Our puppy and her liter unfortunately tested positive for parvo while downstate at the intake facility, so we had to wait a couple weeks longer to bring her home. We appreciate Wright Ways response and making the animals health a priority before adoption. We got updates every Monday on our puppy's health and then finally received the email that she was healthy and ready to adopt. Good things are worth waiting for! My puppy is fighting for her life since the day she came home and is now in a hospital while I am fighting for some financial reimbursement for the puppy's care. They have "heartwarming" stories on their website about Willow and other dogs they have rescued and "saved" at their expense but they can't stand by the health, well being and fair treatment of sick animals they adopt out to their customers. We adopted our amazing pup from here and he brings us so much joy. He was fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered which was a plus. The smell is not pleasant in there but what do you expect with a place full of growing pups. They had a wide verity of puppies and grown dogs to meet. Unethical rescue organization. I have many complaints about this organization. Friends adopted an adult dog from this rescue. Within 1 hour of bringing the dog home, it snapped it's leash, attacked and KILLED a tiny, blind, very old, chihuahua, unprovoked. Apparently the rescue had not taken the time to learn of the dog's severe aggression issues. Friends returned the dog. Wright Way was told what happened so that the dog couldn't be adopted to another unsuspecting family. I shudder to think what Wright Way did with the dog. Buyer beware on adult dogs from this shelter. I hate saying that because I don't want to make it more difficult for adult dogs to get adopted. Just be certain the dog you adopt has been in foster care and monitored for behavior issues. Be your own advocate since Wright Way won't be. In August 2019, my daughter reserved a puppy from Wright Way, and had her appointment to pick the puppy up. Two hours before her appointment, Wright Way called her to tell her they gave her dog away to someone else...by mistake, they said. My daughter was devastated. She had spent weeks trying to adopt, and had been thrilled to bring her new baby home. No remorse on Wright Way's part. No fixing the error, or, more to the point preventing it. just my daughter's tough luck. I drove to the shelter immediately and held another puppy from the same litter for two hours, until my daughter could arrive, for fear they would give that puppy away too. My daughter arrived, and adopted the puppy. He is a wonderful dog and has a great home. Fast forward to July 2020. Our now 1 year old pup would love a companion. My daughter and I have been trying to reserve a puppy for 1 month. The shelter is supposed to take reservations on a first come first served basis (they say so, anyway). Even if you reserve the second a puppy comes online, you don't get it. Even puppies that don't have pictures up yet, somehow get reserved. Today was the last straw. Two days ago, my daughter, for maybe the 50th time, attempted to reserve a puppy. Two days, no word back. The puppy still has a status of "available". A new litter came on today. I immediately tried to reserve one of the pups. They were reserved in minutes! Wright Way is clearly not handling adoptions on a first come basis, otherwise, why are people able to reserve puppies who were taken in today, while we wait to hear about puppies that came online two days prior? As of 7/25/20 the earlier litter still states "available". The rejections are equally frustrating. Wright Way only emails you that a puppy has now been adopted. They don't tell you the name of the dog that they are referring to. After dozens of rejections, there is no way to keep track of which puppy you did not get. Wright Way's adoption protocol is chaos, and no one takes the onus for their failures. Don't look for any communication from Wright Way. There is none, aside from rejection emails. This is an incredibly unprofessional organization. I sincerely hope they treat their animals in a more ethical manner than they do their patrons. read more

I got a puppy (husky mix) from here mid April, she was spayed like 2 days before I picked her up on a Sunday. The following Thursday I had to rush her to the ER. She tested positive for Parvovirus she also had contagious mites (not a rash...the ER vet said he doesn't know any legitimate vet that would call what she had just a "rash") Thankfully she survived Parvovirus and spent nearly a week in the hospital on a feeding tube and IV fluids. My other dog got sick too after her but he is fully vaccinated and didn't get as ill. I would recommend getting a dog that is more up to date on vaccinations, get that pet insurance immediately once you get you animal from here. I have adopted 3 other dogs from here in the past, my first 2 adoptions a good 4 years ago where great, the dogs where healthy. My 3rd dog had mites, and was underweight and malnourished (he did not look the healthiest in the photo but I noticed he wasn't reserved after weeks of being posted online, which you all know is rare!). Just from the week long emotional experience of nearly losing my newly adopted puppy, after having her for less than a week, im not sure if I will return to this place for future adoptions, but I won't not recommend coming here as I feel rescues are the way to go. read more

We adopted a chow-mix rescue puppy in January & had a great experience with Wright Way. Our new puppy was rescued in MS, and we adopted her at about 3 months. She is our older dog's best friend already. Most important-- she's healthy, happy & loves her new home. The adoption process was smooth once we found a puppy that was available & a good fit. We drove over an hour, but it was well worth it. They are thorough, give medical records, and support for a successful adoption. A plethora of problems with this rescue from both a fosters and adopters perspective. Adopters: online survey approved almost immediately which is odd, especially since we have two dogs and two cats. Boom...Hurray...Approved! No questions, no meet and greet? Not even any questions? Fosters: my friend is both a donor and a foster. Foster had 9 puppies. 8 weeks of taking care of these pups and mom. Hosing out their garage 3 x's a day. Pew! But doing it and taking care of these babies. At 8 weeks, the foster takes the pups in for their 8 week check and leaves them at the vet. Before this, she was informed to tell them if any of the pups were spoken for and to inform them. We had spent substantial time helping with the pups and picking the one that fit the best with our family. So she brought the pups in, she submitted our payment and our adoption approval along with the pups we wanted to adopt. The vet said thank you and said the pups Would be available for us to pick up two Days later...she told us we were good to go because that's what she was made to believe. 1 day later the pups were on the website and reserved immediately...both the foster and I were under the impression that these pups would not be put on the website. Communication is non-existent with this rescue. The foster mom was misinformed and lead to believe that some of these pups were to be reserved and kept off of the website. She, in turn, told us we could have these puppies. She feels terrible, we are so disappointed. My whole family was devastated. Called the scheduler while this was happening and zero accommodation. Since then, had to cancel check ($30 charge because no one will answer my emails about what they're doing with my check). Have to return all the puppy stuff I bought equaling $160 and have to explain to my special needs granddaughter that the puppy we chose is not going to be ours. All in all....will not consider this rescue again. Pass up any petfinder pets that say Morton Grove cuz those are Wright-way. Forget those...do no waste your time. The foster mom was so angry she has stopped As a donor and a foster. Not sure what the heck is going in with this rescue, but they have a lot to work out. Bad all around. We tried adopting a dog from this shelter last month. The process was very much first come, first served, and we were lucky to be first on a dog that we thought would fit our lives. After consulting on the phone with the trainer, we went to go pick her up. When we were there to adopt her, they told us that she had hip dysplasia, which we were not aware of before. We went ahead and took her home anyway because we were willing to work around that. However, when we got home, we found she was actively aggressive around any dog in eyesight, even those across the street. They did not tell us this, instead just referring to it as being defensive. Unfortunately, because we live in the city and cannot avoid other dogs when walking, we had to give her back. I would not recommend adopting from this shelter. They deliberately hid medical information from us until we came to adopt, and lied about the severity of the dog's aggression. They seem to want to get dogs in and out instead of actually placing them in homes that fit their needs (aka a home with a fenced in backyard for her to not be around other dogs). The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is because they refunded our adoption fee. read more

I'll start off by saying all the bad reviews scared me! But I went through the adoption process anyway and couldn't be happier with my new puppy from Wright way I received last week. First off, in order to adopt...I had to stalk their website every few hours. I probably applied to over 50 dogs. The only way I believe you can get a puppy...is if you apply very quickly after the puppy has just been posted. Check the available dates...sometimes the pups say available but someone has probably reserved them already and website is not updated. Understand many people are adopting during COVID. I realized my best bet was only applying to newly posted pups, like the same day it's posted Or it's no point. As far as Wright way answering calls or emails...understand how many calls or emails they get. I didn't need to call them...either I got a email saying I reserved the puppy...and if I heard nothing that means I didn't get them. You do get occasional emails saying the dog was reserved but it doesn't include a name. People complain about this but I just waited for email saying I reserved a pup. I actually reserved one puppy, changed my mind, emailed them and they emailed back and canceled reservation. The puppy I received...I applied three weeks ago. I got a call from Wright way saying the person didn't pick up the dog and I was the next person to reserve the dog. I was able to set up the appointment over the phone. As briefly as I can -- this place is disgusting. The kennels are too small, the dogs don't seem to be taken outside on walks or for exercise (they just go to the bathroom in their cages). The dog I adopted therefore isn't potty-trained. The space is also very small so all the dogs are just barking and hollering all day long. It was like walking into hell. I couldn't wait to get out and I feel misery for any dog that has to stay there for an extended period. The cost of adopting an animal is above average for the area, and I'd love to know what theyre doing with that money, because it's not going into making better conditions for the dogs. read more

I would NOT recommend this place to anyone...ever! They neutered our pup before 8 weeks...way too early. Go to another shelter, please. We adopted our puppy and 4 days later he became deathly ill with Parvovirus. We didn't take him back to the shelter for care because they were closed at the time and we needed to get him in to the ER as he was dying. After 6 days of IV fluids and a plasma transfusion, he survived. $13k later in Vet bills and Wright Way is not helping in any way. We asked for them to reimburse us what it would have cost to care for him there on their on-site vet, as well as records of his litter mates and they are acting like we don't exist. There are plenty of places to adopt a pet and Wright Way is the WRONG WAY to go if you want a place who cares. We feel so helpless and they don't care at all to assist us with these bills. A truly HORRIFIC experience. Never again. If I could give 0 stars I would...if I could go into the negative...I would. I was looking to add a dog to our family, and ended up at Wright Way when my mom "Shared" a post about a dog that seemed to fit the profile. Unfortunately (for us!) he was adopted out quickly. I reached out to Wright Way to see if they had any other dogs known to be friendly to young kids. At first the response was abbreviated (and I was going to look elsewhere), but they then seemed more willing to help and corresponded with me over several days. A few Sundays ago, we ended up doing a walk-in "just to look," (hah, we all know how that turns out..) and I immediately noticed a dog named "Maggie." She just stood out to me, even after we viewed the rest of the dogs. Long story short, we took "Maggie" home that day. I worked with Todd through the process. He was helpful and patient with us (me + two littles). We ended up being there for 2 hours from start to finish. It was easy to adopt. I had already filled out an application and was approved the previous day. (I told them this, but I honestly don't think anyone verified.) They couldn't tell me too much about "Maggie," but were good about helping alleviate some of my potential concerns (i.e. What IF she showed aggression towards the kids?). I received all paperwork on her, which included extras. It turns out that "Maggie" was an owner surrender, and the previous owner furnished paperwork on her. I don't think anyone at Wright Way (or the previous intake facility downstate) took a look at the paperwork: there were many inconsistencies. The original paperwork showed her correct age of 2 years, while the intake paperwork said she was 1. The original paperwork showed she received a 3 years rabies vax, and the intake was marked as 1 year. They didn't scan her for an existing microchip and instead just chipped her, so now she has TWO. She had injuries and scabs on her face and body, and I had to inquire. No one could tell me what happened to her. (She was at the intake facility downstate for 2 weeks, so I feel like someone should know. As she was being loaded into my car, they came out with a tube of ointment..) Finally, this original paperwork had the full name AND street address of the previous owner who surrendered her. "Maggie" was also wearing a collar embroidered with the previous owner's home phone number. It is obvious to say that this information should have never been passed along to me. I was also given the same spiel that I needed to purchase the food "Maggie" was eating: the black bag of Fromm. (They're feeding the shelter pets Fromm?!) in order to properly transition her. I was told to purchase more Fromm from them in the future, they'd price match, ship, etc etc. Big sales pitch. Surprise: "Maggie" won't touch the Fromm. At first I thought she was nervous about all of the transitions she'd been through, but we've had her 10 days now. I've had to entice her with other things added in order for her to eat any of the kibble. So there's that. She is fitting in really nicely though, and I'm SO HAPPY that we took her home. She's so great in our bustling household and with the kids, and they adore her already. She takes treats so gently, is starting to respond to commands, and is a good watchdog. We have some manners to work on, but she's just a sensitive lover who will climb her 50# into your lap! She's exactly what I was looking for, and I'm glad I took a chance going to a rescue-shelter (vs. the foster situation I was insisting a new dog come from). read more

Then I was told I had to go to Des Plaines which I did. They were very nice & quite helpful but I certainly don't consider $171 to be free! If negative stars were an option, we'd choose that! While we appreciate the concept behind rescuing animals with the goal of providing them a good home, our experience was with this facility was horrific. We adopted a puppy that was much sicker--deadly sick--than we were led to believe. One week and $2500 later, we had to put the sweet puppy to sleep. She had distemper. The dog should have never been released for adoption when they knew she had an "upper respiratory infection" which, as we learned, is an early sign of distemper. During the two days while our pup was extremely ill, we reached out to the shelter. They offered no assistance with her care. At one point, they just stopped communicating. The manager refused to call us and hid behind one of her team members. We eventually had an email exchange, and it was lies upon lies. While they did eventually refund us the adoption fee, they absolutely refused any financial assistance for the medical care the dog received despite knowing the dog's illness originated at their facility. In talking with several veterinarians, to ask for reimbursement given the situation, was a fair and reasonable request and expectation. WWR claims they cannot pay for private medical expenses because they are a non-profit organization. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE OTHER REVIEWS! The complete lack of compassion and zero level of professionalism and accountability is concerning. Go elsewhere. There are much better, and affordable, adoption facilities. read more

This shelter is doing good by rescuing dogs and cats and rehoming them. However, six months after I adopted my dog, he developed serious gastrointestinal issues, diarrhea, and hot spots. He has been to three vets offices. He has since six months needed to be on one specific HP dog food, be administered allergy medication, and be provided skin ointments. He cannot eat any brand of dog food or treats. He has been nothing but a dog with gut and skin issues. I have had several dogs and cats in the past rescued from shelters; this dog takes the cake. I wanted a puppy but have had my hands full and have had several expensive vet bills since. I do not recommend adopting from this shelter. I would never adopt from this shelter again. Many of the kennels are overpopulated, the floors coated with urine and feces; when you open the front door there is an overwhelming odor of cleaning chemicals and dog feces/urine. Since I adopted my dog he has been nothing but a handful; he has skin and gut issues that persist and go unresolved. However, they are managed. read more

Having recently adopted an older dog with medical issues, I felt like I had to adopt him to get him out of this place. That being said, I feel they are sincere in that they want to do whats best for the dogs, but are too busy to really follow their own protocol all the time to ensure this is so. They seem to sell ALOT of puppies here (and a lot of Fromm dog food). The older dogs do not seem to be walked on a regular basis, and are stressed. It shows in the feces on their fur, sores on legs, etc. The puppies are easy to maneuver, clean the kennel, and not stressed about relieving themselves on the floor/kennel like a potty trained adult dog is. They other thing that is pretty apparent is that they don't dig into your references, or the actual home you will be bringing the dog home to. I did overhear them asking for a copy of an adopters lease, but it just seemed like most people coming and going had no clue what bringing home a puppy really entails. Flip side of that is the Maddie app that they send to you via email, for regular check ups and recommendations for training, and issues that may pop up along the way is a pretty cool resource for new dog parents. Concerned over antibiotics given to me to "continue" treatment since it appeared to have many extra pills, meaning the 10 day regiment had not been given consistently while in their care, skipped doses. Again my feeling is that this place is super busy with a lot of employees and volunteers, makes it easy for things to fall through the cracks. The reservation process a little strange but it basically "holds" the dog so that when you get there it is actually there for you to meet and interact with. If Wright-Way would up their dialog/communication and response time with interested adopters they would probably fair better with reviews. If you see the dog you really want to adopt, do your research. Check to see if the breed meshes well with your lifestyle and yard (or lack of), your activity level, and your family (like kids), because it seems like this rescue is not going to take the time to make sure you are a good fit for the dog. I got the feeling that if you paid the adoption fee, you were approved. Be open minded, aware of what you are getting into and patient. Nice people, lots of puppies and some really great dogs. read more

BE AWARE! Wright-Way Rescue DOES NOT give a trial time to make sure your puppy is a good fit. Most places give 7-10 days to make sure your puppy is a going to work with your family life. We adopted a puppy on Thursday and it was not working out so we brought him back on Saturday. They were not very friendly once they knew why we were there. They seemed annoyed that we were bringing him back. We had him less than 48 hours. Wright-Way would not return even a portion of what we paid. They said they were not obligated to return any money. I'm wondering if there was a different manager there at the time if they would have returned our money. Most annoying is that they are going to "resell' this puppy and make double the amount on him. If you deal with this rescue, make perfectly sure you have the puppy best suited for you and your family before you leave. Otherwise, you just made a generous donation to them if you have to bring the puppy back. read more

I genuinely believe this shelter does everything possible under the daunting circumstances that they face on a daily basis. Unfortunately, irresponsible people are the cause of overcrowding shelters, making it difficult for volunteers and employees to keep up. THERE IS ALWAYS A RISK when adopting. Sometimes it isn't 100% known where the animal comes from, what living conditions they were in previously before being rescued. My experience here was pleasant. Staff was super friendly, and informative and seemed to really care about their animals. Overall fairly clean, considering the little front of house space they have. I successfully reserved a puppy not long after its litter was posted as available. This litter was Nathan, Nessa, Nicky, Nyla and Nika. I got a response saying I was reserved for one of the puppies, and that I would be contacted for a meet/adoption meeting the following week once the puppy arrived in Morton Grove. Only after this did I do my due diligence on Wright Way. This was a mistake on my part. Had I done so, I would have never bothered with this place and helped bolster a business that has never made public just exactly why and how they have so many puppies year-round, and whether they are complicit in the immoral puppy mill business. Needless to say, I set my standards very low, and prepared myself to potentially rescue this puppy *from* this rescue, and prepare to take it to the vet ASAP regardless of what the medical record said. It's been nearly 3 weeks, and not only is that puppy no longer on the website, I also never heard from Wright Way. No surprise. At this point, I can hope *only* that the puppy isn't currently dead from parvo, or worse, something less malevolent but entirely treatable, given Wright Way's abysmally reputed care standards, and that instead they just gave them away to someone else who happened to be there that day. WWR gives negative f*cks about the entire adoption process. I was prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt, but my experience unfortunately was similar to so many others. In conclusion, I'm so glad I never got a chance to sign that ridiculous "non-disparagement" clause upon adoption, one, so I could write this Yelp review without blood on my hands, and two, because I bet if more people spoke up about their experiences here, the truth would come out about this place. read more

We adopted a beautiful Whippet/Greyhound and they provided NO education about the breed, no education about his routine, and this place is an absolute mess. Ridiculously understaffed. We had to beg to pay the $345 to leave with our adult dog ($445 for pups). No collar, leash, food--anything comes with that cost. We bought an awful leash for $16.99 that we will only use to bring him home. They force you to buy a $54 bag of food to leave with as "that's what they feed him" and it "can't be found at local pet stores" -- yet, he refused to eat his first 3 meals. He's underweight and we had to entice him with eggs in his food to get him to eat. We reached out to a local greyhound/whippet rescue who was kind enough to share their adoption paperwork to help provide us the education we needed to have us confident in our new pups care. read more

I adopted a puppy from this place. I've had my fur baby 8 years now. Luckily he came to my home. Because the first issue was the shelter adopted him out at 5 weeks. To young to be away from mom. In the 8 years I've had him. I put out at least 8,000 a year in medical bills for him. He's on two monthly prescriptions from time I got him. To him have a comfortable life. I adopted a puppy and they lied by a lot on the breed. Then when I found the breed it was a breed that was restricted where I live. Also the dog was aggressive, had a lot of behaviors, not good with kids or anyone coming over. I had no choice but to return the dog. Had to jump through so many hoops to return the dog. Then I found out they adopted this dog out the same day to a family who had a kid. The family somehow got my number and they had the same concerns I did with the dogs behaviors. The rescue should have took time to evaluate the dog and did some behavioral evaluation and training. They were very rude to me. Now I have a huge emergency animal hospital bill. Was told I was gonna get my adoption fee back and that never happened. I was also told (after the puppy got sick) that there was a vet's office I could have gone to and not incurred any fees but that was not communicated at the time of adoption. Just poor communication all around, which was not helpful for a first time dog owner. Thankfully the puppy's condition has improved greatly. Now to pay the hospital bill. ;0( read more

This rescue provided Parvo puppies to Lamb's Farm. My company had Lamb's Farm at a work event last week and my coworker adopted one and he had parvo and passed on 2 days ago. Do your research on rescue's people. Heartbroken knowing how this tiny puppy had to suffer and I would guess that the puppies that were brought to my company with him that day have pravo as well. read more

My family adopted a dog from Wright Way and upon taking the dog to our own vet within the first week of having her, we learned she had a collapsed trachea, pneumonia and parasites. Our vet told us she was probably days away from death without treatment. This is a dog we were told was in excellent health. Contacted Wright Way and they said there wasn't anything they could do other than take the dog back. We obviously would never return a dog, especially to a place where she was so badly neglected. Instead we spent thousands of dollars to save our brand new dog. Upon doing research about this "rescue" we found many other people who experienced similar situations but due to the adoption contract stating if you speak badly about the rescue they can take legal action- many people don't speak up. What kind of "rescue" has a clause about legal actions if you speak badly about them?? One who knows they are doing the wrong things!! We also found out that the family who initially gave up the dog told Wright Way that the dog was 12 and gave them her birthday. Wright Way gave us a totally different birthday and told our family she was 8. I would NEVER recommend adopting from them or supporting them. In my opinion, their practices are dishonest, disgusting and the opposite of what advocates for animals should be doing. read more

If I could give this rescue 0 stars I would. I had a horrible experience and the communication and help from the staff was nonexistent. I participated in the foster to adopt program, basically fostering my dog until she was spayed and I could adopt her. After taking her home, I had a couple medical concerns, including cysts and a deformed back leg. They said they will look at her when she comes to get spayed. Mind you, I was told her surgery would be in 3-4 weeks due to backup from COVID. I understood the delay for surgery, but was extremely mad that they wouldn't address my concerns in a timely matter, so I took my dog to a local vet for a free rescue consultation. I also discovered she had untreated worms, of which I was unaware of. I had to go to the rescue for medication, in which they didn't even exam her, just gave me pills in a sandwich bag with vague instructions. She was apparently given a demormer upon rescue, which obviously wasn't true and did no further testing to confirm. Weeks after requesting the dogs medical records for my vet, was I told she was heartworm positive. I had absolutely no idea and this was weeks after I got her. They explained that they provide the "slow kill" method at no cost. Turns out, that method is not FDA approved and causes more health problems because of the prolonged treatment; the dog can die from the heartworm before the treatment works, which can take years. My vet said to absolutely not go that route and ask if they provide injections. Until I asked about other treatment options, they hadn't mentioned anything. They offered the injections, at $800 out of pocket. They would not pay for any of the cost and was told it was up to me. They also only provide the injections if you buy from them, so you are responsible to find a vet and have them administer treatment, which would cost even more considering tests, medication, etc. I officially adopted my dog today and am thrilled I never have to go back to that rescue. I am so disappointed with the lack of concern for my dog and their sub-par medical intake exams. NEVER USE WRIGHT WAY RESCUE. read more

Terrible. First, the adoption process is horrible. Your application will get approved right away (I don't think they check anything on it) but it is impossible to reserve a pet through the request process. We finally got a pet by following them on Facebook. They post dogs that are available immediately and will respond to emails if you email for that specific dog and are available to go get it at a certain time. If you really want a dog from this place, that's how to get one. The minute we got our dog home, he would not stop biting us. It was miserable. Wright Way said that he nipped but did not tell us he bit. We looked at his paperwork and it showed that he had been adopted before and was returned the same morning we got him. When we were at Wright way and asked about his history they said they didn't know the history of the dogs they get, even though they clearly knew he was returned that morning. I found the previous adopter on Wright way's Facebook reunion page and she told me that her family returned the dog because he would not stop biting them. They documented several biting incidents for Wright Way but Wright Way didn't tell us any of this. When I reached out to them to tell them how irresponsible it was to adopt out a dog with a history of biting without telling us and that I knew they knew he was a biter, they didn't care. They said they would never lie to an adopter because it would set everyone up for failure but that's exactly what they did to us. After over a thousand dollars of training, the dog is much better and I think we will be able to keep him but Wright Way is not a responsible shelter and I would recommend going somewhere else. Also, as a side note I'm very suspicious of how they get all those litters of puppies. It would not surprise me if they purchased them from puppy mills. Very hard to believe that many litters are surrendered because "the owner couldn't care for them." read more

This place is an underground mill. Not only do they have the same types of dogs coming in but they label breeds wrong. I adopted a beautiful "Australian shepherd/lab.... I had to return him after 9 months bc of his behavior biting and cornering. The recommended trainee even said I can't have him. Then I got a cute quiet "lab/border collie " only to find out she is anything f but that . She is now almost 3, will not trust anyone . Cry's and whippers all the time . From the moment I decided to adopt a pet, starting the process with Wright Way was very smooth. I appreciate the fact that they want an application completed and reviewed to ensure the animals are going to go to a caring home. Creating a reservation was easy! I drove 3 hours to get there, came in for my time and was welcomed quickly by a friendly staff. I left with a sweet kitten, adoption instructions in hand and a few toys for the ride home. I continue to donate supplies and help when needed as this is a non profit organization and their goal is to RESCUE and care for the animals and in many cases who need a lot of care from their past. this is the best place ever to adopt a pet. 13 years ago we adopted our beautiful Leia. She has since passed. We wanted to adopt again, tried other location close to home. Not a very good experience. We reapplied to Wrightway . And adopted our Beautiful Joanie. I will agree with some complaints, it was unorganized trying to fill out paper work . Go over here now go over there . But in the end these people are volunteering, to put these animals in a good home. read more

Adopting during the pandemic is not the easiest process, but I think the reason why is great for the loving animals who need homes: there is high demand for pets right now and they are adopted very quickly. We started off with applying for one puppy and were told he was already reserved. I began checking the website daily for new available puppies and found our girl two days later. Within less than a day I received notice that she was already reserved, but that must have ended up falling through as less than a day later I received an update that she could be ours if we wanted her. From there the process was fairly smooth and we were able to bring her home a week later. We did have to bring her back a couple of days later because they were unable to spay her right away, but they made that process very easy. While we did not get our first choice (a choice based solely on photos from the website as you cannot meet the puppies during the pandemic) we did end up with the most amazing puppy ever. We are so grateful to Wright Way for bringing our little love into our lives and within a week of welcoming our girl into her forever home we knew that we could not have picked a more perfect pup.
