And if you look at him long enough you might mistake him for Justin Timberlake (He's been told this btw). He is so friendly and he's pretty good at remembering who you are so you don't feel like you're going to become just another patient in the crowd. His office is located a block away from Grand Central Station so it's pretty easy to get to him. The check in process was a bit confusing to me. I entered one office to check in and the was told to go to another office where I was being expected. When I walked into that office, they had no idea who I was and I had to repeat the process of answering check in question all over again. If Dr. Wolff schedules you for a procedure, it will likely be downtown at Liberty Endoscopy. His staff there is very efficient and on the ball with time management. After prep, Dr. Wolff comes in for a short but sincere chat on what will be happening, how you're feeling, and time to give answers to any questions you might have. The next time you see him, it will be in the OR and he explains everything to you again as well as make sure you are okay. I love that he is so genuine putting his patients first. He or his anesthesiologist will guide you into lullaby land as you drift off to oblivion. And then you wake up to find that everything is done. The Doc comes back to discuss his findings with you after you've had time to shake off the sleepiness. My Gastroenterologist is better than yours...lol.

He knew my medical history even the first time I went..... because he cares. I did my colonoscopy and endoscopy with courage, only because I knew that this doctor is very reliable. I highly recommend him to everyone. Expert in his field definitely. His office is very clean, and the people working there only reflect on the doctor. Aline R.

Don't expect any assistance from his office in navigating the difficult and confusing world of the medical and insurance sphere. He didn't take coverage that less-fortunate people might be more likely to possess for as long as I can remember, and recently, he stopped taking what many older and retired people rely on. Considering this, how he actually has more than a handful of patients is a mystery. I guess there are a enough old rich folks falling for his palaver to keep it afloat. Although he himself might seem personable, his office must truly be a reflection of him and his inner character. His practice kept hounding me for a small copay bill during the covid pandemic, for a procedure done years before, when I could have been already been sick and dead. You can not expect to get a call back from him personally regarding medical questions, and his staff is liable to hang up on you. If he spends lots of time with patients, that's news to me, as I felt rushed at the end of the visit, ushered away to make room for people with far deeper pockets. After a while, one might come to the realization that his practice only cares about convenience for him and money. Typical. I haven't been to him in years and don't miss the experience, including the 2.5 hour waits, at all. Atrocious and unprofessional, and definitely not worth the overpaying you'll wind up doing for overpriced and unnecessary testing. Maybe his son will be better when he inevitably takes over the practice, but I'm not holding my breath.

I've seen Dr. Bosworth (and his PA, Selene) and Dr. Jacob and they are both outstanding (and articulate) physicians with true interest and expertise in IBD. If you like a laid-back personality and communication style, go for Dr. Bosworth and if you want an earnest personality, offering explanation and detail so you can follow the doc's thought processes, go for Dr. Jacob. Dr. Jacob is my primary and she's truly wonderful and responds almost immediately to phone calls, etc. when she can. Her style makes me confident in my understanding of the disease and therefor my ability take responsibility for my health and my care. I've also seen Dr. Raykher, an MD offering nutritional counseling. I only went to her once because I'm not really sure what I get out of nutrition advice.

I rarely spend less than 5 minutes on hold when trying to reach the office via phone and several times have had to wait upwards of 25 minutes. Today I called twice (once in the morning and once in the afternoon) to book an emergency appointment. Both times I was informed that someone would return my call shortly. Unsurprisingly, nobody ever called me back. I managed to book my appointment by showing up and asking in person. The process took about 90 seconds. It's unfathomable to me why those same 90 seconds couldn't have been spent returning my phone call and sparing me a trip all the way up to 70th and York. This is hardly the first time they failed to return my call. The last time I went to the office for an appointment, I overheard two of the receptionists literally making fun of a foreign-accented patient who had come in asking for a consultation. In hindsight, that really should have been the last straw. After today's drama, I'm searching for a new gastroenterologist. Long story short: the doctors are great, the reception staff is either lazy or just plain sadistic. I still haven't decided.
