This airport is built for efficiency. There is a…read morethree-tiered deck outside. The higher deck is for drop-offs, the second deck is for pick-ups, and the bottom deck is for something else, maybe Ubers or shuttles...not sure. There is plenty of space in the airport for when it gets crowded, and the whole place is very clean. Families walking by with worried fathers, little girls with monkey backpacks and one shoe untied, middle school kids trying to do their part to help out. The loudspeaker system is very clear, and all announcements are heard, whether they pertain to you or not. Apparently, they have a policy of no check-in until 2 hours before your departure. This gives you about 90 minutes to get through TSA, and find your gate, get something to eat, go to the restroom, etc. It punishes those who come early. I don't see the logic in this. Also, the attendant who told me was less than polite about it. Overall, the airport staff is friendly, and answered any questions I had. The TSA line went quickly, and I got to get a bite to eat with plenty of time to get to my flight.

The shuttle drivers I interacted with both times were friendly. The names of the stops just did not make sense. Do the names Champions, Bridges, Robotics, etc. identify lots A, B, C, D, and the numbered sections? Quite a few passengers are walking all over the lot trying to figure out where they get off the shuttle, and the location of their vehicles. Not good. TSA for early morning flights is still long, and not as smooth as it was before the remodel. The gate areas are still pretty much untouched. And of course, the tram is gone along with the airplane that hung over the TSA area in the old airport, along with T-Rex. I did spot Franco upon my return through PIT which was a highlight. Exiting the shuttle parking lot with pre-booked reservations there is no information stating that the QR code wasn't needed, and that the gate would just open to let you exit. I spoke with the attendant over the intercom who told me to just go. Is the system that advanced a ticket or code isn't needed to leave? Minor things like this were annoying, and don't make the experience better than the old system, IMO.

When Delta doesn't sell all those first class seats early on (typical), Delta will do a "reverse auction" by continually lowering the price of those first class seats, until all the seats are sold.Usually at rock bottom prices. But Delta doesn't want their best customers / Diamond Medallion to see how cheaply they are selling those seats to random customers, so they block us (Diamond Medallion / Loyal customers) from being able to upgrade to First for a fee. On the app, all those first class seats are just X'ed out and unavailable to us!! So next time all you diamond medallion customers are sitting in comfort plus, and wondering who paid those huge prices to get into first class, please know that those are mostly non-loyal customers that bought the seat very inexpensively!! And those inexpensive seats were never made available to you, Delta's best customers! Delta does not take care of the best customers. If I was more motivated, I would post about this a lot. I will start now. I've already started flying other airlines.

I have flown a LOT in my lifetime; I used to do a…read morelot of consulting and business travel, US and International, and enjoyed some exotic trips using frequent flier miles. But in recent years, travel became a drag, especially after 9/11 and TSA trying to beat the flying public into submission. So I haven't flown much in several years, but this was a special family get together, so I made the effort. Southwest was a pleasant surprise, it was well-run, the planes were nice, so was the flight crew. Flight crews on United in the past 12 years or so were surly and adversarial to the passengers, but the four crews I encountered were all pleasant, smiled a lot and seemed to care for the passengers. This was also my first time using PIttsburgh's airport since the recent renovation, which also was substantially improved. The flight was honestly pretty painless overall and now I'm thinking I should take some more trips. Thumbs up to both Southwest and Pittsburgh Airport.

My wife and I were on Flt 156 from ABQ to PIT on 03/28/2026. When we arrived at ABQ airport, we…read moresaw that flight was delayed. We went to customer services to see if this delay would impact the connecting flight from LAS to PIT. The SW Rep told us that the delay was from a flight crew matter (timing out and getting a new crew) for the flight from Phoenix to ABQ, which would be the plane to take us to LAS. Due to the amount of delay, he indicated that it was impossible to make the connection. He tried to re-route us for about 15 minutes. Because SW Air doesn't reciprocate with other airlines, there were limited options. The counter rep (who was very helpful) gave us three options: (1) He could get us to either Columbus OH or Cleveland OH and take a flight the next day and get a rental a car and drive from Cleveland or Columbus to PIT, or (2) Go to LAS, stay overnight (at our expense and fly out in the morning), or (3) Stay in Albuquerque another night (at our expense) and fly out on a 5:50 AM flight ABQ to LAS and then onto PIT. We chose option #3, since it seemed most reasonable and least costly. The delay changed our schedules (as we lost the day that we expected to be at home) and we did have to get an UBER for approximately $45 in the morning for our 5:50 AM Flight (#153, ABQ to LAS). Because it was a SW issue the Customer Service Rep told us that this qualified for a LUV voucher because it was a flight crew delay that caused us to miss this flight; he gave us a voucher form to scan and begin the process. He said it could take up to 30 days to process. I submitted a voucher; I received an email that our case was denied because it was less than a 3 hour delay. I called SW Customer Service; after my long explanation they indicated that they couldn't help me, and to resubmit a LUV voucher. I then saw that my miles from the flight never hit my account so I call Rapid Reward help; this Rep added my miles and told me to send a "Complaint" because this was a SW Air issue and it should qualify for a LUV voucher. She indicated that the response I received was an "automated system" response (a person didn't review it) and I needed to file this complaint in order to have a person (rather than an algorithm) review this situation. She was confident that it would qualify for a voucher. I followed her advice and filed a Compliant. It total, I've now spent several hours working my way through this system. The Result: The next day the Complaint Service Rep told me to file for a LUV Voucher, which I had previously done. I looked for the spot to do this on their website, and it was buried somewhere, but I didn't find it. I simply gave up. So despite two SW Air Reps telling me that I qualified for some type of compensation for this problem, and spending several hours trying to follow up, SW Air's change in policy (taking these voucher reviews away from the Customer Rep staff and allocating them to an 'automated system') prevailed. It's not the 'old SW Air' where customers were treated with industry leading customer service.

I've flown with Spirit a lot over the years and I've never really had a bad experience, but the seats no matter where you sit suck if your 6' tall or more unless you get a big seat up front which I've flown on a lot but now they are always sold out before you book a flight it seems. I purchased an emergency exit seat for this flight because they have great leg room but the seats are so narrow due to those stupid metal spacers in between the seats that are in a fixed position. The flight attendants were average at best in the friendliness department but I have flown to several destinations where they were some of the best. Th pilots were nice and friendly. I've flown to EWR out of PIT several times with Spirit and it's usually problem free but this particular flight was delayed for one hour which pissed me off due to it being a late flight already and I had plans in NJ. It was probably due to that drone bs. There was a little turbulence but nothing too bad. It's normal on this route it seems. I sat in an aisle seat and the middle seat was empty and a very nice lady was sitting by the window who I chatted with for a little bit. All-in-all the experience was decent . The prices make flying with Spirit worth any hassles tbh. Safe Travels :)

There is a menu which you can order food from, but there is a very nice complementary spread of both food and drink. There is a soda machine, water with lemon slices, and various teas and coffee.
