I have always shopped at Wyatt's, since the day they opened back in 2015. My partner and I have always found their selection exceptional and we'd been quite happy with their service. Unfortunately, that all ended today. I was in the store this morning with my son and we were buying one thing, Pina Colada mix. Non-alcoholic of course. My son touched the bottle, so they said they couldn't sell it to us because he was underage. Okay, silly policy, but no big deal. I returned later in the day, and was informed that I was banned from ever purchasing anything in their store again, and that if I did not leave immediately, they would call the police and have me arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The woman "acting" as a manager was extremely rude, and even called me a "Karen" for asking questions because I said that made no sense given I made no attempt to purchase anything alcoholic at any point that day, or with my son in my presence. Of course, I ended up leaving because who needs the hassle, there are far too many other places to purchase alcohol or mixers in town, but I am very sad that my Wyatt's is not what it once was. Absolutely breain-dead web portal for wine: no vintage, the search is so atrocious so searching for a winery such as "Walla Walla Vintners" returns dozens of products from Kendall Jackson, Sterling, Bethel Heights, and many others from all over the place EXCEPT for any from the Washington winery. On two separate visits to Wyatt's, two different cashiers were confrontational in the way they checked ID and both poorly interpreted the guidance around carding those who look too young to buy. A few months ago, I was in line with my husband who was purchasing hard kombucha. I didn't have my ID with me, but we are both clearly over the age of 50 by appearance. The cashier refused to sell to him with me beside him, so I had to leave the store. I was surprised by the aggressive way she handled the situation. I understand that the law is subjective and up to the person/business selling as to who looks 'of age', but it seemed an extreme interpretation of the law that I was asked to leave. Since that interaction, I have not went inside Wyatt's. If my husband needs to stop by to pick something up, I wait in the car. Then today, my husband and I stopped by Wyatt's again. I waited in the car. When he was checking out, the cashier first told him his license was about to expire. He said he knew and mentioned that he had an appointment with the DMV to get it updated. Then the clerk who is half his age decided to gruffly assert that he won't be able to buy from Wyatt's after it expires. (He's had a license longer than she's been alive.) It's unclear why she needed to be confrontational with him since his license is not even expired yet. It would make sense if her warning was meant to be helpful, but instead her intentions seemed to be more 'respect my authority' instead of 'you're a weekly customer who has spent over a grand a year with us for several years.' Which brings me to another point.. How many visits to Wyatt's must you make before anyone at Wyatt's remembers you? Since no other liquor store we've visited in the last decade cards either of us, and since we don't get confrontational clerks elsewhere... we will start going elsewhere. We are certainly glad that Wyatt's is working to keep minors from buying, but there is no need to follow the law to absurdity. In both situations, we were handled as if we were teenagers trying to buy. Wyatt's management needs to better train their employees on how to more professionally handle older customers. Scolding old folks for standing in line with a spouse or not updating a license before it expires is not the intent of the law. read more

When Wyatt's opened about 5 years ago, it was a fine store--especially compared to other local liquor stores. Not anymore. There is now more competition (grocery stores, Sam's, Costco) and Wyatt's just hasn't been able to keep up. Their prices are not competitive and their personnel just aren't as helpful and knowledgable as they used to be--especially in the wine department where there are ignorant and surly personnel. They do have an extensive beer department, but for wine I now find myself having to head to Boulder. Sad. read more

Terrific liquor store in Longmont. The staff are all really friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable in all areas. Love to regularly visit on Saturdays for their wine tastings. They always have some great options and it is a fun way to explore new wines. Even more important to support your local liquor stores now that grocery stores are allowed to carry wine and beer. They have an amazing selection of everything. Beer, wine, gin, vodka, tequila, etc and they are reasonably priced. They also offer a very convenient delivery service. For these reasons they will always be my first stop. But there are two things I wish they would change. 1. Cart return: the place has no cart return, and I suppose you are supposed to bring it back into the store. But if you enter the store you have to use the exit, which requires you to walk through the store to the other side. So I bring the cart to a place where it is unlikely to run into a car, but ultimately outside. Does that make me a psychopathic animal? Probably. 2. Their coupons. The coupons are generous. But if you read the fine print, they don't apply to sale prices and shocker 90% of what you bought was "on sale" even though it's the same price it's been for the past 12 months. read more

They're helpful it's organized things are easy to find and I had a little accident dropping a couple of bottles of wine when my bag broke and they couldn't of been more genuinely concerned as I stood there embarrassed to death, they handled it so well and made me feel so much better. We worked with Wyatt's for our wedding. Kevin was so amazing throughout the whole process. As a sommelier himself, he helped us choose wines that were budget friendly and would pair great with our dinner! The delivery to the venue was smooth, and they were able to deliver ice as well which was a huge help. They also have a buy back process where they'll buy back everything you don't use as long as it's unopened or in a case. I am 52 and my son is 21 and the gal at the register wouldn't sell me alcohol because my sons ID faced the wrong direction. The alcohol wasn't for him anyhow... he simply carried 2 types of ginger beers NEVER touching the tequila to the register for me. I said we are breaking NO LAW so what's the big deal?!? She said it is the Owners policy. So I asked if my son leaves the store can I come back to the register and make the purchase alone. She said no that I would have to go through the store and pick the items from the aisles AGAIN on my own to prove a valid transaction to the cameras. Most ridiculous bunch of horse sh@t! Walked in after spending the evening at the movies nearby. I was looking for a brand that is not carried at our local stores. When I walked up to one of the registers to ask I was told I couldn't be served. I looked at him and asked him to repeat what he just said. He said he couldn't serve me. I asked why and was told that my eyes were bloodshot and that I was drunk. I told him that I just spent 3 hours watching a movie with my wife and that was absolutely not drunk. He again said he wouldn't serve me. I asked him if he had a breathalyzer and was told he didn't rank that high. Unbelievable!! I was assumed drunk during allergy season and humiliated in front of other customers. Terrible customer service. I obviously will not be back and will tell all of my friends to shy away from this business. read more

I've spent over one thousand dollars at the place and they wouldn't except my temporary ID - and the guy insisted on arguing with me that the DMV gives you your hard-ID back - the DMV did not give me my hard-ID "punched hole" back at all. I was at the DMV NOT HIM. I even have a rewards account at Wyatts and the young kid was uncouth. I'll spend my thousands elsewhere-you could've been nicer! We used Wyatt's for our wedding drinks and it was a fantastic experience. We were able to connect with Kevin and he had great recommendations that matched our menu and wedding theme. We were event able to come by and pick up the wedding wines to taste at a discounted price prior to the wedding. Kevin was very helpful in adjusting the order as needed leading up to our event. I guess I am lucky enough to have brought my ID here on every occasion, because I've only had great experiences here. They have rules, just follow them. The sales are good, selection is great. Lots of local, plus plenty of "exotic?" stock. I've found some stuff here that is hard to track down, even online. Staff have been helpful, very helpful. Ya know when they ask "Did you find everything okay?". They ain't messin' around. I was looking for a specific wine for a friend, I let them know what it was and they called for someone to run and grab it for me while I kept checking out! Boom. Great customer service. Love the name and location! Wyatts Wet Goods is right next to a fancy schmancy (newish) Whole Foods in Longmont, so you can pick up all of the good things in life (wine, whiskey, artisanal chocolate) in one quick trip. This place is sort of like an alcohol super store--if you're a Denverite, think Argonaut or Molly's. They've got everything you need and lots of things you don't, all in one convenient location. Came here for some beer and a couple of bottles of red to pair with snacks on Thanksgiving weekend. Beer selection is on point--lots of local varieties and a lot of it was on sale. Wine was pretty good as well, although neither the selection nor the set up was as good as Molly's in Denver (IMHO). They have their own selection of discounted wines (organic included), plus a huge variety of cheaper wines (if that's what you're into). Didn't browse the spirits much, but they seemed to have all of the varieties and mixers you could ever really want. The store itself was pretty quiet for a holiday weekend, and there was plenty of staff around to help if you needed it. It looked like they also had a little area in the back for tastings--nothing going on that day, but it's a nice perk of those larger liquor stores. Big ol' parking lot out front with plenty of parking and lots of cashiers to make waiting in line a breeze. I'm not in this neck of the woods all that often, but will be back next time I'm in the area and looking for boozy things. read more

It seems like every time I go to shop at Wyatt's there's some issue with items being marked incorrectly with the wrong prices. I hadn't been back for some time due to this, and sure enough, I get to the checkout and once again there's an issue with an item that was mispriced on their shelves. The worst instance was when the cashier asked me to return to the back of the store to do my own price check. Unrivaled selection of pretty much everything, but I'm done shopping here since it's just going to cause an annoyance every time at the check out counter. read more

Do not come here if you look anything under 30. Drove by and decided to come here instead of our typical liquor store. Workers were unfriendly and condescending from the beginning. When we got in line one lady began yelling and counting everyone in our group. One of my friends showed his vertical ID, although it did in fact indicate he was 21 they would not take it. At which point the cashier yells at another one of my friends at a different register to stop his transaction although it had already gone through. When I say yell I mean YELL. Although I would understand if that was their policy about vertical IDs another one of our friends who also had a vertical ID and went to a different register was able to checkout with no problem. The lady at the register then said that they announced over the intercom speaking to us that we all needed our IDs as soon as we walked into the store. This seemed extremely excessive and aggressive for no reason, because of course we would all need to show our IDs. All around awful experience. The lady who works at the register with colorful dyed hair is to be avoided at all costs! VERY rude. I would also like to add that when we walked up to checkout a worker said they "had eyes on us". how odd. read more

Updating Wyatts to 5 stars. Having travelled in Munich, I fell in love with euro style beers, after years and years of hoppy IPAs living in Boulder. Fortunately for me, euro styles are a big trend now in many quality Colorado breweries. So the best kolsch, helles lager, pilsner and alt-bier selections are available at Wyatts. They carry TRVE, one of the best breweries I've ever had. With plenty of 16 oz 4packs for around 10 bucks, competitive selection and sales, I literally have to budget my time when I'm beer shopping there. read more

They used to have good service. I had an extra gift bottle of Crown Royal from the holidays that I didn't want, called the store and they told me they'd take it back with a receipt. I came in with the receipt only to be told by their manager than they wouldn't take back my purchase because it was a week over their 30 day policy. Well, they have years worth of my purchase history on file. I would have easily bought 3x the $50 cost of the bottle but I suddenly have a 0 day policy for ever returning to Wyatt's. I used Wyatt's to provide the alcohol for my wedding and they were amazing to work with! Kevin was very knowledgeable about all of the selections and provided great guidance on selecting wines, which I know very little about. He was able to come up with appropriate quantities of wine/beer/liquor for the number of guests that we had for our event, which again, I wouldn't have a clue if I were left to figure it out on my own. They made a seamless and timely delivery to our venue, also providing ice and mixers for cocktails. The whole process couldn't have gone more smoothly. After the wedding, they bought back any unopened bottles/cases and that was also a very easy process. I just brought everything to the counter with my receipt and they were able to take it all back and refund me for whatever wasn't used within about 10 minutes. Really good place to get harder to find selections of wine. I was looking for a specific type of wine for cooking, and not only did I find it here but there had different sizes of it which was also nice instead of having to buy half a gallon I could get just a smaller bottle which worked out great. Also the staff knew exactly what I was looking for and exactly where it was. After getting what I was after I took the time to walk around and there is a nice large selection all around with everything neatly organized and easy to find by type and or country. There is also a good selection of accessories ranging from the cheap and simple to more elaborate for the bigger connoisseur. This will definitely be my stop now for all my needs for spirits. read more

My wife and I have been going to Wyatts since they opened and have spent a lot of our hard earned $$$$ here. Just yesterday 9/5/2018 we came in to make a purchase. My wife and I brought our purchase to the register and they asked for our ID's. (we are both in our 50's) Since I drove I only brought my ID, my wife did not bring hers. Since my wife did not have her ID we were not allowed to make our purchase even though I had my ID to prove I was 21 or older. This was the first time in years we were asked to show ID's. Been going here for about a year. 90% of staff is very rude and condescending. I enjoy whiskey and they do nothing for their usual customers in the sense of allocated bourbon. They do a whiskey auction once a year for allocated bourbons where they donate anything over MSRP to the charities of their choice. Notice how I said THEY DONATE. They run their auction so that you pay insane prices for the bourbon, and then they donate the money so that the business gets a tax write off but the customer does not. So the purchaser pays over secondary for a bourbon, but doesn't get to write it off cause the store writes it off. This is a big store and they obviously get a ton of allocated bourbon, but customers don't ever get to see it and the amount that they sell at auction is nowhere near what they get allocated to them for the amount of alcohol they sell. So that means they either are keeping the allocated bourbons for their staff or only selling to their friends. Very poorly run store. read more

As a wine enthusiast, I was recommended to try Wyatt's for their selection. The massive selections and descent prices held up to the recommendation until it came time to check out. I had over $200 of various wines in my cart and as I start to place some bottles on the counter, before saying hello or hi, the young cashier women asks for my ID. I'm mid-30s with a grey beard. At first I didn't think much of it as it's nice to be asked to show an ID sometimes but as I'm finishing placing bottles on the counter she asked me again but this time with a rude tone. I was still placing bottles on the counter and I said, sure no problem. But in my mind I'm thinking what kind of power trip is she on? She then informs me my ID will be expiring in 3 months and they will punch a hole in it and the store will not accept IDs with a hole in them. I was thinking WTF is she taking about. I told her good thing I have 3 months to figure it out. She finally checked me out and I can't help but think I'm purchasing a ton of wine from her and she's harassing me about my perfectly valid ID. Certainly a weird experience. Here's a hot tip for Wyatt's: treat customers with respect. Say hello, how are you? Before demanding an ID from someone clearly not underage. read more

It is nice that they deliver but they need to work on the website a bit. We spent an hour adding a bunch of stuff and were going to place the order the next day but the cart was empty. We added everything again and then it would not add a credit card. It made us login multiple times also. We were using Firefox as suggested. After calling the store we were told to try the app. It seems to work better but when we went back to Firefox again the cart was empty so we had to search for everything a third or fourth time. Very frustrating. The app displayed some weird behavior too but we finally got the order placed. Not sure we will try this again though read more

Wyatt's identification policy is over the top ridiculous! My husband and I (both 47 yrs old) were in to buy wine and beer for a family dinner. I carried the basket around the store, but hadn't brought my wallet so he checked out. They asked for both of our IDs but I hadn't brought mine. They refused the sale because I had touched the basket with the product in it (I was not buying)! We spoke with the manager and she had some excuse about voters not realizing that they had voted this stricter law into place (sorry, checked the law and this is not true. There is NO requirement for a liquor store patron to show ID at all unless there is any doubt that they are of age). This store is insanely rude. My daughter carried a jar of cherries they would not ring me out told me I had to leave and come back in walk to back of store to get new items off shelf. So I left and came back in the same door that they consider an exit according to them that is insufficient. They would not even hand me the cherries back when I came back in the store. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!! I understand following a law which they like to respond to the multiple bad reviews they have but they are actually not following the law they are interpreting the law into some twisted version that is super rude to customers. There is a way to follow a law without being a$$ho!ez to your customers! I wasn't even buying any alcohol. It doesn't matter if I set cherries down on a close shelf for myself. It's crazy how all other liquor stores are following the same laws and not having tons of negative reviews about your staff and policies! You have a problem in your store. I happen to run an event business and will never allow the many clients I work with to use your company! You have zero skills with customers! DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE! There are some great liquor stores around support them because they actually care about your business. Again don't respond with your bullshit about the law! Other stores are following it without this kind of ridiculous behavior from your staff and management!!!
