WOW! customer service (if you can call it that) has been HORRIBLE since day one. To begin with, they sold us our VoIP phones based on the promise we could use them anywhere. But when it came time for service, they would only service them at our office location and refused to send us a new $50 phone. Most recently, my phone stopped working and I spent 2 hours on the phone with WOW! technicians only to be told I would have to bring the phone into my office to have them fix it. When they did, they found out it was not the phone at all but a "backend problem" with their system. So I have not had a phone for 6 DAYS because of their own problem after they wasted TWO HOURS of my time. I am DONE with WOW! and will be terminating our contract as soon as it is possible to do so. I would NEVER do business with these people again. read more

Wow mistakenly turned off my business phone without notification due to their own internal operating issues and now tell me it will take 48 hours to restore service. we canceled our account with WOW because the FIRST time they came to set up wifi for my new house the wifi didn't work at all!!! called spectrum the next day came out hooked up the wifi perfectly fine! AMAZING JOB SPECTRUM!! fast forward a few weeks I get out the shower to a 3rd party company that WOW hires on my property digging up the spectrum wire and replacing it with the WOW COAX cable, now let me remind you I CANCELLED MY ACCOUNT WITH WOW! and they still had someone come out and install their COAX cable. if you go with any internet company GO SPECTRUM!!! read more

Not a Happy Customer. I was having slow internet during the Covid-19 period. I understand that the system is overrun with users. They admitted that only 30% of my normal speed is all they could deliver. That I can understand. When I asked that they charge me accordingly they said they would not do that. So even though they admit to only being able to deliver 30-40 Mbps to me they will continue to bill me for 100Mbps. Time to start shopping for a trustworthy internet supplier. read more

This company really missed the mark. I just got service installed last week (even though after service was installed I had a Salesman beating on my door 2 times a day-once at pm) I am paying for one Gig of Internet speed but am running at half that speed. Even though they are charging me for it. The original sub subcontractor complained about the job, left piles of sawdust by his drill holes and didn't replace the original drop or test my speeds. They then sent their tech out who took a call in the driveway trying not to go to his next job, I ran to the hardware store and when I came back he was gone and told my wife a different Team was coming. I plan to file with the SC Public Service Commission and SC Consumer Affairs Office. Had Time Werner for years and it cost an arm and leg to have them, but at least I could Google something at speeds faster than the Oregon Trail. read more

I have been a customer with them for over a year and I was looking to add new addresses and new services at new addresses. After 27 minutes of being on the phone and them talking over me and them trying to repeat things that I didn't even ask for then they put you on hold forever and pass you to another level which sounds like the same person. And the next person if it is someone at the next level is just as an trained in customer service as the first one. Not only do they re-verify you the first time which is totally understandable any company will verify you, but then the next level wants to re-verify you all over again after you've been on the phone for 15 minutes. Then you ask for a manager it sounds like the same guy again and he wants to re-verify all your information as if passing you over to a manager means you have to be reverified again so at every level if you don't have 27 minutes to spend on the phone just getting verified or speaking to someone who supposedly is at the next level do not I repeat do not go with this company because they will waste your time till you're blue in the face!!!! I currently have AT&T at one property and sometimes the service is not as fast as possible but their customer service is 110 times better than this company I'm so disappointed in can't wait to disconnect my service at my guest house from here due to the fact I don't have time to waste with customer service for 27 minutes still not getting one lick of Tasks accomplished in 27 minutes. So if you have plenty of time to waste on customer service incompetence then I say go for it if you are a busy person as most people are then this definitely isn't the company you want to be putting your money into on a monthly basis and get tied into a long contract. As an investigative producer for TV these people are the ones I get complaints about so often and I was really disappointed that their quality of customer service didn't equal their quality of service for my actual Internet connection. read more

Feedback in a word: horrendous. (Using Gig service for remote work) I should have known better when the gentleman set up our internet over a year ago...he was less than helpful. The techs who came to our neighborhood to fix everything post hurricane did a great job yesterday trying to get everyone back up and running. To everyone else from the call center gentleman to the local office - you should be reprimanded if not fired for your lack of professionalism, empathy and downright lies to the 25-30 customers in our neighborhood. These individuals all speak volumes about the organization and what you allow. (The organization should clean house at the North Charleston office on Dorchester quite frankly.) Our service was down on Tuesday BEFORE the hurricane hit. Our neighborhood was NOT in an evacuation zone. We were unable to get storm and safety updates because of this. When calling the call center I received the following experience: The gentlemen with a New York or New Jersey accent picked up the line, didn't say hello, but instead was talking to his cube mate about 45 calls (assuming in queue), then line goes silent. I say "hello" multiple times then he finally responds by singing Lionel Richie then goes silent when I ask for his name and help. He then hangs up on me. I have a sense of humor, but having worked in call center this is absolutely unacceptable on several levels. I submitted an inquiry though messenger and was referred to the call center. I worked at a call center through the financial crisis...I UNDERSTAND busy! This was another level of of complete and utter lack of competency and disrespect. I truly hope this call is pulled for "Quality Assurance purposes". I (along with my fellow neighbors) were appalled at our treatment, considering that your company's core principles include: Respect: Treat others as you wish to be treated - know your customer. Integrity: Choose to do what's right. Spirit of Service: Provide the WOW! experience by being reliable, easy to work with and pleasantly surprising to each other and to our customers every time. Accountability: .... I fully expect a credit for Tuesday, 9/3-9/6. This cable service is terrible. We constantly have to reboot our smart TV because the sound goes in and out or the picture goes in and out and that takes 20 minutes. Many channels we can't even watch because the sound goes out every few words. Plus they are so expensive. NEVER had trouble with Time Warner plus it was half the price. Update-Service finally improved and we have not had to reboot for a couple of months nor has the sound gone out. Plus we negotiated to lower our monthly bill although we had to agree to a contract to accomplish this. We cancelled our cable and only have internet now. read more

I got transferred to 8 different people just because I wanted to disconnect my account. I had to give my information including social security numbers to these 8 individuals. I called to try and get prices. The person I talked to was not helpful, could barely speak English, and ended up hanging up on me. I called back, and the people I spoke with did not seem to care even slightly that another rep had hung up on me. They acted like this was standard operating procedure. Ridiculous is all I can say. I signed up a week ago, and tonight topped the cake. My living room tv was fine all channels working however my bedroom was not. So I called technical support. Support is a laugh. The first one hung up on me. The 2nd one was a prick and I dont use that word normally. He tries to tell me it's a system outage.. uhmmmm why is it working in my living room then. So I get frustrated and ask for a supervisor. And ask and ask and ask until I got rude. I asked him for his name, how he spelled it and his agent Id number . That got him offering the supervisor. Then he puts me on hold, thinking I'd hang up.. 22 minutes of nothing.. but I was mad so I was persistent enough to hold. The supervisor was even worse . would not let me speak, saying the agent was trying to assist me blah blah blah.. I told him screw it, disconnect my service right now and I would not pay a penny. He tried to tell me it was a $50 charge to pick up the equipment, nope.. I will take it in myself to the local office. Stay far far away from this business.. they are worse than the satellite companies and that is saying a lot !!!!!! read more

BIG FAIL ON ALL COUNTS The service rarely reached the 60 Mbps I paid for, at least Speedtest never saw it except for maybe once when the install tech was here. I even connected a laptop and tried different speed tests and servers and it usually downloaded at about half or 30 Mbps. This was after I bought the 110 Mbps and didn't even get 75 Mbps, so I downgraded. Okay, they are an internet company, so I lived with 75% or 50%, but in addition, from the beginning there was always a 5 to 10 second lag which affected my searches, video streaming, or data downloads - sometimes applications or apps on Apple TV would just timeout and tell me there is no service. I was hoping that would get worked out, but no. Bottom Line: I did not get what I paid for, not even a little. Additional to the slow speed and delayed response, over the past several weeks the signal has been intermittent. While watching videos on Apple TV or Amazon Prime, I got a stop-and-buffer for 2 minutes after 4 minutes of watching. This would go on repeatedly for 20 minutes until I just gave up and quit. How do I know the problem is WOW? Well, I never gave up my Comcast service and when I had problems with WOW I would switch everything over to the other router connected to the Comcast modem. This would give me back reasonable service....streaming videos that would play continuously, data that would stream without interruptions and searches that started immediately with no lag. So I called WOW to cancel and they told me to bring the modem/router to the office and I would be billed only until the date I returned the box. Just to check, the rep and I did some diagnostics and we got 14 Mbps for several tests. He rebooted and we tested again and got 16 Mbps. He asked if he could send out a repair tech to check things. I said I would give WOW another chance and have a tech come out if they would discount the last month's bill since I didn't get what I paid for. Predictably, I was told repeatedly that it was "impossible" so I asked to be sent to the retention department. I was told that was "impossible" because it was a service issue and I could only be transfered if I had a billing issue. This tells me how they think....He could obviously transfer me, except he and his supervisor told me it was "impossible". Good going WOW!!! I'm taking the box back and cancelling tomorrow. It won't delay me for a minute because, as I said, I never stopped my Comcast service. I had WOW on probation because I expected this kind of terrible internet service and pigheaded customer service. At least I can now accurately report to my neighbors, friends, and acquaintance that there is no reason to switch to, or start with, WOW. A new couple just moved in down the street, I'll pay them a visit tomorrow. In fact, I am going to give WOW about $30,000 worth of advertising. I am going to tell everyone that will listen about that last conversation and how it was "impossible" to transfer me to retention. I'll tell about the crappy service too. One more reason not to get WOW. While I was on hold the hold music was a continuous stream of advertisements. Yeah, Comcast and others do this too, but at least I won't have to have crappy service and listen to crappy advertisements for WOW. I hoped this helped you make a decision not to sign up with WOW. Too bad it isn't possible to just give a quarter star. My WOW service is horrible! I have had it for several years and as long as things are working, it is fine, although it NEVER approaches the speeds I pay for. However, when something goes wrong - you are on your own. I have had extremely spotty service for two weeks now and they are happy to reset it from their call center - but who wants to have to constantly call in? I can also turn off the router and turn it back on and SOMETIMES that will work...but not always. Who wants to do that six times an hour? I have had to take the router in for a new one, have a technician out twice who could not find a thing and said the problem was probably in the lines, and wait all day on a third technician who never showed up. Today, we wait on our 4th service call for a problem that I feel certain is NOT at my home but in the service lines to my house. Why can't they just say that and then get busy fixing the real problem. I am an employee who works from home and when I complained that their service was making me look unreliable they told me that if I expected to actually rely on my service, I needed to purchase a business plan. That is seriously out of touch with today's work force. No employer pays a work-at-home employee enough to cover what the Internet providers charge for a legitimate business, and no Internet provider should expect to be paid that kind of fee for one individual working from home. They should, however, expect to provide the service the individual is paying for 24-7 and they should be transparent when they cannot. Your WOW! experience is going to be a very bumpy ride! read more

I have been immensely dissatisfied with this company. The only reason I am with them is because they have contracted with my apartment complex to be the only provider available. Although I purchased a package with sizeable bandwidth, service is continually slow during peak hours. Also, at least once per week, service will be disconnected without warning or explanation. At these times, it's nearly impossible to reach a customer service rep. I work from home and rely on internet service, so the shortcomings of Wow directly impact my ability to do my job. When this company was Knology, they were rather good. Now that WOW took over it is a disaster. Cable goes out two or three times a month. When you call for help they are never able to fix anything and want to send out a service call. They don't show up, but WOW tries to charge you $50.00. We moved to summerville on the border of Charleston. We have only had our internet since July and every month there is an issue. I ate constantly restarting everything trying to get the WiFi to work . We even tried plugging the cable in but literally it's pointless because it does not work. They seem to always have some outages and then make a big deal when they need to compensate us as costumers and the bill. I hate the fact that these apartments are constantly want us to use this company . They are a scam and they do not care about us . I have never met a company that charges to come out when it is their fault. I wish we could ya someone else . I would never recommend this service to no one because it's a waste of money . Wow took over knowology of which I had a subscription with about a year ago. Since they took over my cost almost doubled and BBC channel was dropped. I called wow several times for a price adjustment and they always said no. I took the equipment back today and have a much better service through another provider for $100 a month less. read more

Do not purchase their internet if you live on James island. I literally either have to deal with the unreliable internet or call them every other day. The only positive thing I can say is that their tech reps are very nice. However, they're only call center is on the west coast. This being said they read from scripts and repeat themselves a lot. They work off their check list, do not follow through with what they tell you they are going to do and are pretty much worthless. It is beyond frustrating! read more

WOW is running TV commercials about their great bandwidth (not guaranteed, of course). No one I have talked with since moving to the Charleston area has anything good to say about WOW. My experience: wow, I wish I had Suddenlink or Time Warner again. WOW is the worst ISP I have ever used. Avoid them if you can. WOW has been charging me for "up to" 30 Mbps internet service with phone and cable TV. I constantly get way less than 10 Mbps, sometimes as little as 5. Can't even watch a movie while also using my laptop wifi for email. Video constantly freezes and defaults to low bandwidth cutoff message. Forget watching a rented movie in HD. Glad I don't rely on my connection to work from home. The WOW installer in Feb must not have tested the service to see that I am getting the bandwidth I am paying for. Now I have to take time off work to have a service call at a time of their convenience. The apartment complex I live in, The Grove at Oakbrook, has a contract with WOW that does not allow us to change providers. If properties are going to do that to get their own savings they need to take responsibility to pressure their contracted ISP to improve service levels, to deliver a minimum level of bandwidth to residents. Residential bandwidth availability is a competitive advantage or disadvantage in the rental market. Regulatory authorities should investigate WOW to see how many of their customers are paying for much more bandwidth than they get. WOW also misquoted me for the combined service and were overcharging me for a few months. Wouldn't take responsibility for their employee's actions and adjust the rate until I said I was going to report the issue to the Better Business Bureau. Then they gave me a "courtesy discount" for the next year. WOW generally sucks. read more

I'm surprised by the bad reviews. We actually had good service with them for a long time. There were occasional outages on the Internet, but no more than I've experienced with other cable companies. The only reason we switched is that I really wanted NBA TV, and WOW didn't have it- at all- it wasn't an option, was not even possible. And ATT/Direct TV came by and offered a much cheaper deal. But other than that, WOW was great. The TV remote was much better than the Direct TV one. read more

WOW lacks customer service, has high fees and it's telephone service frequently has a robot telling you that the number you have dialed has not been recognized even if that number is only two miles away.
