Terrible company. I asked for a future disconnection and they disconnected me the next day instead. After jumping through hoops they said they had to send a technician out in 24 hours to enter my apartment to reconnect my service back to what it was due to their mistake. The billing was also wrong the they activated it again. And they said it would take 7-10 business days before a "ticket" could be written to compensate me for their mistake. None of my devices are now working because the WiFi is turned off and I was on the phone and talked to 3 different people and still couldn't get it fixed. I had told them I wasn't interested, and they came back to my house 4 more times after that. Then yesterday there was a guy that showed up. Knocked on my door hard, then my dog went crazy so I peeked out. Ignored it because I had denied thier service 4 times then the guy came back knocking even harder on my door. I then opened the door told him I wasn't interested to that I was asked why. Again I told them I had an internet provider already and I was happy with them. Then kept getting closer to me as he was talking I shut the screen door in between us and locked it. I told him again I'm not interested have a nice day and shut the big door that time. He finally left, then today at 8:24pm after xfinity hours came back to my house and sat right outside of it by the curb for about 10minutes staring at my mom and I talking on the porch. The quality of the actual Internet service is mediocre on a good day, and several days a month, it's completely nonexistent. The AI assistant is a joke. Basically the equivalent of turn it off and back on again. You can't actually call the local store, instead it's a call center where you're transferred again and again and again without any resolution of the problem. As if it isn't bad enough that the service is super unreliable, my bill has unexplainably risen by $10 three times since initiation of the service eight months ago. The irony is overwhelming. I wouldn't even mind paying more if it worked! What a joke. And this is a service I continue to pay for in a rental house for my kids who attend Purdue. We have no choice, because it's the only Internet available in the area... except that it's not really available! Just ridiculous. read more

-15 stars!!!Ill never again recommend xfinity to anybody.I will do everything in my power to get everyone i know to change service providers.They take advantage of the disabled who need internet for doctor calls online.New customers run they are theives.When there overseas call centers fix problems and then you system messes up over and over.Had to show bank statements that I have paid every month for 5 yrs.Now for some reason I was 90 behind and it racked up interest somehow.Now I'm supposed to pay 309 dollars to close the account cause I'm moving away and my mentally challenged brother is moving into my old apartment and won't let him have it til I pay that 309.Your team cant show why there was a late fee but I still have to pay it and interest.Thats theft in my book.Might look into gettin a lawyer.We will see?I have went back as far as 01/01/2023.Thats where my brother was using my bank account to use to pay his. he would give me cash and I would pay online with my card.I moved back in July of 2023 and he canceled June July ish July 3rd I went in he canceled his on the phone.I started a new account and started paying 85 something.I had one month of paying that.I went to 100 then 115 never to be at 85.And somehow I owe 309 dollars.Tell me where the justice is in that or fairness. read more

Xfinity is a scam. My mother, who is on a fixed income, currently pays $132/month for voice, basic cable, and internet. She has the basic cable (which she never watches) only to receive a three service $40 discount. If she were to cancel her cable, her monthly bill would go up to $172/month. This is the worse company to work with. Their "customer service" is despicable! You spend well over an hr just getting transferred to the correct person and then another 2 hrs trying to sort out the issue. They dropped the ball on their end which resulted in us continuing to pay over $340 per month. Additional premium channels were snuck onto our bill and they refused to give us our money back. Their tactic is to transfer you and make empty promises just so you won't cancel but the second you hang up, you are right back to square one. We are considered suing for $700+ at this point. I would give this company zero stars if I could. Comcast/Xfinity service people are usually pleasant and courteous, but their hands are tied by the "system." I've heard several similar complaints regarding "hidden fees" and an underhandedly vague billing system. Sorry it's a long story... I began with a great $39.99/mo deal for high speed internet. Two months later my bill spiked $10.00 "because I hadn't signed up for automatic payments." I resolved the issue, only to find the next month that my bill spiked $10.00 again "because I hadn't signed up for e-billing." Why hadn't I been told this from the start? Already frustrated with the messy paper trail, I came to find several months later that Comcast had been automatically charging me $10.00 more for an increased speed package I would never have agreed to. I called and they never got back to me. I canceled my automatic payments and e-billing so I could actually see what was going on. It's fishy in of itself that the forced automatic payments and e-billing just make the process a little more complicated and less straight forward. Plus, I doubt many people have the exorbitant amount of time to correct these issues and just pay the extra money. Comcast of course knows this. To top it all off, when I called the final time and customer service was trying to scrape up a deal to satisfy me (still $5.00/mo more than my original deal) they regretfully told me that they were unable to send me the details of the deal in email or snail mail form to use for future proof. They were only allowed to make a note on my account (which I can't even see). My advice if you're unfortunate enough to have to use Comcast, get it in writing. The whole system is corrupt and laughable... Looking forward to changing to Metronet this fall. I haven't checked prices, but I don't even care if Metronet charges more for honest business. After 3 YEARS of arguing over our bill every month and having additional charges continuously added on without "anyone's" knowledge of how it happened we decided to cancel immediately. Avoid at all costs. I signed up for internet with a new customer promotion. But when I checked my bill, it was higher than what I agreed on when I signed up. I tried to call the customer service but they kept directing my call to different departments which solve nothing. They even claimed the promotion I signed up for is not available anymore, blah blah. I am stuck with them because Comcast is the only provider in my area, but I am going to switch immediately if metronet or Google Fiber become available. read more

Comcast is seriously THE worst company I have ever had to work with. Their Chat program is nice for faster customer service except I'm pretty sure they don't keep records of my history because I have had to contact customer service for 8 months in a row now. Each and every month they bill me wrong. Time and time again I am "promised" that I will not be charged incorrectly the next month. What do I see the next month? My bill being $10 more than it should be...... I have never worked with a company so incompetent in my life. These bastards absolutely screw the residents of West Lafayette. Their prices are high and the service is garbage. Their cable internet is slower than DSL. I had them as my ISP for three years during college. It was awful. Every time I called in to complain about the horrible speeds, I was told that it was because there were so many people using it per block that it couldn't be any faster. Bullshit. I have since lived in two large cities and the internet was blazing fast. There were significantly more people per block and the speeds were still better. They are either too cheap to upgrade their network infrastructure in West Lafayette or they are throttling the speeds so that the college kids can't gobble up bandwidth. Either way, it's crap. I really hope that AT&T expands their UVerse service in the area or more ISP's start up shop. Comcast has a monopoly of the market there so they can get away with this crap. If there were more options, they would get their act together and start treating the citizens of West Lafayette like they should be. When I moved away and switched to UVerse DSL, it was significantly faster than my comcast there was. I switched back to comcast for my new apartment and the service (supposedly the same speed as I was being served with in WL) is super fast compared to what it was in West Lafayette. Funny thing is, I have more people living on my street now than I did in WL. Don't stand for this crap. If you have another option, take your business elsewhere. read more

What a bunch of crap I had to go through. I purchased ($9.95) the self-install kit. I could not get it to work. I was told by Support Person #1 I needed a different modem. So I went to Wally World and spent $115 on a new one. Then Supper Person #2 said I'd have to get a technician person out as still wouldn't work. I was told I would NOT have to pay for the service call. The person came and fixed my problem the next day and I got to use my old equipment. When I get the first invoice, it is for the $9.95 AND a $50 service call. They refused to take the $50 off, saying I was incorrectly told I would not have to pay for the call. Finally after whining for about half an hour a supervisor agreed to cut the costs in half (50+9.95 / 2) so I paid about $30 and should have only paid $9.95. Wally did take my purchased modem back so not out that expense but their refusal to honor what I was told infuriates me. Beware of these liars! read more

Bad product, bad service. What more needs to be said. Our internet service is horrible and when I try work with them they continually say it is in the house. I have had DSL (could only get 1meg rate) that performed better than their cable and I use the same networking equipment hooked up to the vendor access point. They are a monopoly, it is that plain and simple. OH WAIT, there is competition come to the "metro" area and will be providing all the same inter"NET" services as comcast with one small difference, it wont stink!!! read more

Comcast has the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. We have been trying to get internet installed in our apartment for several weeks. Each time we call them we have been given conflicting information. Their reps are apparently very poorly trained, or just plain dumb. We have been through at least 5 reps at this point, and each one has told us something completely different than the ones before them. One rep was quite rude to us and told us to install it ourselves. We gladly would have in order to stop our interaction with Comcast, but the next rep told us that in fact that was not possible. Our time windows have been all day despite the fact that they claim to have 2 hour windows. We are at the end of our second "installation day" and they have yet to show up.
