The crown jewel being their Liberty Playground which is great for toddlers to preteens. It has a generous section for a mini-town, complete with is fire station, traffic light, pedestrian crossing etc. Of note, clean restrooms by the kids area enhances the experience. Swimming pool for kids and adults....look great although I haven't benefited from it. The walking areas connecting all the above to independence branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library are paved with lush green grass and colorful floral arrangements with a lot of attention owing laid to landscaping. The Elmwood pond within the grounds of the park is a serene place to sit by. I've had the pleasure of visiting there many times with family, a generation up and also a generation down. We all love sitting there, chatting, snacking,in a peaceful environment in awe of the ducks, geese and if we're lucky, seeing the blue herons that come by there.

The Cleveland Metroparks has transformed the culture of Edgewater for a new generation. Lower has the beach, volleyball, concessions, bar on top, seats, restrooms, pier, lots of grass and grills but no pavilion. Parking for upper or lower is easy but both parking areas are separate. You cannot get to one through the other. You actually have to drive out of the park to other entrances to access each area. There is plenty of walking, running, biking, scooters, trails. And plenty of grass area in both to play soccer, baseball, football, frisbee, kites, almost anything. There is even a dog beach. Lots of things to do and to enjoy yourself outside. You cannot even bring a sandwich, chips and a drink or whatever and have a spontaneous picnic. The other fun thing to do is watch the air show from here. It's free and you see most of it. You even get buzzed by a plane or two. This is an enjoyable park. I wish it was closer to me. You cannot even bring even get a great pic of Cleveland and one of the Cleveland signs.

I had two little ones on my own so I appreciated the toddler area being in the same line of sight as the big kid area so I could keep my eye on both kids. The place was extremely clean, had family friendly music for the kids and a good amount of seating for adults. Lots of different things for kids of all ages. They had cubbies at the front and asked us to put our shoes there so we didn't track dirt or water into the play area. Socks are required everywhere inside as well. I was able to climb up in the equipment as well when needed to go down the slide with my niece who was afraid to go on her own. There was a snack area as well, although we didn't eat anything during our visit. The staff was extremely nice and helpful as well. My only recommendation to improve would be to make the gate to the front entrance lock so kids can't get out it on their own.
