I truly truly love this place. I've been coming here since I was a kid. But ever since the pandemic this place has really gotten on my nerves in the morning. Sometimes they open at 7:30 sometimes they open at 9 sometimes 8:15. The hours that they open up are completely inconsistent even though they used to always open at 6. I never know if I'm going to enjoy a bagel or not when I'm on my way to school/work in the morning. You will never find bagels like the bagels at wow bagel. I have been coming here since i was in the 4th grade. Bagels are $1 plain. Their bacon egg and cheese is well made, honestly everything is well made. But the bagel itself is what makes the sandwiches. The bagels are made here and they are truly Ridgewood's hidden gem. Browsing yelp for some more bagel spots and came across this one not too far from the pad. Reviews were decent but pictures looked good so I thought it was worth a try. Got there a bit later in the morning, maybe 11:00 so some bagels were running low but they were still making more fresh. Got my usual salt bagel with butter and also got an egg bagel with butter and nesquik. Bagel was good. Good amount of salt, nice consistency of dough. Same with egg bagel. Good price as well. Less than $6 for two bagels and chocolate milk. I know I got here late in the morning, so while I'd usually grab two salt bagels they only had one left, but I'm glad I tried an egg bagel. They have the best coffee (regular,decaf,hazelnut,French vanilla and columbian) they have a variety of bagels that they make themselves. I have always loved everything here. I don't know if I would trust the lox here (didn't see anyone order them and they were just sitting out in the deli case). We arrived at around noon on Saturday and they only had two kinds of bagels ready (plain and sesame). LAME. So Rus and I both got plain bagels with scallion cream cheese. They were pretty tasty. The bagels are thick and cakey. Pros: Not overpriced, decent bagels, lots of beverage options. Cons: Not enough stock of bagels, spreads are not displayed, takes forever to get your order. Your standard bagel place without the inflated prices. I'm never wowed when I walk out of here (contrary to the wow bagel namesake) but I'm always pleased! The bagels are always warm, a little chewy, and even fluffy. I wish maybe they were a little more on the dense side, and also that the everything bagel was saltier, but other than that I cant really complain. It's something like $2 for a bagel and cream cheese, which I'm super happy about. My personal favorite is the egg and cheese, and the lox tastes fresh and is cut generously. Funny how the other 3 reviews mentioned having communication issues with the staff. This isn't something I'd normally bring up, but I couldn't seem to order a cup of water from the guy so finally gave up. You want a bagel, or, better yet, a bagel sandwich? This is the place in Ridgewood to go. Maybe 15 varieties... my breakfast sandwich hit the spot. I woke up really early this morning and came from far to get bagels from Wow Bagel in Ridgewood. Google says they opened at 6am and so does Yelp. When I arrived at 6:03 the doors were closed, lights shut and the team still prepping. They obviously saw I was waiting outside and ignored me. I then ask after 10min when they are going to be ready and they said 6:20am. They were very unfriendly and could not care less I was waiting. I couldn't wait because I had to take a bus to Richmond VA and because they were late I could not bring the 12 bagels I was supposed to bring today with me. Best place ever to get a bacon & egg on a bagel! Bagels are made fresh daily and these guys really know how to make bacon and eggs. The eggs are sort of scrambled and fried up on the grill really thin. Then they get folded over onto the bagel with the crispiest bacon ever (without being burnt). The bagels are just perfect, but they sometimes run out the better flavors early. The iced coffee is surprisingly not too bitter, and the hot coffee is pretty strong. Overall, my favorite place in both the area and NYC. They are cash only though and if you get there right at certain times, the line is crazy. read more

I use to love this place growing up. The new Spanish worker is so rude and unprofessional employee I have ever came across. I had went there to get a bagel today and there was none left he said rudely you can wait 20 minutes and I do not live by this place anymore so I figured I would wait. Twenty minutes past and I ask him nicely is it done yet and he says no give me another 10. During this time he was talking about in Spanish and didn't think I could understand . So finally it's 30 minutes later and I ask again nicely sir is it done yet and he goes no / I said I've been waiting here for an half hour and I have to be somewhere he says I don't care and I don't know how fast the oven works and begins to laugh in my face with his coworker so I told him how unprofessional he was and I would never come there again and I'll let everyone know how horrible they are now . Came around 9:15 on a Sunday and there was a small line but nothing crazy, it took almost 20 min to get out of there though, which seemed a little excessive. There wasn't much rhyme or reason to the line after you ordered so I was worried about getting the right stuff when we checked out. Our 2 breakfast sandwiches and 2 bagels with cream cheese were all correct in the end though, so it all worked out fine. Mr. Bagel makes really great bagels. Re: communication issues with the staff that other reviewers brought up, for a couple of years this got really bad. Almost every time I ordered my bagel would come back wrong; either with cream cheese when I asked for butter, completely wrong bagel flavor, etc. They would always take it back and make a new, correct bagel for me but this got so frustrating that I didn't go there for a few months. I started going back at the beginning of this year and they have new guys behind the counter who understand my orders much better now. read more

A very decent bagel place in Ridgewood. The bagels may lack the slightly darker crispier exterior of a true NYC boiled and baked, but otherwise they are nicely fresh and have an appealing sweetness. Coffee, toppings, and decor all pleasantly not trying too hard, although the tables are often uncleaned. I've read some complaints about the service. Occasionally weird things will happen like you'll place and order and then the guy will stop midway and take someone else's order and start working on that, and you have to remind the guy to keep working on yours. Only the tall guy does that. Order from the short guy, he's good and has gotten faster, and order *properly*: what bagel, toasted or not, what topping, the end.
