I came to Denise for Bellami K-Tip extensions, and the installation was not done correctly. The hair looked stringy and thin, nothing like the Bellami hair I had before, and my scalp was red, inflamed, and painful from too much natural hair being pulled into each K-tip bond. When the amount of hair inside the bond isn't equal, you get constant tension, and that's exactly what happened. The bonds were twisted, uneven, and catching every time I ran my fingers through my hair -- causing breakage. A few days later, on 11/23, I returned to the salon to show Denise my concerns in person. She saw the twisted bonds herself and acknowledged the issues immediately. She offered a full refund on the spot, saying she would issue it after removing the extensions. We scheduled the removal for November 29th, because she told me she would be unavailable for the next four days due to surgery and 11/29 was the soonest she could get me in. About an hour after I left, she messaged me asking for photos. I sent them. Then she asked me to come in on Wednesday so she could take photos -- even though she had just told me she would be unavailable because of surgery. Still, I agreed and confirmed Wednesday at 12:30 PM. Then on Tuesday, she asked me to come in on Friday instead. I found that confusing since my removal was already scheduled for Saturday -- why not just take the photos then? I asked if we could take the photos on Saturday, she sent a new appointment confirmation... but it was for Friday again. I assumed my Saturday removal appointment was still confirmed, since that's what we had agreed on and she never said otherwise. On Friday, she texted asking where I was. I responded that I thought we were confirmed for Saturday. After that, she stopped replying completely. I messaged her multiple times over the next several days with no response. Then out of nowhere, I received a false and unprofessional email accusing me of things that simply didn't happen and saying she would not be issuing the refund she had already agreed to. The entire situation was chaotic, disorganized, and deeply disappointing. I have screenshots of every appointment change, every cancellation initiated by her, every message, and the written refund agreement. I will also be posting photos of the poor K-tip installation once the extensions are removed tomorrow by a different stylist. Between the damage to my hair, the constant rescheduling, the unprofessional behavior, wasted time, and the emotional stress of trying to follow her shifting instructions, this was a $1,600 mistake and yet another disappointing experience with someone who should have acted professionally. THIS WOMAN IS MANIC. NO CLIENT SHOULD BE PUT THROUGH THIS....HER RESPONSE vs. my screenshots of communication show she is a complete liar and a fraud.

When first styling my hair, Yukari took a brush to my wet hair to get the knots out and it caused large balls of my hair to rip out. You're not supposed to brush wet hair because it causes ripping and she ripped a lot. If anything, you're supposed to comb it. I showed her the large balls of hair on the floor (I wish I had taken a picture- there was A LOT) and she got so defensive. For the rest of the session, she was so nasty and rude. She said that the large balls of hair was from the fact that I didn't brush my hair that morning and it was shedding. She said the balls of hair was also because my hair is damaged. If my hair is damaged- which I have some highlights- then be gentle with it. After that, every time she went to brush my wet hair she said she was scarred and was just frankly a b**** at every point she could be. She made me sign a waiver, took pictures of my dandruff scalp to show me, and kept commenting on how damaged my hair was again and again. The way she did this didn't feel like someone being helpful and doing their job, it felt undercutting. I'm definitely not going back to this salon. Yukari kept her attitude the entire time we had left which was basically four hours. At one point she wanted to pull out of the whole operation and said this while the chemicals were already in my hair. It was such a power play. She didn't overall do a bad job with my hair but her attitude was incredibly unpleasant. She obviously was wrong but couldn't handle someone having an issue with her. I do not recommend going to her because she literally ruined my day and her character affected me long enough to need to write a review. I never write reviews but she was so nasty it got under my skin. I do not recommend seeing this woman because she's demeaning and on a high horse.
