Moved from the other side of town a few years ago and still trying to establish relationships with businesses on this side. I called about getting my car inspected - yes, they do that. Yes, they were open then. A couple miles later I'm pulling into a parking space in a small industrial park on Piper Lane at about the point you may think you've gone too far. You haven't. I couldn't have gone smoother. Heck the only hiccough was that I had to wait for him to finish with the person in front of me. Very comfortable waiting area. I didn't feel like I was sitting in a random chair that was in between the water fountain and the drink machine. They do a lot more than inspections here. Clearly this place is run by motor-heads who know and love cars. I am not a motor-head - but didn't feel out of place or in the way. 5 enthusiastic stars. Blown away by the service here - I never thought I would write a glowing review for an auto shop but the praise is highly deserved. My car broke down in Manassas and it was towed to this location. I chatted with Kevin who was working behind the counter (who turned out to be the owner) after it had been dropped off and told him what had happened. He was concerned (car overheating, smoking, wouldn't start) and told me he'd keep me posted after he'd have a chance to look at it. He kept my expectations in check and gave me his honest thoughts on what he thought was going on. Once he'd diagnosed the issues he walked me through every piece of what he needed to do and why. I can't exactly explain why, but the way Kevin went through everything with me honestly and transparently gave me confidence that I was getting quality work done. I didn't feel like I was being cheated or sold something I didn't need. One of the reviews below said they felt like this shop went above and beyond with their service and I echo that sentiment. Kevin replaced my tail light this morning and I couldn't have been happier with my overall experience. I called for an estimate a couple of days ago and was in and out for repair as soon as the part came in. Kevin was very personable and his rates are far fairer than most of the larger dealerships. My husband had also called to schedule an appt previously for a problem with his truck and Kevin gave him some trouble-shooting advise over the phone which saved us from having to make an unnecessary appt. Honest guy trying to do the right thing. I had a leaking oil pressure sending unit on my Jeep. Called around for a couple of quotes after the shop I used to work with quoted me an absurd price. Kevin's price was very reasonable and what I was expecting. He fixed the leak and even cleaned up the mess the oil spill made. I had a second vehicle I recently bought with a catalytic CEL code. What I appreciate about Kevin, is he told me to use premium gas and catalytic cleaner fuel additive and see if that clears up things before bringing it in. As long as I live in this area, I will be a customer. That type of honesty and fair pricing is hard to come by. read more

After looking at positive Yelp and Google Reviews I went to Complete Auto Center to have my brakes looked at. Kevin was honest and said that they didn't need to be replaced yet. He brought me into the garage (with two kids in tow!) to show me that I did have a millimeter or two of brake pad left. He also let me know that the squeaking I heard was just brake dust that could easily be cleaned. It took about 20 minutes and I was not charged to have the brakes inspected. We found Complete Auto Center online and decided to take a chance based on the reviews. I'm happy to say that it was well worth the visit. We have a 2000 Honda Civic who's a/c has been broken for a while. We were hoping it was just the compressor and had gotten several quotes. Complete's quote was very reasonable so we decided to have them check it out. The work ended up being more extensive but they still completed the work for less than many of their competitor's quotes which were just for the compressor. Recently, when our brake lights wouldn't turn off we stopped by and they fixed it for next to nothing. It's refreshing to find an honest and fair mechanic. I highly recommend them. read more

In my experience it has been difficult to find a good, honest, and reliable auto repair shop. I'm happy to say this place is one of them. I've been here a couple of times and each time I have received great service with a very honest discussion. Kevin will go out of his way to fully explain the issue, the option(s), and the cost. I brought my '06 Honda Civic to Complete Auto Center for two things: 1) an A/C Recharge, and 2) an oil/filter change.   The A/C condenser had recently been replaced so the A/C was completely empty.  They told me in advance that a complete vacuum and refill would cost $150. I agreed to the cost.  I did not get an estimate on the oil/filter change.  When the recharge of the A/C was complete they called to tell me that the A/C still wasn't working and that if I wanted a diagnostic done on it, it would cost me an additional $150.  I asked if that charge would be applied to any repairs I agreed to, he said no.  I reluctantly agreed.   After the diagnosis, he told me I needed a new A/C compressor and that it would cost $1,400.  (In addition to the $300 I had already spent).  I declined because repairpal.com estimates that repair should cost between $638 and $1,091.  So their estimate is on average about 60% higher than it should be. And over twice the low estimate!   In addition to the $300 I paid them, I now have a fully charged A/C system that I will need to pay someone else to drain before the repair can be made.  So that's another $150 I will have to pay. Oh, and after I paid them $300 for essentially nothing and picked up my car, I realized on my way home that they forgot to do the oil/filter change.  I called them and they apologized.  Luckily they didn't charge me for that. The folks at the shop were nice enough to talk to, but they will charge you for every little thing and they are not even close to the best deal in this area. I cannot recommend using this shop. read more

These guys are fantastic, very knowledgable and trustworthy. I had a wheel bearing hub repaired and had gone their twice. First time, I didn't take their recommendation to test the wheels because I was convinced I knew it was the right front. After the repair, problem was still there (my fault). Kevin was very sympathetic since I had something perfectly good replaced and showed me the test equipment and old wheel bearing to explain everything and why they recommend it. He didn't have to do that. After a couple weeks, I decided to go ahead and get the correct one repaired. Even though they had trouble removing it, they didn't charge me any extra time and kept me informed through the whole process. I appreciate that. Car dealers won't take the time to do that. Complete Auto Center is a very friendly place, and I feel they really care about the service to your car. I thank them and fully recommend their services. Our car was making an annoying sound from under the dash/center console, so after speaking to Kevin on the phone, he said to come by and he may be able to diagnose the problem. He was so kind and helpful, showing us what the problem turned out to be. The car is old and it would be expensive to fix, and since it's not essential to the car's operation, my son is going to try to take care of it himself. Okay first off Kevin is great dude. he did a coolant pressure check on my car but he had to order a 110 dollar part to do the test. When no issue was found Kevin discounted my bill with out me asking and gave me some solid advise. very helpful and will work very hard to get you answers for your car issues. First great sign was when I told Kevin that I was going to drop my car off and walk to the station to continue on to work, he told me no; they would drive over and just pick my car up and put it back when done. I took my mom's car here last week to get checked out and get fixed up to pass inspection. She had previously taken it to other auto centers in Manassas and I honestly felt like everyone was just trying to rip her off. I'm sure everyone is super weary of auto mechanics around this area especially since there are some crazy prices around here for minimal work. But I can say that I did a ton of fact and review checking prior to taking any of my vehicles anywhere. I found Complete Auto Center through Yelp and decided to give them a try. My 2010 Acura TSX needs some work (a ton of blinky lights and such that I have no idea about) and my husband thought it was a timing chain issue. I gave Complete Auto Care a call and they were able to see us the very next day. I brought the car in and dropped it off. Kevin, the owner, let me know there would be a fee for the diagnostics which I wasn't aware of until I dropped the car off. I almost left but decided to pay the money and see what they find. I'm really glad I did! It was a timing chain issue and the quoted me a pretty decent price. Not the cheapest I've found around the area but after spending two days with these guys, I found myself feeling very confident in their work. I brought my Mazda in for an oil change the next day and am planning to take my GMC Acadia in for some work in the future. As for the Acura, we will most likely make an appointment to have them do the timing chain replacement and I'll update my review then. But I don't foresee any issues and would recommend this place to others! read more

I have taken my vehicles to Complete Auto Center for over 4 years. I get excellent, honest, friendly service every time. They stand by their work. I have had a few of my vehicles towed to the shop and they had me back on the road within a day or two of receiving my vehicles. I have tried a few other shops and have not been happy the services. I have been upcharged by the previous shops. Meaning, they always tell me I need other higher cost services that I find out I do not need. (I got second opinions) I have not received that treatment with Complete Auto. I can not recommend them enough. read more
