3 words what. the. fuck. first things first I drove 35 minutes from the Bronx for this fuckass tomato soup. I enter the premises and is immediately welcomed by the attitude of the female cashier. I genuinely felt bad for the kind man she was speaking to cause all he wanted was his order that didn't go through because their WiFi was down. Moving on I go to order the tomato soup I hungrily drove miles for to find out they are out. I was slightly disappointed but what pushed me to the brink was the woman's venomous comment after about not knowing when they were going to get soup. I'm sorry? I just wanted to know... Furthermore she proceeds to blankly stare at me as if I just cursed her entire existence in Latin. I wish I was able to acquire my order as they seemed not only to be out of soup but pretty much everything. No hate to the establishment itself but we need to do better. read more

I didn't go to the restaurant; I caught up with them at the Bryant Park winter village. Thank goodness the weather was good. The line was long, but it moved pretty quickly. I was #99. People were friendly, and didn't mind waiting. I got the combo which consisted of grilled cheese bites and tomato basil soup. I wished to soup was a bit hotter. The grilled cheese was very hot, so that was a good thing. It was nicely toasted and had a good crunch. 4/5 (only because the soup was warm) Til we eat again... read more

Worst service I've had in quite a long time. Matcha cold brew took 15 minutes and 3 sandwiches took over 30 minutes The staff were chatting the whole time and when I finally asked about my food they said oh yeah it's ready we just have to go and grab it.. WHAT ?? The drinks were okay but the food was great .. except for the BLT which is just one tomato slice , one lettuce leaf and 15 pieces of over cooked (and at this point , cold) bacon , they didn't apologize or even mention the wait , ridiculous. Especially when someone pays 80 dollars in a near empty cafe Would never come back on a time crunch (Might order online if that wouldn't take even longer) Edit : tried again but neither their online menu nor their phone works . A cute and cozy little spot in Ridgewood! Stopped in on a rainy day for a casual lunch. Service was friendly and we easily grabbed a table. The summer turkey sando was fresh and delicious. It was a big serving and totally filled me up! My husband also enjoyed his burger. I noticed they also sell alcoholic drinks and it's a very cool vibe inside. Delicious. Intimate. Fabulous staff. Drinks: We got a latte with macadamia nut milk (lovely) and the root brew with whole milk (nothing great). Food: We got the Akia (a fluffy classic breakfast sandwich) and the Kithy (an interesting take on a breakfast sandwich with new textures and flavors). I've been ordering from here regularly since my first review. Their soup is my go to, so many different rotating soups, all fresh, homemade, and flavorful. There isn't another restaurant I can think of that offers that. Soup stand outs: Corn Chowder, Chicken Noodle, Baked Potato, Broccoli Cheddar, and the Thai Coconut Curry Carrot. I also love their sandwiches, like the Urs, the Gunther, and the Bearbo. My go to is the Gunther, but instead of the aioli, I add balsamic glaze and a side of their chimichuri. The Bearbo is a two person breakfast sandwich, and I say this as someone who always finishes their meal. It is a crusty bread roll stuffed with eggs, cheese, and pork roll ("taylor ham," where I'm from it's called pork roll!). Indulgent and incredible. Gunthers is a staple in my rotation and should be in yours too! read more

I got the sausage, triple egg, on a ciabatta bread sandwich. The menu has it with brioche but they let me get ciabatta, as I haven't had that bread in so long and brioche is everywhere. It was not busy when we ordered but we waited a long time. I believe it was about 20-30 minutes. My friends order was wrong but they resolved it. My order was correct though. The ciabatta was great and I believe they added some maple syrup to it which was a nice addition to the flavor profile. The sausage was small but decent enough as well. Amazing coffee shop in Ridgewood! Their coffee is really good quality and they have a full food/breakfast menu too. The staff is extremely friendly and kind, and I always enjoy chatting with whoever is working. There is limited seating but it has a very classic coffee shop ambiance. The food was great! The Spicy Pickle Smash Burger was delicious and very satisfying -- great flavors and cooked very well. The Key Lime Matcha Latte was interesting, I liked the concept of it as well as the Graham Crackers and Whipped Cream, but to me tasted more like Key Lime than matcha. Only docking a star because I noticed that service during lunch on a Monday was pretty slow -- the staff is really friendly, but wish they gave a heads up as to current wait times. It took 15 minutes to get my drink even though I was the next order up, and 35 minutes for my burger to come out. The table next to me also had to go inside and ask about their order since it was taking awhile. Definitely understand ironing out service kinks since they are new, but I'd probably just order in advance and call in instead of dining in next time. read more

While I do enjoy the food here, I really wish the service was better. The staff is always very friendly, however the food takes waaaay too long (always an hour plus, even if you order pickup it's an additional 20 minutes) and the past three times now, I have received the wrong items or have had items missing. After waiting over an hour for a sandwich it's very frustrating when it's not what you ordered. I don't know what systems they have in place, but they are just not working. I went with a friend for brunch on Saturday around 1:30 PM. The place is fairly small so it gets packed quickly. She got there before me and was able to snag a table but it was pretty hard to get one. although I did see a bit of change with the table next to me so maybe there is a way to get a table inside. they have AC however the windows are open so it's not super cold. There's also outdoor seating. I got the turkey Sando, which comes with a slaw and an aïoli. It was delicious and very filling, I took half of it home. And I also had the sparkling lemonade they make there with earl gray, which was amazing. my friend got the ricotta toast, which she found delicious and got the egg sandwich which she also liked. I like their menu much more than salty lady luncheonette but salty lady has a lot more space which is nice. read more

I went with a grilled cheese with hot honey and the coconut curry carrot soup , this might be the best grilled cheese and soup combo I've ever had , grilled cheese was perfect..especially with the hot honey drizzle,and the soup was absolutely incredible, hit that comfort food itch hard! Was next door getting our car inspected, and when we were done, we were ready for some breakfast. Luckily, Gunther's had recently moved to this spot in Ridgewood. We were greeted by a lovely barista/employee right as they opened at 10 am on a Sat. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches and two cold brews. Cold brew was solid, but the sandwiches were delicious! The Kithy has chili oil on it that gives it a unique flavor with a kick. It was messy to eat, and I loved every minute of it! The Akio has a Cajun mayo that is so yummy that you kind of want your sandwich smothered in it. This was a nice quick breakfast in a quaint little shop with simple decor but overall just had a good vibe. read more

Super cute spot on Seneca in Bushwick. I didn't go to their old location but I've gone a few times to this and gotten the Turkey Sando and also the Nonna's Panino, both are great. They have a little outdoor space but I've also picked up and brought it home and it's just as good after the walk. They also seem to do pop up stuff on the weekend, which I haven't been too but looks super cute. Definitely would recommend it! read more
