I…read morelive only A MILE AWAY, and these robbers charged me 85 dollars, cash only, which I was only too lucky to have on me; 85 dollars for a 2 mile round trip for them. Outrageous! They didn't even give me a price quote over the phone. When I called them the next day to complain, the owner literally laughed at me over the phone because I said that a jumpstart should cost a lot less than 85 bucks..the audacity of that guy!! After mentioning to him that his prices are highway robbery and in bad faith, especially in a small town, and with the bad economy, and the short distance of the ride, he told me he didn't care..not at all while he continued to laugh like a hyena over the phone. Can you believe that?! So, I drove over there to his place and had it out with him. At first, he actually had the same crappy attitude as he did on the phone with this blank, careless and cavalier look on his face; no consideration or gratefulness in having customers give him a living. It was absolutely SHOCKING to witness in my 54 years of living! He looked even proud about his attitude which showed me that he gets away with this behavior only because HE CAN...because he knows there are few places in this small town to get towing services, so he shamefully takes advantage of people. Whatever happened to the brotherhood of man? Anyway, I stood up to him and told him in my New Jersey way that he was greedy, flippant in his attitude and practicing in bad faith. When I told him he shouldn't laugh at a customer, he said he didn't care, as if he was doing auto work just for the fun of it and not robbing people blind. I did not roll over and take his crap though. After trying to knock some sense and reason into this guy's head, he finally relented and apologized for laughing, though it came off condescending as he mentioned I should look up the prices for jump starting a car, implying that they all cost around 85 dollars. It took me not even a minute to find another place that charges 50 bucks for the same service. Folks, do not even think of going to Stew's. That guy will steal you silly and have a smile on his face while doing it. STAY AWAY FROM STEW'S AT ALL COSTS!

That's not the point of this post though. But I needed to say it aloud to make my future steps easier to stomach. Anyway so yeah yesterday at Costco the clutch pedal was depressed. Like I had to "flip" it up to engage the gears. I figured this was the swan song but I rolled the dice with some errands I had to do today. Chile I went to get my mama a Diet Coke and the clutch got real spongy. Thankfully I was in the Kmart lot - thought I could run it the last 1.5 miles home but Bonnie Blue (don't @me. I love GWTW) gave it all she had in the middle of JFK. Which was nothing. Ahem. I called a couple of tow companies (either no drivers, too far, or like the last place said "Maam call the cops you're in the middle of traffic." lmaaoooo So I called them - they were on scene within minutes and the company they called happened to have a driver posted up in the same Kmart lot I was in just minutes before. Mind you this was also the first place I called who told me they had no drivers available ::EYEBROWS RAISED EXTREMELY HIGH:: but I guess it all worked out in the end. The tow operator was friendly, amiable and efficient. Towed it back to my house where it will sit before I decide to fix it or slide into something more comfortable (a Porsche 911). Cost me $131 for the tow to my house. Which frankly was cheaper than I thought and just shy of the renewal fee for my lapsed AAA. AND WHAT DID WE LEARN TODAY CLASS?? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Renew your AAA. And if you don't then call A&G.

Thank God I was not hurt. I have free towing with AAA and this company is who AAA sent. I was so surprised when the same tow truck driver who towed me five years ago arrived. He was working for a different company back then and I left him a five star review then too. That was when I got this same Toyota Prius stuck in the mud trying to go off-roading, which in a Prius, is ill-advised. Alec remembered that tow and we had a lively chat as he towed me home this time. He really is a sweetheart and his banter cheered me up. I brought my vehicle in for an oil change. I had scheduled this appointment and given my…read moreinformation two days before. The guy at the desk said okay, I'll give you a call when it's done. Three hours late I go back due to receiving no phone call. Same guy says it's done. He charges me for the oil change and, i would later find, windshield wiper fluid I did not ask for. This is the second time he's done this, but I let it go. As he hands me the keys he mentions "Your breaks should be good for another few oil changes." I think it's a bit odd for him to mention the breaks. I take the keys and drive less than a mile away. He also tried to "fix" my license plate. The top left screw is stuck, and me nor any of my other friends could get it out for fear of breaking the actual car plastic. I had my plate secured by a screw on the right corner, slightly askew. Tight enough to hold it in place and not move. The guy who worked on my car had bent the license plate over the top left screw and secured it with one opposite to the one I had holding it. As it appears he could not get it out either. I did not ask for this. I can see he was trying to help, I would have rathered he left it be or ask than to bend the plate over the screw. The next time I restarted my car the brake light is on. I check the fluid, it is fine. I call ahead of time and schedule them to be looked at. The car was brought in. I detailed "Brake light on after being seen for just an oil change Just brake light, flashing continuously, no instances where it stops. I can feel it working though when engaged and disengaged. Would like a refund on wiper fluid" He popped the hood and checked the fluid. He was told it was just in for just an oil change. He took out a scanner and scanned the codes. When asked what they were he ignored the request. He checked around the car and got on the ground on the back driver side to look at the breaks for about three minutes. He went back to the hood, cleared the codes. He says "Hey I just cleared the code, if it pops back up bring it back into the shop. The only thing I can think of is it being the break actuators, however it could just be the computer being weird." When asked for the code again there was no response. When mentioning the refund for the wiper fluid as just an oil change was requested he says "this was nothing we did, it's the cars fault due to its computer." "over three dollars?" and "This is fVcK3d up." He then gave cash and stormed in. Two days later my brake light is back on.

Eventually, it was replaced, but it took an entire month. Now, I have multiple warning lights on the dashboard and the car has been stalling. When I brought it back, I was told they would not fix it because I do not have a long-term warranty. Before purchasing the vehicle, I specifically expressed concerns about buying an older used car. The salesman, Marvin, assured me he "had my back" and not to worry if anything came up. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. The owner recently called and told me I would have to pay full price to repair the vehicle. This has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend doing business here. If you'd like, I can also make a shorter, more direct version for Google reviews or a stronger version that applies more pressure while still staying professional.
