This has to be the most unhelpful, rude, and absolutely pathetic excuse for a company! I had to leave work three times already for these people to Install a DVR box correctly. The service centers are uneducated, unhelpful, and have trouble listening. You may get a rare person who is great at customer service. But even the managers refuse to do their jobs and call you back! I have a business access line that I requested to be cancelled due to inactivity during COVID however I asked if the phone number could be ported over to a new provider well that new provider just contacted me and told me that service cannot be completed because Comcast has already DISCONNECTED the phone number AFTER they told me they would keep it active for 14 days! The worst customer service I have dealt with from ANY company I have had business with. After suffering through a tragic fire which most of my belongings were destroyed, and after finding a new home, I called Comcast to set up a new installation in my new residence. I explained what happened and was told I would be waived the cost for the lost cable boxes and I would actually be receiving a credit of $59 because I had paid ahead of time. Excellent, I thought. Two weeks after the installation and I receive a letter from Comcast. I am thinking it is a check for $59. Nope. Instead, it is a bill for $301.00. They had charged me $360.00 for cable boxes and had credited me $59.00. $360.00 for cable boxes that they will never use again anyway. I called customer service and spoke with a supervisor immediately. I again, explained the situation I was in and told her that I was already promised that any costs for the destroyed cable boxes would be waived. She would not budge. I had been a loyal Comcast customer for over 5+ years and had paid my bill on time every month. My entire life is practically destroyed in a fire, and this is how Comcast shows their sympathy? By outright lying to my face to extend my service, then by sending me a bill for $360 for worthless boxes? I spent the past weekend rummaging through ashes and memories lost forever to find Comcast their precious boxes so they can take their ludicrous charge off of my bill. Note to people with Comcast - if you ever have a fire, forget your loved ones...Comcast believes the priority is on cable boxes! After finding the cable boxes, all in tact, and after cleaning them up myself, I return the boxes in person to Comcast, only to be told; "They smell like smoke and might not be able to take them back". We purchased an iPhone 12pro on 1/30. They said we would have plenty of storage. They were wrong and the next day we went back to upgrade to a 200 plus storage. They needed to order it.. two days later it shows up and we go to the xfinity store to set up and transfer new phone and return the old one. A month later they shut our service off do to non payment. They said they hadn't received the 1st one we returned to the Xfinty store. Called up and they said it was in the warehouse in Texas and they needed to process it. So even though they had the phone they didn't bother to try to charge the card on file so they disconnected the service. The only way to get it back was to pay the full value of the phone which was $1,200. So I paid it and trying to get answers from there customer service team was the worst. You will never get the same answer from any employee. They say they use Verizon towers but I have never received so many dropped calls like I do now... I wish I stayed with Verizon!! Internet is awful never really works and if it does it's a constant on and off. And when u call u get a voice recording to turn off your Modem for thirty seconds and they send a signal. That never works and u can never get threw to a person to ask if I pay my bill on time why can't I get what I paid for. Cable is very lucky tonight because comcast is my mother's service. As I told two of comcast employees that if it was my option: comcast would be something of the past. Forget the fact that I had spent at least four hours on the phone this evening trying to get some answers to what originally was just about a cable serviceman from Comcast installing a dysfunctional old cable box in mothers living room after not being able to watch anything for two days. Old ladies can certainly be a target. In another life I must have done something really awful to some one. My comcast agent Arion? Tried to comfort me by offering the deal of the century... My mom would not have to pay for the cable for the three days it didn't work and with that had no idea when someone would be available to work on the cable. NO ONE IS LUCKIER THAN ME! I told this comcast agent that she just insulted me and I needed to speak to her sup.. I thought I asked to speak to Gov. Baker because to ŕeach him would have been easier. She put me on hold forever returned to my call to say her supervisor had authorized for my mom to not pay since the cable was in needd of repair till it was working. What not pay for the cable that isn't working????? Call me crazy, fid not go with this option either. I demanded to speak with her supervisor and for quite some time she wouldn't meet my request. Finally she put me on hold and after 12 minutes surprisingly we got disconnected! I immediately called back and had relive the entire experience again. So far I've had very little trouble with ComCast. I've called for a tech guy to come over twice now, and both times they were professional, courteous, arrived within the time-frame, and got the job done. My service has been great, with minimal interruptions, and their customer service is pleasant enough to speak to. The one thing that I have a problem with is the expiration of the offer. I got a student offer last year, but it expired after nine months (which I knew about when I first signed up, but who keeps track?). Suddenly the amount due increased without any warning because the offer was done and my plan reverted to regular pricing. It would have been nice to be informed, and it would have been awesome if the offer was renewable. I'm still a student after all. :) read more

While the previous reviewers have it covered on the customer service front, I'm adding my 2 cents on Xfinity Home Security. First of all, I'd like to give a big thumbs up to the two techs who came out, Jon and Christian. Jon knows A LOT and anything he doesn't know he will let you know, then research it and get back to you. Great guy. What's not so good is the Xfinity Home Security product itself. Unlike my last alarm system (ADT), this system will not let you arm the motion detectors while you're in the house. Now, since I'm someone who would prefer to know in *advance* that someone has broken into my home before they come upstairs to say hello, I find this lack of functionality a no-go. Maybe I'm wrong here, but isn't the purpose of an alarm to *alert* you and to make a noise so that the person committing the B&E hears an alarm and (hopefully) goes *away*? But NO! The Xfinity Home Security design team feels differently. I think the home security product has awesome potential, however, and hope that their team fixes this very big, very glaring glitch. read more

We were told someone would come out today and we would get a followup call within 10 minutes, no one ever called. When we called back they said they had no record of the appointment in their system. It is disturbing to me to have had to call because of 20% increase. Why and how does one justify this kind of robbery. Pay folks to much. Employees or what? 20% raises. This is our entertainment. Service is very good. Mostly works. Just keep those cost down. I would assume that sometimes there will be more competition to prevent this kind of put us over a barrel stuff. If I could give zero stars, I would Comcast sucks, and we all know it. They've monopolized a market, extorted a customer base, and purchased the support of their "regulators". This is corporate corruption with no subtlety whatsoever. The worst part is, they typically don't even own the network infrastructure. I mean, think about it, if they don't own the physical network, then what do they really do? Maybe this is just anectodal evidence, but among the 5 or so times that I have interacted with Comcast on a hardware/infrastructural level, the work has been contracted to third party labor. In a way, they are just a giant marketing firm. I'm not trying to say anything bad about marketing as a profession, just pointing out that one of the most powerful communications companies to have ever existed is predominantly just a marketing firm. Horrible service! We have had intermittent internet service for 5 Years! We have made every change recommended with no results. From call support to the technicians, their support is terrible. They don't keep appointments, they don't retain notes, you can never talk to a supervisor. If we could use another provider, we would but xfinity has a monopoly in our area. Absolute worst customer service. I submitted a request through Xfinity online to transfer service from my current address to the new address we are moving to. I received a call shortly after, saying the new address isn't currently registered with Xfinity, and I was given a number to call to get it set up with Xfinity service. This sounded seemingly easy, but I called the number and was told the number was for the Billing department, not the new activations department. They tried to transfer me to new activations, and I sat on hold until the call was just dropped ?? I started over by calling their general customer service line, and couldn't speak to a real person no matter what I tried. I wasted 20 minutes going through prompts that didn't lead me to anything useful. I tried a different customer service number - same thing. At this point I'd wasted about 45 minutes, so I called the first number back (the one that initially called me..), thinking they could hopefully give me the correct number to contact. This time, they told me I was speaking to the business service line, not the residential service line. I asked to be connected to the residential service line, sat on hold again, and when the woman picked up she said she was in the Comcast Business department and had to transfer me. At this point, I was just laughing. I was bounced through 5 different departments, with 0 progress, and have spent an hour of my day on this now! By the time they tried to transfer me to a 6th department, I hung up, cancelled my service online altogether, and am going to call a different service provider. read more

When I finally had a manager on the phone who could look up pricing since it's not viewable online, he could not help change my plan because he did not know how to handle anything with home security. Xfinity Waltham Ma customer service sucks. My internet has been disconnecting for months and they have never sent anyone. I was on online with them for 3 hours on Easter Sunday and few times before that. They said it was fixed now the problem is back. All they do is reset the box over and over and over. No one has come out to check the connection outside or anything. If you're looking for an internet provider go elsewhere. Once there's a problem it will never go away. Every year they jack up the cost and the customer service just gets worse. I just lost my connection when tried to post this! WTF! read more

What a shitty service provider. It does not matter how long you wait on hold for a service agent, or how many times you use the app to chat with an agent, they will run you around in circles for hours and not even solve any of your issues. The first time i paid 130$ to get my service back on, i called twice on two seperate occasions to which they " reconnected the service successfully....My motem has never reconnected with service and ive been without wifi for months only to see my wifi bill add up without even being able to use it..When i first came accross xfinity the self install was quick and extremely reliable and easy to do. This game they're playing is a truly unruly upsale tactic to get you to pay a 90$ fee after they've neglected to help you many times or have left you waiting for hours on end only to receive absolutly no resolution. I have only seen debt and malicious money grabs from this service provider that never even provided me with service to begin with! read more

If I could give a zero I would. Don't get me wrong prices are basically okay and yes you do get excellent coverage because of Verizon. But their customer service has something left to be desired. What I'm referring to is if you have an issue the first set of customer Representatives you speak to or always very apologetic always telling you that they will do everything they can yet when they transfer you that's where the issues are. I have wasted 80 hours of my life trying to get replacement phones dealing with billing issues being told that you are on auto debit and we cannot cancel it so basically they've got you. Their customer service really is poor and I mean just terribly poor. It's not worth it I say go to T-Mobile go anywhere but stay away from them. I was told by Comcast that a technician would be out on Friday before 12:00 to install cable. So, I took the day off from work to meet him. 12:00 rolled by and no one ever showed. Several phone calls and promised arrival times later, I had spent the entire day at my new home, and seen NO ONE. I could have easy worked and met the technican AFTER work, by the time he actually showed up. BUT, before he actually arrived, someone from Comcast told me the tech had rung the door and no one was home. BULL-CRAP! I was sitting in my front living room almost ALL DAY. The tech just tried to weasel out of having to do another job near 5:00. I was furious! I missed a whole day of work, for nothing. The tech ended up coming and unhappily went about his work. I think he was here until about 10:00PM. Why? I have no clue! The previous owners already had CoOmcast installed, so I have no idea why it would ever take that long. Also, my new boxes are very spotty. I think it's time to switch to someone else. read more

Comcast ranges from wonderful service to terrible service. Some calls, they're able to immediately answer your questions with no issues or problems. Other times, it's like you're speaking Klingon to them. Let me give an example: on the night before the election, I lost my internet. It disappeared when Comcast had an area service outage. I tried calling, and when informed of aforementioned service outage, I decided to wait it out. After the election, and wanting to check out the various Congressional races, I tried again. Nothing. I eventually called Comcast. Now, I don't remember the whole discussion, but basically the person on the other side decided that the problem was obviously with my computer, as everything was fine on their end, so they wanted to schedule a service call. I wasn't about to believe that, so I asked them whether or not there should only be two lights beeping on my modem. They said yes, there should only be two buttons beeping. Cut to the next morning: I've tried unplugging things, and everything else I can think of, to no avail. So, I try calling Comcast again. The person on the other line asks me how many lights are beeping on my modem. I say two. They say to push on the button, and boom, I've got internet again. No need for service calls, days taken off of work, or other shenanigans. So Comcast can be helpful. But they can also stink. It can be good or bad based on when you call or what person you work with. read more

I spent over an hour trying to get my password reset. I was connected to 7 different people who were obviously in call centers overseas, most I could not understand do to heavy accents, bad headsets, and noise in background. These jobs could be filled in the US and these poor people should be working from home for safety during COVID, they also deserve to get the training they need and we as customers deserve. Finally a woman without an accent was able to tell me to use a different browser which worked. Internet and TV go out regularly and sometimes for days. If there was another provider I would change, but unfortunately they have a monopoly in my area, this is why we need competition. read more

[that's unlike nynex, or whatever their name is now]. On TV they are very helpful. On internet, better than ok. On phone, no problem yet. The only bitch I have is they offered me $100 for each person referred on in the office building. There were 3. I've yet to get my $300. read more

Service people vary from very good to incompetent and rude. After replacing the "modem" twice, problem still wasn't solved, so we were told that someone would come in within 48 hours to look at the network equipment behind the modem in the apartment attic. Guy showed up and said "I'm here with your new modem!" Problem isn't the modem, idiot. So he said that some other group did that type of work. Also said they needed a bucket truck (All utilities in the complex are underground). Promised that he would have them send someone else within 48 hours. Called Comcast two days later and they said that they had no record of any such trouble ticket. Now they are going to have to send someone else to check it out. I never leave reviews...ever. However, I feel the need in this instance. Xfinity would not disconnect my service when requested and want me to pay for an extra 10 days. I gave them 3 weeks notice, and they said because of the billing department, they could not get someone to disconnect our service. No one had to come to the house to disconnect. It does not make sense. I could not talk to anyone on the phone, only through online chat. I was on chat for an hour! They refuse to resolve the issue. Beware of their billing. read more
