I waited a little while to see how severe this was going to be and it accumulated to a point I realized something was seriously wrong and they needed a total redo and not just a touch up. Every cabinet door that was painted sage green was flaking so I contacted Essential cabinets and Devin said he would contact his supplier to reorder paint and pick up the cabinet doors to re-paint. I followed up and was placed on the schedule a month out, May 19th. I never received any other communication and they did not show for the appointment. I sent a msg on the 20th stating I had expected them and asked if they were still willing to correct the paint job. I didn't hear back. I'm now going to have to find a new painter and hope to match the paint as well as his supplier. Avoid work with this company.

After completing the project and later comparing with other options, it became clear that the pricing was not aligned with the level of quality we received. The paint has started rubbing off within a year, the drawer hardware feels very low quality (mostly plastic), and the drawers did not close properly from the installation. The drawer slides and soft-close mechanisms are low quality, feel cheap and unreliable, and the slide system doesn't function properly. With our prior Ikea drawers, which had metal throughout, that was never an issue. These are fundamental issues that should not occur at this price point. Support was also a challenge. Communication felt defensive, and we had to follow up multiple times just to get someone to come out for fixes. Based on our experience, we would not recommend JV Cabinets. There are other providers offering solid wood cabinets with noticeably better build quality and finish for similar, or lower cost.
