The walls are so thin you can hear the therapist with a person in the next room. Second, My neck actually hurts more afterwards because I was on a flat table simply with a hole cut in it, not a true massage table with round part for your face at the front that can be maneuvered. Third, the table was covered with some sort of sheet that smelled oddly like someone's perfume, so I questioned the entire time when it had last been washed. Really recommend you plan a bit better than I did, go to one of the other many better salons and spend the extra $7.

Finally scheduled a massage with Carol a few weeks ago...and have gone back two more times since and will continue to go as long as I can afford to do so. I am a certified reflexologist and have spent hours giving sessions and also many many hours receiving massage and the like...hands down, these sessions have been at the top of the list! Carol's office is cozy and clean. She uses a warm table, towels and heating pads along with oils and essentials that don't leave the skin greasy or weird. The massage itself is always perfect with the right amount of pressure in effleurage, kneading and pressure points. She checks in beforehand to see how she can help and if I still want the same pressure. Friends commented the day after my first massage and could see the improvement in my body and energy. Sounds cheesy but I can feel how much she enjoys what she does - massage is definitely one of her callings! Parking is limited in the front of the building, but more spaces are down in the driveway to the right of it.

I have trigger points and very tense muscles in my upper back and shoulders. Though I generally enjoy a more therapeutic massage using deep tissue and myofascial release techniques, this was the most relaxing massage I've ever had - to where I actually fell asleep. Cici was very receptive to my requests for more pressure where it was needed. I do, in retrospect, wish she'd placed a bit more focus on my trigger points, but that was my fault for not specifying. Again, she is very receptive and easy to talk to - I'm sure that if I'd asked, she would have elbowed tf out of my stubborn knots. The building is small, right next to the nail salon in the Unity Shopping Center - small but clean. The room was lit dimly and relaxing instrumental music played. Cici used unscented oil, and then used a hot towel to remove it so my shirt would not be stained. I was provided with a bottle of water at the end of the session, and left feeling like I had some blood flow in my shoulder blades again. For a massage that's not specifically marketed towards pain relief, I'd give it a 6/10 for relieving pain. For relaxing and winding down, I'd give an 11/10. TLDR: if you need to relax a bit, this is the place. If you have mild or moderate muscle tension and pain, this is the place. If your back is a minefield, you'll get relief but perhaps not as much as a chiropractor with a massage gun.

It was easy to call and schedule an appointment and they have long hours (they don't close until 10) which makes it a convenient option. I had a basic swedish massage, but she did use hot stones at one point during the massage. The only issue here is a language barrier. I could convey basic information, but there was a struggle if I wanted to request certain areas unless I pointed. We worked through it and overall I had a relaxing massage that made me feel better. Prices are on par with other similar massage places (much lower than at salons and spas) and definitely check for coupons and groupons. They have add on options like essential oils, but they don't pressure you to do any add ons. The room was extremely clean and as soon as I left the room someone was in there cleaning/sterilizing it. Overall, not a bad place for a fairly inexpensive massage.
