Really enjoy this place. My family is owners in WM. Have stayed twice; once during summer 2013 (during the Rim Fire, so it was a little smoky), and once in late October 2013. Definitely will keep coming back. During the day, it is nice to get out and explore. We hit Big Trees state park, Murphys, Columbia State Park, Angels Camp locally, and just generally drove around and ate at different restaurants. The local Starbucks is close by and the employees are all super friendly. WM Angels Camp itself is a very clean and up to date property. They have been performing construction and remodels the two times we were there, and the last room we stayed in was just finished. As with EVERY WorldMark property, the mattresses in the bedrooms are VERY firm with absolutely NO PADDING! Interestingly, the mattress on the Murphy bed was soft and comfortable, so we ended up sleeping out in the living room. Also, as with every stay at every WM, you have to deal with the sleazy sales pitch. After you check in, they send you over to the sales desk where they butter you up with a faux concierge-type nicety and then they start doing the full on body cavity background search to find the right angle to come at you with their invitation for a free breakfast seminar. In the good old days, they used to pretend that you needed a parking pass and that is when they got you. Now, they say you don't need parking passes any more, but for some reason they need to scan your driver's license...FOR THE PARKING! The car I was driving wasn't even mine. ... A little over a week later, I get a letter from WorldMark saying I qualify for a $50K loan and to present the letter to some sales person at the next WM event I attend. I never received these letters after any of my other stays, but this was the first time they slid my driver's license through the thing.... They better have not run my credit. read more

Stayed here a few days ago so we could drive up to the snow in Big Trees in Arnold, CA (about 20 min North). From our home in Livermore its about a 60 - 90 min drive during the week. (we stopped in Copperopolis for lunch Nothing has changed within the resort. Still same great location and home like utilities. It was nice to have the heater on the whole time - unlike our house where we just pile on layers to stay warm hahah. They have all kitchen needs, towels, starting coffee and dish detergent. Staff is super nice and will try to up sell you if you agree to go to a "refersher" owners presentation. But you do get gratis for going. So hold out for the bigger offer if you plan on spending 90 min to hear them out. Angels Camp is a great small Americana town. Great restaurants and people. Someday I will come up here for the Annual Frog Jumping festivites! I love how close this place is to home during the winter so I dont have to drive up to Tahoe to enjoy the snow. read more

This is one of my favorite resorts to visit. There is a lot to do out there no matter when you visit. Or you can do what we do sometimes and that's absolutely nothing ! Just go and relax however you please. The property is big and features 3 hotubs and two pools. The main pool is heated all year round. My daughter loves the pool. There is a basketball court and tennis court. The is jungle gym and a bbq area if you want to picnic outside by the pool. Although there are bbq's on every balcony for every unit. Inside the recreation hall there is a juke box, air hockey table, pool table, and a ping pong table. The is a big screen TV in the as well. The is an arcade and a gym if got want to get your swell on. The lobby had a little gift shop and the are 2 computers for you to use. They is also a little room for the little ones. The staff at the resort are awesome. They are very friendly and will help you with anything you may need them for. The are 1, 2, 3, and 3 bedroom penthouses on property. We have been here many times and love it each and every time. There is so much to do. You drive 15 minutes one way and your in another town. Drive another 15 minutes in another direction and you are in another small town. It's great ! If your want to eat, have a little night life, or do some wine tasting then your want to go to Murphy. If you want to do some antiquing then shop in Angels Camp or run out to Jamestown or Sonora. If you have some gold fever you can head out to the old town of Columbia. Lots of history of there and the town is set to the gold rush time period. All so keepers must dress the part. You can pan for gold at the gold miners shack and even take a tour of an active gold mine. If you want to test your luck you can always go to the Black Oak Casino. There is a great restaurant there as well as a buffet and other little eateries. There is a bowling alley and arcade downstairs. I could go on for days about things to do out there. Oh ya, did I mention boating and fishing at New Melones Lake or exploring all the different caves that are out there. You can even repel and zip line at some of the locations. Also did I mention the resort sits on a golf course?!?! Ya buddy, Greenhorn Creek golf course. So do yourself a favor and book a vacation at the Angels Camp resort. We arrived on Labor Day, immediately after the departure of the big crowd. Luckily, we checked out on the day the ash blew in from the Butte fire. What a perfect mini vacation! There is so much family faire in the area. My 4-year old loved it....the historic town of Columbia (State Park), the Calaveras Big Trees, the caves, and the fly fishing. When you are at the Columbia museum, don't forget to pick up chicken feed so the kids can feed the chickens before you leave. The Savemart nearby had so much great produce and meats we only ate out twice. They stock a good selection of organic produce and the butcher section has a great selection of marinated and pre-stuffed/wrapped meats for the grill. I really suggest you buy all your groceries there if you plan to cook in. Next time, we will remember to only pack drinks and snacks for the road. BTW, their ice cream selection is one of the best I've ever seen. The resort staff was absolutely terrific! After our day trips, the rec center and large pool finished our nights off perfectly. Temps were over 90 each day! The amenities were all open until 10 pm. After sunset, they put a kids flick on the 3 screens around the pool area. Movie night every night at the pool/hot tub was fun for everyone. Even meals where easy to set up near the pool, there were several gas grills and plenty of tables to picnic from. We just filled our cooler up hung and out for hours. The local watermelon is to die for. The rec center also had video and table games (pool, air hockey, ping ping) that kept the kids happy. Just perfect for the hot summer nights. We booked the 3 bedroom penthouse, and it made for a wonderful stay. It was about 2400 sq ft and each room had a full bath with a whirlpool. We are spoiled by the saltwater pools in our hometown, so we soaked the chlorine off in the master whirlpool each night. It was perfectly sized for my husband and I with our 4 year old. The only annoyance (i'm being facetious) was the family of woodpeckers outside our unit, but by the end of our stay we all became good friends. read more

We are owners so we have high expectations to every Worldmark resorts we stay in. Our unit was ready in time...yay! We stayed in the Q building room 287...corner room overlooking the main pool (from the Masters BR). I was pleasantly surprised to see that there's a 2nd floor to the unit where the Masters suite is located...a definite thumbs up! Another plus is the king size bed in the second room, 2 twin beds in the 3rd room plus a murphy bed in the living room. There were 8 of us and there were plenty enough room for everybody. The kitchen is on a small side including a small island but we made it work. The fridge is also big enough to store all the food we brought with us. The recreation room is where the gym was, the pathway to the main pool, and also where the big TV room is. There's also an air hockey, ping pong table, and an arcade room. To the resort management: please buy new sticks for your pool table. They are ALL worn out! For those who plan to cook during your stay, there is a Save Mart about a mile and half away. There's also a Mc Donald's, Stabucks, CVS, Taco Bell, KFC, and Rite Aid close by. read more

This place is lovely and quaint, but I'm hesitant to give it more than 3 (3.5, really) stars because of the following experience: Our reservation was under a parent's name, so when we arrived, they wouldn't allow us to check in. Regardless of the fact that we can the same last name - and our last name isn't something common like Smith - I can understand the policy. But the young lady helping us had just the slightest bit of attitude about it; as if we were two young kids trying to cause trouble. When we finally got the whole thing settled, thanks to the help of other, much more friendly staff, we drove to our building and realized that nowhere had they written down what our room number was. Okay, it's our fault for not remembering it. But what it left us doing was trying our card on all the doors (we knew it was the second floor, and there were only 6 rooms to choose from). The 3rd door opened, and we moved in. The next morning, I heard a sound like someone trying to get in and panicked, but later we got a phone call asking who we were. Turns out, we had actually spent the night in the MODEL room that they use for tours, and the staff was confused when the lock-chain was put on. No one had been in the room for 5 years, and we were the ones to break the spell. Yes, we could have gone back to the desk to confirm our room number. But why the heck did our key even open up the model room anyways? We moved into our REAL room laughing. That awkward but memorable experience aside, this place is a 3-star A-OK. The woodpeckers are cute, the concierge staff is REALLY helpful, the comforters are disappointingly itchy. read more

This is actually called WorldMark by Wyndham, as referenced by yelper Erika G. I came for the weekend with a group of six adults and one baby (mine). We were given a two story, three bedroom town house that was the perfect amount of space AND the perfect walking distance from various amenities such as the spa and the large swimming area (complete with 1 foot deep pool for the kiddies). I stayed in the master bedroom upstairs with the plus-one and the baby. There was more than enough room to accommodate his crib, and we even had a balcony with a view of the surrounding hills as well as a bay window overlooking the neighborhood. Everything is provided for you but the food. There are baking pans, utensils, even blenders and electric mixers. My only gripe is that we couldn't have stayed longer! read more

They are extremely understaffed and it does show. However, they make do with what they can. Our room was clean and inviting, and the penthouse suites have a very unique lay out with the master bedroom upstairs. We loved it! All bathrooms have jacuzzi tubs. MANY negatives, a few positives. Stayed 9/3/11 - 9/8/11 Wyndham owners BEWARE. There is a $65 occupancy tax (we were there 5 nights). There was a small scorpion in one of our bathrooms (2br/2ba condo). As an east coast person, I did not expect them to be in my room, so a warning would have been nice. The front desk woman laughed when I asked if there were poisonous scorpions around. Her question, "why, was someone bitten?" Had one of the people in my room seen it..... there would have been horrible screams coming from our room sounding like someone had just been murdered......they are THAT terrified.......... It is NOT funny, lady. Huge pool and spa, means you can avoid obnoxious people. Not a heated pool, and only goes to 5 ft. You have to PAY to use the pool or air hockey table???? We haven't paid ENOUGH?? Passed the damn place on the road for the first 3 nights bc their damn sign light wasn't on, to name the hotel. "Every night: oh someone will fix that" No free shampoo??? ......How much have we paid again???? I get free shampoo from $40/night places! The BBQ was nice to have, and veryy user friendly, the dirty dishes we showed up to in the cabinets the first night, not so much. We asked for a first floor room without stairs because one in my party has major knee issues. We were told there were only a couple shallow ones. There were EIGHT. We asked for directions to Sacramento, you know, that MAJOR city? More like-- which route is fastest, 49/16 or 5 or 99 etc. The person at the desk who picked up my call, and YES I remember your name....barely had a clue. The second room had TWIN beds. I haven't slept in one of those since my childhood room. Give me a flippin break. I pushed them both together to make a king. This room also had one useless light, and no TV. Thanks. Like a punished 8 yr old. Pocket doors. They suck, and they are on every bathroom. Who wants to fumble with those when nature is calling??? Moldy ceiling above the shower, dirty floors, and only half of the stove burners worked. One of the nice maintenance guys lent us two shovels to go gold-panning with. We returned the favor and donated our bucket to the hotel. Nice guy. Mostly nice people behind the desk. A few more exceptional than others. Place is not near ANYthing, except your basic stores. Convenient in that sense, but I am not on vaca to go to Ace, McDonalds, or rite aid, etc. We stayed her to go to the annual Pow-Wow and to Yosemite. But it was an hour and 3-5 to get to each, respectively (luckily we went to Yosemite on the day we were driving to the "resort".. avoided a round trip nightmare) CRABBY wine-tasting woman. Individual complimentary room spice packets like garlic, pepper flake and cinnamon meant you could cook and not go have to go out for small things like that. Speaking of which, can't you carry oil/butter and milk in the "store" so that you don't have to trek out to the grocery store? NUMBER ONE PROBLEM YOU HAVE TO PAY $5 PER DAY FOR INTERNET???????? The customer service here needs help! Managers and staff.. and here's why I say this.. I checked in Sunday night (last minute booking) when I got to my room the TV would not work. Mind you, I am a local and using this place as a temp home while our house is finished. If I was on vacation I would care less about TV. Anyways, maintenance came to our room and stayed until 9:30, it's late now and I'm over TV. We needed sleep to get to work the next day. So I gave maintenance my work times and allowed him access to come in while I'm away and fix the issue. In the morning I find that there is BLOOD on the wall! I leave maintenance a letter asking him to use chemicals of some sort and clean it up. Which I believe is a practical approach to a situation like that. When my husband and I get "home" from work TV is still not fix and we spend another night with maintenance. So in the morning, mind you we are on day 3 of our stay and check out the next day I FINALLY get a voicemail from a manager. They offer us free WIFI or DVDs, haha! I'm in America I don't need your WiFi and that should be free regardless. The rude front desk lady says that's all they can offer me or I can move rooms. I'm on my last day so I'm not moving rooms. I ask to stay one more night at a discounted rate for our trouble, being that is such an easy request and our home remodel needs more time. They say they cannot help me. So I just spent my week at WorldMark Angels camp paying full price in my quiet no tv bloody room! Fantastic! Here's the thing, this is a small town and I operate one of the busiest tasting rooms in this county. My job is to educate travelers on our area and give recommendations for lodging and activities along with pouring them delicious wine. I will not recommend worldmark nor will I have good things to say about this establishment. Upper management, get it together and start training your employees to say yes and smile. My wife and I stayed here for my daughters wedding. The room was fantastic. Separate bedroom, Murphy bed in the living room, sofa bed. Fireplace and full kitchen rounded out the deal. Heck, we could live there it was so nice. No complaints about that. Now for the irritating part. We purchased the WiFi for $4.95 a day. However the Wi-Fi, for lack of a better word, sucked. Most of the time we were unable to reach the sites we wanted/needed to see. When we were checking out I brought this to the attention of the desk clerk who told me the Wi-Fi had been unreliable since they painted and removed the antennas. Well why offer it if it doesn't work? And how about a refund of what we paid for it? The other irritating part was the sales pitches. I don't mind being asked once. If I say no, that means NO! The second time the guy wouldn't give up. After my 5th time saying no he hung up on me. If I wrote this review based solely on the room it would be 5 stars, but the negatives knocked two stars off. read more

This is normally where I stay if I'm in Gold Country for work a few nights per quarter. I'm not entirely sure why there is such a massive resort out here but I'm so glad there is. This is consistently one of my favorite places to stay. There are gorgeous views, great rooms with full kitchens, lots of local things to do, a great golf course, and great amenities at the resort like two pools, several hot tubs, basketball, playground, etc. The staff is always super friendly and willing to help me find new things to do. In the rare times that anything is wrong (like a strange noise from the ice maker) they send someone out right away. My ice maker was good to go within 10 minutes. If you are looking for a place to go to get away from the hustle and bustle then you should consider a trip to the Angels Camp Worldmark. You'll love it! read more

Clearly, there are advantages to buying into a timeshare (see previous review for some tips). Making breakfast in our home away from home saved us a LOT of money, and we were able to relax instead of scrambling around to get dressed and go out. The property is well-maintained, and sure beats using a motel/hotel bed as our couch. I am uploading photos of our 1-bedroom unit. We bought it on "bonus time" for $50.00 a night. On our last night, we had a family who moved in upstairs and the kids loved racing up and down the stairs... it sounded like they were jump roping above us, too. They settled down my 10pm, though, but were up bright and early on our check out day. Perfect timing! read more

I have stayed at the property 3 times prior(first 2 times it was an ok experience). I had to wait almost an hour to check in cause there were 1 person working the front desk and 5 people walking around waiting for their timeshare sales victims. Finally got the key. Walked into the room- dirty, literally noone cleaned the floors, hair in the bathroom- disgusting. Called the front desk, noone is picking up. Cleaned ourselves. However, my recent experience put the final nail in the coffin. Kids wanted to go to the snow and it was the only place available. Decided to go for it. I have booked a reservation thru Chase card but had to cancel due to coming down with a flue. A reservation was non-refundable, however, a normal hotel would work with their longtime customers to come up with a solution. After 2 days of running around and calling 4 different numbers, I was told to take a hike and that my history of staying at the hotel and I quote now "did not matter" according to the policy. I lost my money, but you lost more than one customer, that I can assure you of. read more

I married into this WorldMark exclusive club thing and I have to confess, I was very skeptical at first thinking timeshares are a scam and made specifically for suckers. Since that time I have come to learn that WorldMark is a whole different animal. It's rather a group of facilities dotted around the globe that I get to call my home away from home simply by making my reservation and coughing up yearly acquired credit points. What do I have to do to get the points? Nothing... Granted, my wife is 15 years vested into this organization so we have enjoyed all of these resort treasures for the past 5 years and will continue to enjoy them until we die for the price of local hotel tax. Not too bad a deal for a couple of 40 somethings. This resort in Angels Camp is so frickin' beautiful and is a full-on condominium from soup to nuts. Nested in between the giant oaks of Mark Twain frog jumpin' country located in Calaveras County, this place ROCKS! Come here, you won't regret it... read more

I spent the weekend here for my birthday a couple years ago. It was one of the most memorable birthday ever. My friends and I got a 3-bedroom townhouse that was humongous and well presented. The view from the large balcony was beautiful. We enjoyed two of the pool areas and the tennis courts. My only complaint was that it was a really long drive out to the middle of nowhere. Start driving early so that you can maximize the serenity of the area and the resort. read more

Pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem! I planned a last-minute trip to Worldmark Angel's Camp. The room was nicer than expected; my 5 year old said she wants to live here lol. The beds and couch were comfortable, and the room came with an outdoor grill on our private patio. We enjoyed daily trips to their main pool and watched Cars 3 for an outdoor movie night. The resort staff are super friendly and made frequent calls to make sure we had everything needed. But the biggest surprise was the friendly sales reps, Jami and Kevin. I reluctantly agreed to a sales presentation during this trip and for the first time, I left there thinking it was a very good use of my time! It was quite informative and felt more like a coaching session than a high pressured sales pitch. Our family will definitely be coming back to Angel's Camp! read more

I loooooooooove all worldmarks, its hard to say if its inexpensive, bc if you are not an owner, you can only stay at the resort as a guest of an owner.... BUT I loved the view! our room over looked the golf course and we were able to watch the sunset from our room. The rooms were clean (like always) and absolutely perfect! I do agree with another review about aggressive staff, we were 'encouraged' to join the presentation (the offer of a gift card was very nice, plus... there was free breakfast!) BUT we were called the day before to confirm, we were left a note on our door the night before and we were called in the morning to confirm again. BUT I am now an owner now and I never have to go again! Becoming a owner was something my fiance and I wanted to do in the future so it was not a huge deal, I just don't like being bothered.... we're on vacation!! but I loved it our trip! We drove to Dublin, took the bart to San Francisco and spent one full day exploring and the next day went to Mercer Caverns and wine tasted in Murpheys (ps I recommend Wild Heart Winery) read more

Recently stayed here for a week. Friend of mine let me use their timeshare. I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. We had a two bedroom and it was huge. Everything was clean and neat when we got there. The check in process fine, once you check in your forced to talk to the sales person otherwise you don't get your parking pass. They however were not pushy at all. Once I stated I was not interested in attending the seminar, she then helped me to find a local restaurant for dinner and information on things to do. The recreational area has a lot for kids to do, the arcade is expensive $1 per game. The pools are nice and clean. Overall I was really pleased with this hotel. The staff was super friendly. I am so pleased with the facilities and my condo. I couldn't ask for more. Checking in was a little bumpy, but that's expected with the amount of people that were checking in at the same time as me. I'm a time share resort owner of another resort, but my grandmother owns here and keeps telling me her's is so much better. So when she offered to book my family at this resort I took her up on it. So here's my pro's and con's of this resort: Pro's: 1. Close to the caverns, Big Trees, wine tasting, and lakes. 2. had a private grill and balcony Cons: 1. Room-Beds very firm even with topper, No spa tub- wrap around porches or leather couches(only in penthouses), electric stove, no ceiling fans in room, walls very thin, and no toiletries (would have been nice to mention this fact), ac didn't keep room very cold. read more

What a great surprise with all the fun things a family can do in Angels Camp. The resort was one of the best we've stayed at with all the newly remodeled buildings and amenities. Staff was really helpful as usual and the pools and hot tubs were always clean and ready everyday. You have to try New Melones Lake Marina and get out the water toys. Always ask for a Worldmark discount wherever you go because every place we went including the cavern tours gave us at least 10% discount. read more

Like all Worldmark properties, they are mostly well cared for. We had a couple of issues, that were taken care of within 24 hours. The only reason I give them 4 stars is they have the world's smallest toilets. We've never seen ones this small and this low. Almost child size!! We had a wonderful stay at Worldmark at Angels Camp. The front staff were great from start to finish, friendly, courteous, and helpful. The unit (two level 2 bedroom, 2 bath) was very clean with the main bedroom upstairs and the second bedroom downstairs with the kitchen and living room. Also, there is a full-size Murphy bed if needed. The kitchen was very well stocked. There was a balcony with table, chairs, BBQ and a great view of the hills and golf course. Also, there is a fitness center and outdoor swimming pool at the reception center/clubhouse. Departure was very easy as housekeeping did everything. The town of Angels Camp is just a few minutes away with good restaurants and supermarkets. Also a lot of wineries and wine tasting nearby, especially in Murphys, about 20 minutes away. read more

If I could give no stars I would this is my first yelp review ever!! iam so angry and disappointed in this company ever since Wyndham has been a part of worldmark that I want no part of them ever again!!! We have been members for over 10 years at platinum status so our kids & grandkids could continue to enjoy what we thought was a good thing .. but from the moment we got here it's been a total disaster with absolutely disrespect at every turn I don't know what will happen from here? But we sure won't be returning here I feel personally as though I have been discriminated against .. was I not dressed appropriately because I had hiking clothes on? Was it because I asked to go to the pool and you said I had to call in ahead to make an appointment? That you neglected to tell us that when we booked our time here? I can go on and on but what's the point? Except that I need to release some of this frustration And disappointed with a company who no longer cares about their owners Where I used to recommend and talk up this company to my family and friends I will know be advising against joining in anyway read more

I stayed as a guest of an owner and it was a mostly pleasant experience. The one bedroom I stayed in was clean and had a nice view of the golf course next door. I appreciated that the full kitchen was stocked with basic pots, pans, and dishwater and even had little seasoning packets, and some salt and pepper. There's also a BBQ grill and dining set on the balcony! What I didn't like was that there was no shampoo/conditioner. You had to purchase it from the hotel if you didn't want to drive down to the drug store. What kind of hotel doesn't provide complimentary basic toiletries like shampoo??? Similar situation with the coffee and tea. They give you one bag of regular grounds and one bag of decaf coffee and a few packets of tea with a note saying they were gifts from the staff and that you can purchase more if you finish those. No thanks. As mentioned by previous reviews, parking can be frustrating at night when everyone's back from their daytime activities. I was fortunate enough to always find a spot in front of our building but it was always a tight squeeze with everyone else's SUVs and mini vans. The noise here leaves something (more soundproofing) to be desired. All three nights I stayed, there were families with children staying above us, which is fine. But I could hear all of what sounded like heavy heavy purposeful footsteps at every hour of the day that I was in the hotel. That's obviously not the hotel's doing but maybe more insulation between walls and floors would be a good remodel point. What really bothered me about the noise in the hotel was the housekeepers. After the first family above and our next door neighbors left, a housekeeper banged, yelled, and slammed the doors while doing his job, even with our bright "do not disturb" sign on our door. Our bedroom is in the front of the building so we had a pretty rude awakening early in the morning and couldn't fall back asleep because of the noise. This is a very difficult review to make. I would give the facility and the location 5 stars but the Front desk staff/Sales I would give negative stars to. We are members, long time members of worldmark. So much so that when we check in at this facility were told that we are VIP members. Unfortunately no matter where you go within the worldmark system you can guarantee your check in process will take at least 30 minutes because of the BS that you have to listen to...even as an owner! The hard sales tactics come out so much that you feel as though you're trying to buy a used car from The highest pressure salesperson you can imagine. Not really what 1 looks forward to after A-day of travel and you only want to get into your Room to relax and unwind. But no problem as the years have past we've come to expect the high pressure sales bullshi# that you get when you check in and we'd become OK with that because it usually stops their. After a trip to Angels camp last weekend we got the normal check in sales pitch that we expected at 9:00 p.m.! Honestly we were thought that we could avoid this crapp because of the time that we check in but oh no the high pressure sales team came out. Now remember that they had us pegged as vips. As supposed VIP members they decided to stick us right across from the check in office which was also right across from the pools and the recreation Room. What they don't tell you is that they start playing stupid music at about 7:30 a.m. on their outside loud speakers for the rec Room and the pools but anybody within stone's throw can hear it in their bedrooms while they're trying to sleep making it next to impossible. And this is how they treat VIPs! Lets fast forward to the very next morning. I mistakenly forgot something in my car and went out to get it which was parked directly in front of my Room. As soon as I came back in within about 90 seconds the phone started to ring. Who do you think it was? Reluctantly we answered the phone and lo and behold it was their sales team! The same team that we told during check in that we were not intrested in attending their stupid breakfast. They offered us at 1st a $100 to go to the breakfast after I refused they bumped that up to $200. Again we refused because we had already made plans for our special trip that we rarely get out to do because we've got 2 young children and finding babysitters for a weekend is difficult. After what seemed like an eternity on the phone to explain to these people that were trying to force us into breakfast that we were not intrested even for $200 We were finally able to end the call and move forward with our day. My wife and I had a fantastic time In Murphy's and angels camp! It's an absolutely beautiful area and one that we wish that we could live in unfortunate were too young to retire. An absolutely beautiful location to go out and enjoy some couples therapy. When we were done with our day and we returned home around 9:00 p.m., now remember they parked us right in front of the hotel lobby, again within 90 seconds of walking into her door The phone rings. Reluctantly we answered simply because we have family watching our kids and they could potentially have called us so we're kind of stuck having to answer the phone. As soon as we answer, after 9:00 p.m., it's the front desk staff calling to again explain how they never off for $200 to a member to go to breakfast and how an amazing opportunity it is and they don't normally see this much money being offered for breakfast and after A-day of wine tasting and being tired the last thing that you want to hear from a place that you're already a member of for many many years who claims that you are a VIP is being harassed to go to the same breakfast that you just turned down. Again after what felt like an eternity we were finally able to aunt and at that call. About 15 minutes later I realized that I forgot something in the car again. So I went out to the car and came back in and within 90 seconds again! The phone rings and it's the front desk staff trying to call and encourage us to go to the same breakfast that we had already denied several times regard less of the stupid $200 that they offer! At this point I told my wife it was her turn to answer and she did and we both became livid incredibly angry at the place that we pay good money to to stay because even as members you're still required to pay a stupid $100 cleaning fee. At this time we were at the end of our rope my wife is very business like a very professional and refused to drops of 4 letter words. Stayed here as a guest of a owner, only because it was FREE! Let's see where to start... hmmm. - Check in was quick and easy. - Agreed to a 90 minute presentation just to get a FREE 3days/2 nights stay vacation. - Found parking right in front of the unit. - Room was spacious and clean. And it begins... just when I thought it was safe to leave the perfect parking spot to have myself a nice dinner, I came back to no parking spots by the building I was in. Had to drive to the other building and took someone else's parking spot and trek back up the driveway without sidewalks to my unit, praying no one drives down the driveway around the corner and runs me down. THEY NEED TO HAVE ASSIGNED PARKING FOR EACH UNIT! 8pm- got a reminder that the presentation starts at 10:30 the next morning. That led me to ask if they will accommodate me since I was attending their 90 minute presentation and it will be precisely 12pm (check out time) when the presentation ends. Needless to say I wasn't accommodated, had to check out before 10:30. Now, it is 10pm and I'm sitting down watching TV when out of nowhere, I hear the little girl in the next unit yelling out to her dad for shampoo and and a towel. WOW, walls are super thin. Then at 11pm as I sat out on the patio enjoying the night air and wine before turning in, I can hear the upstairs kids running and jumping back and forth the entire length of the unit out into the patio. I didn't mind it so much since I was still awake. But then they continued running and jumping adding in screaming up until 1am. Really!? I was so tempted in going up to their unit and pound on their door and tell them to knock that sh*t off but I didn't feel like it was worth my breath and time. SOUND PROOF THE UNITS! 8:00am... Morning has arrived. Just finished my coffee when the phone rings, it was a reminder that my presentation starts at 10:30 and breakfast will be provided. Oh nice, I don't have to go get breakfast. So, I packed my bags and trekked back down the parking lot to get my car and drive back to my unit to load up my bags. Went to check out EARLY and headed to the presentation building. ACCOMMODATE UR GUESTS IF WE AGREE TO UR 90 MINTUES PLUS PRESENTATION! 10:30am... waiting. 11am... finally meet the salesman and was offer what was left of the breakfast they had to offer. Pancakes. That was all they had left. 60 minutes gone by, I'm not sold. I like to know more about the company and do my own research. 2 managers came to try and persuade me 2 separate times but I wasn't gonna budge. Yeah, my credit is good but I wasn't gonna sign up! They wouldn't let me leave without offering me every possible package they can get me. By this time, it was 1:30, I'm hungry and thirsty and was already getting irritated but I didn't want my friend who is an owner get a bad rep so I tried to be as nice add possible. 20 more mintues of me trying to be nice turned into me having to say "I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO SELL ME, I AM NOT INTERESTED IN SIGNING UP, AND GIVING U ALL THIS MONEY! MY FRIEND MAY HAVE SIGNED UP AND MAY ENJOY UR RESORTS BUT I DO NOT SPEND MY VACATION SITTING INSIDE A ROOM. I DO NOT NEED THE FULL KITCHEN, GRANITE COUNTERTOPS, AND DINING ROOM. I LIKE TO SPEND MY VACATION EXPLORING WHAT THE TOWN/CITY HAS TO OFFER. THANK YOU FOR TAKING UP 3.5HRS OF MY LIFE BUT I MUST LEAVE NOW." That got the salesman to thanked me for my time and gave me my certificate for my free 3days/2 nights stay. 2pm- got in my car and drove my hungry and thirsty self out of there. *The more pushy they got with me, the more irritated I got with them. Most memorable from our visit were: -The winding roads to get here (so think twice before heading out when dusk settles in.) -I missed the entrance twice because my GPS isn't updated. I may have missed a sign that says "This way to WorldMark by Windham" but I swear I didn't see any. Good navigational skills come in handy. -I checked myself and my little girls in as guests of my aunt, who was running late. I encountered no problem at all--until I was passed on to sales. I thought I would just be given a parking pass and would be on my way. We've had a long trip, after all. But no, I had to listen to overly-friendly staff who was promoting the resort and cleverly scheduling me into attending a sales talk meeting during my stay. I guess it didn't matter that my two little girls were showing signs of boredom and impatience already. So okay, what do I have to lose? All I have to do is show up and get a $70 or so gift card. Paperwork begins and Miss All-Smiles asks, "Is your husband with you today?" I say, no, and no, he's not coming at all. And suddenly it's "Oh, I'm sorry. You have to come in with your partner." It's like, "Why didn't you ask that question in the first place?!" I could have just gotten that parking pass and went on my way after all. And we would've both saved ourselves from bullsh*$ing each other. -The buildings are easy to find as they are labeled with big letters. Our building had two levels and we got a second floor unit. The unit was pretty neat. It already looked comfortable--definitely a home away from home. One room with 2 twin beds and a full bath to share in the hallway, Master bedroom with king bed, bay window, walk-in closet and master bath (no jacuzzi tub) located upstairs. Fully-equipped kitchen (with island and counter stools), dining table for 6, living room, fireplace, flat-panel tv, dvd player, iPod dock and a Murphy bed tucked in neatly against a wall closet. Oh, and did I mention washer-dryer and a good-sized patio with your own gas grill for your perusal?! Pretty darn cool. It's perfect if your weekend gets rained in.
