First the website can be a bit weird and if you are getting day passes and it keeps saying its 'timing out' you need to make a Plainfield recs account first and it stops being weird. On my visit i purchased tickets/admission on the website because i could not tell if i could get in on location or not. Once we got thru the check in process we went to see the indoor pools first.... Well they were closed. OK... Went outside and its pretty expansive and clean. One of the non-tube slides was down as well as looks like 1/3rd of the exterior swimming items were down for what looked like cleaning since i saw staff working on it. From the maps view basically the huge lazy river side. As a non-resident the pricing i feel was a good value for goofing off in the water for roughly 3 hours. Onsite food isn't anything to rave about but at least it is available and it was not crazy prices. Tons of life guards doing an awesome job from what i could tell while watching the people watching the rest of us so i felt super safe and confortable they were keeping an eye on all the kids. I didnt grab any photos because i dont really like publishing anything with people in it. You will be pleastly surprised with what is in the water park area let alone the other things you can do here. I am sure i will be back again and again.

There doesn't seem to be a majorly competitive/pressure-filled vibe here at all. There are kids there who have never taken a class, and some you can tell who have been doing gymnastics since they started walking, but everyone is given the same amount of time and attention. When a child masters a new skill, they get to ring a bell and everyone there claps for them---it's really cute and a great way to build self esteem in these kiddos. Then she called the GM to ask how to do a return who then argued back-and-forth with me on the phone for five minutes acting like I was an idiot stating that it was a miscommunication and they can't return it without the receipt even though it's on my app and I specifically called BEFORE going up there to make sure I could return it! He was very rude, unprofessional and was absolutely unwilling to take it back. Their employee who gave me the misinformation shouldn't be my problem, they should honor what was told to me! The instructors lead everyone in a group warm up first and then we were split into groups to take turns with the apparatuses. I felt more naturally inclined with the silks and got to try out some beginners tricks! The pole fitness was a little harder for me but still a fun challenge. The instructors for both halves were helpful and encouraging. They have a variety of class rates (as low as $15/class) and a wide schedule of classes between this location and their new studio in Fountain Square. I'd definitely try a full silks class again!

I attended the LesMills Body Pump promotion with a friend and it was a great workout. This was my…read morefirst time at thIS YMCA since it's construction. The faculty was beautiful two-story building. The class itself was taught by three instructors who alternated leading the class and assisting guests. The class lasted about an hour and all of the materials required (weights, bar, yoga mat, towels, sanitizers, aerobic boards, etc.) were provided. The class lasted about an hour and let me tell you I definitely felt it that day and the following days. It was total body too, which I appreciated. If I'm going to leave the comfort of my home I need you to work out my entire body (arms, chest, back, abs, glutes, thighs, etc.). The music also helped keep me motivated. One whack song and I suddenly loose the encouragement to workout. This class kept the music live and entertaining (so much so I did a little break down during the squats section!) Afterwards, you can go to the locker room and shower. Towels and soap are provided - you'll just need to bring everything else. As I was waiting for my friends I took a little self-directed tour, which reveals a children's play area, a pool, and restaurant on the first floor. The second floor had stationary machines, 3 basketball courts, and an areas where there looked to be personal training sessions going on. The building is a glass exterior so you had a nice view while on the second floor. For all the things they offered then membership fee of around $35 per month appeared very fair. I think there may also be a student/government employee discount - check it out! I enjoyed myself and will definitely be returning!
