Last night (June 10, 2022) our AC stopped blowing cold air. I called them and they indicated they would come out between 3-5pm. The tech arrived within the window and was very informative and respectful. For the rest of this review.. please keep in mind that I truly feel the tech was amazing. After 5-10 minutes the tech had identified what the issue was. The capacitor was bad. After inquiring on the part he quoted me the price.. it was 830$!!!! Now let's break down this price.. 150$ to come out on the weekend. I found the most expensive 70/7.5 capacitor I could find on google for 125$ at home depot. Let's round that up to 200 - right.. gotta make a profit after all. They are ten miles out.. so 20 miles at current gas prices would be about 5$ but lets round up to 10$. Mileage at 1$ a mile.. 20$ there. Plus the labor. Now quick math here.. 150 + 200 + 30 = 380. Add labor in.. Guy was here for an hour.. Lets say 200$. That's 580. But nope they charged us 830$. That being said.. I have never felt more ripped off in my life. Will never call this company again and I will tell everyone I know about my experience with them. Service: A/C system maintenance ****Side note - not sure why it indicates I live in CA when we live in Royse City Texas. ******EDIT: I received a call from Firehouse shortly after posting this and they elaborated that there was a clerical error and the pricing was incorrect. We went on vacation and came back to find out that the air conditioner in the house was on it's last leg and not cooling much. We went through American Home Shield (ugh, that's another story) and they got someone out to take a look. The coil was leaking coolant somewhere and needed to be replaced. AHS was basically not going to pay for anything (like always) and we could get a new coil or a completely new AC unit. We were given some prices and wanted to think about it. On the recommendation of a friend, we called Brandon's to come out and take a look. Basically, they told us that if we fixed or replaced the coil, it would fry the condenser in the back yard in a short amount of time. So, we priced a new AC unit and it was about $1,000 less than the first estimate we got from the other company. Jump to about 4 days later and the Brandon's crew were at my house when they said they would be. They replaced the condenser outside and the coil from the inside (which is very tricky) in about 2 hours. I watched the entire time and they did solid work. It's not cheap, but it was the exact price I was quoted and everything went smoothly. The new unit comes with a full 1 year warranty and an extended 10 year warranty for some of the parts. Overall, very pleased with their service. Thumbs up!

The next day someone came and i told him, it appear as though the leak i coming from elsewhere. They proceeded to insulate the pipe even though the drops werent coming from there. They told me they needed to replace the coil for 2800 dollar because insulating the pipes was half the problem. I declined at the time. Today, my kitchen ceiling collapsed, i began removing sheet rock and ran the AC unit. I isolated the incident and discovered that probably during winter one of the discharge copper pipes burst, not even the one they insulated. There is a gash in the pipe. And to think they charged me 300 for service not needed (to fix the initial leak i called about) and gave me a 2800 quote(which contrary to their statement would also have not fixed the initial leak i called about). Thank god i didnt agree. This is extremely disappointing. They were prepared to happily charge me 3100 for non needed work and would have never fixed the issue I initially called about. .
