I cane into your store, and I have to say it was amazin, great selectio, but what stood out the most was the cashie, very friendly upbeat polite and full of energ, I walk beyond back simply because of her, the selection is great but the cashier was awesome, Ginger is amazing, she made me comfortable and made me smile when I was having a bad day. Spent close to $300 at this store. Bought a case of vodka that was brought to the checkout by their employee. Brought the box home and the bottom fell out resulting in ONE bottle of vodka crashing to the garage floor. I called and spoke with the manager, Jason, who said that it was the stores policy that if it didn't crash in their store, too bad so sad. He suggested I call and speak with the owner on Monday. I took photos and cleaned up the mess in hopes that the owner would resolve this on Monday. I called today, Monday, and spoke with Alan or Allen, however he spells it, and he actually got pleasure out of telling me that Jason is right. They won't stand behind their employee's packaging of the case of vodka. I told Alan/Allen that I would be posting a review on Yelp and Facebook. He said, "you do that!" Very unsatisfactory. My fiancé and I had nothing to drink prior to showing up In this drive thru, got accused of smelling of alcohol, the employee even made the effort to express the "strong smell of alcohol" that was non existent in the car and when he asked if we had been drinking alcohol we told him no that's obviously why we were there he commented "I'll take your word for it" then proceeded to sell us then alcohol. I just felt very disrespected and judged over false judgement. Wouldn't recommend coming here based of reviews and personal experience alone. read more

The most rude people I've ever met. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE BUSINESS. I tried to buy a bottle of champagne for a friend and the woman checking us out asked if we had been drinking and I told her I had a beer at a football game a few hours ago and she told me I "wreaked of alcohol" and "obviously had more than a beer." The other workers nearby chimed in and publicly shamed us and made it seem like we were hammered. Again, I had ONE beer two hours prior and by the way wasn't even going to be the one drinking this champagne as it was a gift. I am HUMILIATED. I love this liquor store. I just moved to Loveland from Longmont a few months ago and this is a mile away from home. I have social anxiety so I haven't been liking going in the stores luckily they have the drive-through which the employees are always super nice and helpful and efficient and I don't even have to get out of my car since I have a new puppy it works out great. Any of the other reviews saying there were rude staff were probably getting what they were putting out. I'm nice to the employees and they're twice as nice to me and that's how it should be. I have nothing at all negative to say about Liquor Max. Thanks for being awesome! I wish I could give 10 stars! read more

I drive from Fort Collins for the great wine selection & unbeatable prices. I usually encounter very friendly & helpful staff, but yesterday I came upon a less-than-stellar employee. Me: "Can you help me with a wine selection?" Employee: "I don't drink wine." (Turns & walks away) Better response would have been: "I'm not familiar with wines, but let me find someone who can help you." Rude employees When they opened a couple years ago I came in with my small blue stylish purse backpack. I was told that was not allowed so I left. I tried again and asked if they had a preferred customer discount. I was told that they didn't need those things. I have had some good help on the 10 to 15 times that I have been in their store but most of all- my impression is rudeness. The last straw for me was when I came to the drive-up window. the first man was rude and the person who took my money and gave me my product was rude. I have been maintained politeness throughout all of these encounters because I believe that you show the world what you hope to see. Let me be very clear from the start: the 5 stars are primarily for the beer selection. Not to imply they're poor in any regard, as they have a very respectable wine section as well (they carry Amon-Ra, for example, which I don't think I've seen anywhere else yet). But sheesh, if you like Belgian and other good beer, this is THE store to visit in the state of Colorado. Period. They don't have an enormous selection of everything under the sun a la Wilbur's Total Beverage (et al.), but that is in fact an advantage. They carry only the good sh*t, and it sells quickly. So no worries about dusty old oxidized bottles to be found here (as is too often the case with warehouse liquor stores). Choose from top artisanal breweries like Dupont, de la Senne, De Dolle Brouwers, Fantome, Hanssens, de Ranke, Drie Fonteinen, Nogne, Olfabrikken, Cantillon, Panil, and many more. The beer buyer clearly knows the best from the rest, because he doesn't waste time with a glut of fizzy yellow Indian, Russian, and Lithuanian lagers. It's a focused selection, and THAT is what makes a good beer store. Try to cover too many bases and you can't sell enough to keep the stock rotating. Some beer certainly does age well, but the fact is most do not, so this is a bigger issue than the average consumer realizes. Bigger is not better. It may seem dazzling to walk into Total Beverage and see a huge array of beer from around the world in front of you, but you have to be very careful to avoid old stock. What dazzles a beer connoisseur is finding the highly sought after brews (and in good condition). They do have a nice assortment of American micros too, if that's all you're after...there are certainly a few gems to find among those as well (Jolly Pumpkin's Fantome-like brews, for example). Not to mention they have very good prices, and discounts on top of that. This is a family-run store that I am truly happy to patronize, because they have a good business model...I can't remember how many times I've special-ordered stuff here, yet they're always happy to oblige (and get such orders in quickly). While it's definitely not a one-stop shop, it's whence I do roughly 80% of my cellar-stocking. They've got what I want, it's that simple. read more

Visiting Loveland for a wedding, staying in a small hotel on Eisenhower, in need of some beer while getting dressed, where does one go? I'm not at all familiar with Loveland so I just decided to hop in the car and drive until I found a liquor store. No more than three minutes in the car and I happen upon the huge wonder that is Liquor Max! I was a bit taken aback when I walked in - this place is huge! I didn't spend much time browsing but it sure looked like there was a great selection of booze. I headed right for the beer of which there is a great selection. The prices are about standard so no surprise there. Good beer and not over priced it the best way to go! I found the staff to be very polite. While I am not a regular it sure seems like this store has a lot of repeat business. Marc was ringing up my beer with a smile while talking with other customers - calling them by first names. Came in looking to compare prices for kegs and to see if they had some beers on my brother's "wishlist." One of their kegs was the cheapest we saw and the other was comparable, although we ended up going with a different liquor store due to a more convenient location. However, my review is based more on the customer service. An employee helped me look up the beers from my brother's wishlist. (My brother owns a brewery and I knew most of the beers on his list would most likely be hard to find). Although they only had one of the beers on the list, the employee offered some other suggestion and even some other locations where I might be able to find the beer. read more

I spent a couple of decades in the wholesale wine and spirits biz and have been in hundreds of liquors stores, so I know a good one when I see one. This Liquor Max is well stocked, has a huge selection of cold beers and has very competitive prices. Colorado has some crazy beverage laws. If you are headed to RMNP, and you enjoy wine, then you should really, really stop here. This place is most serious. On our way to Estes Park for a weekend at the Scottish festival and some hiking, we decided to stop here instead of buying beer and wine at a smaller resort town store. We giggled at the TWO drive through windows as we parked and I joked that we might see some folks in bathrobes, house shoes, and rollers buying handles of gin. I was incorrect. Thank you, Nick, for the wine and and Nick/Patrick for the beer "shelf talker" recommendations throughout the store. We picked up a lovely bottle of Graves that we enjoyed while in Colorado and then a bottle of Cahors that we have brought home with us. I also brought back a bottle of Rauchbier. My husband picked up just about every esoteric IPA he could get his hands on and was pleased. read more

I thought this place had quite the assortment of wines and spirits comparable to a Bevmo. I immediately ran over to the Argentinian selection and I was astounded to see several malbecs (my favorite Argentinian wine) that I had not yet tried. I ended up purchasing a special Gascon bottle that was $10 more than the regular Gascon you can find at your local Trader Joe's or Bevmo and I have to say, I really enjoyed it! Their prices are a bit higher than I am accustomed to over here in California but I know of several other local wine stores that are equivalent in price. So I wouldn't hold them accountable for their higher prices by giving them less of a rating. read more

Great selection and prices. They usually have the lowest prices in town. They have a great selection of wines (much better than most) and their staff is VERY knowledgeable. They have a great wine tasting on Saturdays that is free and often have a rep from the distributor there to go more in depth on information if you want to know more about the wines. It's not the closet liquor store to us but it's the one we go to the most. Staff is helpful and friendly and I like that they STILL ID me (even though I am WAY to old to be ID'd). One of the greatest beer selections I have ever seen! As other reviewers have posted, they carry really, really great stuff. The craft beer choices are out of this world, and I have found out if you don't see something you are searching for ust ask one of the staff and they are happy to hunt it down for you (or pull it out of the back cooler if it's there but not on display). I drive 30 minutes out of my way once a month just to stock up. read more

The selection, prices and most of the staff are great but every time I am in the store I am harassed by Tony, constantly. The same goes for several other women I know well. I won't shop here again, because every time I do I have to endure your employee following me around the store commenting on my body, and standing way too close to me while I am attempting to buy something. I have tried being nice, I have tried being rude, I have told him in no uncertain terms that he is making me uncomfortable, but it still continues. This has been a constant problem for years now and the management clearly isn't doing anything about it. One employee told me: "don't worry, he's harmless" - but it isn't harmless really. It makes me extremely uncomfortable. I don't need to be harassed and objectified when I am just trying to support a neighborhood business. It is absolutely creepy. Today my sister and I stopped in, and the second we walked in the door he started following us around lobbing pickup lines at us. We told him to stop, he made a joke about how he just likes to harass us. It's really not cool and it's the last straw. We ended up leaving because he just would NOT leave us alone! I don't really care if he thinks I'm attractive or not. It's completely unprofessional, and the unwanted attention from Tony is the one and only reason that I'll never return to Liquor Max again. read more

I am a regular customer of Liquor Max. It is the only place I buy wine and liquor in Loveland. I stopped by tonight and asked for two (2) liquor boxes to organize wine that I have purchased at Liquor Max. I was rudely told 'NO." I could only have 2 empty boxes if I filled them with liquor to buy. This as I looked at at least 75 empty boxes stacked up against the wall. This is a convenient store located on Eisenhower Boulevard with the friendliest liquor store staff I've ever seen. I have asked for help with hard liquor, wine, and beer and have been turned on to new favorites by them. Their recommendations have always been quite helpful. I can't comment on their prices as I really haven't shopped around but they seem quite reasonable to me. I wish the close by parking was just a little bit easier to get in and out of with a larger vehicle, but other than that this store is outstanding. They also have a drive-through, but I've never used it. I prefer to go in and make decisions and have the help of the staff, who are readily available. I'm trying a lot of new things and they don't make me feel inferior by my ignorance and I greatly appreciate that. read more
