This is a nice quaint little library! The library staff are so kind and try to help you with what…read moreyou need. This particular branch offers a variety of book selections, DVDs, computer usage, and printer options. The library is not open on Fridays or Sundays. They offer various library events like reading/story times for kids. Check in with the library staff to find out what current events are going on. They are always thankful for book and dvd donations. If their branch doesn't need them, they will ship them to other library branches in the network, or sell them to help with the library. If they do not have a book you're looking for, they can check the San Bernardino County library network. They have access to most of the other library inventories with the exception of Needles. Pacific Crest Trail hikers use the library often when they are in town. If you are local in town, they also need volunteers for the library. Checkout Wrightwod Friends of the Library or ask one of the librarians how you can help the community. It is easy to get a library card. You just need your ID and need to be a resident of San Bernardino County. They also have an APP you can download that reminds you when your book rentals are due or if you don't like carrying an extra card. Ask a librarian what options you have if you are not a resident of the County, I am not sure.

I also buy stamps. They offer all the USPS services. This is a smaller branch. There are only two cashier stands. The line can be long during the holidays, but the USPS staff get the line moving quickly. They do not have a self postage machine like the larger locations do. I appreciate the newer staff they have (2024). Becky knows a lot of the local people, and always assists with any postal service you need. The parking lot is decent; it can be busy at times. I have been to many, many USPS establishments throughout Southern California, and this one is the best.

Spoke to him for about 5 min but our issue was resolved and payment was received 2 days later.

The waiting area was clean, comfortable, and spacious and there were large screens keeping everyone updated with their place in line and which window to go to. The lady who helped my Mom was very professional and organized! She helped us update Mom's direct deposit info as requested and reassured is the reissued checks were on the way. I called the SSA number and was told that the wait time was going to be 120 plus minutes. Since I only have today off. I searched around and found a place to upload docs. She answered all of my questions clearly and patiently, even the ones I felt might have been basic. Most importantly, she was able to help my parents and made the process much easier for them. I truly appreciate her professionalism and support. DPSS is fortunate to have someone like her on their team.

There were two security guards on my visit to this office... a tall, bald white guy, and this younger Hispanic male. The white guy stood by the front door, and greeted people as they entered the building. The Hispanic security guard sat at a desk underneath one of the monitors. He was very unfriendly, which was quite a contrast to all the other workers I encountered here, who were all very cool. This young man should learn how not to be rude, and how to treat customers. He seems to have an attitude problem. Anyhow, I visited here 3 times in the past 2 weeks. All three times when I was helped at a window by an employee, they were all nice, and treated me with respect. One thing that I wish they would improve upon is, the loud speaker that calls out the numbers. I can't make out what number they are calling, because the sound is not clear. It seems too loud, and so the sound is heavily distorted. I bet you might be able to make out what number they are calling better, if you were outside somewhere. Or, if they simply turned down the volume. So yea, the loud speaker is so loud inside, I just can't make out the number. I discovered the numbers being called do not always appear on the monitor screen, so you can't rely on that, either. When I thought I made out a few numbers on my ticket, I approached the window cautiously and after providing my number, asked if he had actually called it. He replied, "yes". I was assisted by a very competent Asian guy. On my previous visit, I was assisted by an old white man, who was also helpful and pleasant. Like I said, I would give 5+ stars if it weren't for that rude Hispanic security guard. If he is going to sit on his a** and do nothing, he could atleast be kind to people. Geez. Just for the record, I hate to have to describe people by their possible race, but I do not know the names of any of these people. This review is for the SSA office in Victorville ONLY. I am not including anyone who I spoke to on the 800 national number. I called that number in March, and spoke to a woman who gave me 100% false, incorrect information, which led to me waiting months and months, wondering why I wasn't hearing from anyone. The instant that I made an appointment at my local SSA office in Victorville, I started to get my case processed right away. Thank you.
