Good selection of nuts and friendly staff. Make sure to bring cash because it's cash-only.

My friends, family, and coworkers worry about me and my yearning for this burger in my life. I think truly part of the reason why I wouldn't mind living in Philly is because of this burger. I'd argue that part of the reason I'd come back to Philly (and am planning on doing) is the food. This city has it on lockdown, and Luckys is in the top for me.

When I seen that Lucky's Last Chance won best burger 3 times I knew I had to try lucky's award winning PB&J burger. Walking into Lucky's, you're immediately engulfed with the iconic Dive Bar ambiance. This style option defines your experience, good vibe, good food. Our server was very friendly, fit the vibe, explained the menu and seasonal options well. As for the burger, patties cooked perfectly juicy. I must say, one would think that Peanut Butter does not go with burgers. This is an extremely wrong opinion, an old way of thinking if you must. Not really sure how to explain it, peanut butter was a perfect replacement for mayo. Drizzling the Raspberry jelly was truly the best way to go. Just as important, the bun was local and fresh, while holding up to the weight of this sandwich. I can see why this burger and Lucky's won best burger multiple times. If I ever have the luxury of visiting Lucky's Last Chance again. I may sneak in some Jalapeño jelly and give it a try!

Tasty food with lots of seating on a Friday evening…read more Spicy boneless chicken was good. Not too salty, not too drenched in sauce, nicely coated. Portion size was surprisingly big in a good way. Bulgogi Bimbibap was good but the bulgogi was a bit too saucy/wet for me. It made the rice by that area wet. Would likely not get this again unless it changes. After ordering, the staff brought some complimentary banchan. The potatoes were my favorite! I would come back for the chicken and to try some other things on the menu.

This place was great! Brought my husband and kids for dinner when we were stuck in Philly (a story…read morefor a different day). I was surprised how much my picky eater family enjoyed the food here! The service is very laid back, but that's ok, the food made up for everything else. The only negative was the bonchon at the start of the meal. I like when they offer more freshness like pickled radish and what not, this was on the heavier side with fried potatoes and something called "fish cake" that I would not recommend. The beef stir fry was a perfect meal, as far as I am concerned, containing my fave veggies (onions, mushrooms, carrots, cabbage). The flavor was spot on! My husband really enjoyed the bulgogi bibimbap; while I liked it too it wasn't one of my favorites and the rice wasn't crispy when we were served, like it usually is. When you are done you pay at the counter. Really "local" vibes and I highly recommend for the food!

Madame Saito is absolutely amazing…read more My girlfriend and I took her sushi class on Sunday night and had so much fun. We were able to make 12 rolls and also study the design of plating...I would highly recommend this if you are looking for fun date night or just love amazing sushi

Madame Saito is the 'Queen of Sushi' just as she says…read more We were told by another couple that the Madame teaches sushi making classes that if you wait can be found (almost always) on Groupon, Living Social, etc. Our class was Sunday from 3-6pm. We brought our own knifes and tuberware as instructed on the website. I went out and bought sushi knives for us... but I don't recommend that (maybe I was a little *too* into it). The class was packed and it took a bit to get started (3:30pm). Madame Saito explains the difference in types of sushi and gives an overview on why she's the Queen. The layout of the class could have been a little better. Madame was up front in the long thin room... She did a good job walking around and checking every table. I just thought it might have been easier for her to stand in the middle of the room behind the bar that way she'd be elevated and everyone could hear and see her. Lots of sushi was made that night. Starting off with a cucumber roll to California roll. You'll make rolls with rice on the inside and others with rice on the outside. You are given her rice recipe if you ever attempt to make sushi at home. My biggest suggestion would have to be efficiency. Instead of handing out one by one seaweed paper between each roll... maybe put a plate full on each table. Other rolls you make are spicy tuna hand rolls, salmon nigiri and two types of tuna sashimi. One pleasant surprise is there's a full bar! Drink prices were reasonable. I would definitely suggest Madame Saito's sushi class to anyone. I'd probably say it's more worth it if you wait to find it on Groupon than to buy it full price.

This might be my favorite bar in Philly yet! It's so quaint, sophisticated but not pretentious…read more Casual attire (we showed up after a tennis match and didn't get one side eye!Other patrons also wore cute/ smart casual fits!) The bartenders were so nice, speedy, and knowledgeable! They patiently explained to us the differences among some drinks and provided great recs based on our preferences! The customers/ patrons that are drawn to Grace and Proper are what make this place shine! We had a full dating intervention with strangers (we asked them for advice!) and it was so fun! This is the kind of place that makes you believe in humanity and whimsical connections again! The lighting indoors can be VERY dim as we were there around sunset. I think a few dim bulbs in the corner would still carry the vibe but make it less dark. We all had different kinds of cocktails and love the presentation and creative recipes! Will revisit more often!

Our favorite spot in Philly!…read more My husband claims that Claude AI recommended this place. We absolutely loved it! The entrance is so charming. With potted flowers all over the restaurant. Smattering of patio tables on both Eighth Street and Carpenter. When I saw it, I said yes before even looking at the menu. We ordered drinks at the bar and took them outside. It's very chic but also casual. There were mostly pairs or trios - no families. Not th. We saw people ordering a little bit of everything. Honestly, the menu looked great! The kale Caesar salad, the piri piri buffalo chicken dip, bacon wrapped plums, etc. The drinks were the best we had on our Philly trip! The Spanish Monk which had gin, lemon juice, frothed egg white and smoked paprika. I had the GGG which they carried over from their old menu. Can't remember what was in it but she said it was similar to Bee's Knees which is one of my favorite! There's self service still water and sparkling water in the back of the restaurant. Perfectly chilled. Perfectly bubbled! Such a lovely spot!

Their drink menu is standard, but they rocked my world when I saw Xul PBnJ mixtape. Oh man, I don't know if they always have it, but when I went they did, and boy is that going to keep me coming back. We ordered their: (1) bacon burger (rating 3.0/5) (2) beef sandwich (rating 3.0/5) (3) fries (rating 3.5/5) Don't get me wrong, the food isn't bad. The best way I can explain it is, their food is satisfactorily adequate. It tastes good enough, it's juicy enough, it's filling enough. It's what I would call "fine". The thing is, their burgers are TINY (not too far from a slider even) and EXPENSIVE for how small they are, so being "fine" isn't what I want. If you're going to charge that much and give that little, the food needs to be mouth wateringly incredible. Otherwise give me a normal-sized "fine" burger. Service Notes: No complaints about the service. This place has bit of a "nicer bar" ambiance, but it's quite small. It felt a little too confined honestly. TLDR: Food is fine, but not worth the cost. There are better burgers at lower price points.
