine was clogged up and needed someone to fix it. Instead of admitting there was a problem, the guy then screamed at my dad, "SEE, THERE IS PAPER!" The guy then tore off the portion of my dad's receipt (which finally printed out after the guy unclogged it) and waved it at my dad. My dad then walked away and said, "I don't care if there was paper or not, but there was obviously a problem with your machine. Thanks for fixing it." My local gas station; cheap gas and cheap customer service. In a few sentences, I go there to gas up my 28 gallon truck and 13 gallon car for our (wife) weekly commutes. Today I gased up my truck in the morning and in the afternoon I passed by because I needed air in my tire. The owner had a very bad attitude and even when addressed about his attitude he said "I will give whatever attitude I want to who ever I want." He also yelled at my son to "Shut up!" We simply asked for a printed receipt because the machine did not print our receipt and he would not do a simple request. Not sure how their quality of gas is compared to the more known gas places like 76 and Chevron but how can I say no to cheap gas especially when their gas prices are on par with Sam's Club down the street. The Shell station across the street is pricey compared to World Oil. First time coming here getting gas last week and if I'm in the area again, I would probably come here. I usually go to the 76 Station on Valley Blvd in El Monte as they're cheap but Sam's Club and World Oil are cheaper. Can always count on this place to get cheap gas. read more
