I just recently purchased a few unique fish such as SA puffers, Ballon belly Rams, etc. I contacted Danny to explain my situation as I was replacing fish that passed and I had to do a total shutdown, clean, and restart, but, because of the difficulty finding the SA puffers (and at a reasonable price), I wanted to order them. Danny explained that they sent fish out on Mondays, but, if I needed that extra time, he would be happy to send it out a week later. Danny was true to his word and these fish arrived overnighted on Tuesday. They are beautiful and you can definitely tell they were carefully packed with the idea they might not be handled gently even though the box was marked perishable. This past year I made multiple orders online to have fish shipped from me, from from the new owner of Worldwide Fish and Pets. Through most of the orders a few fish would die here and there and the owner told me that he would refund the money. After awhile I went back through my credit card statements and noticed that he was more often then not, not refunding the money back on to my card. When I added up all the fish that he owed me, it came out to around 500 dollars. I told him this and he refused to refund me the money, saying that he would only give me store credit even though most of the fish I ordered were out of stock, on top of that expecting me to pay shipping. Also when I had asked if I needed to quarantine his fish; he had said I did not need to worry about doing that. Yet on one occasion I had fish that had come in with some kind of parasite inside of all of them and then another where they had ICK, which ended up killing the other fish in the tank. read more

I ordered a pair of Jaguar cichlids 5 days ago I paid thru PayPal. They sent me a confirmation email. Now it's gets ridiculous. I spend well over $250 on fish here in total and my last batch ($56) didn't even last a day, when I went back the very next day and he told me he would give me a credit if I bring a water sample in. I'm from California and ordered from Lou online. He was really helpful over the phone and really took the time to answer my questions. The package arrived the next day around midday. The packaging was a bit messy with no heat packs (but it's summer so should be fine) BUT all fish were healthy and alive. Fish came in a bit pale but after a few days really colored up! Ordered a rope fish on 2/5/24, received it on 2/8/24 due to the zip code issue. The heat pack was ice cold, the bag had popped & leaked water everywhere & the fish was dead. I sent an unboxing video & picture of the fish as per the request for a refund or new fish instructions. They didn't get back to me til a day later when I prompted them again. They said they would refund, I asked for a new fish where I was willing to pay shipping again (mind you next day air was something like $54.) They agreed to send a replacement that following Monday but never did due to a snow storm, told me they would ship it that Wednesday... that came & went & no answers when I would call, text or email. This shop exploits exotic animals and the owner acted like a bully. I was shopping in the same plaza one day and I could hear baby parrots screaming all the way into the parking lot. Concerned, I stepped in to see what was going on. When I questioned (in a civil manner) the owner, he told me to get the hell out of his store and escalated the issue. Then he approached me as if to physically intimidate me. While I was in the store, I saw many baby parrots packed into a cage with no mother, screaming. This business ships animals like they're cargo and if you look at the pictures on their Google account, the fish look sick. One reviewer had pictures of the store where one bird had no feathers on the chest, crust on his beak and several birds were in tanks with pine shavings! Tanks are not for birds. And, Pine shaving are very bad for animals in tanks because these small animals (and especially birds) have very sensitive respiratory systems and pine dust makes it very hard for them to breath. Also fish are not disposable. They are living breathing beings and can suffer as any animal can. Please consider never buying "exotic" animals if you truly love them because this business causes immense suffering. read more

What a wonderful place! I ordered a lot of fish online, 41 to be exact (sent from Connecticut all the way to California). All of them came alive! The owner even added a couple of extra fish to make sure that when they came, if anything did happen, I would have extra. Earlier they weren't able to send them since there were storms in the area but unlike some other reviews that I read they waited until the weather got better and sent them all about 2 weeks later:). I'm super happy with their online shipping and service (I have called multiple times for personal questions and each time they were kind, helpful, and understanding). A+ place for variety and great prices on freshwater fish (especially discus). There are only two guys that work there so it can get a little busy on Sundays when they get their shipments in, but it's worth it because they're super friendly and really know what they're talking about. I've gone there for help diagnosing my tank and I've never been given bad advice. As an added bonus, I like that they don't sell puppies/ kittens from mills like some other small pet stores in the area that I no longer support. read more

Ordered online a few months ago, staff was helpful and friendly over the phone. The order was unfortunately delayed because of bad timing. They didn't upgrade their site, however, and 2 of the types of fish I ordered were unavailable. Inconvenient and fairly easily avoidable. But whatever, I'm fine with switching a few fish, even though it was rather disappointing. Replacements were worked out and all seemed to be going fine. The order came on the day it was scheduled and all the fish were alive. However the shrimp I ordered were tiny, the rainbow goby was not in fact a rainbow goby, but some other coloration of goby, and the feather fins are not even the same fish. (They're red, assuming some type of danio?) The shrimp were so small to the point where putting them in my tank most definitely led to their deaths. At that point, I felt pretty defeated by the process and gave up on trying to get the fish I had wanted. I regret that now, for the rainbow goby was the fish I had anticipated the most. They all came alive and are doing well, (besides the shrimp obviously) but I am extremely disappointed that my goby isn't the correct one, and that they thought they could swap out my feather fins without asking, or thought maybe I wouldn't notice that they were completely different fish. They could've had a mix up, but that seems unlikely since the owner and I had a conversation about the feather fins when we were figuring out the replacement fish. Overall a fine, but slightly disappointing experience. I don't think I'll be ordering any fish online for a while, and if I do, I don't think they're going to be from here. The fish are beautiful and healthy, but it was just not a great enough outcome for the issues I faced in the process and end result. read more

Best fish store in the state. Great selection of fish, and the owner and his staff are incredibly knowledgeable and go the extra mile for their customers. They want to make sure you're happy and your fish thrive--it's absolutely refreshing and exactly how customer service should be. Prices are good and they have a great variety of fish, plants, and equipment in stock. They also have a nice selection of birds and some small furry animals if that's your thing. If you want personalized service and down to earth staff, this is the place to go. I've found some gorgeous fish here and they're most concerned with shooting you straight about how to build a harmonious tank. I'd give them more stars if it were an option. read more

This store saved my fish. I had been going to Petco for advice on treating my fish for fin rot. Petco suggested two expensive products that did absolutely nothing, except to make my fish sicker. After almost two weeks of trying the products Petco gave me my fish looked like he was on his last limb. He would sink to the bottom of the bowl and only come up for air. Completely fed up with Petco's incompetence, I googled fish store and found this one. I called right away and the employee knew exactly what to do. They gave me medicine, plants for my fish, and worms all for free. They really cared about my pets well being and after I went home and did everything they said, my fish's behavior changed within a matter of minutes. It has only been a day but he is already back to his old self. I am indebted to this store, will now frequent only them and suggest that everyone else do the same. read more

I went to their new location yesterday and was hugely impressed. The tanks are bright and clean with sparkling water and no dead fish. The fish are all active and appear healthy. There is no overcrowding in the tanks and the fish look comfortable and relaxed. There is a large selection of discus fish in gorgeous colors. They were interested in the customers and crowded at the front of the tank if you interacted with them. Extremely impressive is the fact that the bettas are kept in the large aquariums with compatible fish and are not imprisoned in tiny unheated bowls as they are in most stores. This assures that the customer gets an unstressed healthy fish instead of one that is half dead already from mistreatment. He also has ramshorn snails and is getting in other species as well as shrimp. No other pet or fish store in the area has snails and most have only a few shrimp, if they have any at all. They have a large selection of HEALTHY plants and I spent far too much (especially as I had intended to only go to look.) The owner threw in a free plant I had never seen so that I could try it. He also gave me a nice piece of wonder stone for free because it was my first visit. He can't afford to do this a lot and make a profit, but his friendliness combined with the healthy fish and plants is definitely an inducement to come back even though it's about a 40-minute drive for me with traffic. He also has a selection of cockatiels for sale. They are in large cages and look healthy and happy. He also has a big cage of either grass or Bourke's parakeets, a pretty, gentle quiet bird, very different from the typical parakeet. He usually has some handfed conures for sale. One of them wanted to sit on my hand and have me scratch. If I hadn't had to leave he would have been quite happy to take a nap on me. He also has a big macaw and an Amazon parrot you can visit with, but be sure to watch your fingers! All in all, it was an exceptional experience and when I get ready to set up my new tank I will definitely be returning to purchase fish here. read more

I just found this place and was so glad I saw it come up on Google! I had been looking for a mate for my angelfish and first went to Petco, then Petsmart and neither had them in stock. They also didn't really know much about the fish that they had. When I went to worldwide fish they had a HUGE selection of all kinds of freshwater fish. The guys at the store were extremely helpful and actually gave me great advice about my tank regarding which plants my pleco wouldn't eat and how to reduce the algae growth. We bought a few plants and they even gave us free dill weed to try! The store is just starting up since they moved locations but I will surely be back when they have their grand opening soon! I highly recommend this place to anyone who has a home aquarium. They are very knowledgable and reasonably priced with a great selection. read more
