VERY VERY SLOW SERVICE, AND NEGATIVE ATTITUDE.. The Xfinity store in Canton, Michigan opens at 10 AM. I arrived at 10:10 AM and was the fourth customer in line. By 11:15 AM, I still hadn't been helped despite being on their list for over an hour. This is the second or third Xfinity box I've had that has failed, so it's already been a frustrating day. At 11:20 AM, the support representative finally called me up to the counter. However, as I was walking up, a woman who had just arrived cut in front of me. The employee chose to assist her first, so I had to sit back down and wait even longer. When I was finally seen, swapping out my modem took less than a minute, but the representative who helped me had an unpleasant attitude. Went to Xfinity store at 23620 Telegraph, Taylor MI on Sunday to try to get a SIM card for my daughters phone which stopped receiving phone calls. I didn't have an appointment but was told there were 2 people ahead of me and it would be 30 min wait. I waited 1.5 hours and was never seen by anyone. We asked 3 times for updates and people with appointments came in and went immediately to the front of the line and each time was told there were 2 people still ahead of us. Total BS. At the end when it became clear we would never be seen we were told to make an appointment. The lady at the front was rude and pretty much lied the whole time and had no consideration for our time. I decided to cancel my mobile account with them and to go with a provider who actually might care about their customers. This is not the first issue with Comcast. While they do have good services particularly with internet their costs and customer support are absolutely terrible and their mobile is the worst. I would not recommend going with them for their mobile services. read more

Shanell , the Store Manager at the Southfield location, made my experience the best ever.. I was coming in to find a screen protector for an old iPhone.. Ms Shanell went in the back and found just what I needed... As well she found the perfect case and it was all on clearance .. I saved so much for " top of the line" supplies... Her personality lit up the entire store as well.. She made all the difference in my visit.. So much so that I called my family to come over to the store if they needed anything.. So this complaint isn't necessarily pointed at this specific location. However, I will tell you right now if you are looking at getting Xfinity for home internet just save your time right now... run away... fast. The customer service for this fortune 500 company is utterly incompetent. While store associates may be fine (they have no control once they sell you the product), the company they work for is a joke. I have had ATT Fiber and other cable provided internet throughout the recent years and none of which has compared to the frustration I have had with dealing with Xfinity. If you love sitting on the phone for hours once (sometimes multiple times) a month with someone who barely speaks English that is overseas just to ask why your bill is double what the contract is listed for then Xfinity is for you. If you want to have a customer service agent tell you that you need to receive a 'free' phone in order for your bill to go back down to the original agreed upon amount only to find out that the phone is not free then Xfinity is for you. If you want your company to start another contract without your knowledge while trying to figure out why your current contract is billed above the agreed upon amount then Xfinity is for you. If you want to wait until the 5th time calling to finally be transferred to someone who is not overseas only for them to tell that you "should've read the contract better" and that's its basically our fault for "trusting Xfinity agents," then Xfinity is for you. It took me 10 hours today to talk to someone who had any decision making power. They had an attitude, ignored what I had to say, and made vague responses to dance around the reality of their cheapskate, terrible company. An outage on my last day of grad school for an expensive class I had worked hard in, on a day I had off work and had paid hundreds for childcare to complete the class. Had I known a few days at least in advance I could have rearranged everything to complete the class the day before. Instead I woke up to no internet. In person, at the Comcast/Xifinity store the employees were a gathering of men who appeared to be stoned out of their minds. In person this company has 2 objectives: collect money or sell things. They use a mocking tone with multiple payrons who were by no means rude or uncompromising and one employee appeared to be so high a large laptop slipped put of his hands and fell onto the floor.  On the phone, the line either rings, goes to music, and then hangs up, or you get someone who can hardly interpret an American accent because they are underpaid in a different country. They also have no decision making power. By the time you get an American, they essentially breezily act like it's no big deal that a service you paid for screwed you over on the one day of the year you needed it the most. They also pull a bunch of sarcastically articulated pretend active listening bs that screams 'I am useless and do not care about you.'  This company will punish you for paying for their service at every opportunity. XFINITY Store by Comcast - Internet Service Providers Near Me

What a surprise. My cable and internet are out again. In the last 2 months it has been regularly going out during peak times of the day. Now, both my boyfriend and I work from home and he often has strict deadlines he has to meet. This constant dropping of service is not working for us. Add to that the fact that for some reason they still have my old Chicago account listed as my primary account even though I have not lived there in 3 years (and have repeatedly asked them to remove that dormant account) and you get one REALLY unhappy Comcast customer. Calling for help is crapshoot. Sometimes you get someone really great and friendly, sometimes you get someone in a call center abroad and you cannot communicate with them. The former times make it bearable. The latter makes you want to tear your hair out. The prices go up every month and I have no idea why as my plan remains the same. I want to call and cancel my Showtime (that came with my package) and add HBO but I'm terrified it's just going to screw everything up further. What a mess. It's just a shame that they have the fastest speeds in terms of Internet in the area. It makes leaving them hard since we're both so dependent on speed and connectivity. Never ever will I do business with this s**ta*s company. Their initial rates lure you in. Not long afterwards they quickly double and then redouble their rates. You get no relief when the I termer is down and you use up expensive megabytes by cell towers instead. And it gets worse. Way worse. I was charged for two cell phone lines for months even though never having more than one. It took me a full year and more than two dozen calls to resolve that. Oh and you can't just call them. First you have to go through a cell phone tree that will throw you off and consume lots of time. Then some crappy connections with Indian representatives that probably mean well but are impotent to help, and in the mean time you're hearing all their cube mates' calls and even babies crying in the background. I also upgraded my cell phone and was supposed to get $600 credit. It has been over a year and many calls without any resolve. This is a completely backward rectal crack company that is basically sustaining itself akin to a Ponzi scheme - keep luring in new customers with low rates and ignore existing customers to death with wait times, incompetence, and utter disregard for the frustration and total cost to all those affected. One day, I am positive, there will be a class action lawsuit against these clowns. It can't come soon enough. so they finally figured out that they charged me 10 dollars in a places where they promised to take off 10 dollars from my bill. The representative agreed to take 20off the next bill to rectify what should have happend in the first place... Comcast just increased my already ridiculous monthly billing rates (for cable and Internet) without telling me. So it was really fun waking up to a higher-than-usual e-mail invoice. They claimed to have sent out mailings announcing the rate hike, but I read all of my mail and haven't seen anything of the sort. XFINITY COMCAST customers beware of your next billing! So we get our January billing and there us a price increase of $12.00. Now, it's not a huge amount, but regardless it is an increase nonetheless. I look through my bill and see my services have not changed. Same limited channels. Same internet speed/usage. I called Comcast Customer Service. Sat on hold for a good length of time to be told "yes, there was a price increase." Of course I know there is a price increase, that is why I am calling. Placed on hold again so my account could be reviewed. Customer services confirms my services have not changed, but yes a price increase. I ask if I am still under my contract, the contract that was to hold my price for 2 years. I am told " Yes, still under contract. Service plan has not changed, but anytime while under contract, Comcast can increase prices for fees and such." The customer service goes on to say that Comcast is sorry, but nothing they can do. I dropped WOW because my internet kept going down and the price kept going up. And yet their customer service was really great. I went with Comcast/Xfinity for phone and internet. Even with Comcast, my internet keeps going down. Another problem is that my gmail is routed to download to my Outlook account. If I open my Outlook at about 7:30/8 a.m., it can take until about noon before I see any new email. When I spoke with them, they told me it wasn't their problem; for me to call Microsoft. As for the internet, I was told it was my modem. They wanted ME to take it to the Xfinity store and return it for a new one. I told them I wanted them to come out and replace it - just like WOW would have done. She decided to mail me a new modem. Let me be clear. Comcast/Xfinity's customer service SUCKS. read more

Where do I Start? I have never seen such poor customer service with Xfinity Mobile! When I'm not speaking to someone in another country( no disrespect intended, bit there are language barriers), I have to deal with reps. who are incompetent, and can't problem solve. On a previous occasion I was incorrectly billed, so from that point onI did not want to store my credit card information in their system. Me being the responsible individual that I am wanted to pay my bill, but I was told that I had to have a credit card on file. I was told that I could not have a bill mailed to me and pay with a check, that I could not make a one time payment unless a card number was stored on file, that I could not set up an auto pay through my bank. On June 16th I tried to pay Comcast Xfinity Bill. I did a quick google search and the number that I called was a fraudulent/scam and they easily hacked into my comcast account and read me my own information so it sounded legit. I gave this person my credit card information under the condition that it was a payment to comcast. It was NOT a payment to comcast it was a fraudulent . The payment was taken out of my account and was NOT reflected on comcasts end due to it being a scammer and the money going to the scam artist not the business I intended it to go to. I filed a dispute with the bank. I needed documentation from comcast that they did not receive this payment. I have literally spent hours of my time speaking to different comcast representatives, Every single person I spoke with I could barley understand. It hard to communicate to someone who does not understand you fully and you cannot understand them. I was given numerous reassurances that they could help me. I waited on hold I put my life on hold all to ask a business that I have been a patronne of for help. They did nothing. They flat out REFUSED to simply email me proof they did not receive this payment. The scam artists have a good thing going on because once you get your money stolen you cant get comcast to help you. They first told me it was a legit payment but that's only because the representative I spoke with could not comprehend and understand my concern. Xfinity actively try's to reroute you in every attempt to actually speak with someone and then when you do they are completely and utterly useless. this company has been ripping me off with constant rate increases and surprise additional charges (such as over data usage...I have unlimited internet. That's what I'm paying for how can you over use unlimited data) and making customer support a nightmare. This whole situation was horrible and comcast made it 100 times worse. read more

I've been loyal to Comcast for eons despite others' reprimands. On the rare occasions that a modem connection or router issue has been un-fixable, I've called Comcast's telephone customer service/technical support. Only then have I seen life from the vantage point of the anti-Comcasters, because the boners who work the phones are worthless. Actually, they're beyond worthless, and border on destructive. Every time I call Comcast, I'm treated to 12 minutes of adds for pay-per-view wrestling, and an automated message which explains that "extremely high call volume" necessitates the long wait. When the Comcast representative finally answers the phone, it only goes downhill. Be prepared for sales pitches for bizarre services that no one could ever, ever use. It's never a faster Internet connection or better box being pushed, but always something like a phone with two mouthpieces or an invisible cord that fits in the nostril. Comcast provides the goods one pays for, but they're a pain to deal with. You should definitely avoid them if you're a "salespeople are nice to me because they want to be my friend" kind of person, since the salespeople are all basically insulting and pushy. read more

This is an edit update of my last review of Comcast. In that review, I said that Comcast does not even deserve one star. I would like to add to that thought in saying that most of the staff I have dealt with at Comcast also don't deserve oxygen. We have been fighting a billing and service problem with Comcast of well over a month now with no resolution and every time we try to get the problem fixed, we find lost premium channels, deactivated cable boxes, unrequested feature changes and the like. Every time I call to get the problem fixed it seems to get worse. I am now working my normal full-time job and am working almost full time resolving Comcast issues. Worse yet, if I call Comcast when I get home from my day job, I am forced to deal with the staff in the Philippines and their English and ability to resolve issues is not particularly good. My latest experience with Comcast was when one of our digital boxes recently failed. We called Comcast to get a service technician to replace the box. The tech called me before he came and I reminded him that we needed a small High Definition box. When the tech arrived it was a different person because Comcast rerouted the fellow that was supposed to come to our house. I was not at home when he got there. That tech installed a large DVR based box instead. I am told that he mumbled something about not having time to go to the depot to put in the correct box. So now we have a scheduled appointment in almost a week. The DVR box doesn't work. Comcast pitches customer service and all kinds of guarantees when you are stuck on perpetual hold. As far as I can determine, Comcast has no idea what customer service really is. It is sad. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why can't we have a rating with no stars? Comcast doesn't even deserve one star. I am now thinking that it is time to just go into the unknown and try satellite service. Comcast has a monopoly where I live and they act like it too. But if I can find a decent satellite provider, then Comcast has to go. Why am I ranting about this company? Let me tell you. First of all, customer service is a phrase they must teach a t Comcast school. But as an actual customer, I have not witnessed any real customer service. They are polite on the telephone and every robotic prerecorded announcement includes the catch phrase; "Thank you for Choosing Comcast." But of course we haven't chosen Comcast. Comcast made a deal to have a local monopoly and we have no real choice. When my cable goes down, and it is often, it typically takes them a few days to get around to servicing me. That is not customer service. That is customer neglect in my opinion. And when you call them (1 800 COMCAST), they have absolutely no idea what is going on. You report that the TVs in your home are not working and they check and say that there are no outages in your area. But when you try to improve an appointment schedule, you find out that they do know that there is a general outage and it is acknowledged. Often, by the time they get around to coming out to rectify the problem, it was resolved days before. One had does not seem to know what the other hand is doing. The service people that do come to fix the problem fall into two categories. The first are contractors that hate Comcast even more than the customers do. They come ill-equipped, lacking the basic tools to resolve the problem. They can try laying new cables and digging up your lawn, or replacing cables inside your house, but since they often do not even have meters to measure the signals, they cannot determine if it is a domicile based problem or a general system failure. The second group of service people are real Comcast employees. They sometimes have meters with them and sometimes not. IF you ask them why you waited several days and took time off from work to have them not be able to properly diagnose issues, they are embarrassed. I feel sorry for them too. How would you like to work for and represent a company that is so out of control? Then there is the billing. I find lots of billing errors. A few months ago, I was billed for extra TVs that I did not have. I called Comcast and "discussed" this with them. The problem eventually got resolved, but I wonder if Comcast over-billed me on purpose, and whether they do this to lots of folks thinking that most people won't ever notice. Finally there is the price. The prices keep escalating as if there is no limit to what customers will be able to pay. If you complain about the costs, they put you on a short term fix, which when it times out, puts you back into the inflation zone again soon after. I wish we had some form of competition. To my mind, this is the only way to level the playing field. Until then, "Thank you for choosing Comcast!" read more

These employees are not educated at all about their products and services. I had to come to this location twice. I would give negative stars if I could. We scheduled installation and received a window from 10am-2pm. That time came and went, no call.... nothing. WE CALLED and were told the tech was running late, but would be there between 2-4. Same thing happened. Next time we were assured a tech would be there by 6. No call, no show. We called Monday to see what gives and not only was there zero explanation, the other was completely wrong to begin with. We're not even connected yet and the service sucks. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. We're stuck with Comcast as no one else provides Internet in our area. Unfortunately, Comcast knows this. Our service is usually interrupted 2 to 3 times a month for up to 24 hours. Customer service agents are absolutely rude. They don't even try to exercise any politeness. The first time we had an issue with Comcast in this area, (before I knew they were the only provider in the area), our Internet went out as a result of a faulty modem. The modem was only a month old. After running me through a few troubleshooting methods with no success, the customer rep simply says, "Well it looks like you're just gonna have to wait until we can get a technician out there." The next available appointment was over a week away. I told him very politely that I needed Internet sooner than that for business purposes and I would most likely find another provider in the meantime and drop Comcast. He laughed and said, "If you think you can find another provider in that area, go right ahead." Seriously. He said that. He was right too. There are no other providers in the area. So here we are, still stuck with WAY over priced Comcast Internet that still quits on us regularly. read more

The guy in the store went the extra 250 yards to try to figure out why my self-install wasn't working, and he was getting little help from Comcast when he called some number the store people use to get help. On top of that, the Comcast guy the store guy got me on the phone with was friendly as all get out but didn't do what he said he would do. Worst Customer Service in History! The Internet videos don't lie. I used to work in a call center and if I even remotely talked to me the way their employees did/do I would have been fired on the spot! We switched to them from WOW, who by the way has excellent customer service because of a special promo. BIG MISTAKE. A few days later I am sad to say we called WOW back but the price I was getting before was no longer available. The promo said $49/month for 25 mbytes Internet, free HBO and a DVR. My first bill said $97, so I called and got hung up on, insulted and lied to over and over. Now they emailed my new bill and it says I owe $249. Again we called back and got hung up on insulted, put on hold for hours. It really burns me but I am going have to switch back to WOW and pay a higher price for the same thing I was getting before. Billing issues don't even begin to cover my problems with Comcast. We watch most of our shows and movies on Roku. We had no problem with WOW so weren't concerned about it. Again big mistake. Can't use HboGo any more, can't get Lifetime, the History Channel, Showtime and a few others on Roku because Comcast has chosen to block access to them. So much for Net Neutrality. The install job was equally bad. I had added some pictures to illustrate. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE customer service. Signed on with xfinity with one rate changed it to a MUCH higher rate, charge me for something I do NOT use and refuse to remove it from my bill. Told me I am under contract and they will charge me if I cancel my service but they can CHANGE my service by taking away ALL but 40 channels and save me a WHOPPING $33 a month!! Seriously? Comcast is (for a lack of a better word - one I won't use on here) terrible. I honestly feel like they have a monopoly considering AT&T is just getting into the game. The customer service department is pretty terrible. And can someone please justify why they can charge you a month in advance before you use the service.
