For some reason though, they let me in the first time despite being under age. The process seemed very unorganized and I left with very yellow roots. When I got home I had to wash my hair again because there was so much product left over that when I ran my fingers through they would get powdery. When I finally had time the call back (my appt was 2 days before Christmas and I was traveling) they told me they would do my hair again, yay, cool, I was fine with this. The problem is that when I showed up and informed them, again, that I was not 18, I was told they couldn't do my hair and to come back if my parents had time to hang around...nice... my mom actually doesn't have time to sit and watch me get my hair done for 4 hours. So now I've spent $55 and walked around for a month with 2 different hair colors AND I have to pay to get it fixed again. I'm disappointed there was no communication from staff about policy's and no communication from the girl about how my hair would look. Unfortunately, I look worse than before I came in and I'll spend more money getting this fixed than I would've on a professional root touch up

With everything this school has to offer the best part is the staff, they're selfless and do anything to make sure you succeed in every way possible, in school or not they'll be right with you. The dress code is professional and like your average salon, there's no crazy rules that are easy to follow. If it wasn't for the tech program and the amazing guidance from Kelli I wouldn't have continued the program, while you're in her class she does what she can to help you understand and exceed in everything you learn. The Instructors in the adult program are just as amazing, they strive for your success and give you every opportunity to do the best you can and get to every goal you have! If it wasn't for this school I wouldn't be where I am today!

I explained that I've had gel manicures and pedicures done for years at both salons and schools with full soaking included, but told them I was still willing to proceed. Instead of simply scheduling the service, an instructor was brought over who immediately seemed defensive and confrontational. She insisted that soaking nails before gel polish was not allowed in Michigan and gave questionable explanations about bacteria. She then refused to do my pedicure because I was wearing an aircast for a sprained ankle, despite the fact that it could easily be removed and I had no mobility issues. As a registered nurse, I understand my own limitations. The interaction became increasingly uncomfortable, so I chose to leave. I then went to The Salon Professional Academy, where I was treated professionally and respectfully. They provided a full manicure and pedicure, soaked my nails as part of the service, and completed everything without confrontation or unnecessary drama.
