Bizarre experience! Every time I go into this store I get stared down by the employees and in general the vibe is off by how snooty they all are. Regardless, I keep trying to shop there but today takes the cake. I tried on a black sweater and it was too big so i hung it back up and started walking out of the store. As I'm almost at the door one of the employees is chasing after me yelling repeatedly "did you hang it up where you got it from?". I have no idea why she would find the need to chase me down and yell that, making every patron look at us. Did she think I was stealing a $700 sweater? I have no idea but it was truly a very strange interaction. And if you were wondering YES, I did hang it up exactly where I got it from (which isn't even my responsibility considering I don't work there). Stay away from this store unless you want to get harassed by middle age women who are clearly very miserable with their lives. read more

I have to write a review of my favorite place to shop in Manhattan Beach. The whole staff is super friendly and assertive. They all help each other out and know the merchandise well. You just have to tell them what you're shopping for and watch the magic happen! I never feel pressured to buy anything and sometimes I walk out of there with a piece I would have never picked out for myself. I always get complimented on the clothes that I've purchased at this store. If you're ever in Manhattan Beach you must go check them out. It's been there since 1988 for a reason. I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Wrights. Back in October, I bought a cashmere sweater from them that cost over $2k. At first, I really enjoyed wearing it, however, by April 2025 the sweater started shedding and falling apart. It leaves large chunks of black fuzz all over my clothing and any furniture I sit on. For the price I paid, I was expecting a quality product. I went back to Wrights hoping they would either replace the sweater or issue me a full credit, but they were not willing to fully remedy the situation. They offered me a $400 credit at the store. While I appreciate the gesture, for such a high end store, I expected larger compensation for the poorly-made piece of clothing. Instead some of their staff tried to gas light us--telling us that all cashmere sheds. As someone with multiple pieces of high end clothing, that is simply not the case. While the store has some great brands and pieces I like, I can't shop there in the future or recommend them to anyone else. Expensive stores should have good customer service. What a waste of $2,000. I have no interest in ever returning. read more

I donno what these people are talking about poor customer service because they're anything BUT POOR customer service ! I shop professionally for a living and I don't go anywhere to personally buy designers for myself unless it's there for the very fact that they care about me and always follow up. I don't care about sale prices and just so you and I know it's a mark up, but this establishment is fabulous for their attention to detail for everyone that walks in here. What can I say about Wright's other than amazing! Katije, Emma, and Monica are fantastic and take the time to help pull outfits together. I travel a lot for business and when I am in Manhattan Beach I tend to do a walk/jog along the beachfront (it's gorgeous). Afterwards I pop into Wright's --never judgment when they see this somewhat disheveled woman in need of new clothing. I have travelled the world and truly love this store! So glad I accidentally stumbled upon this hidden gem! They have an excellent tight edit of cool, elevated casual pieces from high quality fashion brands like Nili Lotan and Isabel Marant. They also have newer emerging brands. The salespeople are friendly and passionate about fashion. They have a good eye and their recommendations were spot on! I love it that they suggested a top that I normally wouldn't have considered but when I tried it on, it looked amazing! They are a local family owned business that's been around for a very long time and the vibe is so much better than some corporate store. read more

Upon walking in, I was greeted by the owner's son who was very helpful throughout. Pros: Very personal feel to the store, like I could ask for help with an outfit and they'd help me put something together. Cool vibe & aesthetic. FRIENDLY staff. Quality tailoring on all the merchandise...most of it made in the USA from what I could tell. Cons: Somewhat haphazard in layout / display of menswear. Not the greatest selection of shirt brands for men, mainly offerings from 3 brands. All in all, I will be going back, and will probably spend a couple hundred bucks there. :) read more

Nancy has amazing taste - she always picks those Isabel Marant pieces that nobody else has. Same with Inhabit & other premium brands. I think this is a must if you are looking for something special (or just want to treat yourself). Interesting jewelry (Beth Orduna - was one of the first to carry), Melissa Joy Manning and also some great bracelets for those that love arm candy. The girls are very helpful and nice. It is great to not have to drive to Beverly Hills or Santa Monica to shop. OR if you are visiting - it is a place you want to stop in and check out. read more

I live in the area and this is a good place to go for gifts for my wife, and every time I go the staff is very helpful and incredibly friendly. But they are not pushy at all. I find some unique jewelry here that you don't see anywhere else. Yes the prices are expensive, but welcome to Manhattan Beach. If you want to shop at the beach, and you need a last-minute gift that you can't buy online, or want something unique, this is a great place to go. There are tons of shops selling similar things in Manhattan Beach, I find this one to be the most unique, with the broadest selection of different designers. read more

Wrights is less than impressive. The manager Heather was extremely RUDE. My friend was purchasing a few gifts for her 23 year old daughter and needed some assistance with sizing. Heather was talking on her phone and way too busy to help her. My friend from New York wanted to purchase some items that were rather expensive. After Getting the brush off, we decided to take our business some place else. her representing them. My advice is, You are better off driving a little bit further into LA, to shop at Neimans, bloomies, and Saks. The employees are willing to go out of their way to make the customer happy. Plus they have the newest fashionable styles available. Too bad this store really let us down. read more

I wish negative stars were an option. My boyfriend purchased a necklace here for my birthday and they reassured him that if I wasn't happy I could come in and get something I was happy with and refund him the difference. Well when the time came around that I wanted to change it out for something else they said no and that he wouldn't be refunded it would be store credit if anything. (You should mention that to your buyers) I decided to keep my necklace, which in my opinion is way overpriced for the quality. I asked them if I'd be able to get the clasped changed to something that wouldn't fall off, they responded rude and unhelpful. Extremely stuck up. I ended up going to another jewelry store and changed the clasps myself. After 2 weeks of wearing the necklace the stone started chipping and became really sharp to have around my neck. I refused to go back and deal with their attitude. When my boyfriend went in and talk to them about fixing it. They started off by saying no we won't fix it and she must have dropped it. I'm sorry if I can't wear a necklace that cost $700 around my neck without chipping then you shouldn't be pricing your costume jewelry so high. They agreed to send it back to the maker. What do you know. Another month has gone by and would you guess it. Chipping again and extremely sharp. Will see what they say this time around. MY ADVICE. STAY AWAY FROM THIS OVERPRICED STORE AND RUDE STAFF. We always try to support local businesses but this is the last time we will ever shop here. Go to Nordstroms. read more

This used to be an awesome boutique. Expensive, yes, but the clothes were 100% worth it. I went there recently on a trip home and boy was I disappointed. The clothes are still expensive but they didn't have a good selection at all. I really needed a nice dress, which they used to have an abundance of, and now it's just a bunch of over priced tunics and pants. I wish I could have a word with whoever does their buying. read more

Great spot to find men's clothes that you won't find anywhere else. Whoever chooses their inventory does a great job. I constantly think back on some of my favorite shirts, pants, jackets, etc. and nearly all of them have been finds at Wright's. Love their styles. Wright's has an amazing assortment for both women and men. It's my favorite place to get jewelry because their selection is incredible. I also love getting gift for my boyfriend. A real gem of a store in beautiful downtown Manhattan Beach. They have some unique brands here you won't find anywhere else. The owner is a very friendly woman who takes the time to get to know you and gives you recommendations based on what other customers have said. The merchandise here is extremely high quality and mostly made in the US. Only caveat is that it is all fairly expensive compared to other mainstream stores like Banana Republic, Macy's, etc. But you get what you pay for and quality, durable clothing that lasts pays for itself over time. Stepped in while waiting for my college son to be out of his classes. Was greeted warmly and serviced by a lady who I assumed was the owner as she took so much time and care in helping me. Found out she was not but just very good at her job. I bought things I needed and wanted and fun trying things on with an unrushed no push sales lady's help. I had to purchase a new suitecase to get it all home! Amazing Rag & Bone boots, numerous scarves and tops and dresses. All fun and different and the staff was VERY helpful.
