I love spontaneous adventures! While driving back to a friend's place, we passed by Wynetka Ponds Park and I gasped. So many dogs!! I had my husky with me, so we pulled into the parking lot and walked up the path to the park to wear him out. Everyone here, humans and dogs, were generally friendly in my experience. More on that later. Because of the winter season, there was no functioning water fountain, and everyone had to bring their own water. This park taught me to carry some in the trunk of my car anyways. Thankful for someone that had a jug of water shared by multiple dogs. Can't remember if there's a waste bag dispenser, since I usually have my own at all times. There was only one dog that was aggressive and kept harassing mine. He was being overly protective of another dog, and the owner thought it was entertaining. I made the decision to leave before my dog retaliated. Like any dog park experience, listen to your gut, and watch for your dog's cues. Overall it was a nice big space to run around. read more

Our pup loves a good dog park so she can sprint and leap and partake in a lively game of fetch.  We discovered Wynetka Ponds dog park last summer when we first adopted her and were looking for an off leash option with grass as opposed to the gravel that so many Denver dog parks utilize.  Wynetka is often crowded in the warmer months but there is plenty of space for your pooch to play with the pack or to play solo without much disruption.  The park is split into two areas, 1 closed off to "recover", while pups of all shapes, sizes, and ages play to their delight on the open side.  Both sides offer a gazebo type structure with tables so dog guardians can rest and let their pup play, or for a place to put your supplies while you go out and play as well.  During the warmer months there are dog fountains available for water and there are bowls and water jugs available as well.  Tip: the perimeter wire fence does have rather large gaps, so if your pup knocks a ball just right, it will go through to the other closed side of the park or on the path near the street (Bowles).  If you go during a wet time, be prepared to have a muddy pup as there is a lot of dirt.  If you're looking for a wide space with other friendly dog owners, be sure to check out Wynetka Ponds. read more

Great dog park for the Littleton area. It's conveniently located next to Locavore (brewery) that is dog friendly. The space is huge so there is a ton of room for your dogs to run and play with other dogs. This park has been super muddy about 60% of the time we've come here which is not ideal. Parking is very limited. read more

This place is so very convenient for the area. It's a great place for the pups to just run freely! My pup is only 8months old and I'm fully comfortable letting her run the entire area without needing to be right behind her. I think they just fixed the water fountain which is great because I do tend to forget her water. I highly recommend this dog park if you need your pup to run loose and wild for a while. read more

I was at Wynetka Ponds (Bowles and Lowell) dog park this morning and upon returning to my locked car, I found my window had been smashed out and of course, my purse stolen. I have dark windows, black purse on the black floor not easily visible. $$, credit cards, driver's license, etc. all needed to be cancelled and will need to be replaced. I called the Littleton police dept and they were rude and said to make an on-line report and if it wasn't over $2,000, they wouldn't be doing any investigation. The thieves now had access to thousands of dollars of credit, not to mention the trauma and inconvenience of it all! What do we pay our police officers for? To kill black people not wearing seat belts, a rear light out, someone smoking pot. This was a crime and shouldn't be taken so lightly! read more

Hands down my favorite dog park in Denver metro. Wynetka offers a big space for pups to play. There is no big dog/little dog distinction here but I have found that the people are friendly and there is plenty of space to spread out. They have a covered area with benches, plenty of bags and trash cans, a water fountain on each side, etc. You can't beat this place. To maintain happy pups and pup-parents alike (and encourage grass regrowth) they have two play areas that they alternate. This means better grass, less mud, and longevity of the park. Very nice park for pups. When we were visiting family in Colorado, we took all the pups here and even though the cold was biting, the dogs had a blast. We only encountered one other "puppy party" that morning, but those dogs all had run of the park. If we were locals, I would definitely take our pup here again. read more

I took my dog to this park for the first time last week. It a nice park that is fairly spacious with a gazebo, a few benches, trees and doggy water fountain. The grounds were a bit muddy but I'm not all the way sure if it was from precipitation or a sprinkler system. My dog had a great time running around and enjoying herself so it's a cool place in my book. It is also free so this is a bonus. We will be returning here and more than likely become normal visitors. read more

I tend to be an overprotective dog-mom at dog parks, mostly because I know that if the pup crowd is small Fur Face is bound to pick a fight with someone. It's not that I'm protective of her; I just don't want her to hurt someone else's dog! Fortunately, when we went to Wynetka Ponds, she made it quite a while before getting into trouble. I conveniently forgot to bring EVERYTHING to the dog park the first day, and despite there being bags for dog poo, the containers were all empty. Luckily as soon as she pooped, I noticed an unused bag in the grass. Seeing as I also forgot to bring water (where was my mind that day??), it was quite convenient to have a 3-tier water fountain - one near ground level for the itty bitty dogs, one for medium size dogs, and one for the Great Danes to bend down to (or for medium dogs to stand up and stick their head in, as mine does!). The tallest fountain might also be for humans, but use at your own risk - I've only been there once so far, and probably saw at least 3 dogs lick the fountain head. Just sayin'! As a previous poster mentioned, it's nice that there are two sides to the dog park so that when one side is overly used, it can take a break while everyone plays on the other side. The whole area seemed to be pretty well maintained, although a few big trees would be nice for shade. It's also great that like most dog parks, it has a double entrance gate to make it that much harder for anyone to sneak out on accident. I also giggle at the fact that there is a fire hydrant in each side of the park. What could make a dog happier? read more

This is one of the best dog parks around. I love to go here with my dog on a nice day. He only likes to only to play with the tennis ball. He is kinda anti social when it comes to the other dogs but has fun anyway. I end up being more social with the other dogs then my dog himself. I love seeing all the cute dogs and the big dogs. All the dogs there have been friendly and nice. There are hardly ever any scuffles. Their water fountains are set up for dogs and humans but are shut off in the winter of course. There is enough room to throw the tennis ball with a thrower and not have it go outside the fence. (which has happened to me, surprisingly more than once.) oops. Boys should take note that on a nice day this place is full with single girls and their dogs, You would have thought it was a girls only dog park. I only noticed cause I was like "Do boys not own dogs anymore?" "Did they all switch over to goldfish?" This is a great dog park and will go back once the weather warms up again. read more

I've been to better dog parks this one is small there was no water for my pup, to drink good thing I brought my own. No one cleans up after their dogs and there was and will be an aggressive dog owner who continues to go to this park; his dog attacked mine and he refused to leave the park so we had to go because his dog kept seeking out mine. There's a lot of owners here who don't respect other people or their dogs. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for a friendly nice place to bring your pup. Only good thing I can say is there are plenty of benches to sit on, trash cans and doggie poop bags. read more

We won't be going back. It's a decent park and good size, we've just had too many encounters with dogs cornering, dominating, or just being aggressive and owners not paying attention. Not sure if it's the neighborhood or what, but it's one thing to not be a helicopter owner, it's another to not even respond when someone's asking you to call your dog away. read more

This is one of those good calls on a warm Saturday. There was not a frown in the house. It felt like there was 100 dogs there but in realty there must have been 20 dogs there. I love this park it is very friendly. There are two sections for them to play in, so that when one gets the grass too worn down it can get a chance to regrow. I enjoy coming to this dog park. Some of the people shouldn't bring their dog in public where other people's puppies and children are at risk.. But other than that it's great! Water is supplied. This was my very first dog park experience and I now think I am spoiled! This park has 2 sides, one that they close off to let regrowth take place. (Not sure how much grass they do get, since when I went everything was covered in snow. There were no doggie messes left behind, which is soo nice. My only hangup with this place was figuring out where to park. The parking lot is on Lowell, not Bowles, and you have a little bit of a walk before you get to the dog park. My dog loves this park. There are always other dogs there and the owners are relaxed. I've never seen any situation get out if hand. There are two big gated areas; one is always being renovated while the other is open for play. Big dogs and little dogs play together and owners moderate. My 78lb golden loves little dogs and it's great he gets to play with them. The water is turned off when it gets cold to prevent pipe damage. Be sure to bring your own water and bowl. Overall we like this park, our dog has had lot's of good romps there. MOST people are respectful and I always take my dog out if she starts to get obnoxious and watch her closely. HOWEVER, I have a huge problem with people bringing their little kids here (or any dog park really). There are only a few places to take dogs to burn off energy and this is THEIR space to run around and be dogs. Kids can literally go anywhere. A toddler on the loose or a kid on your hip is like a neon sign for some dogs. Not all dogs are around small children on a regular basis. There is no official rule, but if your kid gets knocked over (accident or not) that's on YOU! I shouldn't have to leave because I'm scared your kids going to get hurt. Again DOG park. read more

The pupster and I both give this park a thumbs up! It's a decent size, the other owners and dogs are very friendly! We've only had one run in with an aggressive dog in the many months that we have been going-all the owners do a good job of making sure the dogs are playing well together. They only open one side of the park at a time, letting the other side rest, which is really helpful in keeping the park in good shape. There are always lots of dogs of all sizes, ages, breeds and temperaments which makes for great socialization for your dog! My dog loves to run all over the park with a group of dogs and someone always has a ball or frisbee for the dogs to chase. My dog and I make over here almost every day because he loves it so much! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it is made out of dirt and in these snowy months it can be kind of a mess in there when it melting meaning that we have to wait several days or weeks to make it back out there. I've been bringing my 8-pound chiweenie to this park for about 4 months now. It's a nice, grassy, off leash park for my pup, although there isn't a section for smaller dogs- it's all open. This would be fine except for some dog owners that stop watching their dogs. My dog has been chased and nipped at by several big dogs, whose owners did nothing other than yell at them from a distance. A big dog tried to pee on my pup, and the owners did nothing- not even an apology. My dog can handle herself, but I won't be bringing her back to a place where she has to be constantly on guard due to untrained dogs and irresponsible humans. read more

This surely is the worst dog park I have been to thus far. It is near impossible to find the parking lot once you locate the park itself. When you arrive at the lot, you need to walk a long distance on a ridiculously obscure dirt path to get to the actual park. To make matters worse, the pet cleanup station was out of bags. Unlike most parks I've been to, this one failed to provide a separate small dog enclosure. On top of that, there was no outdoor lighting for the late evening. I'm not sure if Coloradans just have lower standards for dog parks, or if the people reviewing this location just haven't been to many other places. read more

I love the park it's self. Here is the problem, too many aggressive dogs not being pull out of the park when need be. Last week someone brought a dog in with a muzzle. Dominance thing is another issue. A lot of owners don't correct the humping behavior and just say "oh they are a dominant dog". Also the big issue is people bring in food and treats all the time. Food+dogs=big trouble. Leave the food at home! read more

This park is great and big! I adopted a dog and was scared how she would act, but she did just great! All people are super nice and chit chat, pet your dog, and will even play with your dog if you let them. The dogs are all sizes and breads and all VERY well mannered. They have tennis balls, poop bags, water fountains, trash cans, tables, benches and a few trees. There are trails too. The only downfall was tonight when 4 cars got broken into. In the park's defense, those 4 women had their purses in site, and it's not the best area. I feel safe and will go back. read more

A nice getaway close to town. Years ago it was the Chambers farm but now it's a nice place to walk around. Plus you can your dog with you. They even those dig poop bags for your convenience. They also have water fountains for the dogs and us humans as well. read more

Great place to take your pup to play and for a walk-scenic and pretty. One suggestion-they need to have one side for smaller dogs and one side for bigger dogs-as of now, everyone is mixed together. I brought my awesome canine companion here on a beautiful Sunday morning and it was the BEST time ever! He had so much fun running around on the spacious enclosed grounds and I had just as much fun talking with some of the other dog owners and watching my furry friend play with new friends. This is my first time at a dog park so I can't compare it to others, but I liked the spaciousness, ease of parking, and the few benches situated on the park for people to dog-watch. LOVE this dog park! Nice, big, and open. Some dirt/mud, but bearable. I also like that there's seating and shade in the gazebo/picnic area. Our girls (pups) love to run around at this dog park! It's a half-hour drive for us, but worth it for the corgi meetups. read more

This is my new favorite dog park in Denver. I went on a Sunday after a wet snowstorm and there were only 2 dogs in the park, but that didn't stop my dog from having a blast running and playing chase with the other dogs. I can't wait to bring her back when it is dry to see what the grass is like. I love that the yards are so well maintained- they close one side down to restore it when it gets to be too well loved, and then open up the other side for play. Both sides are very generous. The park is fairly easy to find too. I'll definitely be making this park a weekend ritual with my dog. read more

Very small & crowded. The one time I threw the ball for my dogs it bounced through the fence. Thankfully that was on the park side & not the Bowles side & a kind passerby tossed it back in. Lots of poop piles. read more
