Came out on a Sunday morning and at least temporally fixed the problem= and then came back on Monday when it did flair up again due to the weirdness of the electronic parts problem...Some companies would have said we had a major problem...net net..it was a sixty dollar capacitor problem that they repaired and didn't charge fo the second service call.\ Very professional! My husband has been using Ken Parker for years. He would even leave a key for Ken Parker (when he made house calls) to just go in the house and work on things. We have referred MANY people including my husband's company for a huge maintenance contract. We purchased a unit (inside and out) from Ken Parker. We financed it for 2 years. I called Ken Parker for service because the fan outside was not coming on. When the guy came out he said we needed a part that he had to order for something on the inside unit. I was a little confused it was for the inside, but they know more than I do. I was informed by the girl in the office at Ken Parker this was covered under warranty. After two weeks of no contact, I called and was told the part was in and arranged for my daughter to come to our house the day the service was scheduled. I called the morning of the service person was to come out just to confirm the appointment. I was told everything was good for that morning. At 11:30 I called Ken Parker as the tech had never showed up. I was then told that the part did not come in and he would not be coming. No courtesy call to say this at all. My daughter waisted her whole morning for nothing. The tech came back the next Tuesday with the part and then said that we needed a new motor outside because the fan was not working. That's the whole reason I called in the first place was about the outside unit. Anyway, they had to order that part and we waited another almost 2 weeks. They came out to put that part on and I was still being informed this was under warranty. I spoke to the owner and he said the parts are paid but the labor is not. I understand that. Well we then proceed to get a bill after waiting several weeks after speaking to them about it and the bill was for over $2,000. Obviously, we were not happy and did not intend to pay 2,000 for warranty work. After many calls, I told them that we would agree to pay $500 for the labor and that was it. He reduced the bill to $900 and said we could pay $500 now and pay the rest out at $10/mo. Needless to say I am very sad that it has come to the point that we have to find another AC company due to the un-ethical practices of this company. Until they reduce our billing to the $500 we agreed to pay in labor we are not paying anything. I feel like as long as we have been a customer with this company 20+ years, with many, many referrals this is a slap in the face. I am now going to file a BBB complaint on them as this is extremely poor practice. Also we never authorized to pay that much and if they had said it was going to be so much on warranty we would have went elsewhere. read more

About 3 to 4 months ago I contacted ken Parker services because I was having a lot on condensation dripping from my vents. They came out and checked everything out and told me my problem was my heat unit was not comparable with the AC unit we had installed about a year ago. Told me I needed a larger unit and then I shouldn't have any more problems. So I purchased a $4000 unit that they recommended. Had to call them back next day because unit wouldn't come on. The guy that came said unit was installed improperly. He had to get another guy out here to help him lift it up higher. Something to do with drain and they had to rework the actual drain. A couple of days after that I called them back because condensation is worse than ever. First guy says it's the thermostat. But didn't have one on him. Next day different guy and he said it wasn't thermostat. Tested everything and said I needed to pack insulation around my vents and that would fix it. Notice he said "i" needed to. Even though I had just paid them 4 grand to fix this problem but he said to do this would be more. So I had my son go up and do that. Waited a few more days. Condensation is still terrible so I call them again. The lady I spoke with was very nice and I felt like she truly wanted to help. Each time I'd call she would either get with owner or the crew but in the end they could find nothing wrong with my unit and no reason for the extreme condensation. One of the crew then claimed that every time they came out my doors were open and it was real humid. But that was only once while I had a guy painting. A couple of weeks later I had a plumbing co come out to move a gas line. When he was figuring my estimate he had to look at everything on gas. He then informed me my unit had not been installed up to code. Something wasn't there that was supposed to be. I can't recall exactly what it was but plumber wanted to charge me 200 to bring it to code. So I called again. They got a guy out here later that day and fixed that problem. I pointed out my condensation again to no avail. A week or two later and I'm really getting tired of all the drips so I crawl up there to look around. That's when I noticed every place that duck work attached to the unit I could feel a lot of cold air coming out. They were barely attached. No wonder my electric bill was up. That's when a friend told me they have a substance called gunk or goop or something like that. They were supposed to smear it around where duck meets unit. Mine had none. So I called again. They got a guy out here in a couple of hours. He went up with a bucket of goop. Comes back down and said all done. It's now been over a month later and I still have lots of condensation and now I'm getting mold around my vents. I went back up last night and yes that guy smeared some stuff around duck work connections. I could see it on top and visible sides. But when I placed my hands around to see how well it sealed I still felt a lot of cold air. I leaned real low to inspect all around and there's not a drop of sealer on bottom of any connections or the back side of a couple. I'm at a total loss as what to do. Do I call them yet again? Do I buy the stuff and try to repair myself? Do I hire another AC company? I'm 56, unemployed and widowed by 6 months. Trying to fix my house and survive on life Ins and it seems every place I hire wants to take advantage of my situation. I highly recommend anyone that hires Parker services (or any or service) gets a second opinion before agreeing to what they suggest and then double check every single little thing they are supposed to do before you pay.
