This place is absolutely huge. As far as I can tell they do have the biggest selection of larger and more mature trees. I am concerned about the pricing a bit I think maybe wait for a flyer as it seems like they may have better deals there than in person as the trees we bought were quite pricey. We do love our trees so far though. They setup our appointment and delivered and installed very quickly, maybe an hour or two for two 48" box trees to be installed on the appointment day. The only couple of complaints I have are that the day of the appointment for install they parked the truck with the trees next to one of the trees growing by the sidewalk and when they unloaded the tree a few branches did break, thankfully it was minimal damage but it could have been avoided. Also we tried a couple times to setup buying flowers in bulk for our garden and they said they would call us back when they had them and simply never called back. So if you want a mature tree they've got you covered but the smaller stuff that probably nets less profit may be a no go here. read more

Just finished a big project by Moon Valley. Here's my experience from start to finish. Keep in mind tl;dr version will be at the bottom: My wife and I were looking to do some privacy hedging in the backyard. I called around and wasn't wowed by the service of a couple landscapers right off the bat. I stumbled upon Moon Valley Nursery and figured I'd give them a shot. My first call in, I got in touch with Jason - he provided excellent service from the beginning. He was able to meet with me pretty quickly for a quote. Phase 2 - he came on the day of the quote and provided some different plants/ ideas that would get the job done. After discussing which route I'd like to take, he said he'd crunch some numbers and get back to me. I received the quote later that evening and with a few more back and forth questions - decided to proceed. Once our date was locked he promised to call me the Friday before that date. Friday came and guess what... he called as promised. In fact, everything he stated he would do, he did. I'm currently working with another contractor on an entirely separate project and I'm going crazy. Broken promises, delayed timelines, crew breaking things, etc. Phase 3 - actual plant day comes and the team is right on time. I meet Alex who is in charge of the actual job that day and he is phenomenal. White glove service from start to finish. His guys finish everything quicker than anticipated and he takes the time to walk me through the watering / self care process. All in all, I would definitely recommend reaching out to them. I got 64 trees and for the price/ service, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I had such a positive experience and would recommend anyone else interested to do the same. Came in because we wanted to buy some plants for our garden. They have a huge selection! When we got there, we were greeted right away, Kyle helped us out. He drove us all the way to the end of the nursery to find what I was looking for. A kumquat tree. He is VERY knowledgeable about everything that has to do with the nursery. Polite. Friendly. Outgoing. Great customer service!!!! He did an amazing job in helping us choose our plants!! Will definitely come back again soon, this time for a loquat tree! As for the price, I haven't really looked around to see prices elsewhere. I liked the service and I liked what they have here so I will most likely keep coming here. read more

I wanted a big tree for my back yard. I went to Moon Valley. They are so smart. They know everything. They are honest and kind and above all patient. The tree I had in mind would not work because of sun issues they told me but they did not give up on me. They worked with me to find something that would be happy in my yard. I found it and it is in my yard now and doing great. They are just so easy to work with. Their prices are very fair and they don't tell you one thing and then say they forgot and it will be more with some lame excuse. These guys are in Torrance. They are just wonderful. Patrick the Tree Guy from Moon Valley Nurseries came out today to look at the fruit trees I purchased a few years ago, and the experience was excellent. He took the time to walk through each tree and gave clear, practical advice on how to improve fruit production going forward. What really stood out was that he was not pushy at all. There was no pressure to buy anything. He simply focused on what would actually help my trees perform better. He did suggest a few products that could help, but the recommendations felt honest and helpful, not sales driven. It is rare to get this level of service years after a purchase, and I really appreciated the follow through.
