I have made more progress in the last 3 months than I've had in 6 years. Living in pain is scary, frustrating, and debilitating. I have seen exactly 4 pain management doctors here in Texas and Dr. B is the one I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone struggling with pain. He is one of the kindest and most intelligent doctors I have ever met. He is patient, understanding, and is a very attentive listener. Always smiling, never judging, I feel safe with Dr. B. I can't say I've ever felt as safe as I do or trusted a pain management doctor the way I do with Dr. B. He is open and honest and doesn't dance around anything. His bed side manner truly is a class act. It is always a pleasant experience from check in to check out. Ashley is always smiling and ridiculously pleasant. His MA Tony, is phenomenal. She just said okay and hung up. Two of the times I called, there were roosters and barking in the background so I know their scheduling is working remote. Not a good idea with the service and whoever is doing the follow ups. I want to reach out to the doctor so he knows about his staff but I can't get a hold of him without going through the front desk. This was the first neurologist who I consulted with after moving to DFW. He had me on Nadolol for migraines which did nothing to help me whatsoever. I asked to have a MRI done numerous times over a 3 month period, but he refused until my Chiropractor wrote him a letter demanding it. The 1st MRI report came back with a 8mm cerebellar tonsil herniation consistent with Arnold Chiari Malformation I and said a 2nd MRI should be done of my C and T Spines to rule out the existence of a syrinx (Syringomyelia). Luckily, those were negative. TheBrickWall was 30 minutes late to my appoinment and when we finally got back to his office he showed me the films from the first MRI and pointed to where my brain had literally fallen out of my skull and said. "See that part of your brain, it's not supposed to be there. Deal with it, there is nothing that can be done" (There had been a week between 1st MRI report and this appointment so I had already spent days researching the condition online). He proceeded to pull every disease/condition known to man out of his southern-most orifice to explain my symptoms as something OTHER than Chiari. My migraines are "hormones", the normal-every-day headaches are "too much OTC-medicine withdrawal", the numbness in my arms and hands is "carpal tunnel", the eye-twitches and the ringing in my ears and hearing loss is "too much aspirin", the stiff neck is from, of all things, "stress". We left this appointment to go to another appointment with my Chiropractor who had all of her reference books out and ready. She spent over an hour with us explaining my new condition to me... and how, she could no longer treat me. Martin Solomon... the first of many doctors who knew nothing and yet attempted to make me feel stupid by making up other conditions to cover his ass. Stay away from this neurologist... you will leave wanting to bang your head against a brick wall.

I inquired with the nurses about pain medication but was told that they couldn't give me anything without an actual diagnosis when I was confused about why my husband elbowed me in the ribs and told me about junkies. It never occurred to me... They did recommend the heat/cold packs and OTC medications though, I thanked them but those hadn't been helping as I'd been trying them already. It took a total of three visits before I got a diagnosis, which was very frustrating. The first visit included the X-Ray, the second was the MRI only and the third was the conclusion with the doctor. I'd had inflammation, for an unknown reason as there was no actual injury, and then I got a steroid injection. I'm now 95% pain-free from not being able to move my dominant arm without severe pain going from the time I wake up to the time I finally fell asleep. I'd even wake up in the middle of the night because I'd moved wrong and it made the shoulder angry. Dr. Harris recommended a specific Physical Therapy office (Premier Rehab Physical Therapy, I chose the one in Keller) and thank goodness he did because I LOVE THEM. Hopefully by the end of my rehab I'll be back to where I should be. Only time will tell. Dr. Harris doesn't beat around the bush, he isn't in a hurry but he gets down to business. He explains things in a way that's easy to understand and gives a good expectation of what should happen. While I hope I don't ever need to see him again, I will go back and I will refer friends and family should they need him.

No further help from United. Not even a glimmer from NT PHysical Insurance gestapo Caught in admin hell!
