We were to receive $ back from the State, and usually receive our state refund within a few weeks, but never received it. In March we called Fast Tax Services, who advised us they could not help us with our refund. We were unable to follow up until May and spent hours and days calling the Calif Tax Board for help. On 5/12/2025 we finally found a guy at the CA tax board who advised they had never received our 2024 filing. I called Fast Tax Services the next day and asked if our taxes had been filed with the state. If so, when they file as a responsible business, didn't they always confirm all tax returns filed? They said yes but sometimes things can "fall through the cracks." He also told me their records reflect we had not paid them! I told him we definitely paid when we signed our documents, I was very concerned and left a message for our tax preparer, to call me. He didn't, so on 5/14/2025 we checked online and then the status had changed from not being filed and reflected our 2024 Return Status as Received. We received our refund shortly afterwards. It appears Fast Tax Services hurriedly filed the state documents within the 2 days after my call. We never received a call back from our tax preparer. Would not recommend this service.

Best decision I've made in 10 years (apart from marrying my dream girl). I paid "AB" 3k, and they were able to reduce the 13k that I owed down to $2,509 (to be paid over 5 months). WHEW! Relief! Of course those payments didn't start until more than a year after contacting "AB". The best part was the way they removed the IRS from my doorstep. No more mail bombardment. When pieces of mail would randomly show up, I scanned them and sent them directly to "AB". They took care of everything. "AB" also found a number of years I had filed incorrectly, and fixed those too at no additional cost. I'll be honest, I was worried when I first contacted them and realized they deal with the taxes of fortune 500 companies. How would I fall in the ranks of importance? Now that everything is concluded I can honestly say I never felt like my case was any less important. In fact, they made me feel like I was the only case on their desks. I had moved *the following year* and despite having all the timeline info, they screwed it up. I am still dealing with this and trying to resolve the issue they created. As it emerged they offered very little help and follow up whatsoever. All they tried to do was incessantly email me with documents about finishing another part of my taxes that I was delayed in handling while dealing with their massive mistake. Ultimately just moved on from working on them. In the end, it mainly felt like a scam to collect fees. They spend far more energy billing you and hassling you as an excuse to close your account than they do properly filing your taxes, which is, you know, their job. Avoid them at all costs. I am actively trying to notify people how bad they are. One of the worst business entities I have ever dealt with. Please look at the other one star reviews noting their poor work and minimal follow up. I am not the only one calling them out. I am sure some people have a fine experience. I did with the first year I did through them. Then, it was awful.

During my working career, I provided financial leadership in the private sector for more than 35 years, including many years living and working overseas. I ended my career working for the US State Department, managing budgets and paying the bills in such far off places as Tbilisi, Georgia; Khartoum, Sudan; Geneva, Switzerland; Baghdad, Iraq and Caracas, Venezuela. During those years, and at times responsible for hundreds of millions of dollars in budgets and international payments, I never once attempted to prepare my own personal tax returns. That area of precise expertise was always left to the good folks at WWSA! They have taken care of the affairs of my family as well as my extended family...and have done so with great diligence and care. Jason and John have always been quick to respond to all my needs as extremely thorough so that I rarely leave without confusion or questions. They have warm and welcoming staff and that is super important when people like me typically feel very intimidated and reserved when previously attending meetings with accountants or any type of financial management institution. Taxes are a long dreaded thing, especially as a small business owner with too much to do. But after being referred to John Wood and his team, I feel like I finally have some support and not so intimidated by tax time. John Wood and Sylvia are so on top of it and knowledgeable but they never made me feel like a random question or clarification was not welcome. They are able to communicate clearly and at your level and do it in the utmost timely manner as well. I knew I had to hire John as my CPA when I saw an instructional video on Quickbooks 101 and how much time and pride he put in help people with such a useful business/tax tool. John and his team helped us get on Quickbooks and to use many other tools that other CPAs did not take the time to explain or discuss. I've been with WWSA now for 2 years and counting and I must say, I am very pleased and satisfied with the level of work and responsiveness from the whole team. The CPA I work with closely is John Wood. He is very knowledgeable and more importantly to me, patient. I've come into his office to see him on September 12th, knowing he has an September 15th deadline. He still takes the time to sit down with me although it is sure insanity all around his office due to the deadline. And then there is Jason, the bookkeeper I work closely with. Speaking of patience, he should be a doctor with all the "patients" that guy has. I usually sit down next to him and work on Quickbooks together in preparation for my tax returns. For several years, I've been using H&R Block to file my taxes, and from other stories I've heard about them, I've been pretty fortunate with my tax advisors there. However, a recent experience with them drove me to start looking elsewhere. In looking for another tax advisor, I decided it was time to find an actual accountant. So, you are impressed with all those five-star ratings? You'll be in for an awakening experience once you realize most of them are fake (paid for or reviewed by this outfit itself). My personal experience contradicts that of those glowing reviews. First, the account John (son of the owner) was reckless with our tax filing. He failed to not only saving our business money but ended up costing us more. Quality isn't something this accountant respects. And he can get very abusive, unprofessional, and threatening when we confronted him with his errors. I would run away as far as I can from this business. I was referred to John by a friend and this was the BEST tax preparing experience I have ever had. It was all done through email and one phone call which was perfect for us. We live over an hour away from the office and have 3 kids. It would have been difficult to do this any other way. Not only was it easy, it was FAST!
