I even got my car stereo installed and a remote car start Everyone there is super helpful and knowledgeable. They helped me get a modest set of speakers from Bowers And Wilkins many years ago that fit my budget then and helped me pick up a much bigger better set when my budget increased as well. I also dipped my toe into my first McIntosh home audio piece after having one of their amps in my car. I really am a fan of two channel audio and vinyl records. They have a person dedicated to tuning your new turntable or putting life in to your old turntable. They also offer more than just stereos. They were the first place that I went to when I wanted to get a smart home. They're able to not only install all the fancy equipment, but they also know how to program it. It wonderful to be able to use your voice to turn on the lights and the music to set the tone for your evening. Buyers beware!!! Don't risk a purchase from Worldwide Stereo Online for a discount! I didn't know this company, just found them online. I was looking for a sale on this stereo equipment and I got HAD! Bought my husband an $1800. Juke wireless receiver for Father's Day. He opened the gift bag and said "I already have a great wireless receiver!" He never even touched it! So, I emailed the company and got a return address label. I got notified the return was received, but weeks later no refund. I email my contact person at Worldwide Stereo and now I get an email saying they can't issue a refund because "the warehouse has identified an issue...the serial number on the Juke doesn't match the serial number on the box." The item was untouched and returned 100% intact in the exact interior and exterior shipping boxes we received it in. IF, there was issue with their serial numbers and packaging, it was their doing, not ours! This is absolutely the most BOGUS experience and interaction I've ever had with a retailer. Shawn Thome responded and answered every one of my questions and gave us a quote that was better than anything I'd had locally, even after considering freight charges. I reached out in June of 2023 via email after I had inquired about upgrading the audio experience in my car. We emailed back and forth about what I was looking for, how to achieve it, etc. Parts were chosen, pricing was agreed upon, and installation was scheduled for August across 2 days. Great! The installation was performed, I was so excited. The sound was kind of "meh" at first, but I was told not to run the system too loud for about 20-25 hours of use for the speakers to break in. After that period, the sound was pretty bad. I called up WWS and it was no problem, with the speakers broken in, it was time to actually tune the system. Great! The sound was actually great and I was happy with the system... Then it got a bit later in the year (late November 2023) and we started having some freezing temperatures overnight. When I would get into the car in the morning things were horrible. Distortion and popping sounds, it was bad. WWS made an appt for me to come in and look. Of course by the time I got in there when they'd open, it was warm and they couldn't replicate the issues. I kept telling them that I thought it had something to do with freezing temps and moisture, based on when the issue was and was not happening... but they kept assuring me it was not that. They replaced the speakers. They replaced the amp. Nothing was helping. And each time I had to make an appt... I had to take a day off from work because it had to be during the week when their installer worked. There were SO MANY missed work days, lost PTO. WWS never did anything to make up for this or compensate me for it, or even to try to share in the pain by agreeing to do some work on Saturdays when they are open. That said, I agreed to it... they couldn't find the issue. It was happening for days at a time without working at all as the temps got colder in Dec. Finally I was determined and ran my car through a carwash on a freezing day and drove over there and got them to verify that I was right all along... moisture was running through the door (which I am told is normal for my car) and freezing on the speakers. That was the issue. So their solution was foam baffles... fine with me. They installed them and the freezing issue was fixed!! But... the sound was horrible. They forgot to open up the backs of the baffles so there was a "resonance" issue. Again... taking time off from work, I had to go up there. They cut open some of the back of each baffle and it helped. Was it great? No... but it was good. Throughout the months that passed I got more and more defeated and started to accept less than perfect. After that, I started to notice that on drives over about 15 minutes, one of the speakers started putting out a high pitched constant tone. You couldn't hear it with music playing, but when it was quiet in the car the sound was maddening and embarrassing if I had others in the car. I reported it along with any information I could think of about when it happens/etc. Their people even witnessed it themselves, but no solution could be found. Their installer, throughout all of these issues, is constantly blaming it on the car manufacturer/stock system, making tons of excuses, blaming me, and developing more and more of an attitude. The initial popping/distortion from freezing, and every other bad sound issue, nothing was ever his fault and he took 0 responsibility for it or for his inability to diagnose any of these issues. Eventually his attitude got so bad that I snapped and for the very first time, developed an attitude of my own. I pushed and pushed and finally got them to agree to replace the amp, where I felt the issue was. They agreed to do it, though the installer was so sure it was not going to help. It fixed the issue, of course! But then my touch screen had no sound and phone calls were silent. He did some adjusting and got those issues straightened out but now music sounded horrible. He told me I had to choose. Phone calls and touch screen sounds or music. What?! They clearly couldn't or wouldn't be able to figure it out... so by using an Equalizer app on my phone (all my music is streamed) I was able to make the music sound ok. Not great, but good. I accepted it. All of the missed time at work and the cost of PTO and gas and time and arguing and feeling frustrated... I just couldn't do it anymore. I accepted it. Well... now I have a new phone and the EQ apps don't work on it. Music sounds horrible. I am sad whenever I am in my car. All of the time and money and frustration and I am so much worse off than when I started. I can't go back to World Wide Stereo. I just can't. read more

Literally one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company. With my original order I was sent a used return from Amazon even though I purchased it directly from them, they gave me a discount and exchange. I wasn't fully satisfied so I was well with the 60 days with my exchange so I was happy to pay the fee and difference for a different tv when I received the new one it arrived damaged with the speakers being dislodged into the back of the tv, I sent all the pictures they wanted even some close ups and they told me they don't see anything wrong with the TV basically indicating that they didn't even look at them because the issue is very obvious but when they finally did see the photos they realized their mistake but instead of owning up to it they are refusing to exchange for my original purchase and only want to refund my order. Bought a leather recliner in 2012. Paid extra for a 5 year warranty. Now its out of warranty and the chair is peeling off its leather skin in small pieces. Have hardly ever used the chair. OK. Go to store to seek help on how to fix this problem and the salesman there couldn't care less about my problem. Almost seemed like I was bothering him. I have spent about $3000 at this business over the years and the fact that they totally blew me off really annoyed me. Seems like they don't stand behind their merchandise. Despite Bob's assurances, the salesman never sent (or resent) the warranty. Ultimately, I had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Then the company sent me a "warranty" that was invalid (no legitimate claim number), as I found out when I contacted the warranty company to check on its validity. Only after I responded to the BBB that the issue had not been resolved, did I finally get a legitimate warranty. So much for the company automatically generating warranties. I would have given another star to the company for eventually sending the warranty, but since it was only due to the BBB filing and not of the company's own volition, I don't think it's deserved. read more

Gavin and Shawn at World Wide Stereo helped me with a family treasure. After buying a cartridge for the turntable I've had since my college days in the 1970's I presented them with a record I was hoping to play. It is a recording of my dad making a speech for a contest when he was in college in 1949!! It was on what looked like a 45. They realized it was a 78 RPM recording. Most turntables can't play those. After carefully cleaning the record they put it on one of their turntables that has a 78 RPM setting and I recorded the sound on my phone. Oddly enough the record played from the inside out. I have shared this treasure with my family. It was especially exciting to share it with my 88-year-old dad. Gavin was just as excited as I was. In his many years in the business, he has never seen an individually recorded 78 from the 1940s. I started buying from World Wide Stereo in my 20's as I was building my first high-quality stereo system. That was in the early 1980s, not long after they opened. I am a 20 year customer of both their auto department and home A/V. They have done absolutely world class over the top customizations of 3 of my cars, especially one, my classic Jag I think they won an installers award for. They have wired many rooms in my house for A/V with two home theater setups and even exterior weatherproof speakers. All done with high end equipment and a quality installation. Their staff is also very polite and professional. 1 star off because even though they have tried to justify a complex install without running conduit, I don't buy it. I recently had a cable failure in a home theater install they did on some new construction about 11 years ago (the first real issue with this in 11 years!). In their defense they did run some extra wire during the initial install and were able to cobble together a solution with adapters and more black boxes/boosters etc... But when your equipment stack is horizontally and vertically almost 50' away from the TV there simply is no substitute for being able to pull new wire through a conduit. There is no way we can anticipate what type of new cable may be needed in the future for new equipment or if the cable will wear or short out. Conduit is pennies per ft to install at construction yet there is absolutely no cheap substitute or work around for it when something goes bad 11 years after install when the walls/floors are all sealed. My advice: go with worldwide stereo, they are the best, but insist on conduit on your install, you'll spend slightly more now but likely save thousands over the next couple decades. read more

I found World Wide Stereo because there was one speaker that no one had (not even Sonos) that I really wanted as part of this system and World Wide had it. So I placed the order late Thursday expecting it to ship Friday. Friday morning I called to amend my order and the gentleman I spoke to was great and said it would not delay the shipping. If I would have received it by Tuesday I would have been thrilled (that would equate to only 3 business days after making a last minute change). Instead, the entire order arrived Saturday (One Day Later!). I'm happy with WWS on many levels. Once upon a time, FM Radio ruled the roost. This was the golden age of rock and roll, when the music they now call classic, was fresh and new. EVERYONE listened to the radio. During those days, Bob and Ron's World Wide Stereo in Mongomeryville ran the most imaginative commercials for its award-winning electronics store. I worked an entire summer at a perfume factory, saving up for the killer system that WWS put together: tuner, receiver, turntable, speakers. It was everything a college kid needed to play albums like Dark Side of the Moon, Abbey Road, I Robot and Aja. The next major system I bought was years later - the big surround sound TV. Again, WWS hit it out of the park. Most recently, I was involved as an advisor in the purchase of a TV system. Once again, WWS came through. Salesman Chad was the mastermind. He came to the house to see the room first and made suggestions that resulted in 2,incredibly happy customers. Their installation team was fantastic. They take copious notes for each customer and a phone call to Chad about an update issue problem was resolved in seconds thanks to the installer writing down what needed to be done. We LOVE LOVE LOVE World Wide Stereo. Great people. Fair prices. Excellent advice. State of the art equipment. THEY figure out how to make the complicated simple to achieve what you want. For starters I'm in Los Angeles, I only came across this shop because they were one of the few who were an authorized seller for LG on the CX OLED on eBay. To be quite frank I only bought it through them via eBay because I have PayPal credit and got 24 month financing 0% interest which is exclusive to eBay and PayPal. This is a review for their car audio department in the montgomeryville location. Had my Accord for 8 years now. Back in 2008 or 2009, I had WW Stereo install a head unit, 2 amps, speakers and a subwoofer while playing nice with my stock head unit. The system couldn't have sounded better, and they even let me bring some of my own equipment. Installation was professionally done with no scratches to the trim of my vehicle. Fast forward to last week where I purchased a new vehicle and took my accord back to have them revert my old car back to mostly stock minus the aftermarket speakers. I made it pretty clear to them that I needed it at the end of the day due to a prior engagement and also because i had to get my sister to drive me there too. Coming from newtown was a pain in the butt, I got stuck in traffic. they close on friday at 6. DOH! they called and asked me how late i would be at around 5:55, and stayed until I got there at around 620. they totally saved my day and have no idea how much i appreciated this. Chris who works in the audio department and the other gentleman who worked the front were both courteous and stand up people. I recommend anyone who is serious about their car's audio to take it here to get a great system installed, and installed professionally. The customer service that I received from them during my order was the best that I have ever received during this kind of purchase. The item I ordered was not in stock, though the site said that it was. Instead of cancelling the order, they made an offer to send me the newer more expensive version of the product at the same price. They could have given me the runaround like other companies have in the past, but it seemed like they really cared about me as a customer and making sure that I walked (figuratively) away happy. I only wish they had a store here in New Hampshire. They have earned me as a lifelong customer and they will be the first, and likely the last place that I check when making these kinds of purchases. Stay Away from this store. They are very snobby and rude. If you are not there to spend several grand, they are not interested in serving you at all. If fact, they "bum Rush" you out the door so you don't "contaminate" their wonderful showroom. I am an "Old School Stereo Guy" that still loves vinyl and vintage turntables. I have an collection of thirteen turntables all from the 1980's. All are fully functional with some minor issues that do not affect actual performance. I brought such a turntable in for WWS's turntable performance check. The moment the WWS tech found a minor defect, he immediately wrapped up the power cord and tossed the turntable aside and said he could not be bothered dealing with it or me. He said he had more important customers to deal with. I was never treated so poorly by a sales/technical person. When I ordered replacement brushes from my record cleaner, the sales person checked to see if I had purchased from the store in the past. I had previously purchased an expensive stereo cartridge. He said, "Is that all?", as if over a hundred dollars was " Chump Change" to them. I'm tired of the insults and rudeness; I will never step foot in WWS again. read more
