I am honestly horrified by the experience I had here today. I came in because I had a broken stem on my glasses which I'd purchased here that needed fixing. I somehow walked out with $300 new frames. The owner talked so much, I didn't even notice what was going on. He spent the whole time bragging about how he's a multimillionaire and has mob connections and owns fancy cars. It was exhausting! I noticed another reviewer mentioned the nice lady that works there and how she leaves the room when he starts his con. That's exactly what happened to us. In addition, he kept insulting my elderly mother for her politics, which was completely out of pocket. I may have the same political views as this guy but that doesn't make him less of a creep. That kind of conversation has no place in a business transaction. Now that I see how many other people got the wool pulled over their eyes by this guy, I can see we got taken. As soon as we left the store, my mother said to me, "I think he pulled a fast one on us." I agree. I will NEVER go back there. And to the intelligent, kind lady that works there, he's dragging you down. You deserve better. read more

The owner is a slick talking con! You will not get a receipt, no printed receipt. My frame $309... Insurance $245. Chris the owner says, insurance pays only $100 towards lens and I forfeit the rest. If I was not in love with the frame I'd walk away! I offered to just buy the lens but he said I wouldn't get the benefit. I WILL NEVER GO BACK! The woman who works with him seems sweet. She has to know what he IS as a BUSINESS OWNER because she leaves when he is spinning lies. If you must deal with this company; ignore the bs conversations he uses to over talk and confuse. The worst experience I've had ever. Exam was abrupt and felt like examiner was challenged. Was more expensive than I was told when appt was made. Frames were very pricey and limited selection. The prescription was wrong. Couldn't see with new glasses. Tried to convince me that I'd "get used to glasses". They wanted payment for new glasses. Now I had lousy exam and prescription that was wrong. Already paid for exam(more than quoted). Thought man called Barry wasn't legit. Gave me a price for frames. I would give a negative rating if I could. Bruce, the owner is a fraud. He lies about insurance and many other things to cover his ass. Very dishonest. Tells you that glasses fit properly when they don't. Caused me so much aggravation and stress over a pair of eyeglasses that took 3 months to get. I am giving no stars. I went in with my son based on a recommendation from my insurance company. The doctor showed us some glasses and then after we chose one he told he was an expert with the insurance. He told me my insurance would reimburse me 100% and all he needed was for me to pay for the glasses up front. So I did.$338. The glasses were ready within the week. But then the trouble started. The insurance company denied my claim. The doctor had submitted it as out of network which it wasn't. He told the insurance company I demanded the glasses in one day (I didn't) and that he had to make them at another location which was out of network. None of this was true. I have filed several complaints with the insurance company about his practices. They have told me I actually did not need to pay up front at all. I feel completely scammed. I called the doctor and he said he resubmitted but after calling the insurance to follow up, this was not true. Shady business practices happening here. Stay away . read more

Wynnewood Eye Care proved to be the only eyelasses retailer in the Philadelphia metropolitan area that carried Cocoon sunglasses and was provided by Cocoon with a full fitting kit (i.e., multiple different sizes and shapes. I went to the Wynnewood Eye Care store in the Wynnewood shopping center (near Bed Bath & Beyond) and got what I needed. Proprietor and assistant were friendly. I must say this is one of the best places Ive ever visited !!! The staff was AWESOME !!! I was worried because of the 1 bad review I was able to find but I'm glad I went. The doctor was funny and made me feel at ease the receptionist was nice and the guy who helped me out (wish I could remember his name ) was VERY HELPFUL and actually had a real and genuine conversation with me !!! I have been a very satisfied customer of Bruce Goldman for the past twenty five years. I have used his outstanding optometrists, who take their time to figure out my complex prescription every year or year and a half. I have trifocal lenses with a lot of prism and other issues. He sends mine out to a special lab, who have to make them perfect, or they get sent back. I love my titanium round frames which center my eyes, and can be bent back without weakening or having them break. Bruce adjusts them about once a week to keep them spot on. Since Bruce owns several frame companies, he sells his merchandise at a very fair price, which is great for me since I don't have a vision plan. I highly recommend Wynnewood Eyecare. read more

My mother has gone to see Bruce at Wynnewood Eye Care this past month and her experience has been nothing but a nightmare. Bruce never mentioned that that he was an out of network provider for us, gave transition lenses for my mother's frames when she did not adequately describe what they were and will refuse to refund her. He is a crook. I listened in on her last visit to complain and he went on and on about how nice of a guy he was and how he's trying to look out her the customer. Far from it! He talks in circles to the point that he does not make sense, and is rude. He talked over my mother as she tried to make her case that she wanted her lenses changed, and insists that ONLY HE IS RIGHT. Never visit this jerk off. I'm all in support for independent businesses, and I've never been so upset just as a bystander to what my mom is going through. You will seriously find more professionalism, honesty and satisfaction with an eye care provider elsewhere. We will be in touch with the better business bureau. read more

I am 56 years old, and have been wearing glasses for 48 years. I choose Wynnewood because they are half a mile from my house, and I thought they looked like a bit of an upscale eye shop. I had stopped in and was very happy with their frame selection before I went in for my eye exam. On Jan. 2d. 2013 I went in for my eye appointment, and to pick out frames. I found the Eye Doctor to be nice, as was the front office staff. There was a gentleman there who seemed to be having quite a bit of difficulty getting his and his wife's eyeglasses done to his satisfaction and in a timely manner, but I thought it was just, perhaps, a difficult customer, and a one-of-a-kind type of deal. I was told my glasses would be ready in two weeks. This was kind of a long time (certainly longer than I have waited with the other five opticians I have used in the area), but I could deal with that too. Timeliness was important, as I was scheduled for a hip replacement on Jan. 22d, but that gave them four days cushion on an already long estimate (I thought). By the way, these were high end titanium frames, and high index lenses - total for the exam and glasses $804 -probably about $100 was picked up by my insurance. The glasses of course were NOT ready in time (they had until the morning of the 22d). Well, what could I do. After surgery I hobbled (literally) into the store on the 29th. The optician brought out the glasses, they looked nice. He fitted them, but strangely, never cleaned them for me as we neared the end of the fitting process. We got them fitted, and as I was cleaning them, there was a smudge that I couldn't get off. Well, of course, it wasn't a smudge, but a pretty significant scratch. After five to ten minutes of effort, while talking to others customers on the phone, the optician let me know they were going to have to redo them. WOW - nobody at the place the glasses were made, nor in the shop check out the frames and lenses BEFORE they called me? Unbelievable, obviously two failed steps of quality control. This has NEVER happened to me. When I asked the optician what sort of adjustment they would make he informed m that the Owner wasn't there and only the Owner could do that. By the way, I am a professor of business, and I know that one thing good bosses do is empower their employees to address major issues like this on the spot. WOW, this Owner doesn't know anything about customer service, nor does he appear to trust his employees. Once again I was told it would take two weeks to get the new glasses. Of course, two weeks passed, and I never heard from them. Three days later they finally called and told me they glasses were ready on Thursday, Feb 14th.I asked what sort of adjustment they would be making because of the difficulties, and was told the Owner was out of town for the week, and only he could do that. I told them I would wait for the owner to check in, and pick them up the week of the 18th. On the 19th I went to pick up my glasses, the owner was there. I pointed out there had been a problem, and he laid it off on the "lab that your insurance company makes us use." Hmmm, I'm not buying it. Then, he launches into a bit of a diatribe about those call centers in India, and how he hates dealing with them. (As much as I hate dealing with him, I wonder?) Well, the glasses are on, I press on the "adjustment." Basically, he says the lab only gave him $40, and he'll give that to me. In my view he accepts no responsibility for checking the frames when they come in? So, what is his margin on the frames and the lenses? Frankly, I was expecting $200-400 (half the price). That may be too high, but his offer was way too low in my estimation. He had a chance to earn a customer for life, and his efforts to correct several failures were, in my estimation, insufficient. What I have tried to do is present the facts. In my estimation this company is not worth doing business with. You should form your own opinion. read more

Stay away!! This guy is a complete shyster. I ended up paying over $600 out of pocket for my eye exam, lenses and frames because he submitted my claim as an out of network provider. When I questioned my insurance company they told me that instead of using their lab (which is covered under my insurance) he used a private lab (probably somone he's got a relationship with) therefore my insurance was void. He basically used a loophole to avoid having to pay a reinbursement which was confirmed by my insurance company. He actually told my insurance company that he didn't want to use their lab because he was affraid they would break the lenses!! Outragious! None-the-less I have apparently no recourse. I would NEVER go back to this place and will tell everyone I know the same. He's very slick. Comes across as a nice guy but trust me he's no good. My driving glasses broke late on a Friday and in desperation I decided to try Wynnewood Eye Care in the Wynnewood Shopping Center nearby. I wanted to replace my frames but not my lens and my frames needed to be light, not lean on the bridge of my nose, and not touch my face.Tall order for a short amount of time and what seemed to be a small shop.The owner told me that he manufactures most of his glasses and has designed for the entertainment industry. He brought out a few trays, took measurements and through wizardly, presented me with a perfectly fitting pair of glasses, all without the usual angst I suffer when buying new glasses! read more

My family and I went here today for routine vision check ups. I was a leary of going here because of the reviews, but it was one of the few places that accepted my awful insurance so I gave them a try and I am glad I did. The people here are very nice. There was no long wait, even though we were almost 2 hours early. The doctor was very thorough with all 3 of our eye exams and gave me plenty of samples for my severely dry eyes. The gentleman that orders lenses was very upfront about the prices of the frames and lenses and explained what the insurance would pay for, no issues when I said I would purchase the glasses from some where else. All in all we will definitely go back as long as we have this terrible insurance and the accept it. read more

The owner tries to sabotage your scripts so you cant fill them anywhere else. I called twice for them to fax over my scripts ....Wynnwood sent over two unsigned prescriptions, so I couldn't get contacts while I was out of town. I was forced to pay out of pocket for another eye exam due to his purposeful negligence. By the way the only reason I went to place was because he was in network. I definitely will call my insurance company to let them know of his unethical work practices, not to mention that he is overpriced and his Dr's are rude and unprofessional..... all this guy cares about is the money!!!! if you care about your money and time... don't even bother. I would NOT recommend anyone who needs prescription eyeglasses or glasses for fashion statement go to B&C Eyeglass Factory, Inc., otherwise known as Wynnewood Eyecare located at 50 East Wynnewood Rd., Wynnewood, PA 19096, Tele# 610.896.4540. This is NOT a reputable business and the staff are discourteous and inept and they do not keep good records. My mother was paying on a pair of Tom Ford frames and made an initial downpayment and, subsequent, payments toward the balance via phone. Yet, the staff could rarely locate my mother's data and oftentimes claimed they did not know how to process payment. I find this hard to fathom and if this is case the owner, Bruce Feinberg, OD, needs to provide in-service for his employees'. My mother is frustrated with said service from Wynnewood Eyecare and requested a refund of her deposit and was told there's a sign in store that states No Refunds. Well, first off, most people come into the store for prescription eyeglasses, so guess what? They have trouble with their vision to begin with and the staff should, perhaps, make it a point to highlight the sign. Second, my mother has had cataract surgery for one eye and needs the cataract removed from her other eye. Another reason why staff SHOULD NOT ASSUME a client has seen said sign.
