She was hilarious, incredibly knowledgeable, and kept us laughing all day with river guide stories and jokes. One of our favorite parts was when Molly pointed out a Padlé Oarefish. We'd never even heard of one before! She explained they're unusually flat fish, most commonly yellow with blue, red, or pink accents, and they're surprisingly well camouflaged along the river. Such a cool thing to learn! She also showed us a rock formation that looked exactly like Winnie the Pooh wearing a beret and breathing fire. Once you see it, you can't unsee it! The wildlife was unbelievable. We saw bighorn sheep, three otters, geese, blue herons (mud flamingos), a baby deer, a fox catching a fish, and a huge eagle nest. Molly said we're officially her lucky group because they usually only see a couple of those animals, and she'd never seen the deer or the fox on a trip before. Lunch was fantastic too! The "conewiches" were surprisingly delicious. We were a little hesitant because we'd never tried Mediterranean food before, but the homemade Mediterranean salad with feta and kettle chips folded into a tortilla absolutely rocked. I'm still wishing I had Molly's recipe! If you're thinking about rafting in Moab, book the Fisher Towers trip with Red River Adventures. If you get Molly as your guide, consider yourself lucky. You'll leave with great memories, sore cheeks from laughing, and probably a newfound appreciation for the rare and majestic Padlé Oarefish. Oh, and I t's officially Hank's Bubble Bath in our book. We got to swim through one of the rapids which was so fun! The rapids were small but fun. Lunch was delicious - curried chicken salad, chickpea salad, and guacamole cones, with Oreos! Our guide Liz, and Team Leader Aaron made sure we had a great trip - they pointed our animals like wild goats, blue herons, and bald eagles, and Liz really helped make sure we had a great day. To make matters worse, I was told that my cellphone with a waterproof case wasn't necessary, which resulted in a lack of up-close pictures. We arrived at their location downtown Moab a little while after checking into a hotel downtown. They offered to pick us up but it was a nice 10 minute walk to get to their office. It's a nice spot with plenty of last minute necessary's like sunscreen. Within minutes of rallying our group of 6 we were off to the launch point for the tour with our motorized blowup boat. We had a stop along the way at the great wall to see hieroglyphics. The boat ride was great, with information on spots and stories as well. Our guide Josh was excellent. Happy to say we had a great time.

I understand that businesses have cancellation policies, but charging a customer extra in a situation like this feels unreasonable and unfair. A company's customer service is tested when something goes wrong. In my case, there was no flexibility, no empathy, and no attempt to find a fair solution. Jay made it a point to keep the pace slow and easy. Wild West Voyages provided snacks, water, and a great lunch. We spoke with Catherine at Wild West and she couldn't have been more helpful. She booked us for a rafting tour the very next day. I had never heard of Canyonlands and we saw parts that we would never have seen. It was awe-inspiring and so very beautiful. I felt very safe and he taught us a lot about the area but also gave us time just to soak it all in. My favorite part of our trip so far was this ride. We rafted in the afternoon with Evans and Sam. They both worked very hard navigating the rafts, setting up and breaking down the lunch, and loading and unloading rafts. The water is low so it is not a fast moving river but the winds were really strong and pushing against us. Evans kept a great attitude and engaged with everyone and maybe that is just the norm. I was exhausted watching him! We saw a bald eagle fly over and land very close to us and that was a great highlight! Overall, a great day!
