I was a customer here for years for the massages. Anthony's massages were wonderful and kept me coming back. However, my experience with the laser treatments has left me feeling like I deserve a refund, or at least a partial one. I signed up for a package to remove some unwanted hair and dark spots. I was NOT told that the treatment would not work on light or gray colored hairs (which any knowledgeable practitioner should make clear, and even worse, I vaguely recall having asked about it knowing that other types of lasers did not work on lighter pigmented hair and being assured that the treatments would work for me, only later to be told when I had no results that they would not work on lighter hairs). Even worse, it turned out that they also did not work on the very dark hairs I wanted gone, even after signing up for two packages after being led to believe that I just needed more treatments to complete the job. As for the dark spots, there was minimal difference, certainly not worth the thousands of dollars that I feel I was swindled into paying with the expectation that one more treatment package would take care of everything. After that big disappointment, I consulted with a dermatologist (which I should have done in the first place) and was given a topical treatment that has completely removed several of the dark spots and has already greatly diminished the worst ones. For $170, I have achieved incredible results, and I suspect I will only need one more $85 treatment, which will actually be less because I accumulated points from the first two prescriptions. The $170 included the initial consultation and 2 treatments. If you're looking to get rid of dark spots, don't waste your money on these very expensive treatments with a "no-refund" policy. I hope my having learned this lesson the hard way will save you the time, trouble, and most importantly, the money. I am so disappointed in all of this, especially after having been a customer here for the massages for several years. During these times, a global pandemic, folks should be more understanding that there is not an associate just sitting by the phone. Anthony was absolutely incredible. I visited Xscape Massage and Spa recently. I was very pleased with the appts., and the appt reminder. The front desk staff is organized and professional. They really do a nice job in that regard. The masseuses have multiple years of experience and have worked with Xscape for many years. They are clean and conduct sanitizing of the areas after each client. They also provide a full bottle of water after your massage, which is a nice benefit. There is adequate parking, and they provide a lot of services to include facials etc. I had a one hour massage. They start the massage clock based on your appt time. So if you take to long to get undressed or fill out your paper work the time is not extended. . So get there early. My massage was very aggressive and not traditional Swedish style although that's what I requested. The only reflexology in received was to my foot? Which really don't need and didn't like. The masseuse was knowledgeable and could talk about what they were doing throughout the massage. Unfortunately the style of massage was way to rough, with a lot of short aggressive stokes. I prefer a traditional Swedish style massage. I get a message twice a month and this is the first time I experience such and aggressive rough approach. The oil was applied to my skin as opposed to being warmed by their hands first. The music was top 40 and not relaxing, however my masseuse adjusted. My masseuse was very friendly and professional. Finally, the environment was a bit noisy. I could hear people talking on the rooms on both sides of me. This made it difficult to relax. All in all this is a nice place for first timers and people who like an aggressive sports type of massage. I prefer to and relieved muscle pains and aches with long flowing strokes. I also want full body snd this was not full body. Give them a try. It's worth the cost for most people and they offer other services. So you can get a facial and a massage. read more

I purchased a Groupon that I forgot about, until the last minute. I called on a Tuesday, gave my availability for the rest of the week, including all day on Friday. Never got a call back. Realized this the day after the Groupon expired. I called, explained the situation and asked whether they would allow me to use the Groupon anyway. They gave me a flat, "no". They said the computer would not accept the Groupon. This doesn't align with other experiences that I've had with expired Groupons. Once a spa was booked for weeks, so they let me come in after the expiration date and use the Groupon. Another time, I feared that I wouldn't be able to get into a spa before the expiration date and I was told that even if that happened, they would still apply the Groupon value to a service of my choice. I should have been more on top of things, but I think it's pretty crummy that they didn't return my call, did not seem like they were surprised or cared about this (no apology until later in the discussion and that was a very weak, "I'm sorry, but I'm not the only receptionist...") and didn't try to encourage me to come in anyway, take advantage of some other special, etc. read more

I purchased a two massage deal through Groupon and when I showed up for my second scheduled massage they informed me that there would be an additional $20 fee. I had purchased six massages as a gift during my first visit and when I told them that I wanted a refund for these because I didn't appreciate them trying to get more money out of me, they refused. For Christmas, my mom gave me a Groupon to Xscape for 3 Micro Derma Facials. No where in the Groupon do they mention they have limited hours for Groupon customers, but they do, so beware of this. In addition to their limited groupon hours, they cancel appointments and randomly changed their limited groupon hours. After two appointment that Xscape cancelled, and trying to reschedule within their insane limited hours, I only received one of my three facials before the expiration date. They were so very kind (sarcasm) as to offer me the opportunity to pay the face value difference in cash if I wanted to get my two remaining facials. Oh...the one facial I actually did receive was spent listening to the technician blab on about the owner and how he hates groupons and he wants her to upsell people to get acid peels since he makes more money on peels. Got stuck in rush hour traffic for almost 2 hours to make my appointment. I was the last appt of the day, so I'm sure it was annoying that I was 15 minutes late, but most people in the Atlanta area are a little flexible with schedules considering we all deal with traffic. As I was sitting in traffic, I called to let them know I would be running late . The receptionist asked if I could hold for a minute. 11 minutes later (looked at the call length on my phone), I was still holding. So I called back and was asked to be put on hold again. This time I said "no" and explained that I would be a little late. I arrived at 6:15 for a facial that should've been 60 minutes. My facial ended at 6:57. I understand being late is my problem but if you're trying to win business, this isn't the way to do it. Staying 10 or 15 minutes late never hurt anyone. When I got in the car and looked in the mirror, I still had A LOT of eye makeup on. I've never gone in for a facial and left with makeup on, so not only was it too short, but it wasn't thorough. My boyfriend gifted me a couple's massage via Groupon. I had no trouble scheduling it (they do require you to schedule Groupon services during the week). They called us about a month in advance because they were changing their hours and wouldn't be able to keep our appointment, but offered to reschedule for a Saturday and waive their fees. That was the only hiccup in our experience and the reason why they don't get 5 stars. Registration at the front was expedient and easy with the Groupon. I think I can help with the discrepancies in reviews. YES, about the confusion for new Grouponers. The business NEEDs to change the small print on the Groupon site, so that customers are not feeling the bait and switch. Groupon is ONLY for new customers. If you've been once, they have it in the system and will charge you $20 more. And you can only use your Groupon during the week. YES, they are very difficult to reach and did not return any of calls from voice mail. I called this week to schedule a friend, and never got a call back. I'm not sure they even know they have a voice mail. It's poor customer service and is hurting their business. Keep calling. If you're nearby, just stop in because once you talk to the receptionist, she is fabulous. Once you get on the schedule, you will love it. Once you step in and see how professional they are, you will change your mind. It's very clean, spa like, not sketchy, relaxing, friendly and they do an excellent job. The larger package prices are as goods the Groupon prices. Or you pay a little more for one time at $48. It's really the best deal in town. I highly recommend Deborah. I was really skeptical to grab the Groupon associated with Xscape Massage due to the mixed reviews. It was worth a try because it was close to home. The receptionist was very accommodating when I first called in to set up a Swedish Massage with a Groupon. The moment I walked into this establishment, the same receptionist was very friendly from the start. I was amazed with how comforting the whole environment was down to the aromatherapy scents, colors of decor, and background music. My masseuse, Lucy, was right on time. She didn't introduced herself at first, but I made sure to ask her at the end because she was soooo wonderful. I initially thought she wasn't putting enough pressure, but she knew exactly what she was doing. Before I told her to put in more pressure, she was already working her way to those pressure points. Her routine was right on point and I truly wished that I got more than an hour massage with her. This was a great first experience with Xscape and they will surely continue to have my business. read more

I purchased a Groupon from here for my Boyfriend and when he went to schedule it they told him he had been there before and they weren't going to let him use the Groupon unless he paid them an EXTRA $20! How was I supposed to know he had been there when I had brought it as a gift???!! I was given a gift certificate for 3 x 1 hour Swedish massages at Xscape for Christmas and finally had a chance to go in for the first massage. Prior to my visit, I read the reviews on Yelp and was a bit concerned about what I would experience. Fortunately, my visit was nothing like what the other reviewers described. Xscape Massage is located in a strip mall on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road across from Zaxby's. There are a few small massage shops in the area so make sure you are at the right place. The lobby was clean and pleasantly apportioned. The receptionist greeted me immediately and was very friendly. After taking my information, she let my therapist, Francis, know that I had arrived. Francis greeted me warmly and took me back to the room. The room was clean, smelled fresh, and had pleasant instrumental music playing. I let Francis know that this was my first time receiving a massage and she gave me instructions on what to do next. She asked me which areas I would like her to focus on and then left the room so I could undress. Her great attitude immediately put me at ease. As I mentioned, this was my first massage so I don't have anything to compare it to; but, I feel that Francis did a great job. She was very thorough and seemed to be in tune to how I responded to different degrees of pressure in different areas. If something caused me to tense up slightly, she immediately adjusted. She focused on the areas that I had identified at the start of the session but not at the expense of other areas. I got my full hour's worth and left completely relaxed. Francis gave me a bottle of water as I left and encouraged me to drink plenty of water throughout the afternoon and evening. On my way out, the receptionist addressed me by name and asked if I was satisfied with the massage. I found the staff to be very respectful and professional throughout my experience. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. I bought a groupon for a couples massage and I scheduled it a month in advance. I got an email confirmation with a date and time that was not even close to what I had just scheduled over the phone. I called back and had a very unpleasant experience where the representative made me feel like it was my fault for scheduling wrong when I had literally just gotten off the phone and I know for certain I said the correct date. I let it slide because I figured it was just miscommunication on my end and lack of organization on their end, but it only got worse from there. I had my appointment confirmed the day before, when they called me, but as I was literally on my way there for the appointment, they called me to ask if they could reschedule for the next day (Saturday) because one of the therapists was out sick. I told them that the Groupon I had purchased was not valid on weekends, which is why I chose the Friday date, so it just makes me feel like they purposefully tried to push my appointment to Saturday so my groupon wasn't valid. This isn't confirmed, but it is extremely suspicious. The receptionist was not friendly, nor apologetic to me at all. I asked if there was any possible way I could get in for today and she said "we can't control who gets sick around here." Terrible. God bless Groupon for refunding me the purchase, even though I had already paid and the cancellation period has expired. I would not recommend working with these unfriendly people. read more

My husband and I got a groupon for a couples massage which included swedish massage, thai yoga stretch, and reflexology. My husband's massage therapist did all that, and he enjoyed it. Unfortunately the massage I received from Sabrina was less than satisfactory. Not only did I NOT get thai yoga stretch or reflexology done on me, the massage was quite weak and I hardly felt much pressure. I kept asking her to add some more pressure as I wasn't feeling anything, and to work more on my shoulders, but her strokes hardly changed. For the whole hour, all I basically got was a skin massage. Xscape is one of those rare finds that blends high quality and low price to deliver a fantastic value everytime you go, no coupon needed. I've had massages from other well known places and Xscape does just as a good of a job at half the price. I've been back several times now and had few different masseuses and all were very friendly, knowledged and seemed experienced as they all found my muscle knots without me pointing them out. I guess you don't have to be a seasoned masseuse to find those but still, it shows they know what they are doing. And everytime you're done and you come out of your room, your masseuse is standing by the reception desk waiting with a bottle of water and a smile for you. This includes the owner who's also a masseuse. Pricing: Again, pricing is unbeatable. $38 for 1 hour swed. But the pricing structure gets a little fuzzy after that. I think it's $10 more for deep tissue and if you want two hours, it's more than $76 (forget exactly how much) so you pay more for buying longer. I don't recall other places charging more than double for double the time. Still, the value is excellent. Location and decor: Xscape is located in a small strip mall on L'ville-Suwanee so there's traffic nearby. You may hear some trucks passing by while in your room but it's mostly muted and the "massage music" is playing to drown out traffic noise. Room ambiance is standard massage rooms, low lighting, quieted, music playing. Rooms are smaller than other places but that doesn't detract anything. Is it perfect? No. You do notice the faint traffic noise once in a while. Most other places also suffer from this issue. The only knock against Xscape is the hours. They do have fairly extensive weekend hours but seems booked often so call ahead if you want weekend appointment. My preference is to go after a stressed day at work but rarely make it before their closing time. Wish they took appointments to 9 or so. They advertise no membership and what-not. Very true. They do put your info including phone number in their system but they never called to solicit more business even if you haven't been back in a while. read more
