ER Visit on 09- 29- 2025 I had to take my 93 year old mother…read morethere after she choked on something at the adult daycare center and had to have the Heimlich maneuver performed on her. We took her immediately to the hospital. We arrived at around 2:30 pm. She was triaged fairly quickly and told that beds were full and that they would get to us as soon as possible. During our time there one person passed out, they were taken back fairly fast, as I guess they didn't want to keep cleaning up her puke from the floor again. The second person was losing consciousness and about to pass out and throwing up in the bag, but when her friend just tried to ask how long they would be was told just to sit down and they'll be with them shortly. This all escalated as another guest basically told the guy to sit down shut up and wait his turn then another guest defended this lady after the guy told her to politely mind her own business. Which caused the security guard to come out.  All the while it's 1 hour, then 2 hours , then 3 hours while my mom is still unseen sitting in that waiting room.  Getting cold and finally telling me she wanted to leave. I gave up and told the receptionist that we wanted to leave but she tried to say she would get us back soon but a nurse in maroon scrubs said no don't guarantee her that cause if someone else is sicker then her they will go in first before her. So I signed waiver an left. Shame on you SMC. You need to do better,  you basically were saying that a 93 year old woman who earlier was choking was not a concern of any kind. Is it gonna take someone passing on the waiting room floor for someone to wake up. Plus with the pandamonium and drama with the guests and patients there. It was a horrible experience.  .

From the physicians, to the nurses, and the respiratory therapist he could not have received better care at a larger hospital. I highly recommend this hospital if your family member is ill and in Stillwater..

Very amazed by the entitlement of one of the employees here. Never did catch her name. My boyfriend…read morewas feeling very ill. He doesn't get home until 7:00pm and most urgent cares close at 8:00pm. So we immediately went to the nearest one, which was this location, and arrived roughly at 7:10pm. As soon as we walk in, who I am assuming is the receptionist, is standing in the lobby and whips around and looks completely confused as to why we are there. I then asked if they were still open, and she goes to say "well yeah, until 7:30, have we seen you before?" I go "well if it's too late we can go somewhere else, but no you haven't seen us before" she goes on to walk into the back behind the counter obviously annoyed and slamming the door behind her. I then brought up once again if we need to go somewhere else we would. She then goes "well it's just like, I have an hour drive home" as if that is supposed to be my problem? If you cannot have any sympathy for someone who is not feeling well, don't work in healthcare. We happily went somewhere else, and they have taken great care of my boyfriend. I will never come back here. So sad to see how many bad apples are in the healthcare field nowadays.....

Immediate Care - Edmond: A Terrible Experience from Start to Finish…read moreI went in for a simple blood draw, something that should take ten minutes or less. What I experienced instead was a display of inexperience, confusion, and blatant lack of supervision. The staffer assigned to me was visibly nervous from the start. She left the room multiple times -- first because she forgot something, then again after failing to get the blood from my right arm. When she returned with another staff member, things somehow got even worse. He appeared just as unsure and uncomfortable with the procedure as she did. They prodded, hesitated, and whispered like this was some advanced operation instead of Basic Phlebotomy 101. After two failed attempts--one in each arm--and no successful draw, the male staffer finally said, "Do you want me to write you an order for a DLO?" I agreed, expecting at least prompt follow‑through. But instead, both of them left the room, and fifteen minutes later, I was still sitting there bleeding and waiting, with no update, no apology, and no sense of accountability. Eventually, I walked out--angry, frustrated, and honestly concerned for anyone else trusting this place with their care. This was pure inefficiency and a failure of training from the top down. A supervisor was nowhere to be found. And hearing the staffer mention she wanted to become a physician was almost alarming--because if you can't perform a basic blood draw, what business do you have practicing medicine? Immediate Care - Edmond needs serious retraining, oversight, and management attention. Patients deserve professionalism, not a chaotic guessing game with needles.
