I first visited the office back in the fall of 2023. I didn't see Dr Dorius, but, instead some…read morequack who was "new" there. Based on the reviews on here and the timing of when I went, I'm guessing it was "Dr." Pope, since he apparently no longer works there, although it could have been Dr Proctor. Whichever "doctor" it was seemed to be more interested in cracking jokes than fixing teeth. I hadn't been to the dentist in 2 years, so I was expecting them to find some cavities. Instead I was rather surprised to hear that I had no cavities. 6 months later (in April 2024) I returned for a checkup/cleaning, and, once again, was told everything was fine. Fast-forward to December 2024, and I had moved out of the area and saw a new dentist. There I learned that I not only had 4 cavities in 4 different teeth, but that one of them (an old root canal) was so decayed that it wasn't worth saving, and another one (another root canal), not only had decay, but also had an abscess that was draining puss. My current dentist informed me that based on the damage to the gum/bones and the puss drainage it clearly had been going on for several YEARS, and that my prior dentist AND hygienist would have had to have been blind or incompetent not to notice the abscess. I had this confirmed by an endodontist to make sure my dentist was correct. So in April, according to Dr Pope and the hygienist at Smile/Dorius Dental Designs everything was fine. By December, I've got a mouth full of cavities and an abscess. Clearly my mouth didn't suddenly start falling apart in just 8 months. They didn't just miss a cavity on one tooth ---- they missed at least 2 (including an infected abscess years in the making), and probably 4. I would strongly encourage anyone who went to see that Pope quack, to get yourself to another dentist to make sure your teeth are in the shape he told you they were in. And we should all be demanding our money back at a minimum. As an update, a day after I posted this, Dr Proctor emailed me. He had zero interest in my experience, but, instead was primarily concerned that I mentioned his name as possibly being the inept dentist I saw. It was, in fact, Dr Pope who was the clown that I saw, who, conveniently, is no longer working there. Dr Proctor suggested that I remove my review because of this. The fact that he, as co-owner of the office, refuses to take responsibility for hiring a quack dentist (Pope) or cares about the damage he may have done to patients, speaks volumes about the integrity...or lack there of...of this dental practice. Additionally, the hygienist, who totally missed an oozing abscess on my tooth, is still working there.

I had braces when I was a teenager but that was decades ago. But no one ever told me that I was…read moresupposed to wear a retainer for the rest of my life if I didn't want my teeth to shift. Fast forward to August 2023. My bottom teeth were starting to really bug me with their alignment. I had considered those mail order aligners and right when I was about to pull the trigger I wound up purchasing a deal out of a silent auction that was donated by Miller Ortho. At first, the staff was totally friendly and excited to have me there. Almost like I was a celebrity because I bought this package. Flash forward to well over a year after beginning the journey, my teeth are still not straight and the plastic they make the aligners and retainers out of crack and wear down so that you can feel the roughness under your tongue. I've had to have the retainer itself replaced twice and each time cost me $250 beyond the package. Granted, one of those times it was lost but they already had a scan so there's no reason to charge that much. Not to mention that they can't even spare a new case after your $250 replacement retainer. It comes in a plastic bag. It's Park City I guess. But is that really a good excuse? The office itself is very clean and bright and not too busy. And the staff in general is made up of friendly women. There are no men in the office other than the doctor. Now that I am using retainers instead of aligners it does feel like I'm just someone they have to get through to get to a more important patient. Dr B didn't even come out to say hello when I was picking up my retainer. Also, one of the things I enjoyed about going there was that I got to be a big kid. If I wore their t-shirt, I would get this round chip they called a pog. If I made my appointment, I'd get another pog. If I scheduled another appointment I'd get another pog. You collect them and you can get something out of the prize cabinet. It's a cute little thing that encourages you to show up. I know it's meant for the kids since they don't have a lot of adult patients. It was fun to collect the pogs and get some 'free' nail polish. However, it kind of sucks when they take it away. When I came back 2 weeks later to have them check my teeth and order that $250 retainer, I'm told I'm done so I get no pog. How about just appreciating your patients? I'm technically considered not an "active" patient so I don't get a pog. Yeah I know boo hoo. They might think it's a small thing but when you start getting treated differently than you were in the beginning it makes a big difference. I really hope this last retainer will make my teeth straight. The doctor said it will be super tight and it may put a strain on the retainer. That's code for I'll have to pay more if it breaks. If that's the case I will go to an online retainer service. These things are too easy to lose that it shouldn't cost that much to replace. Overall I'm sure your kid will like going to Miller and you will appreciate the clean atmosphere but if you personally want someone to straighten your teeth make sure you consider all of your options.

From the doctor to the front desk to the dental assistants, this practice restored my ability to trust an orthodontist against. Not only were they appropriately priced, professional, and prompt; they did what they said they were going to do. You can tell by the pics posted below, we are very satisfied customers and highly recommend!
