From the second I called to place my order, I was immediately given a really foul attitude. The man on the phone sounded like he did not want to work, spoke in an annoyed voice and hung up before I could even ask for a wait time or a total for what I wanted. When I went to go pick up my food, the lady at the counter also had a really nasty attitude. She was very adamant about me using my card to pay and kept making silent comments to herself. I couldn't wait to just grab my food and get out of there. The food wasn't even that good either to be honest. The chicken was fine, but the rice had a really unpleasant aftertaste. Boneless Spare Ribs had a nice glaze, not too sweet and just sticky enough. Chicken Lomein was good, not too salty, the noodles were not too soggy/ overcooked. Found this local Chinese spot and decided to check it out. I ordered sesame chicken with white rice, crab rangoon, and my friend ordered chicken and broccoli with white rice. I usually lower my expectations when it comes to Chinese restaurants, but this place surprised me. I'm something of a sesame chicken connoisseur lol, I've had it at high end and lower end Chinese restaurants. And this place hit it out of the park! The sesame chicken was crunchy, juicy, savory and sweet; and it wasn't drowning in excess gloopy sauce. My friend really enjoyed his chicken and broccoli. The crab rangoon were pretty good, it came with what seems like sweet and sour sauce on the side. The only downside was I wish the rangoons had more filling in each one. Have tried a couple places since moving to Jersey and this is not only the most flavorful but the most consistent. It's my go-to spot for the classic americanized Chinese food, general tso chicken, hot & sour soup, chicken wings & French fries, etc etc. It's a Chinese food spot; I'm not expecting 2 star Michelin star rated service, owner recommended wine pairings. Union City has some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. However, I've found Xin Lin to be not only the best (because that wouldn't be saying much), but actually very good. I especially love their Singapore Mei Fun, the Moo Shu Pork and the steamed pork dumplings and I've found those to be consistently good. Interestingly, I recently compared Xin Lin's Moo Shu Pork with the Moo Shu Pork served at NYC's famous Joe's Shanghai, and I found Xin Lin's to be far better. I love this place! They're Boneless BBQ Spare Ribs are awesome and they make the best steamed dumplings in town. On top of that, their delivery is quite fast; you may be inclined to tip their driver a bit more for his haste. Came here to get take out Saturday night. There weren't too many people so we didn't have to wait long (most of their business comes from delivery or take out orders). The owner was super nice and friendly I got the boneless spare ribs with a side of brown rice. The food came out very quickly and the ribs were delicious. I've gotten the same dish at other Chinese take out places and they would be too hard and tough to chew, or drenched in oil and have a lot of fatty pieces. Best Chinese in union city! Received the order quickly! Had the wonton soup, beef and broccoli and chicken wings. All were delicious!

We order from this place every now and then and my favorite dish (General Tso chicken white meat) is just really bad. It's almost as if they've chopped up lots of white meat and connective tissue and battered the meat together in clumps. Really the texture of it is bad and the chicken is very low grade meat. That said the rest of my house likes the food (albeit mostly children) and I think their other plates are more palatable than their General Tso chicken but none of their dishes are better than mediocre which is a shame because I live down the street and this restaurant is a very good location. read more

decided to try this place because it had good reviews here but i was very disappointed. The fried rice was hard and oily. It also was darker color than other places... maybe it was cooked for hours. The garlic sauce for the broccoli was over seasoned and did not taste good. Sweet and sour chicken was okay but some were over cooked so it made the batter super hard. Delivery took about an hour. Price was $20 for two small egg fried rice, small broccili w garlic sauce and one order of pfr with sweet and sour chicken. I will Not be ordering from here again. read more

I been living in Weehawken over 5 years now and I've notice that when the woman is at the counter she is rude and racist toward African Americans. I watched as she interacts with other races and their shown the upmost respect. I placed an order for four wings and ordered of shrimp and broccoli total 14 bucks (8.50 SB, 5.50 wings) during the storm so I walk over to this location to pick up my order was an it was incorrect. They had given me pork fried rice instead of white with my shrimp and broccoli this made the woman angry as if I did something. The woman took the food with her back turned and took the shrimp and broccoli out and placed it into another tray with where rice. When I ask the price she told me 14 but the price on the regular menu was 6.50 with white rice. I asked her to change it back if she was going to charge me which she became rude again changed it and came around the counter and dropped my food on a table. If I hadn't paid In cash I would of left the food there and they over charged me. read more

The rice is very good and all the ingredients taste fresh. They make everything fresh to order. The egg rolls are ok. The crab rangoons are good but could use more filling. The fried stuff is fried well... not very greasy and cooked at the right temperature. They need better hot mustard and sweet and sour sauce. The packet stuff doesn't cut it. It's reasonably priced and descent food for takeout. Dine-in isn't really an option with the plastic chairs and yard sale tables.
