Shame on this ER for the way a young family member of mine was treated by Dr. Paul E. Doetsch. She came to the ER seeking help and expected compassion, professionalism, and respect. Before a procedure that Dr. Doetsch acknowledged would be very painful, she requested pain medication. Her request was refused, despite her explaining that she had recently undergone surgery and was currently taking prescribed medication related to that surgery. She felt that her concerns were dismissed and that she was being viewed with suspicion rather than treated as a patient in need of care. What was even more concerning was the lack of respect for her privacy. She was instructed to provide a urine sample in the treatment area instead of being allowed to use a restroom. While she was in the middle of providing the sample, Dr. Doetsch entered the room without warning and did not apologize. No patient should have to experience that. The entire experience left two young women feeling unheard, humiliated, and without confidence in the care being provided. They ultimately left and sought treatment at another hospital. Every patient deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, respect, and privacy, regardless of their age or the medications they are legally prescribed. I hope the hospital reviews this incident and takes meaningful steps to ensure other patients do not have a similar experience. read more

This is a limited review for the imaging department only. Normally, imaging department has its own outside door that I can park near. I did, which turned out to be a mistake because of COVID. There's a sign telling everyone to walk to the main door. That's ok though; I could use a few more steps. Entering through the main door, a person in a booth nearby waved me over to ask me the standard questions about any symptoms and gave me a sticker. An 1 min thing. Anyway, the Imaging department is very straightforward - two ladies at the front to check in and insurance. And if the appointment is the recurring mammogram, I go no more than two doors inside - one to change, one for the imaging. It's super straight-forward and easy. Brownie points for the most recent appointment. I'm so used to having nothing to do due to COVID that I didn't look at my calendar and completely spaced out having an appointment. They just called, booked another appointment, no change fees. Yay! So thanks! read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID!! In a nutshell, they overcharge (the ER room portion) compared to other area ERs and more times than not you'll get a disgruntled employee with poor bedside manner. For the ED department: Nobody in my family will be going here ever again. Nope. Not worth it. Not only does this facility have higher-than-usual operating costs according to my insurance company (translation: this gets passed down to you, the patient) there are some very disgruntled employees there (and some good ones too, no doubt) -- complaining frequently about it not being a full hospital with all the bells and whistles. Didn't even offer me a mask one time I was unfortunate enough to be brought there via aid car. I've sent a detailed account of several different incidents to Providence Swedish Clinical Quality Investigations and while I do feel heard after reading the written response with their findings (in which there were several apologies) life is too short and their bills are too big for the level of service delivered. PRIMARY CARE REVIEW ONLY - Dr. Mindy Hsue is the worst primary care doctor. Do NOT go to her. I have gone to her multiple times thinking I just had a bad experience, but I had multiple bad experiences. 1) I came in for a concern and she laughed at me saying it was nothing - but then I went to a different doctor at a different clinic and they told me it was something bad and I got treated for it. Changing doctors changed my life. I never felt so ridiculed for going into an appointment. A doctor should be concerned for your health and she made me feel like I was dumb for going in to get it checked out. 2) She sent my prescription to a pharmacy I never went to before - ever - 30 minutes away!! We even mentioned the correct pharmacy - less than 2 minutes away during the appointment and she did not acknowledge her mistake and then sent my medicine again and so I was charged twice for the medicine in my insurance and she did not even apologize. 3) She was very rude and dismissive and completely ignored my concerns. I had mentioned my concerns and then she ignored it or either said I needed to book another appointment for a simple question! So much for multiple copays! I went to another primary care doctor and got everything answered in ONE appointment. 4) She prescribed me medicine that I told her that I took prior and had bad side effects from, possibly allergies and she insisted I try it again. She does not pay attention to anything I said about my concerns. I've been to several primary care doctors and she is by far the rudest, most unprofessional, and doesn't care about your health. She just stares at her computer during appointments and dismisses you and it was very uncomfortable. If you are looking for a primary care doctor, please go somewhere else if you want to feel respected and have a doctor concerned about your concerns who give you appropriate feedback about your health condition(s) and send the medicine to the right pharmacy and actually acknowledge your concerns and worries. read more

Avoid at all cost unless you want an unreasonably high bill for absolutely nothing. I took my toddler to the ER a few weeks back for an animal scratch - luckily for us it was a case of looked worse than it actually was... the doctors used one piece of gauze to clean his wound and prescribed antibiotics. A less than 20 minute appointment for which I received a $815 bill!!!! This place and its billing practices are criminal. I'd hate to see our bill if they had actually done something like stitches, or god forbid, given us a bandaid. Ridiculous!!!! read more

I've been going to Swedish Redmond for several years seeing Dr Pepe and a few other doctors. Everyone here is very professional and courteous. I've never had any issues with any doctors and staff. Jenny, Dr Pepe's administrator is amazing and always takes care of me and helps me through a frantic schedule. Even if Dr Pepe is not available she is always super helpful in getting me to someone that can help with medical care. There are always issues that occur with medical but for primary care I highly recommend the Redmond Campus. read more

I am with swedish for preventive physical exams for years. I have known and stable health conditions like prediabetes. All exams were covered by my insurance in the past. This year for the first time Swedish charged me for physical exam co-pay and said they addressed issues like diabetes, thus resulting an office visit charge! What?! I have same health conditions as last year, no new services from the same doctor, my insurance covered the exam completely last year. Why should I co-pay for no reason?! When I brought up the concern, Swedish kicked the ball back and forth, kept saying nothing was wrong. Very very very disappointed and decided to quit swedish. read more

Called to set up an appointment this AM based on my doctor's referral. Left a message, the receptionist called back and was unhelpful and honestly quite rude, asking me why I had a referral for a "screening" when I actually needed "diagnostic" according to her. She berated me saying that someone of my age does not need a screening, so I was forced to explain to her my issue and symptoms and why I was being sent here for imaging. When I explained to her that I did not know the coding issue because I am in fact NOT a health care provider and was just following up on what my doctor ordered (literally with the referral info printed in front of me), she told me my doctor used the wrong type of referral/coding and they should know that Redmond location doesn't do screening, just diagnostics, and it was our problem. Instead of offering to help sort it out with the doctors office to get the write coding/referral, she told me it wouldn't work, it was wrong and I should sort it out. I expected more from customer service especially in health care and ESPECIALLY after she heard my symptoms which are not routine- super unprofessional and insensitive- do better! read more

Dr. Anand Gersappe at Swedish Sleep Center. My physician told me: try other approaches before going to them because they will make you do a bunch of expensive tests and ultimately prove that you have sleep apnea and prescribe you a mask. I don't have problems waking up, but rather falling asleep, I don't have apnea. But that did not stop them from sending me for those tests. If you work really hard, you can prove a newborn baby has a sleep apnea. For the first visit that on their bill lasted 45 minutes and practically not more than 15 minutes they bill you $452! The only result of that meeting was sending me to the in-home sleep test. In-home sleep test didn't prove I have sleep apnea. It only inflicted another bill of $368 on me. But "in-home tests have very hight rate of false negatives. We are going to send you to the in-the-lab overnight test". I stopped there. Enough milking my insurance. $800 in bills. 0 in value. Swedish Sleep Center. BTW, in my case (hard to fall back to sleep after waking up) 15-min meditation sessions 3 times a day help to calm my wondering mind. Good luck read more

After years going there, she didn't do anything for me just asking me to make more appointments with her but when finally I decided to see another doctor, after one visit my problem is gone. I never go to hospitals and for some reason this week I had to come here twice, once to the ER and once to see an orthopedic surgeon. I had a great experience both times. ER personnel couldn't be nicer. That was the friendliest ER doctor I've ever met! Nobody wants to go to an ER but if you have to, I highly recommend Swedish in Redmond. I've been to Evergreen before and while also great, I really prefer Swedish. The Orthopedic surgeon's office seemed very efficient and modern. Only real negative was having to wait about 30 minutes from the x ray to seeing the doctor. Entire visit took about an hour which isn't too bad but probably could have been cut in half if things went on schedule. All in all, I had a very positive impression of Swedish this week! Oh, and I almost forgot, I came here about a year ago to get some bloodwork drawn for my son. That also went very smoothly and efficiently. read more

Absolutely a horrible experience. A waste of time had something in eye from mowing grass. Went to urgent care because was getting worse. They told me I scratched my eye in 2 places. Put me on eye ointment antibiotics and by mouth antibiotics. Eye got worse now because of ointment antibiotic my top lid got an internal stye.went back to urgent care because now I have a stye and an allergic reaction to the antibiotics.long story short they missed diagnosed. I had some thing stuck in my eye and no scratches. Had to find my own eye doctor to go to. He removed debris in eye and numbed my eye lid and cleaned out my pore. This was a 4 week nightmare. Don't go. Not worth it. They suck. !!!!!!! read more

I had an almost identical experience as P R., but with Dr Collantes. I also made an appointment to have an urgent health issue looked at, and to do a prescription refill for an old issue. When I made the appointment the person making it didn't repeat my health issue back to me, only the prescripton- so I had to repeat very clearly what it is I'm making the appointment for. Then when I got in, the nurse said: "Oh, you're here for a prescription refill", so I had to correct her as well - no I'm here for a new Health issue, I just also want a new prescription. When Dr. Collantes came in, she only spent the time doing the prescription refill, and started walking out... Then I told her: "THIS IS NOT WHY I MADE THE APPOINTMENT!", she got visibly annoyed and told me: "Ok, I guess I can look at that if it's quick". Spent about 10 seconds on that and gave me an incorrect prescription for it that set me back for many months, until another physician did a real test. Even on the prescription refills she did, I've had the same prescription for many decades, and I always get annual repeats for. However, she only gave me for 3 months, because in 3 months time she wanted to "try me on something new" - and I had to come back in for that. Well... if you want to try me on something new, why not start immediately? Are you really going to learn something from my response to the current prescription in the next 3 months that you haven't learned in the last 30 years?? It's of course just to force me to come back 3 months later. So the philosophy of this clinic seems to be "generate revenue by forcing follow-up visits". I thought it was just Dr. Collantes, but based on P R's review, it seems to be a clinic wide policy. read more

From the super friendly and efficient receptionist Kathy, to my Mammogram specialist Sharon I had as terrific an experience you can have when having this procedure. Kathy even tracked down for me my previous records and helped explain that Radia evaluates the xrays, etc. Everything was upfront. I had a great experience. read more

Wish I could give it a lower rating. My personal care doctor suggested I get a number of tests and said they could "run them in the office". I'm used to having paclab in the same building on the same floor run tests when I go to the doctor. What I was not prepared for was a markup of over 100% over PacLab to do those tests in the Swedish doctors office on the same floor of the same building as the lab. This is a major scam. Doing minor tests for major money. My insurance refused to pay the inflated costs so I had to cover the overage. If you see a doctor at this facility and need lab tests GO TO THE LAB! When I told my doctor the cost was too high when done in the office, he was surprised and didn't know anything about the cost. When I asked his assistant about the costs for the new tests she acted like I was crazy. I insisted she check the price in the office and the one in the Lab and tell me which was lower. She never came back into the room. I caught her on the way out looking very guilty and asked if the cost was higher and how much higher. She said it was higher and scurried away like a rat, so she didn't have to tell me how much higher it was. Total scam. Folks here don't seem to mind overcharging and doing whatever they have to do to squeeze every dollar out of you. They don't seem to care one bit about helping people. read more

Went in for a non-emergency problem with my foot, said it wasn't an emergency and didn't realize they put me into the emergency room and not the regular care. Now I'm getting close to a thousand dollars in bills the insurance didn't cover for the emergency room for what amounted to a sore toe. It was a slow day. Be careful they will put you into the highest paying service if you are not paying attention. read more

Have to post the lack of Physician support to receive eligibility for long term care. My young terminal husband saw Dr. Bayles and he wouldn't sign to begin 30 day long term care eligibility. Husband was diagnosed by Neurologist with rapid , progressive ,CJD 1/20/12, qualify him for hospice! June, 2012 when needing to start in home care, Dr. Bayles requested a Neuro. -Psych. ,(test costs $7,000). Really a dying patient, with a rare disease from contamination, (medical instruments or beef).!Am very disappointed that an in home nurse assessment was needed to quailfy,(out of pocket expense) and long term care eligibility was 90 days too late!. Doctor should have researched disease or received out side counsel. This isn't patient advocate support for a care taker and dying spouse! No Star rating! read more

Dr. Le is fine, but her office staff is uncaring. 2 days after seeing her for an eye allergy, the drops didn't work and I was told by Lauren in the office, that I would have to pay my copay again to talk more about it with her. I was told "that is how the dr. gets paid". I had a pap smear in the fall and called this week to get a referral for a mammogram. Lauren (again), in the office, said I would first have to come in and get a complete physical. I asked to talk to the dr. and she said she didn't like my attitude and put me on hold for 12 minutes. I eventually hung up and then talked to Katie, who I believe is in HR and was very nice, she apologized but said there was nothing she could do. I got a survey about 6 weeks ago from Swedish Hospital and shared all of this feedback and never heard from anyone. I just feel that this office didn't care about me as a person, but instead, just found more ways to make me pay. Very, very disappointed and looking for a new dr.--NOT at Swedish Hospital. read more

I am super upset with the customer service I received today in regards to refilling a prescription. I called the Swedish Redmond to talk about a refill after I was only given ten of my normal ninety pills at my pharmacy. I was told I needed to come in before they would fill my full prescription (the first I have heard of this). I explained I work all week and am getting married on Saturday then leaving right away for my honeymoon so I did not have time to come in during their business hours... When I requested just enough meds to make it thru my trip which is only a few weeks long, they refused!! I said I would make an appointment for right when I got back and they still said no. Keep in mind this is a simple antidepressant that I have been on for ten years! Not anything new or anything that would get you high or something. They then told me to call a dr I had only seen once and see if he would refill it for me. I called dr. Moore at the Renton location and after lots of phone tag he told me he would only give me the few weeks worth if I was willing to start driving to Renton from here on and have him as my normal dr. That is an hour from my house so I said no thank you... Anyways moral of the story I can't believe that over a simple matter Swedish was unwilling to work with me on a few days worth of meds. I hope my trip goes well with zero Prozac. Thanks Swedish for being super understanding and supportive! I know antidepressants are not something to stop taking cold turkey so hope my honeymoon is okay! read more

I went there for my yearly exam. My appointment started on time at 1515. After five minutes with the nurse taking vitals and 5 minutes with the doctor, I was told to change into the gown "and doctor will be with you in just a minute". At 1630 (yes, an hour+ later), I asked the front desk when the doctor is coming to see me. I was told "the doctor is running late but I am next in queue". At 1700 I had to go get my kids so I told the front desk that. I am not going back to this place. read more

I made an appointment at the Swedish, Redmond clinic, to see Dr Mindy Hsue. I specifically needed advice on 2 health issues and also needed a prescription refill. I mentioned this at the time of scheduling the appointment. During the appointment, I waited 20 minutes past the appointment time to see the Dr. Then she breezed into the exam room, went straight to the computer without saying so much as a "Hello" and put in an order on the prescription refill. She asked me no questions about the refill or my health. When I started to talk about the health issue, she said "make another appointment for that". I was stunned! I spent almost an hour at this Doctor's office only to have a prescription refilled? And now I have to come back for getting my health issues addressed? And I will be charged for yet another office visit? Unbelievable! Needless to say, I will never go back to this doctor again. read more

Did not have a good experience with them. My wife had a blood work done with them as part of her physical check up. They did not bother to call and inform her of the results after the test. My wife had to call a couple of times and then had to leave a message when they finally called back and the only information they gave was that she is low on 'xyz', no info on how much and what is normal. After that we have been unsuccessfully trying to get a copy of her blood test to find out more details. They keep transferring from one number to other and in spite of several calls she has not received the report. In one of the calls, the lady from doctor's office said that you can get the report online but you need an activation code. When I asked for that she said, oh you had an activation code but that is expired now and that you have to get it in your next visit. My wife was never given this activation code and now she has to wait for the next visit to get that. The whole experience has been so frustrating that we are thinking of changing this office and moving to a different physician. read more
