RUDE. This salon was recommended to me by two friends who found them on Groupon. I purchased the deal for a cut, color, and style. A few days after purchasing it, I needed a last-minute blowout for an event and couldn't get in with my usual salon. I called Salon JM and tried to make an appointment to use the voucher the following day. They couldn't accommodate me for the cut and color portion, but only had time for a blowout. I asked if making this appointment would prevent me from using the Groupon at a later date (since the fine print said it was for new customers). I was told it was fine, since I had purchased the Groupon as a new customer, and I was going for a different service. I reconfirmed this in person when I went for the blowout. Imagine my surprise when I called back a couple weeks later to make an appointment for the deal and was told they would not honor it. Again, I explained that I WAS a new customer when the deal was purchased, and the only reason I had gone for just a blowout before redeeming the deal was because I couldn't get an appointment for the whole thing. They weren't even open to using the amount of the voucher towards the full price of the service - I would have been fine with that! Instead, I was told to deal with Groupon, and then they hung up on me. They didn't even ask if I wanted to proceed without the deal! It's a shame because they did a nice job with the blowout, but I would absolutely not go back here. Clearly they aren't interested in the business. There are enough salons in this area - I don't need to deal with one that's rude and sketchy. read more

Clean with a great atmosphere. Staff is friendly - should be easy enough to find 'your favorite stylist'. Rae is mine she rocks!!! Downside - can't add tips at the register, cash or venmo only. I guess venmo is easy enough and the way the world is going. Unfortunately can't seem to get appointments for a simple men's haircut without a level of notice. This forced me to try somewhere else, so I went to Gentleman Jack's Barbershop - Just down the road on Main Street in Ramsey. I found a new barber today. read more

Marlyen started doing my hair 10 years ago and even now, as I live in CA, I still went to her for a simple updo when I was in NJ. I wouldn't go anywhere else in that area. She did a great job and quite a few people at the party complimented me on my hair. She also straightens my sisters crazy curly hair and it looks amazing! The Salon she works in is great. They take me on a short notice for the most part when I'm in a crunch but please always make an appointment out of respect. They're closed on Sunday and Mondays. I'm looking for a new salon, so based on Yelp reviews I bought a Groupon for a cut, single process color & blow out for 50% off. My stylist was Jillian, and she was very personable and professional. She listened to what I wanted, made suggestions, and gave me an excellent color and cut. The salon itself is spacious and clean, although heads up, it is a bit hard to find, as it is in the same complex as Odyssey Fitness. I highly recommend the salon and Jillian specifically. read more

The Owner doesn't deserve to even have a salon with the way she treats people . I was given a Groupon as a Gift from a family member and this place always said they were fully booked . They waited until the Groupon expired and then said if I want to get their services I would have to pay $100 more . & I tried to work out a deal with them like you don't even have to give me a haircut and blowdry you can just color it or partial highlights and they said NO! I tried so hard to reason with them and explain everything every phone call they left me in tears and I it's sad that the Owner is running this Salon with how RUDE and Cruel she is . When I told her that I want to look and and feel good with how my hair looks like have some confidence and don't I deserve that just like anyone else and she straight up said "NO!" and she literally said she would NEVER DO THAT FOR ME ! I recently had my hair highlighted and cut by Jillian and I can't say enough about what a great job she did! My mother recommended her to me so I already somewhat knew what to expect, but she definitely went above and beyond and her work exceeded my expectations. Jillian carefully highlighted my hair, which took over 1.5 hours just to put foils in, and didn't rush in the slightest. She then cut my hair exactly as I asked her to and gave me some beautiful curls, which I normally wouldn't do but LOVED. I liked Jillian's work so much I already booked my touch up and some blow outs for events I have. The salon is clean, the employees are friendly and the price point is pretty average for the area. My almost-14 year old daughter just had her hair cut by Jillian today on a Groupon, and I wanted to write a review ASAP because we are so, so happy with her cut! We walked in a little at odds over what was going to be done with her very long hair (my daughter wanted boy-short and I wanted her to stay a little feminine). Jillian was very, very patient with all the indecision and I didn't want my daughter to feel pressured to get something she didn't want, yet I thought a boy cut on her wouldn't be flattering and she'd ultimately be unhappy, as much as she thought she'd like it. Jillian and another worker there (I'm sorry I don't know her name) were encouraging and suggestive as far as helping her understand what would flatter her. In the end, she got an absolutely adorable asymmetrical cut that not only looks wonderful on her, but it also fits her (kind of emo) style and she absolutely LOVES it!!! I don't even think she expressed to Jillian how happy she was while we were there, but she can't stop talking about it and sending pics to her friends. We were impressed with the entire salon, the wonderful cut, and the amazing talent and customer service by Jillian. Don't hesitate to give them a try!! I was looking for a new salon since my old salon was just to far and hard to make an appointment. I searched Groupon and found Salon JM. Making my appointment they were very friendly and I was able to get the date and time I wanted! Jill did a consultation with me for highlights and after I explained what I wanted she gave me her suggestion. I took it and my hair came out great. The women in the salon were very friendly and they now have a new loyal customer! The other thing I loved is Jill was able to recommend me a product they didn't sell. So they aren't just pushing products for the sake of making money, its what would be best for their client which is the most important. read more

I didn't have to wait more than a few minutes. Jillian did a great job with my haircut. I was a little nervous since I get a short haircut and if it's not right it takes months to grow out but she put me at ease and checked with me to make sure I was happy. I received a gift of a Groupon for this place. I made an appointment and when I got there they asked if I had every been there before. I told them I was not sure and gave them my name and they said I had over a year ago. They refused to let me use it. I spoke with the manager and explained that I had received it as a gift, but she did not care. I asked why I was not told when I made the appointment, and she had no good answer. I would think that a reputable company would have made an exception or at least offered a discount, but she did not seem to care. I will not recommend this place. read more

I moved to Waldwick and wanted to find a good hair salon. I'm super picky about my hair and more times than not I leave unsatisfied. As per other reviews I wanted to see Jillian and was able to get appointment with her at the last minute. I went in slightly unsure of what direction I wanted to go in with hair color. Jillian was very patient with me and helped me decide what would work best. My color is excellent and the long layers were cut beautifully. Then Annalyse gave me a fabulous blow out. I have been highlighting my hair for fifteen years, and after just one appointment with Jillian, it was as if she new exactly what I wanted despite an admittedly brief, amateur explanation of what I liked. My roots were heavily grown in as a product of a busy and hectic schedule, and she not only filled them in beautifully, but so naturally! The turnout is gorgeous! A warm, rich blonde that did not need a few days to "tone down". It was perfect from the first glance after a fresh cut and a voluminous blow out. I just came back from Salon JM. Julie did my hair. She was very professional and not too chatty. Which is fine with me. I had full color, partial highlights, cut and blow dry. She fixed a bio-lodge (sp?) that was done at another salon and put in very dainty highlights that just melted beautifully into my natural color..minus the grays, which are now all covered up! She conditioned and glossed my hair too. It feels wonderful. I had a groupon as well. Salon a bit off beaten path but found it.
