The mushrooms were very fresh and not overcooked. The omelette was thick, but not foamy. All of the ingredients were handled with care on the inside. The taste of truffles was a nice addition. My wife had the salmon omelette, and it was out of this world. Possibly the best omelette I've ever tasted. She agreed. Delicate, perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious. One of our boys had a huge waffle covered in fresh berries, and just the right amount of whipped cream. He said it was the best waffle he ever had, and I have to agree. My favorite was the Sazerac, I hadn't had any since my time in New Orleans so aside from the rainy cold weather, this transported me back temporarily. The other drinks were good, I think one was called a Rum Smash, but my problem with mixed drinks is when they're good, they go down way too easy. I like to taste a little alcohol. I think of Tienda as my local corner store, where I prefer to get a lot of staple veggies, fruits,…read moreeggs, etc. You wouldn't necessarily be able to tell from the front entrance, but they have a produce and butcher section. It's across the 6-way intersection from the Acme. If I have a grocery shopping list for dinner, I often go to Tienda first to get as much as I can for lower prices than the Acme, but then end up going to Acme to fill in the blanks. The staples that are in stock at Tienda will be cheaper than Acme about 90% of the time. Some weeks the produce quality wavers, but give it a week or two and they have fresh fruit and veg in stock. The Spanish-speaking staff are always friendly! If you live in the vicinity I highlight suggest checking it out, especially if you are making tacos or burritos because all those ingredients (tortilla, queso, meats, peppers) are in stock.
