XTP by Luxe Pilates is a beautiful boutique studio in South Pasadena with a welcoming, cozy atmosphere. I found them through ClassPass and noticed on their website that first-time clients are required to take the Luxe Fundamentals class, which I appreciated since it helped me get familiar with the studio and teaching style. I already had my own grip socks, but they do have grip socks available for purchase if needed. The studio itself is spacious, bright, and filled with natural light. They have eight custom Balanced Body reformers that felt incredibly comfortable to use. The reformers are slightly longer than standard ones, which was my personal preference. I'm sure others would like this as well! The layout is thoughtfully designed and never felt crowded, even during class. I also caught a glimpse of one of their private rooms, which looked lovely. I took Luxe Fundamentals with Myra, and she was fantastic. She incorporated a 10-pound Pilates circle into the workout, making it a surprisingly challenging full-body class while still offering modifications for those with back pain or other limitations. What stood out most was how she took the time to learn everyone's names, which made the experience feel personal and welcoming. The music was upbeat without being distracting, and Myra's instructions were easy to hear throughout class. There's a small bench near the entrance for personal belongings, though I would have appreciated a bit more space for bags and other items. One thing to keep in mind is parking. The lot is fairly small, so I would definitely recommend arriving early to secure a spot and settle in before class. Overall, I had a great first experience and can see why people love this studio. Amazing studio and instructors. I have tried several studios over the past year, and this is my favorite one. The studio is spacious and beautiful, with lots of natural light. They have eight custom Balanced Body reformers. The reformers are top of the line, and a bit longer than standard ones. Bathroom is nicely stocked, and there is a private room with Cadillac reformer. The instructors are awesome. Lulu, Tunde, Janine, Shawn, and Myra are all amazing. Each one has a different style and you get a full body workout every time. They are all warm, friendly, and always take the time to answer questions and take the time to get to know their clients. Playlists are great, sound is ambient without being too loud, mics are good quality without any echo. There is a beautiful long wooden bench by entrance for you to place your personal items and sit, as well as a cubby in the back. I appreciate the thought that went into the layout of this studio. It is spacious but still feels intimate. There is a small parking lot and also street parking. Customer service is great. read more

I had a wonderful experience at xtp. I'm a pilates newbie and after trying Club Pilates, I came here. The spot is sleek and clean. Parking can be rough, I recommend parking on the street. My very first Pilates class and all I can say is WOW! I took the Fundamentals class with Janine, and she was incredible, so patient, clear, and supportive throughout the entire class. The studio itself is absolutely beautiful, clean, calming, and thoughtfully designed. It really adds to the whole experience and makes you feel instantly at ease. Everyone was welcoming, and Janine made me feel completely comfortable, which means everything when you're trying something new. I'm already excited to go back. First time at this studio and it's light and airy. Everything looks clean and brand new. The instructor is good. Perfect class if you are new to this sort of exercise. Since I'm familiar to this workout, it was a little too easy for me. I didn't break a sweat which is disappointing to me. I've gone to her studio in La Canada, and I much prefer that place because it's a little more challenging. I love it that her dog is there. Very cute and friendly. I want to keep this studio a secret! The space is absolutely beautiful with high ceilings, full size mirrors, and special customized reformer machines. The reformers used here are custom so they are slightly longer and include additional straps and other functions to keep class interesting. I've only taken classes with Shawn so far, but she is amazing. Kind, but challenging. Great for all levels - beginner and more advanced. She uses different props like keeping yoga block on our shins to keep our form correct. Every time I finish class, it's an accomplishment I feel for days after! read more

Cutest little pilates studio in South Pasadena! I took my first class at XTP by LUXE Pilates and absolutely loved it. The studio is located in South Pasadena, with plenty of ample parking, both in their parking lot as well as on the street (free parking for both!) The studio is bright, beautiful, with tons of natural lighting. I love doing reformer pilates, and always love to try out different studios. The reformers are some of the most comfortable I've used! I took my class with Lulu, who is one of my favorite instructors I've taken class with. She always has a great playlist & great energy throughout the class. I've been coming here three times a week for the past two months and I'm completely hooked. I had never taken a pilates class before trying this studio, and have been coming here ever since. All 3 instructors I've taken a class with have been amazing (Janine, Katie & Tunde). They each bring their own style and all of them push me in the best way to improve every class. I've been here a good handful of times and have attended classes with a few different instructors. Janine (the owner) is incredibly sweet. She does a great fundamentals class for beginners for a more slow-paced but EFFECTIVE session. Lulu will kick your ass but leave you feeling accomplished for days after. I've been going to this studio for about 2 months. They have two locations South Pasadena as well as La Canada flintridge. I personally prefer South Pasadena because it is closer and has more of a spa like boutique vibe. It is a small business and the owner Janine is pretty involved. I like it because they have no crazy policies in terms of cancellations or pausing your membership. I believe the studio is available on class pass. Their monthly subscription gives you 12 classes for about $280 a month. I love the studio because they have classes that are after 5:30 p.m. they have a 6:30 p.m. class and I believe one at 7:30 as well. So if you're working a traditional office job like me you're able to get there. It seems as if the demographic here is diverse and there is a good mix of older and younger people. Although it skews to the early 30s crowd it seems like. I love the vibe and plan to continue going as long as I can. read more

Totally in love with Luxe - it's a next-level studio, so gorgeous, light, spacious and spa-like, with top tier, custom reformers. I've been practicing Pilates for about 4 years, trying various studios around LA, landing at XTP in La Canada when I lived in that area, and now going to Luxe because I moved to Highland Park. The instructors, and especially Janine (the owner), are positive, knowledgable and put extra focus on form and breath, helping me to get the most out of a workout and improve my practice. Check out Lulu's uplevel class for even more advanced instruction and more cardio. Other general stuff that I'm picky about - the lighting is great, the music is good and at a reasonable volume, and there's plenty of easy, free parking. I'm obsessed with Pilates, and this is seriously a dream studio. read more

Having been to XTPs previous location in La Canada, I was excited to discover they opened another studio closer to my home. The studio itself is simply beautiful--immaculately clean with a bright, welcoming atmosphere. There are eight brand-new reformers that are customized for the studio. Janine, the teacher and owner is incredibly kind and positive. She focused on my form and provided hands-on adjustments which really helped fine-tune my practice. The worst experience ever. First timer scheduled a class for five. Never was told that if I didn't fill out a profile online that my spot wouldn't be held. Got there for my 10:00 class only to be turned away because they had already booked another class. Guess they don't need any new clients. Would strongly urge everyone to stay away since they have no ability to express how their system works nor any interest in treating potential clients with respect. read more

The studio advised to arrive 15 minutes before the class started. Per their instruction, I got there early and was standing there for about 10 minutes before the instructor acknowledged me. After she finally acknowledged me, she checked me in and asked if I was new. I told her yes and that I have never taken a reformer class. She then gave a quick half ass overview of the machine. Once the class started, I was lost. Looking around at everyone for guidance. At one point, she was telling us to do an exercise and I was trying to do it, but I couldn't. You can tell she was getting frustrated because I couldn't do it, so I told her that I'm not doing it and I would do the next exercise. Well, she didn't like that because she said that exercise was important. She then proceeded to tell the entire class how/why that particular exercise was important. She made me feel so embarrassed. Overall, she gave no clear instruction and was not attentive knowing I was the only new person in the class. She also told a gal she had boxy shoulders! That's not something you should ever tell a woman! Anyway, I had a terrible experience. read more

Wow! I am in awe with this beautiful new pilates studio! I just returned to pilates after a long hiatus due to having a baby and I am a bit picky when it comes to instructors and studios. And after attending my first class, I'm hooked with this one! My instructor was Lulu and she was seriously so clear and informative! Also extremely helpful since it was my first class in a while- I was feeling very intimidated and rusty but she totally was so encouraging and helpful. I enjoyed her course on a full body. Very rarely do we get a full body, some instructors tend to prioritize certain strengths over others and I felt really balanced with Lulu. I am so happy to find a new home for my pilates workout thats conveniently close but also so beautiful and has a great schedule.
