The bus terminal is small but is so intelligently designed and very strategically located. Another addition to the long list of outstanding things about this wonderful town called Tulum! Here are some of the key highlights: 1. It's best to book your tickets a few days in advance given how much the locals and tourists rely on the bus connections going in and out of Tulum. Especially if you are going to the Airport or down south to Chetumal or even up north towards Merrida. Playa del Carmen - maybe not. Too many collectivos plying back and forth on that route. 2. Booking in advance also helps you choose the seats on the buses. It is not first come first serve system for boarding here. Seats get assigned and you can choose your preference when you book them. (take notice Greyhound / Peter Pan / Megabus / et al!) 3. The staff at the counter is very friendly. And they all speak la ingles! 4. One very important point: During the month of February. some parts of Quintana Roo (that includes Tulum), turn the clocks forward by an hour as compared to Cancun time. The buses leave according to the Tulum time. So booking the tickets at this bus terminal becomes even more important so that you know you are going to board your bus at the right time and not miss it by an hour. There are 2 Big Clocks showing The 2 different times - right next to the bookin window! This is of importance because in this modern day and age, the cell phones (if they get the wireless network you are riding on) refuse to come to terms with this reality that is followed only in this beautiful region. No auto update for Quintana Roo time? Take that iOS and Android devices - some place you guys are completely useless! 5. There is a small store attached to the bus terminal that sells essentials - water, soda, juices, coffee, to go snacks and sandwiches, Hola magazines en espaniol, and such. Pretty awesome! PS: No cerveza! (Nothing in this world is 100% awesome) 6. The terminal also has a very well kept, Neat and Very Clean public rest room that is pay-to-use. Huge, tall 8+ feet turnstiles to get access after you drop in the coin. Guess what - 5 pesos Only! ~ 35.3 US cents - that's some DEAL! 7. The information board outside the booking counter has a lot of information - in English and Spanish. Destinations, departure times, trip time, and fare prices that you can read and plan your move towards the booking counter with less queries. My many a college degrees come handy somewhere at least! 8. Finally, the seating area is not huge. For a terminal that can handle 4 buses standing next to each other, the hall has benches that can seat approx 30-40 (depending on people sizes and accompanied luggage) max and can get crowded pretty fast. But the benches are well apart that when to full capacity, you won't be feeling like one of the 37 sardines crammed in a tiny can. No - you will be just fine. As goes common sense - arrive a little early. Grab a good spot. Do some people watch. Maybe you will get lucky, catch a free show, before you go. Awesome tourists from somewhere in Wales, taking out zip locks of baby carrots, eating healthy before a bus ride to Chetumal, asking their tour Italian guide about whether the mini bus they will be on for the second trip will really be a chicken bus and he replies, yes, but no birds on board, but crowded enough that there won't be seats - just standing space for the 2 hour ride through the mountains... Precious!! I know where I will be going to next... Enjoy!!

Lovely boutique hotel located in the heart of Tulum! I visited during Covid and stayed here for 4…read morenights with absolutely no issues. LiveTulum is located in a great spot in Tulum, the hotel is literally 1 block away from the main road where all the restaurants, cafes, bars and chilled local spots are. Also, you can rent a bike from the hotel and make your way around town and the beach. Or take a cab like I did or do a lot of walking. There is a pool in the hotel that lights ups in the night, very fancy and enjoyable. My room was spacious and clean. Simple and joyful. Each room comes with a balcony which is lovely. There is a TV in the room but no cable...however you can bring your USB port and plug it in. They also have an AC but if you open the balcony door you can enjoy the breeze that's what I did. Also they have a mini fridge and a safety box. I'd recommend going to the Super Aki market which is a block away and get snacks from there and stack up your fridge since restaurants closes at 10PM because of Covid's curfew. I'd love to stay here again in the future. Awesome place and the folks at the front desk were really nice.

Everything was perfect: the aesthetic, location, landscaping, staff, breakfast, room cleanings, and the pool. We read reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor and were still blown away by the service! You can tell it's privately owned and cared for. Front desk is staffed all the time and employs the nicest people (sorry I can't remember the names but the morning lady and evening guy were fantastic). There is even an enthusiastic English-speaking "concierge" named Wendy who is around during breakfast and can help those who do not know Spanish find things to do around Tulum! Breakfast was hot, plentiful, and very good. Fresh tropical fruit, OJ, juices, coffee, eggs, beans, rice, pancakes, assorted breads, cereals, butter, jam....you get the picture. You also get to sit in a nice little breakfast spot among their beautiful landscaping. There are a number of different rooms styles. Daily housekeeping was FANTASTIC! Some have a kitchenette and some do not. Shower heads were a little worn but had GREAT water pressure. My fiance didn't like the shower but I liked it. Some will like the large waterfall spray-type shower and some won't. Drain was slow in our room as well. Make sure you confirm your room type. It's a little confusing on the website about what you will get. We were happy with our 3rd floor suite but wish we had a swim-up. Bottom floor rooms have a swim-up entrance from the pool. You can ask to upgrade at any time if you want if they have space. Our price for the entire stay was very fair. Make sure you tip the breakfast and cleaning staff. They wholly deserve it. As other reviews have said the hotel provides free bikes and bike locks during your trip which only requires a refundable deposit to use. The location of LiveTulum was perfect to bike down to the beaches (bike trail!) and around downtown. Very close to grocery and pharmacy stores. There was even an ATM outside for quick withdrawals before a night out. A lot of people seem to be complaining about the construction. It is true, they are building a large hotel behind the property and it got noisy during the day. Tulum is seeing a lot of growth overall and there is construction everywhere. It did get noisy during the day. However, it's not during quiet hours and why would you want to sit in your room all day anyway!?! The owner can't control the noise and we didn't feel duped or anything. It was great to see how much construction was going on, Tulum is going to be very different in a few years. We will be back! When we checked into our 1st floor room, we were a bit alarmed that it was quite musty and smelled a bit of mold. We are very susceptible to this as I have gotten bronchitis in the past from a moldy hotel room. With a bit of talking, we were moved into a 2nd floor room and it was much better. The walls of the buildings were soaked from the rains and you could see the moisture at least 4 feet up from the ground. The second floor room also had far less bugs crawling around so I would avoid the 1st floor rooms in general. The staff was great. We dealt mostly with Anna and Nelly and they were very helpful and friendly. There were a few things that were negatives for us though. We were aware it was a bit far from town and the beach but we took taxis and rented bikes for one day. I think $135MP per bike is expensive considering a lot of hotels in town offer complementary bikes. I wouldn't have minded if the bikes were better in quality but they weren't. It's a small cost that seemed a bit petty to charge for. Breakfast choices are very minimal and expensive for what you are given. It's much better to go into town for food in general. We hung out at the bar a bit and although the drinks are good, they are beach prices far from the beach. You will be charged 150 MP per. Unfortunately no one told us there was a beach club we could have gone to. That would have been nice to know. If you have transportation this is a very nice place to stay.

It is on the beach, and you get a small complimentary breakfast each morning. There a couple (mostly friendly) dogs on the property, in addition to a couple birds that frequent the dining tables. As for the humans, the staff is happy to cater to any requests and willing to help with general topics that come up during your stay. You can also use complimentary sunscreen at the check-in area. The only reason I'd knock it a star is that I think the staff could be more helpful when it comes to very basic questions about Tulum. For example, getting around the city via taxi requires some negotiation and predetermined knowledge about the way taxi drivers rip off tourists. There is also a colectivo available. However, when we inquired about this, the staff claimed ignorance and did not give us this information (kickbacks are common in Tulum...be ready to protect yourself against scams).

Service - we were greeted with a mini bevvies & someone even came with a wheelbarrow to bring our…read moreluggage to our rooms. everyone in the wellness center was extremely friendly and helpful. we had a few instances at the restaurants where people did not come over to seat us or take our orders and we had to flag someone down. not sure if that was because we went during off season. overall - very friendly & helpful. ambiance - the check-in area is outdoors with a cute lounge area. you walk down a sandy path towards the bungalows/units. you def feel like you are in the jungle with all of the plants & creatures (geckos, birds, iguanas, bugs). the different restaurants have different vibes. rooms - we opted for the bungalow **NOT THE SAME AS A STANDARD ROOM* which was basically a tent w/ an outdoor bathroom. meaning yes - you are going to be shitting & showering with the creatures. and everyone will be able to hear you! i thought it was going to be cute, but i got over that very fast & wished we got gotten either a standard room or upgraded to a bathroom that was indoors. it was kind of cool to shower next to a palm tree, but not so cool to have to pee with the possibility of a gecko falling onto your head. we did have AC though which was essential! activities - * cacao ceremony: beautiful ceremony. made me think of chocolate in a different way. held on-site and in the yoga shala. * yoga (2 different sessions): we tried to do the off-site yoga and we did not sign up early enough so we got turned away! so we did yoga on-site (again at the yoga shala). exercise has not been a focus of mine so it was TOUGH! but there were different levels and classes available. i appreciated both even if i struggled. *ice bath (private): i loved this. we did breath work beforehand. then we each got into the bath for 3 mins. our instructor was great. also held at the yoga shala on-site. food - 2 restaurants on-site. macondo was only open the first night we were there. which i was very sad about because they had the best hummus & pita. they also had a DJ so the place was insanely packed. very chill atmosphere with the couches. the other resto option was la popular which was on the beach. we had most of our meals here which was nice to be ON THE BEACH. but beware of creatures - birds stealing food & shitting on you. & iguanas crawling under the tables. ceviche from here was *chefs kiss* who would have thought grapes and shrimp went well together. !! TIP !! Bring bug spray or some bug repellant. we got eaten up. by the end of the trip i prob had over 50 bug bites all over. very very rough!

We needed a quick escape and decided to come to Tulum for a few days…read more We saw a few YouTube videos on Nomade and thought it looked beautiful so decided to stay here. First, let me just say that taxis and parking in tulum are insane. Despite this being a high end resort there is no shuttle for guests and no parking. So you're beholden to leveraging their bikes which you can rent for free between 12-5 daily or the ridiculous taxis waiting outside the entrance. If you do choose to rent a car, parking is street only and this seems ridiculous for a resort. I will note on their website they say they have parking but when we reached out directly to the hotel to inquire about parking (because we were considering renting a car) they explicitly told us it was street parking only. Ok, since we are on the negatives I'll continue by noting that check in isn't until 4pm daily so an early arrival means you can hang out in the public areas but just be aware of that when you dress for an early arrival. The other negatives, our beach access suite (the second most expensive room/suite available) did have its own pool and outdoor seating area but this area only got early morning sun. This made the area not very enjoyable to use for the majority of the day because it was fully enclosed/shaded and the "lounge area" was a couch so not ideal for lounging. Additionally, we saw a few crawly uninvited guests in our room. Ants in our toilet room and then a rather large cockroach on our sink/vanity area. With the indoor/outdoor nature vibe of this resort these guests I'm sure are a common nuisance but definitely not what you'd expect for $1000/night. The area of the resort is very intricate and maze like and while this weaving of the jungle/beach is a vibe it for sure it is not accessible to anyone with mobility issues. One of the main dining areas also offered primarily low/backless seating so again, not the best for comfort or accessibility. We also had power outages our last night - this definitely made the room pretty humid and difficult to sleep in (but the storm was great to listen to and watch). For a place like this and a per night rate as high as they charge, they should have dependable generators. Also, not necessarily a negative but important to note, there are no TVs in any of the rooms, so bring a few great books and indulge in the activities and conversations with your fellow guests. The resort does have great beach accessibility with plenty of loungers for guests. But the area also had a LOT of people walking around during the day selling various items. This definitely made it feel less like a private beach and more just like a public one which was again, disappointing. The last negative I will give for this place is we did meet up with friends who live in Tulum and who came over to join us for a lounge-y day and despite again, having one of the most expensive per night suites they did try to charge us for their "day passes". Thankfully, they said they'd make an exception which honestly, shouldn't even be a discussion given the room cost and the fact that we ordered food and drink throughout the day and had it charged to the room. So now for some highlights - as the YouTube and instareel highlights will showcase the resort itself is very "vibey". The suite we stayed in was nicely appointed and did have lots of big spacious windows providing great sea views and sounds. The bed was very comfy and big - plus the room came with a separate large seating lounge area. The pool and water feature was beautiful but again because it was shaded for the majority of the day the water remained pretty crisp. Another positive is there are daily activities you can sign up for and experience - including various yoga, sound bathing, and a really cool bonfire and stargazing. The main eating area also had live DJs and music on the nights we stayed and that was great to have available. The food was really tasty albeit very tourist priced. We enjoyed snacks on the beach (the tuna tartar and guacamole were both super fresh and delicious) and dinner at Mercado the first night (taboule salad and a great Mediterranean take on a taco). Both of these dishes were tasty and big enough to share. Our booking did include a daily breakfast but ordering more than one coffee resulted in a charge and that seems pretty petty when the cost per night is over $1000usd. It's also important to note that if you have an early check out, and pay for the breakfast, your option on your departure date is a sad boxed "lunch". This again, is wildly unacceptable for the cost. Guests leaving early should be able to place a breakfast order to go the night before their departure and not just be given a sad, tasteless boxed option. All in all, it was a great getaway for us because we were able to switch off but we'd not recommend this as a place that's worth its nightly rate. If we come back to Tulum we will for sure look for different accommodations.

Upon hearing so many horror stories in Tulum via YouTube and even through Google Reviews and Yelp…read morein my extensive research I was really careful not to pick a place that would steal my money or scam me or this and that. I found this place on the Michelin Guide and it did NOT disappoint! I would send everyone here if I could. The rooms remind me of a jungle layout except near the beach and they stock the rooms with lots of drinkable water and include everyday room service along with a welcome coffee and pastries. I kid you not they went above and beyond to get me my coffee even though I was booked to the brim with activities in most mornings. I really appreciated their service. It's super easy to contact them so whatever you need is through WhatsApp. I enjoyed my birthday trip here and they made me feel so accommodated I really feel like I stayed at a 5 star resort! Getting the cabana beds out on the beach was easy you just have to say your room number and they'll get you there asap. I just also really enjoyed the wet bar and the pool on hotter days.

Tom explained via a personalized drawn map of the area- including taxi pricing, favorite restaurants and tips for activities- and all turned out to be very helpful. Checked in to the treehouse suite, which was good size for us plus our 6 year old. Room includes hot water, fresh water bottles, a safe and plenty of large fans- the fans (during out November stay) were perfectly great to chill down at night- even needing a light jacket in the early morning. On the down side, we are used to the nature and the bugs, that is why we come down here of course, and critters are part of it- so if staying on the jungle side, expect to see more ants and things. My main criticism was the gas smell that came through the windows at busy times of the day- because of the generators pumping and the constant taxis outside, the gasoline did bother me. However, the positives well outweighed any negative- we spent most our time out on the beach of Maalix- they were hospitable, we ate and drank in their bar and they were more than happy to accommodate us. Also spent time cooking in LPM's kitchen, which was a welcome bonus of staying in LPM. Pick up a few staples on your way in from town at Chedruai or borrow a bike from LPM and swing over to pick up fruit, veggies, breakfast items, juices, butter, milk etc... Aside from cooking in the communal kitchen- you can find great fresh lobster and fish next door at Simple, yummy brick oven pizza at La Onda about 6 shops down - and then keep going, your options of bars and tacos on the beach are endless. The location, if you want to stay out of the fray of people, even the beaches down on this side are quieter than further north near the town and shops. All in All, it's great that you can pretty much feel free to enjoy the property and the area; no one bothers you about rules and regulations on the beach, as long as you are respectful. We felt safe and well cared for. OH! Try the fresh fruit plate from their cafe in the front on the street side, a wide variety of fresh cut fruits- delicious granola and yogurt. We will be back next time we venture down to southern Quintana Too!

We had fresh towels (one for beach & one for bath), filtered drinking water, and an onsite communal kitchen area for cooking & hanging out. Enjoyed delicious food and friendly service at the onsite restaurant. Malika and staff are great. The accommodations exceeded my expectations, and I slept well every night in the treetop suite. 24/7 electricity & AC avail from 8p-5a. Great showers thanks to strong water pressure & hot/cold water. Easy breezy beach access directly across the street via La Eufemia. Parking avail for our compact rental car-- which was a real "amenity" considering beach road has very limited parking options.
