Last month, the plumbing company performing major work on our house following a broken pipe over…read morethe kitchen hired Madison Taylor ("Mad Taylor") to do a mold inspection. Their work was a disaster in every respect. The plumbing company could not go forward until it received the mold report. Mad Taylor postponed delivery of the report not once but twice. It reached us five days late. Much of the report described how it would address any problems, not whether there were problems. The report, minus attachments, came in at a whopping 2 1/2 pages. It began by misspelling the name of its client, MARIN CONSTRUCTION, which appeared as "MARINA CONSTRUCTION." If this outfit couldn't bother to spell the name of its client correctly, how careful is it likely to be in its real work? The typing was lousy and the language was often incomprehensible pseudo science. The report was so amateurish that it was almost silly. It looked even worse in comparison to the report by the second company we brought in to replace Mad Taylor. Mad Taylor's report presented no standards for evaluating any substances it detected, much less did it compare its readings with any scientific standards. In fact, in its report, it opined that evaluating contaminants and deciding how to proceed was more a matter of "common sense." Finally, I would describe the staff person who took the readings as surly. FYI, as an attorney for more than thirty years at the Justice Department, I read more than my share of scientific and technical reports. This would be as bad as the worst I came across. No need to elaborate further. Mad Taylor even ignored my requests for information, even as to the experience and background of the writer of its report. Use "common sense" in selecting a contractor in this field. There are many operators out there playing on the fears of homeowners.

Reasonably priced and we were very satisfied with their services including customer service. We searched a long time to find a company to find and fix an indoor air quality concern in our home.

It seems like the inspector is more for the seller rather then the buyer who is hiring them for contingencies. I have done construction management and commissioning before so I dont know how in my case where a window latch on an exterior window thats UPSTAIRS is considered a low priority where there is a fall risk, wind/gust that goes through since it cannot fully latch and would need a potential replacement - which in hand did not help our case with settling on the deal to get this resolved. Literally handed us a paper and not even a follow up call to discuss the contingencies on the home. All I got told was that they only look visually and even when I looked you could see it is a bigger issue than what it was marked as. Waste of $475 that I could've done myself, oh and when I email the owner Hulbert, same half response of excusing the poor inspection that was done. I do not recommend this inspector company whatsoever. I forgot to mention - his wife when I told her the situation told me "This happens when you get a home" like what kind of response is that, don't know but this family business is beyond disappointing and a let down to put it nicely. This establishment lacks the actual foundation of what and who they're doing this for. Also the inspection was 30 minutes for a 3 bedroom and 3 bathroom house.... I've seen people thoroughly inspect homes smaller and take longer.
