    summer corn chowder

I've been ordering from here regularly since my first review. Their soup is my go to, so many different rotating soups, all fresh, homemade, and flavorful. There isn't another restaurant I can think of that offers that. Soup stand outs: Corn Chowder, Chicken Noodle, Baked Potato, Broccoli Cheddar, and the Thai Coconut Curry Carrot. I also love their sandwiches, like the Urs, the Gunther, and the Bearbo. My go to is the Gunther, but instead of the aioli, I add balsamic glaze and a side of their chimichuri. The Bearbo is a two person breakfast sandwich, and I say this as someone who always finishes their meal. It is a crusty bread roll stuffed with eggs, cheese, and pork roll ("taylor ham," where I'm from it's called pork roll!). Indulgent and incredible. Gunthers is a staple in my rotation and should be in yours too!

Amazing coffee shop in Ridgewood! Their coffee is really good quality and they have a full food/breakfast menu too. The staff is extremely friendly and kind, and I always enjoy chatting with whoever is working. There is limited seating but it has a very classic coffee shop ambiance. Also, The Gunther is the cutest pup!!

Delicious sandwich and burgers. Can't wait to come back to try the soups bc I love soup so much. The drink was solid. Nothing was overly sweet. Love the interior and dog inspired arts. Service was smooth.

The Kithy one of my favorites with bacon A must try!

seasonal special: key lime matcha latte
    Chantel T.

The food was great! The Spicy Pickle Smash Burger was delicious and very satisfying -- great flavors and cooked very well. The Key Lime Matcha Latte was interesting, I liked the concept of it as well as the Graham Crackers and Whipped Cream, but to me tasted more like Key Lime than matcha. Only docking a star because I noticed that service during lunch on a Monday was pretty slow -- the staff is really friendly, but wish they gave a heads up as to current wait times. It took 15 minutes to get my drink even though I was the next order up, and 35 minutes for my burger to come out. The table next to me also had to go inside and ask about their order since it was taking awhile. Definitely understand ironing out service kinks since they are new, but I'd probably just order in advance and call in instead of dining in next time.

Half a Turkey Sando and sparking lemonade

I went with a friend for brunch on Saturday around 1:30 PM. The place is fairly small so it gets packed quickly. She got there before me and was able to snag a table but it was pretty hard to get one. although I did see a bit of change with the table next to me so maybe there is a way to get a table inside. they have AC however the windows are open so it's not super cold. There's also outdoor seating. I got the turkey Sando, which comes with a slaw and an aïoli. It was delicious and very filling, I took half of it home. And I also had the sparkling lemonade they make there with earl gray, which was amazing. my friend got the ricotta toast, which she found delicious and got the egg sandwich which she also liked. I like their menu much more than salty lady luncheonette but salty lady has a lot more space which is nice.

Gunther's is a must-visit spot for sandwich lovers! Their sandwiches are absolutely amazing, and the service is top-notch. You won't be disappointed with the delicious food and excellent service at Gunther's.

Background sandwich is The Akio. Foreground is The Kithy. Both tasty!

Maybe not cozy but you're not really going to linger here. Service is good but a little hectic. Friendly staff but they get a pass as they dish out noodles, apps, drinks and more. You're spoiled for choice here but everything is pretty good so I'll call out the extraordinary items. The fish broths are amazing, sweet in the seafood way with a deep richness of flavor. The black fish slices (poorly translated from Chinese, sorry) were satisfying. Boneless and tender. It's a small cost to upgrade from regular fish (I believe it's grass carp) but it's worth it though unfortunately I can't help much in terms of naming the upgrade in English. Their popcorn chicken is well executed, with light crunchy batter and well-seasoned meat. Their fruit drinks are nice too, including the pomelo grape and the peach. Ask for less sugar if that's your thing. Portions are ridiculous but admittedly we over ordered on purpose. Also, it's a common move to ask for the free noodle refill before getting your leftovers to go though we did not partake in the excess here. The bowls are already never-ending buckets of goodies. We did take our leftover broth though. No shame. In fact I'd be more ashamed if we wasted the soup.

Someone will bring the food to your table if you're eating there. They do have ac, so that's good if you're trying to escape the heat. My friend and I ate inside and got the summer rolls, which wasn't tightly wrapped, and it was so hard to eat. It came apart right away, which I've never seen happen before. I don't suggest getting it at all. It was too messy to eat, and the ingredients were mainly noodles. I got the taro tea as that doesn't have caffeine inside of it. For my main meal, I got the hot pot noodle soup with a medium spice level with been tendon and fatty beef. The bad part about it was that my stomach hurt after an hour or so. I didn't eat breakfast, so it was definitely a reaction from this meal.

The beef satay is another highlight, well-executed and flavorful. The Singapore rice noodles could use some refinement. They're properly seasoned, but lack anything distinctive to set them apart. It's a tofu shop first, so there is no seating available for you to sit and eat. On the line, we saw many cars from local businesses in the area pull up to pick up buckets of tofu and 10 pound bags of bean sprouts. Beyond the weekend special steamed rice rolls, we could tell from the bustle that their other products are very popular with the neighborhood restaurants. If you are lucky, you will be able to see the flat rice noodles (Ho Fun) being made behind the steaming rice rolls section.
