I was bleeding from my head (if you don't know it yet, a head wound is a bleeder for a long time). So I elected to pay out of pocket and go to Evergreen for stitches. When it was time to remove the stitches, I called Evergreen in advance to ask them how much it would cost to remove them at Evergreen or if I should go to Kaiser with a $20 copay. The representative on the phone told me that stitch removal was a part of the $570 I paid out of pocket. Then I got a bill from Evergreen saying I owed $146 for stitch removal. This is a disgusting practice and Evergreen should be ashamed of themselves. When I escalated the matter, even though calls were recorded to prove what I was told, the insisted I pay the bill (which I did today). I would not trust this company and I will never work with them again. I will pay for a taxi vs dealing with BS like this.

My appointment was at 3:20, and I checked in at 3:05. After waiting less than ten minutes, a staff member brought me into the room. Dr. Tabios and the entire team were patient, kind, and very helpful. Dr. Tabios listened closely to all my concerns, addressed each one clearly, and made me feel comfortable throughout the visit. He's friendly, approachable, and thorough. I also received a tetanus shot from Keturah, AMN Healthcare staff, who was warm, gentle, and reassuring. I didn't feel any pain at all. It is so much easier for me to navigate through the Kaiser system than locate independent providers through Regence Coverage. You call one number and are set up for all your medical needs. Their doctors, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, customer phone representatives and all support staff really seem to care about you and your health. This is problematic. I am the Director of H.R for a company of about 50 people working at the Port of Seattle. We recently changed health plans. Unfortunately, the "upgraded plan" available to executives is a Regence (Blue Cross/Blue Shield Plan). Ironically, I feel like that this "upgrade" isn't an upgrade at all. I LOVE KAISER and I am likely to go back whatever the cost after we renew in January of 2020. I have never experienced better care, more follow up, less wait- time and fewer additional fees than I have with Kaiser. I came in to meet Dr. Church (Redmond), because of a scheduling issue Dr. Church was SUPER thorough, knowledgeable, professional and considerate. After I left his office, Dr. Church researched how best to alleviate my menopause drama. He followed up with both me and my pharmacist and suggested I try a little different medication. I followed up 19 days later, got no response, and followed up again the next day, before finally getting my prescription. I also asked about scheduling a follow-up appointment at that time and never received a reply. It took 3 weeks before I got my prescription. Months later, I requested a copy of my medical records. I followed up 5 days after the initial request, then had to call 10 days after that just to get them released. It took 2 weeks to get my records. Most recently, I requested a renewal on a medication I've been taking for over 10 years. I heard nothing back for 11 days, then had to call in. I was placed on hold three separate times over the course of one call, totaling around 15 minutes, and was told I'd need to come in for an appointment before they'd refill it. I explained that I needed it immediately because they hadn't responded in 11 days. They put me on hold again and then doubled down on the same answer. Staff also blamed the delay on the receptionist being "new," despite her being the one who put me on hold twice to check with someone else on my behalf. It took 1.5 weeks and I never received my prescription. I have never had such horrible communication or professionalism from a medical facility. I would suggest going literally anywhere else.

I personally don't need hand holding mushiness, I need the truth, level headedness and a physician who will share his knowledge about what is going on with my body. A little small talk and humor doesn't hurt either. All qualities you will find with Dr. Bayles and his staff. I live nearby so location is awesome for me. I used to see a Swedish physician downtown but finally switched b/c the drive and parking was inconvenient. And no parking charges at the Redmond Swedish Medical Center! It's also brand new so the facility looks great. And scheduling appointments have also generally been easy. I once got squeezed in at the last minute when I got a severe allergic reaction and needed some relief asap. The Swedish network is also something I love (yes, love). All your medical information gathered by Swedish physicians is online so there's no confusion about your medical history or trying to remember every little thing. Another much appreciated thing...everything runs like a well-oiled machine. I get in, fill in some quick paperwork, pay my co-pay and I'm in an office in less than 5 minutes. A nurse takes some information about my visit, gets some vitals and the doctor arrives in less than 5 minutes. When I'm done, my paperwork is being printed, don't need to mess with prescriptions as they have been electronically delivered to my pharmacy and I'm done. Like I said, I see my physician more often than the average person and any extra time I can save not waiting around is a big thumbs up for me.

Shame on this ER for the way a young family member of mine was treated by Dr. Paul E. Doetsch…read more She came to the ER seeking help and expected compassion, professionalism, and respect. Before a procedure that Dr. Doetsch acknowledged would be very painful, she requested pain medication. Her request was refused, despite her explaining that she had recently undergone surgery and was currently taking prescribed medication related to that surgery. She felt that her concerns were dismissed and that she was being viewed with suspicion rather than treated as a patient in need of care. What was even more concerning was the lack of respect for her privacy. She was instructed to provide a urine sample in the treatment area instead of being allowed to use a restroom. While she was in the middle of providing the sample, Dr. Doetsch entered the room without warning and did not apologize. No patient should have to experience that. The entire experience left two young women feeling unheard, humiliated, and without confidence in the care being provided. They ultimately left and sought treatment at another hospital. Every patient deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, respect, and privacy, regardless of their age or the medications they are legally prescribed. I hope the hospital reviews this incident and takes meaningful steps to ensure other patients do not have a similar experience.

I did, which turned out to be a mistake because of COVID. There's a sign telling everyone to walk to the main door. That's ok though; I could use a few more steps. Entering through the main door, a person in a booth nearby waved me over to ask me the standard questions about any symptoms and gave me a sticker. An 1 min thing. Anyway, the Imaging department is very straightforward - two ladies at the front to check in and insurance. And if the appointment is the recurring mammogram, I go no more than two doors inside - one to change, one for the imaging. It's super straight-forward and easy. Brownie points for the most recent appointment. I'm so used to having nothing to do due to COVID that I didn't look at my calendar and completely spaced out having an appointment. They just called, booked another appointment, no change fees. Yay! So thanks!
