RUDE. This salon was recommended to me by two friends who found them on Groupon. I purchased the…read moredeal for a cut, color, and style. A few days after purchasing it, I needed a last-minute blowout for an event and couldn't get in with my usual salon. I called Salon JM and tried to make an appointment to use the voucher the following day. They couldn't accommodate me for the cut and color portion, but only had time for a blowout. I asked if making this appointment would prevent me from using the Groupon at a later date (since the fine print said it was for new customers). I was told it was fine, since I had purchased the Groupon as a new customer, and I was going for a different service. I reconfirmed this in person when I went for the blowout. Imagine my surprise when I called back a couple weeks later to make an appointment for the deal and was told they would not honor it. Again, I explained that I WAS a new customer when the deal was purchased, and the only reason I had gone for just a blowout before redeeming the deal was because I couldn't get an appointment for the whole thing. They weren't even open to using the amount of the voucher towards the full price of the service - I would have been fine with that! Instead, I was told to deal with Groupon, and then they hung up on me. They didn't even ask if I wanted to proceed without the deal! It's a shame because they did a nice job with the blowout, but I would absolutely not go back here. Clearly they aren't interested in the business. There are enough salons in this area - I don't need to deal with one that's rude and sketchy.

I asked for subtle balayage there, got bright blonde highlights, and was not offered or given a refund. The owner at the other salon fixed it, but the result lasted for about 2-3 weeks... and I was left with bright blonde highlights again. A few friend recommended Haru to me. I was given an appointment with Hadley. Immediately, I LOVED her! Hadley is friendly, warm, and completely understanding about hair. As someone who is self-admittedly fussy, Hadley listened to me and made sure she understood exactly what I wanted. Since then, I've been to Hadley MANY times and she's brought me from balayage to my natural brunette, cuts from shoulder length to halfway down my back, and dealt with my particularness about my bangs. Hadley is super talented and has a wonderful, bubbly personality. I love talking to everyone at the front desk as well, and really enjoy my time there! Additionally, I brought my boyfriend to Haru for a men's cut. He was styled by Sylvie, and she was also WONDERFUL! Best haircut he's ever had :) Next up I want to try the facials!

I take medications that have thinned out my hair and although I tried to explain that I had a bad color from another salon I used the as she put it again "crap" I used to cover up my awful color. I have no idea how this awful woman gets good reviews. I was treated this way as I was making an appointment before I left. That's when her awful comments came out in front of the two young women at the receptionist area. They said something to her but she just said "well I tell it like it is". Needless to say I phoned the salon and cancelled the appointment. So the point is unless you have a perfect head of hair, don't go to Mary.

It's new, you feel lighter, prettier. Someone washed and blow dried and Styled your hair. But then YOU do it and hope for the same results.
