A cute and cozy little spot in Ridgewood! Stopped in on a rainy day for a casual lunch. Service was friendly and we easily grabbed a table. The summer turkey sando was fresh and delicious. It was a big serving and totally filled me up! My husband also enjoyed his burger. I noticed they also sell alcoholic drinks and it's a very cool vibe inside. I can't believe I haven't discovered Gunther's sooner.

Delicious. Intimate. Fabulous staff. Drinks: We got a latte with macadamia nut milk (lovely) and the root brew with whole milk (nothing great). Food: We got the Akia (a fluffy classic breakfast sandwich) and the Kithy (an interesting take on a breakfast sandwich with new textures and flavors). We were both incredibly satisfied with our meals and will be back soon. Inside space: There are 14 chairs total, so when it's full - it's quite full.

I've been ordering from here regularly since my first review. Their soup is my go to, so many different rotating soups, all fresh, homemade, and flavorful. There isn't another restaurant I can think of that offers that. Soup stand outs: Corn Chowder, Chicken Noodle, Baked Potato, Broccoli Cheddar, and the Thai Coconut Curry Carrot. I also love their sandwiches, like the Urs, the Gunther, and the Bearbo. My go to is the Gunther, but instead of the aioli, I add balsamic glaze and a side of their chimichuri. The Bearbo is a two person breakfast sandwich, and I say this as someone who always finishes their meal. It is a crusty bread roll stuffed with eggs, cheese, and pork roll ("taylor ham," where I'm from it's called pork roll!). Indulgent and incredible. Gunthers is a staple in my rotation and should be in yours too!

Amazing coffee shop in Ridgewood! Their coffee is really good quality and they have a full food/breakfast menu too. The staff is extremely friendly and kind, and I always enjoy chatting with whoever is working. There is limited seating but it has a very classic coffee shop ambiance. Also, The Gunther is the cutest pup!!

Delicious sandwich and burgers. Can't wait to come back to try the soups bc I love soup so much. The drink was solid. Nothing was overly sweet. Love the interior and dog inspired arts. Service was smooth.

The Kithy one of my favorites with bacon A must try!

The food was great! The Spicy Pickle Smash Burger was delicious and very satisfying -- great flavors and cooked very well. The Key Lime Matcha Latte was interesting, I liked the concept of it as well as the Graham Crackers and Whipped Cream, but to me tasted more like Key Lime than matcha. Only docking a star because I noticed that service during lunch on a Monday was pretty slow -- the staff is really friendly, but wish they gave a heads up as to current wait times. It took 15 minutes to get my drink even though I was the next order up, and 35 minutes for my burger to come out. The table next to me also had to go inside and ask about their order since it was taking awhile. Definitely understand ironing out service kinks since they are new, but I'd probably just order in advance and call in instead of dining in next time.

Had a late lunch there yesterday and it was delicious. So said they're permanently closing on Sunday.

It started as soon as we walked into the restaurant; there was an unfortunate water leak dripping down from the ceiling, right by the entrance. The staff put a bucket below a huge water bubble that had formed in the ceiling, to catch the drips... but you had to walk around it to get into the restaurant. Kind of weird that the staff didn't think of getting from a hardware store, one of those tarps that catches ceiling leaks and diverts the water thru a hose to a bucket... that isn't in the way of customers entering the restaurant. Anyway, we sat down, and ordered an old favorite dish, and decided to try a new one. The old favorite is the House-made Fish Cake Pho (Pho Cha Ca)! The kitchen staff hand makes the fish paste from scratch, with some kind of super addictive & flavorful spices, and I've really enjoyed it in the past. We also decided to try the Shaking Beef Rice (Com Bo Lac Lac) for the first time. Unfortunately, both dishes were disappointing. The fish cake in the pho looked and tasted like typical frozen type you can get at any Asian market... and was confirmed when we asked the staff. Where's my ATF fish cake?!? The beef cubes in the rice dish were (a) super overcooked (like beef jerky level chewy) and (b) the sauce was way, way too salty. We also noticed the restaurant manager, Ngan, wasn't working that night. Perhaps all these problems happened because she was away on holiday? And Pho99 will be back to its usual spectacular food after she returns?

Cash only - local tofu joint with so much freshly made product. The weekend special rice rolls (cheung fun) are freshly steamed and worth the wait - steamy and super silky. Make sure to sauce up your rolls before leaving because the entrance gets crowded due to the line. Do refrain from eating them too fast though because they come out piping hot. It's a tofu shop first, so there is no seating available for you to sit and eat. On the line, we saw many cars from local businesses in the area pull up to pick up buckets of tofu and 10 pound bags of bean sprouts. Beyond the weekend special steamed rice rolls, we could tell from the bustle that their other products are very popular with the neighborhood restaurants. If you are lucky, you will be able to see the flat rice noodles (Ho Fun) being made behind the steaming rice rolls section. I highly recommend trying their other products too - their tofu pudding blew us away with how silky it was. One of my friends came back the following week for more of their fresh soy milk (still warm in the bottle). Freshly made, this tofu shop is one of a kind and powers so many people and businesses with their delicious products. --- Note they are taking December off from selling their weekend only fresh rice noodles which I sincerely respect. Although I'll miss being able to pick up my weekend Elmhurst freshly steamed rice noodles, I appreciate they are giving themselves time to take a break.
