The spacious patio and lovely views overlooking the vineyard make it an especially relaxing place to spend an afternoon. I came for the summer tasting event and I'm so glad I did! It's about a little under a hour's drive from Austin for me, but I had a free Sunday and the drive was really enjoyable, so it was definitely worth it especially since the wine was pretty good. For the tasting, the Cab Franc was the standout for me and I even ended up buying a bottle to take home. Honestly though, pretty much all of the reds were enjoyable. My server was friendly and attentive and even let me try a few wines that weren't included in my tasting, which I really appreciated. I also had the chance to meet one of the owners Daniel, who was incredibly friendly and introduced me to the in-house chef who makes the oven-fired pizzas. Seriously, don't skip the pizzas! They're still working on bringing the winery to its full potential, but based on my experience, I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the Hill Country area.

As soon as you walk in, there is large bar with sitting areas on both sides. One side was a little bit louder, by the food kitchen and another bar. The other side has couches and chairs only. Its very calm and relaxing. There's also a family bathroom and a bathroom with a bunch of unisex stalls. We ordered a tasting of 5-6 wines for $20. We started with the pinot noir sparkling, it was SO good made in the traditional method. We also tried the SpRonkling, Petit Manseng, 2 Tempranillos and a blend. The Rose sparkling was my favorite. Great hospitality and vibes all around, but not my favorite wines.

They had a large group at the bar when we arrived so we did have to wait a bit and they didn't tell us what we needed to do to get the tasting. They gave the party some flyers and a pen. One section said "not by the glass" so they presumed that meant not for the tasting. When we brought the slips up the employee said they could try the ones that said "not by the glass", my husband said "We aren't with that group" (sometimes they give large groups perks) and the employee said, "I'm old, not stupid." Which embarrassed me and the other person as the large party heard him. It took a very long time to get through the tasting and I honestly don't think my party finished, we were just ready to leave. We had ordered pretzels which we got as we were walking out!! They do give a military discount. With all the other distilleries, wineries, and tasting houses you should watch the sarcasm and/or attitudes. IMO

We have already had it before, but every time we go to total Wine over here, they don't have it. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Dan and Dan is the man. I didn't realize texas mead works made an apple pie mead but once he showed me that I had to have a bottle. He made several more recommendations and we bought several more bottles and stuck around for a few minutes before we left. Great experience, when we are in the area we will be stopping here every time.

By the grace of the "wine" Gods, Carla could fit us in her schedule! She is completely open to letting you choose your places or you can follow her lead! She picked us up at our accommodations which were several miles outside of Fredricksburg. We did introductions and she laid out the things that were already scheduled for the day. On our way to the first winery, we decided to "reroute" the tour to hit some lesser known spots. TBH, we were excited for Carla's recommendations. Our first stop was Six Shooter because of their variety of dry wines, sweet wines and meads. You have to try the Jalapeno shooter!!! SO GOOD! Second, we made our tour time at Real Ale and did a beer tasting. Third, she realized the majority of our groups like Whiskey, so we stopped at Andalusia Whiskey in Blanco! This place met the needs of our entire group (even the non-whiskey drinker) and was by far the most unique stop of their day! If you go here, try the Cherry Cola cocktail! We stopped for lunch at Pecan Street Brewing in Johnson City, where we drank lots of water and had really great food. Our last stop of the tour was Zero815 Winery which had a cool mix of wines and friendly staff. At the end of the day, Carla made sure that we made it back to our accommodations safe and sound. We had the very best time and she knows some of the coolest places that you might miss without her expertise. She was extremely professional and very down to earth. She was always around to help with recommendations or just to snap photos of the group! We highly recommend doing a tour with Carla and Texas Wine & Spirit Tours! You won't be disappointed! We'll be booking with her again the next time we are in the area!
