Nice store but smaller. Interesting projects on the wall. Really nice wallhangings on display. Pleasant shopkeeper.

I had the misfortune of spending over $60 purchasing Jude Spero's Little Louise patterns from her…read moreEtsy store. I cannot nor will not ever be able to make a quilt with a single one of them, due to the inadequate directions and lack of proper instructions, and I am an accomplished quilter with over 4 decades of experience under my belt. With the majority of Little Louise's patterns they are only 5 pages long TOTAL, including front and back covers - leaving only 3 pages for cutting, piecing, and assembly instructions (as opposed to the 10~12 page FREE patterns from the plethora of FREE resources on the Internet such as the Moda Bakeshop website, Craftsy, et al). With her patterns there is nothing more that a single page with a spreadsheet type graph of cutting instructions, followed by a computer generated graphic of the block design, yet she describes her patterns as richly illustrated with BOTH photos and graphics. I'm afraid NOT! She rates her patterns appropriate for 'confident beginners' but that's nonsense! They include partial seams, odd, unconventional, peculiar, oftentimes fabric-wasting techniques that would confound even seasoned quilters. She boasts of her 5 star ratings on Etsy, yet if you read the comments from her buyers, 90+% of them clearly state in their reviews that they haven't even USED her patterns (and possibly won't because they CAN'T) as Spero's patterns are so grossly inadequate, with a paucity of instructions and few, if any, real PHOTOS of one working through the steps as a real person actually attempts to MAKE a quilt from her patterns! In her grossly over-reactionary response to my 3 star Etsy rating, she posted a defamatory reply (readable by the ENTIRE Etsy community) demeaning, criticizing, belittling and humiliating me for my inability to follow directions. And as if that's not enough, she then has been following up with accusatory, nasty personal e-mails questioning my intelligence and abilities! I refuse to respond, which is why I have turned to Yelp to get the word out. So, buyer beware!!! Save your money, spare the hassle, avoid her wrath, and shop elsewhere. She is simply not worthy of your business and has a nasty, bitter, hateful and mean spirited attitude, when she should be thankful that you've given her your hard earned cash ...

I recently purchased a Little Louise to make my 2nd ever quilt with. Her efficiency in sending the…read morepattern out was good. However, there was a big problem. The square in the middle of the larger blocks you build was not the correct measurement. It called for 4 1/2 in squares in the middle, and then you added 16 strips around the squares. The first 5 panels I made were ill fitting and had to be drastically trimmed. I finally figured out that everything fit perfectly if the inner squares were reduced to 4 1/4 inch squares. It seems that this pattern had not been made/tested by the seller, much to my frustration.
