This is a review of a recent "service assistance" at the S. Cedar Xfinity store in Lansing, Michigan. I actually met with the manager of the store, Sebastian. Who slouched in chair, chewed gum, did not give me eye contact or appear to be friendly. Beware when you go in to have specific questions prepared. Look out for omissions on their recommendations. For example, I was told he could lower my internet course with a deal but part of the deal was a Samsung tablet. I said I didn't need it. Sebastian said it was part of the deal so I said ok. Sebastian didn't mention that by taking he tablet I would be paying $140 over three years. I went back to return it and it took them over half an hour just to accept it back after they ask for SS # and photographed my drivers license. Be sure you ask the "helper" to explain your service and the costs of each item before you accept it. Also the terms they use for different services are ambiguous. Just had someone replace our box, upgrade our service, and he was amazing. Clear, focused, engaging, and a totally warm and wonderful person. They talk about a breath of fresh air--he was a gust. He made my day start with energy and good humor and the sense that the world is a good place. Exactly what I needed without being aware of it. This store needs a major training session in customer service! I went to the store about two weeks ago to upgrade my modem. The store manager greeted me and seemed excited to assist but after a short while it was evident that the stores was pure chaos! He was loudly interjecting from across the room in an effort assist all 4 booths. I went back the yesterday to bring my phone to be activated for my free line for a year. There were two agents working. One didn't seem interested and the other seemed quite confused about how to navigate the system but had great customer service towards me. When asking for help, the one rep was so disrespectful to the other right in front of me. He was condescending and evidently annoyed!! I ended up there while the confused agent tried to figure things out with no support and the poor man seemed scared to ask for help. The other rep watched and intermittently assisted resulting in me being there over 1.5 hours while 3 other customers came in, were assisted and left. Worst customer service on the planet. Their agents are recruited from the bowels of Hell. I'd rather watch a one-handed man do shadow puppets with a flashlight than use Comcast. Nothing but thieves. It took 45 minutes on the phone with an agent to cancel my service. The agent was just screwing with me. Their prices are outrageous. I got high speed fiber optic internet and Hulu Live TV for $100 less a month than Comcast. If I never have to deal with them again, it will be a blessed life. read more

I have had a terrible experience trying to get internet installed in my apartment with Xfinity. Despite living in my new apartment (moved in on 6/22) for over two weeks, I still don't have internet. Initially, I thought activating my router/modem via the app would be straightforward, but the light kept flashing orange regardless of which coax cable I used. Two technicians have visited, and both provided the same diagnosis: a disconnect between my apartment and the external cable, requiring a new line to be run. The first technician, who came on a Saturday (6/29), promised to call his supervisor and update me on when a crew could come to run the line. I never received any follow-up. This tech also performed unacceptable work while trying to find the coax connection within my apartment's wall - meaning he went through a panel that was already cut out in a closet wall to find the cable but while taking the panel out he broke the drywall panel in half because the panel was screwed and nailed in place (which shouldn't have been done in the first place) but then didn't even say anything about breaking the panel. He also left a mess at each coax cable outlet - he took off each outlet covering on the wall but then left pieces of drywall and plaster on the floor and didn't even put the coverings back on before he left. Attempts to resolve this issue through Xfinity's customer service were equally frustrating. The automated system was unhelpful, and chat representatives seemed more interested in selling deals than addressing my problem. Visiting the local Xfinity store resulted in being told that nothing could be done due to an existing ticket, and I should wait for updates. After finally reaching a live person over the phone (7/3), I managed to secure a second appointment on the Monday after the Fourth of July, requiring me to leave work early. The second technician repeated the same steps and diagnosis as the first, with no progress made. I was under the impression that the second technician would install the new line, but this was not the case. Upon returning to the Xfinity store, the staff and manager were confused as to why the new line hadn't been installed. The manager mentioned the next available appointment was the following morning, or I would have to wait another 4-5 days. This means more missed work and uncertainty, as the technician may or may not need access to my apartment and might have to return on a different day to complete the job inside my apartment. I was also told that the crew/techs may or may not show up tomorrow morning which is a ridiculous thing to say after everything I've dealt with. I am extremely disappointed with this service. It is highly unacceptable that after more than two weeks, I still do not have internet. If the line is not run during the next appointment, I will be canceling my service with Xfinity and requesting a refund. Unfortunately, switching to another provider is not an option since Spectrum does not service my area. This shows that I would rather be without internet than deal with Xfinity again. Overall, my experience with Xfinity has been frustrating, time-consuming, and unproductive. I would not recommend their services based on my ordeal. This is a terrible company. DON'T USE. They flat out lie to you about their service. I wasn't able to use their internet as it kept dropping my signal. After 2 months I switched my service to T mobile. They charged me for breaking the contract I was never informed I had. When I called to complain they said they would forgive the bill. LIE!!! My mother is 70 years old every month Comcast come up with story of how my mother didn't make her Payments. She sit on the phone for hours just for one person to get in the phone to say they will honoring arrangements only to find out service interruptions no documentation of the phone calls or the conversation that was taken and we also made changes to our bill to make our bill less they will populate any type of charges to make your bill go back up. I've found that it's very hard to reach ANYONE from Xfinity to answer questions about billing and service without having to jump through the Chatbot and "Automated Service" nightmare. The app says I need a call back from a person - that does not exist - to cancel and it cannot be done on-line. Amazing how I can spend money with them on-line all day long, but when it comes time to cancel, they won't give you that option. Horrible experience at Lansing Michigan Xfinity today. If you call the 800 number you get someone you can't hear, can't understand and can't speak English. I specifically went to the local store so I could have a easily understood conversation about the $40 increase in my monthly bill. I've been a customer for ten years. Was told my contract was up and needed yonselect a new plan. The only plan they could provide me with was with unnecessary add-ons and a higher price. I could call the 800 number and they might be able to get me a better package and price. I explained to Charles the reason why I came to the store instead of calling the 800 number. No good. Asked for the manager who repeated the same blah blah as Charles. Told them I would cancel service and left. If possible I would give zero stars, I am certainly not surprised to see what others have written. The only thing worse than Comcast internet is their customer service. The only reason we have Comcast is because we have no other options for cable internet...although it is to the point where I am going to cancel and switch to uverse. Comcast is charging us $70/month for internet that, at best, works only 1/2 of the time and never runs close to the speed for which we pay. I noticed yesterday that they have been charging us $10/month for a service that we never even signed up for. Our internet has been down for 2 days and they really don't seem to care. Had to start recording my phone calls, taking screenshots of everything and demanding emails to prove to them that they have lied and cheated me. I am still waiting for a refund that has been promised to me multiple times over the past couple months and have found they have lied to me many times telling me my bank has to "release the refund" which is not true and was confirmed from my bank that they never even saw a refund come through. Unless you have literally no other option, don't choose them. They will consistently overcharge your bill. Unenroll you in autopay then charge you a late fee. Delay your ability to use your own modem so that you're forced to use theirs - then they lie about them offering you credit for you having to use their overpriced equipment for a week because of their screwup. You will likely have to talk to multiple customer service reps before the issue is somewhat resolved - and even then they still cheat you out of some of what you're owed back. Update: So I returned their modem to them using UPS (as they recommend). 2 months and 3 phone calls and they are still trying to charge me $13/mo on my bill for renting a modem I long-returned. December 20, 2023. I was informed by the Attorney Generals office about a security breech involving Xfinity, yet Xfinity never notified me about it. That same night I got my Xfinity bill it had an increase for almost five dollars. My bill had increased twice in 2023 with no explanation. When I searched the site for my internet usage, it was no longer available to view. I asked the automated system why my bill had increased and it sent me back to my bill for viewing. This is what they mean by contactless service, you don't get to talk to a real person. I'm ticked off about the breech and coupled with the fact that my bill for services has increased has led me to look for another provider not named Xfinity. They've increased my bill and are treating my bank account like it's an all you can eat buffet. I've never in my life seen such shrewd and arrogant practices by a provider, as if they are entitled. Run! Deceptive practices have led to our decision to cancel service with Xfinity and Comcast. Do be cautious when "special" is included with any offers. We agreed to a special offer, but after realizing that we couldn't utilize the service, we sought to cancelled the it. We went directly to the Comcast store in the Eastwood Towne Center in Lansing to cancel the offer within the three-day cancellation period. We were assured that the service was cancelled, as we'd requested, and we left. We've received our monthly billing statement, and Comcast Xfinity did not cancel the service. I used Xfinity for 5 years. When I first got started they sent me a cable box I never asked for and when I tried to return it immediately they told me I wasn't being charged for it and to just keep it. Later when my router was apparently having issues instead of telling me to replace my router customer service kept telling me my plan was just to slow and pressured me into upgrading my plan. When that didn't work and I realized it was the router and not my internet speed I tried to go back to my original plan but they wouldn't allow me to and told me they aren't allowed to downgrade plans so I paid hundreds of dollars I shouldn't have had to over the next few years. Fast forward to 3 weeks ago when I canceled my plan due to a move, the representative. I spoke to said the cancelation was complete after a 20 minute call to confirm it and was told since I owned my own router I didn't have to return any equipment. Then today I get an email saying I have to return the cable box I tried returning years ago and never wanted or used. I didn't keep track of it during the move since I was told I wouldn't have to return anything and have no clue where it is to return it. I called Xfinity and explained what I was told when I closed my account as well as my previous interactions with them and all they did was apologize for the poor service and told me I would still be charged for the box if I don't return it. My roommate and I went into the store and we're helped fairly quickly by Duane. Let me just say that I was fully expecting to talk to some yahoo giving me the run around per usual. Everyone knows Xfinity's terrible reputation for customer service and the way they scam / treat their customers. Duane not only validated our concerns with the company but helped explain what they were doing to fix it. He helped remove faulty charges from our account and got us a great deal on faster internet which resulted in us deciding not to leave the company actually. If there was less than one star they would get none. Don't sign a contract, especially for a promotional phone. It will cost you more in the long run when you find out that the Verizon network they are using is basically Verizon wifi between the towers. The only way out is to pay premium charges in order to maintain your cell number to port to a carrier that has good service. Change the settings on your phone now to wifi calling and cellular, and reset your network settings often. This is what you have to do for every phone call to resolve issues and it does NOTHING. Your by the gig usage will cost you more in the long run since you're bounced off wifi and onto LTE often. They couldn't find that I had a cell signal but said I was covered by a Verizon tower. They could not tell me what tower my home address was connected to because they couldn't find a signal. I had a signal for 2 months then it was gone when they moved me to a cell tower that didn't reach my home. They can do what ever they want, you still have to pay your bill. Don't waste your time trying to get an issue resolved at the store regarding your cell phone issues, the store manager stated they are sales and don't have anything to do with service. We had cell phone service for many years that worked great then it changed. Don't bother with their 888 number for customer service, you'll get someone from either the Philippines, Honduras or Mexico. You always start with level 1 and can never get to a person that can actually help with your account which is level 3 or beyond. I went into the Eastwood Towne Center location today for a very simple modem exchange. 8 hours later we are finally getting the mess created at the store worked out at home. On May 9th, with ongoing issues related to my mobile data, I made the decision to buy a new phone. However, with much research, I elected to get an "unlocked" phone from a third party and have Xfinity port it in (it appears on their website like that is an option). I went and picked up the phone (May 10th), then went directly to Xfinity Brighton arriving at ~10:30am. The young man that was handling my issue did some stuff on the computer and after some time began to stammer and asked in a vague way what my plan B might be. I told him that I recognized that he was trying to manage expectations and to just come out with it, as I was beginning work soon and did not have the time to play around. He finally relented and said that the phone, which is the same phone they sell (albeit more memory @ 256gigs) with a savings of $100. It is quite clear that they are not willing to compete, since when I challenged this position, they were unwilling to even come close to matching the price with their technically inferior phone (128gigs). I even offered to wait while the young man could go and talk to someone about the situation. That was a NO. He did fix my current phone by putting a new SIM card in it, but by what can only be described as his confusion and cockup, he managed to send me on my way with a different phone number than I came in with. I didn't realize it until I came to the realization that I had gotten no text messages. In addition, I missed many calls that I became aware of later. In sales, that is NO BUENO! When I went back, he immediately began to defend himself that he had done nothing wrong. Also, NO BUENO, coming from someone in a customer service/sales role. It paid for the gas, to come 20 miles to your store, for what? To spend an extra $150 dollars on YOUR PRODUCTS??? We are FIRST DAY NEW CUSTOMERS!!! Wow! And not to mention, when I walk in to be helped, I get greeted by an African American teenage girl, who WALKED right up to assist me... Then was asked "how can we help you today?" I replied with the issues addressed (signal was not reaching out well enough, for my Vivint Smarthome to find the garage door controls... I told them how I was suggested (by a Xfinity online chat, with an official representative of Xfinity) to come up here and pick up the 6 pack of pods... I drove all the way to the store, walked in and explained the issues... Then I was quickly interrupted by another xfinity representative, who then stated that I was wrong, the representative was telling me something else that was not company procedure, etc. So... With all things considered... I can barely walk, from an EMG procedure (basically introducing electricity via long thin needle, to nerve ending in my body... And testing for nerve damage...) and was then told that I was not able to purchase the products, and apply balance to the bill (like the representative the night before, on the online chat promised), and have my service actually WORK, post first day customer install... It was RUDE to not be addressed professionally! The xfinity representative then proceeded to tell me that I was unable to be helped, and it was a mistake to come up there thinking that I could get these applied to my bill... I just had a VERY expensive procedure done, to find out why I can't walk properly... And I'm told that I can't be helped, by a representative SITTING IN A CHAIR... Not getting up to help me, or professionally address the customer... ESPECIALLY a DISABLED CUSTOMER, whom JUST had services installed!!! The TOP TIER INTERNET, with ALL the bells and whistles!?!? I'm told that I can't be helped, unless I purchase them outright today... So then (as I'm already embarrassed about asking for it to be applied to my bill), I'm asking to have the technician, to then return to my residence, and remove the hardware he set up, and cancel our service... We have AT&T U-verse... The signal was there, but the speed wasn't... So I'm stuck with Xfinity... And now, without wireless pod system... As I was requesting the technician to return, the rude (comfortably seated, and physically healthy due to her large size) xfinity employee then instructed how I would have to DRIVE BACK TO THE STORE, with said NON WORKING EQUIPMENT with me for return... Wow... I could barely stand... I explained that I was DISABLED, and then was told to come back!?!? Otherwise it's a $70 charge, for technician to uninstall THEIR EQUIPMENT JUST INSTALLED??? And I have to do this??? Disconnect EVERYTHING!?!? I'm DISABLED!?!? I didn't even want to drive there!!! I just had a surgical PROCEDURE YESTERDAY!!! And to top it all off... The young girl who helped me out, that was STANDING and greeted me PROFESSIONALLY... Yeah, she rolled her eyes at me after, and said "We close at Seven..." Yeah... Wow... I'm pissed off, and I can't walk today... Oh! And I'm half a tank of gas less than yesterday, and I'm $150 less financially there, because I had to order the pods online (finally had that option online, as the night before install I couldn't), and I am probably going for 2 days bedrest, due to all the moving around and stress from this visit... I am currently looking for other online providers, and possibly considering legal action for the condition my health is in today... Thank for the $50 credit though Comcast!!! That helped out so much!!! I can now hardly walk, and I am seriously damaged from this... Embarrassing to even shop at that location again... And I shop Eastwood Town Centre MONTHLY... The Xfinity shop located on Cedar Street (next to Panera Bread) is a third party store. This means if you made arrangements to pick up equipment , they will turn you away--they do not do that. Rude representatives as well. You are then sent to East Lansing location. I have filed a complaint against the new third party store--they are representing Xfinity with their company name above their front door AND staff are extremely rude. Unless you are actually purchasing from them. It's a shame, this is a brand new store and less than a mile away from my home--I will never step foot in that place. Think before you decide to stop in--they will not provide or accept equipment. read more

Bottom of the barrel service. Pray you never have to call with an issue. First you will wait 30+ minutes, speak to a customer service agent who can not help, be escalated to another agent who promptly disconnects you... You start the process over, finally receive help, so you thought, the help does not work or never enters the bill correction or flat out gives bad information. I dislike this company and service so much I would rather pay for extra phone data then sign any kind of contract with Comcast. Seriously anything is better, including books...
