Enjoyed the Crispy Chicken Bbq salad today! Was fantastic. Crispy and delicious and the chicken came hot. If you get the bacon wrapped shrimp, then save your fried onions and add them to your salad. New to town and used Yelp to help pick a place. I would say the 4 star review hits pretty close to what we experienced. Food was good. Nothing to write home about though hit the spot when looking for a place that isn't fast food or a national chain. Soup wasn't as hot you would expect it on a cold day. It was also messy poured into the cup it came table with a decent amount spilled on the saucer. I would say service was a little too attentive which made having conversation difficult. My wife and I were there recently for lunch with nieces and nephews; party of nine. I have seen The Reuben sandwich numerous times on the menu on other visits. It is not the traditional with corned beef, but instead, turkey. I decided to try it this time; unfortunately, with regret. There was no Swiss cheese on it as described. It was almost without Thousand Island dressing, whereby I had to ask for more. Upon receiving the bill, I saw an additional $0.75 charge for the additional dressing; not a back breaker, but unnecessary. I should not have had to ask for more. This was offered as a Reuben on the menu. Not even close. We will be there another time one day, but there would never again be this sandwich on my plate. Ever. Although my husband always enjoyed the meals here, we stopped going years ago after they stopped offering any vegetarian entrees that I could eat. After new ownership, there's been at least one vegetarian option so we went there today for my husband's birthday. We enjoyed the creative drink options (my White Lotus...I think that's what it was called...was probably one of the best drinks I've ever had) as well as the Beef Bourguignon and Portobello Ravioli. Our server, Jordan, was extremely knowledgeable and answered our many questions in a manner this foodie found more than helpful. Because of him and the overall quality of the food, and the seasonally changing menu which hopefully will continue to offer vegetarian options, we definitely will return. read more

My apologies for delay on reviewing wrought iron. We had a table for10 at 4:40pm Friday. Sorry I can't remember servers name but he was upbeat friendly knowledgeable and very helpful. EVERYTHING was fresh hot and served correctly. Bluegill dinners were amazing. 4 of us had and wonderful. The pork chop ribeye was amazing also. I would definitely recommend eating here. Your email on your website is fake so I have to leave this here- Tonight my husband and I went to Wrought Iron to enjoy some drinks and food...as we have done many times in the past. We were sat almost immediately after being told it would be a 20/25 minute wait. Odd. But great! We got sat in the far south side of the building back in the corner. The manager saw us, the waiter saw us...even brought us empty glasses! No water though. We waited. I watched the waiter talk to all 4 tables in the room with us; not one time did he look at us since giving us the glasses. I am shocked. Do we look like different? Young? Bad tippers? Cause I promise we are not. We love your restaurant, but tonight showed us we may not love your staff.   I don't normally write to businesses but the fact the manager (blue shirt, looked important) lady didn't even acknowledge us. I am really sorry to say our experience was less than what we anticipated. We had reservations for 6. The waitstaff was overloaded with customers and we did not get the best service. We spent too much time waiting on everything. Now, to the food. It just was not up to the best. Forty dollars for a Delmonico steak and it was grisly and overcooked. Cold mashed potatoes and vegetable. One order was sent back to the kitchen for a reheat. Just terribly disappointed for almost a $300.00 bill including tip. We treated our children from NC to dinner at the best place in Owosso and were totally disappointing. Like I said, very disappointing, But the truth. Stopped in with extended family while visiting Michigan. A gorgeous building with a functional and great looking bar! We were seated immediately and I truly loved their menus! We started with adult beverages and charcuterie. I thought the charcuterie was fairly basic but well presented. My Manhattan was superb as was everyone else's drinks! I decided on the lamb chop lollipops and lobster bisque while my wife went for their Caesar salad and tomato basil bisque soup. Our family members tried their grilled chicken, cranberry salad, and their house special paella. The food was absolutely delicious! Only surpassed by the service! My wife and I ate here twice on our visit to Owosso. First for lunch which was very good. Had interesting cocktail list. The drinks were strong and very delicious. The food....very, very good. The second time was for dinner. We came after a very disappointing try at dinner at the Tanglewood restaurant in the Comstock hotel. (That was the worst dinner we ever had and left after a couple of bites) The WIG was a million steps up from the Tanglewood. Everything was very good, however the fish was overcooked and since it had been frozen, it made it a bit chewy, but the sauce and everything else on the plate was great. My wife and I are home cooks and consider ourselves foodies. It was great to find such a wonderful restaurant in the small town. Great step up from the other family type restaurants. This will be our, "Go To" place when we visit and eventually move to Owosso. read more

We have are here a few times for dinner and never had a meal that we did not enjoy. For lunch a time or two they could not accommodate a larger crowd on short notice. The food is always delicious and the staff are generally attentive. The only downside is sometimes the proportions are small. Both of us got fries instead of chips with our burgers . There was $1.99 uncharge and both of us had between 10-12 fries . The fries were seasoned good, but felt there should be more for the amount of up charge . Needless to say we will be back. read more

We have enjoyed eating at the WIG since it opened, but our experience this weekend was very disappointing. The calamari (which we have had several times prior) was undercooked. We ordered broccoli soup. The soup tasted and looked like split pea with ham and had very overcooked broccoli in it. The waitress was kind and provided good service. When the owner was told of our food concerns, she came to the table and was very rude, stating that she saw no concerns. They no longer have wings, which were a favorite. It's actually a 4.5 but why not bump it up for local business! Had the following: *Fried calamari: Not over cooked at all!! Wasn't chewing on rubber bands!! They did it right! But they only had rings. I wished it there were some tentacles. The sauce which was served was sweet. It's me, I'm not a fan. Wished it was savory. If they fried thinly sliced lemons and jalapenos and added it with the calamari, that would kick it up! Plus it will appear as a larger quantity - felt the serving was a bit on the small size. *Blackberry Chicken and fried goat cheese salad: Really tasty! Next time I'll have the dressing on the side. It was a bit drowned. Wished there was more spring mix. It was a bit on the sparse side. Chicken wasn't dry and was tasty. *Lemon Pepper Salmon Salad: I didn't have high hopes because usually the salmon is over cooked and flavorless. Whoever the chef was that cooked this, WOW, just WOW!!!! The salmon was cooked to perfection! Not dry AT ALL and seasoned for flavor!! But again, the spring mix was on the sparse side and the dressing drowned it out. For the both of the salads, please reduce the dressing a bit and add more spring mix or add some romaine so the "greens" don't flatten out as much. Definitely will return!!!! 6/29/23 Dinner: I hate to write this review but it must be done. Service excellent (Server from Davidson - male) attentive and professional. Front door hostess also met the standard. Welcoming and polite. The meal: Our guests ordered and loved the fish dishes. Excellent in every way. The Corn Chowder and Lobster Bisque were spot on. Perfect. The Peach salad was flavorful ( please add more peaches) no issue. The Calamari was fine. Prepared well. The Ahi Tuna and Avocado starter was nice. The tuna was super fresh. The Beef tip pasta dish and the Thai flavored pasta entree failed on flavors and execution. The pasta wasn't prepared well ( not Al dente). The beef tips on their own were flavorful and well prepared. The flavors just did not work well together. Pity. The Thai pasta dish also failed as the pasta wasn't prepared well and the dish's flavors didn't work for me. There is nothing Thai about this dish. ( I have lived,worked in and visited Thailand for over 30 years) The Bread and Butter pudding tasted like French Toast. The Crème Brûlée was runny but tasted fine. It appeared that real Vanilla beans were used for this recipe. Exactly what one would expect from a dinning establishment of this caliber. I have dined at the Wrought Iron grill on many occasions and great fare comes from their kitchen. This time around I am afraid more time is required to refine the pasta dishes. read more

This is another updated review. Sad to say on this last visit I was not impressed! For one thing I didn't know that on Saturday's they do not have the lunch menu, just the dinner menu. So many of my favorites were not available. I got the butternut squash soup and it was terrible. Lukewarm, with some kind of hard bits in it and a weird flavor. I sent it back. I also had the coconut chicken. There was absolutely no flavor to the chicken whatsoever, incredibly bland and the chicken was rubbery and gristly. Gross. The only thing I did like were housemade chips. I was very disappointed and I don't think I will be back. The food is just not that great, especially at those prices. read more

We had dinner for a birthday. We were a party of 12. We had wine, appetizers and entrees. The service was a little slow but we were not in a rush so just kind of went with it. There were a couple tables in room we were in that got their food before us even though they were seated after we had already ordered. Again, we were not in a hurry. Since it was a birthday we brought a cake from a bakery to have after dinner. While enjoying our apps the wait staff informed us that we would have to pay to cut the cake in the restaurant. I was flabbergasted! I have never heard of such a thing. I waited tables for years from slinging hash to white glove service and NEVER have I ever heard of this. Our bill was close to $500 and they wanted us to pay more to cut a cake than it did to purchase it! I was absolutely furious. I know the wait staff does not make the rules so I completely understand her position. On the other hand I cannot understand how the people in charge can justify charging customers for bringing a birthday cake. I have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere of this place but I won't be back. They have lost a customer for life because of their petty up charges! read more

Had a wonderful dinner tonight at Wrought Iron Grill. We started with the calamari, Brussel sprouts and the pterodactyl wings. All were delicious! Really impressed with all of the gluten free options. The shrimp risotto and walleye entrees were awesome! Of course, had to have some dessert. Our gluten free eater had the crème brûlée which was really good and others had the bread pudding which was also delicious. Our service was great. Very friendly and efficient server, and the young man helping did an excellent job. He made sure our water was always filled and empty dishes were removed. We are staying in town for a local wedding. We decided to eat here for dinner and so glad we did! The restuarant itself has an industrial feel to it on the inside and is connected to some other local businesses. When we first got seated it was a bit of a wait before a server came over to our table but they were relatively busy. We ordered the pow pow shrimp for our appetizer, it had so much flavor it was delicious! I ordered the Salmon, this too was amazing. The salmon has a jalapeno sauce on top that is so good. My husband ordered the Big Daddy burger that he enjoyed as well. My mother ordered the prime rib sandwich and she liked it as well.
